Short: amazing H&MU artists, great products and results, the best stylists in Tulum/Yucatan for any bride and her party!! I would give Prep 5,000 stars if I could :)
Long:
I got married in Isla Holbox, MX and was so so so lucky to have found Prep via Instagram! I spent a long time finding the right H&MU artists because I knew if H&MU were on point I would relax more on my wedding day :) I could only achieve this if I found the BEST stylists in Tulum (and frankly ever). I ended up booking a trial run with Prep, because I'm just that type of person where I want to establish a rapport and I feel totally comfortable on my wedding day. The trial run gave us time to play around with a few different styles and Chelsea was able to give me several tips for better hair a month before my wedding. I would highly recommend all brides to do a trial run if you can. But I will say it wasn't totally necessary since Prep definitely has the expertise to pull off any vision you have on first-go. Since I got married in Holbox I had to pay the travel fees for the girls to come from Tulum, which I found totally fair since it's quite a travel day to get to the island.
After doing the trial run I kinda knew I wanted to have the girls do my H&MU for my welcome reception which was the day before my wedding as well as on the wedding day. I just wanted those two days to be easy breezy for me. I NEVER do anything special with my hair and don't really even know how to do my makeup properly so having the girls do both days was perfect for me! Chelsea did my hair and Bailey did my makeup. They're both exceptionally amazing at what they do and made me feel so beautiful both days of my wedding events. I should also add that Chelsea had added some extensions to my hair to make it fuller when we did the trial run (another reason to do the trial). Dealing with the Holbox humidity my hair tends to look thin at times and we both thought I'd feel better with a little more volume - and she was RIGHT! My MU was perfect too. I wanted a natural look with a pop of color on the lips. Bailey really did a beautiful job!
Bottom line is hiring H&MU artists for a wedding in Tulum or Isla Holbox can feel expensive, but rest assured, Prep is going to deliver top quality and it's worth every cent. I found Prep Tulum while planning my wedding in San Jose del Cabo. Since I was from southern California, I wanted to find a makeup vendor that fit my style and knew I could trust on my wedding day. I coordinated everything with Brittany and loved the planning process. I had my makeup trial the week of my wedding when we arrived and Michelle did an amazing job!
The day of my wedding was perfect and Michelle made sure I looked more natural and exactly what I envisioned! The rest of the team did my bridesmaids and my mother/mother in law! Could not have had a better hair and makeup experience especially while doing a destination wedding! -

I found Prep Tulum on WeddingWire and I'm so glad I did. After inquiring, Brittany reached out momentarily and she was one of my most communicative vendors. I also loved the vibe and style of their Instagram profiles and decided I needed to book Prep Tulum! I booked a hair trial at their salon in Tulum for my welcome party. Daiana and David are amazing! Not only are they extremely talented - they were so much fun to talk to and hang out with two days in a row. On the day of my wedding, they came to the resort and also did hair and makeup for my mom, sister and 2 friends. Everyone looked FABULOUS! I also paid for them to stay around for touchups and I'm SO glad I did. Luckily it did NOT rain on my wedding day but it was extremely humid and of course, I wanted to wear my hair down. After the first look, I snuck back to the spa and they fixed up my hair and makeup. I am so glad they did or I would have looked like a hot mess at my ceremony. Diana and David were such a delight to work with and I'm so glad I decided to go with Prep Tulum! -

Prep Hair helped me from start to finish! They looked at photos and videos to personalize my hair and makeup for my wedding! They answered every question and never made my questions feel silly were extremely responsive. Maria did an incredible job with the styling and was so much fun!!! Highly recommend!! -

Flawless Beauty in Paradise!
I couldn't have asked for a more incredible hair and makeup experience for my wedding in Punta Mita, Mexico. From the moment my trial began a few days before to the spray tan to the final touch-ups before the wedding photos, the talent and professionalism of the Prep Tulum Team were absolutely outstanding.
The hair and makeup artists (Diego and Oscar!) transformed me into a vision that I had always dreamed of for my big day. Their attention to detail and their ability to understand and execute my desired look was remarkable. I felt like the best version of myself, and the compliments from my family and friends were endless.
What truly set this team apart was their genuine care and dedication. They created a relaxed and joyful atmosphere in the midst of wedding day jitters. With so much going on, they were so accommodating and helpful. Their warm and friendly demeanor made me feel not only stunning but also incredibly comfortable.
The makeup was long-lasting, even in the Mexican humidity and heat, and the hairstyling remained picture-perfect throughout the entire day and long into the night. I didn't have to worry about touch-ups, allowing me to fully enjoy my wedding day.
The team's flexibility and adaptability were commendable. They accommodated any last-minute changes or requests with a smile, which helped reduce any stress on the day. Their experience in working with various hair types and skin tones was evident in the quality of their work. They did an amazing job all around!
I also got a spray tan through Prep Tulum and those can be so tricky... But the Prep Tulum team was incredible... I had Laura handle the spray tan and she did AMAZING work. I have had MANY spray tans in my life and this was the best one I've ever received.
For my hair and makeup, I wanted a natural, beachy look for my outdoor ceremony that could transition well into a more glamorous evening look for the reception, they nailed it every step of the way. Their artistry and skill shone through, and I am so grateful for their contribution to making my wedding day a stunning success.
I highly recommend Prep Tulum to any bride planning a destination wedding in any part of Mexico. They were an essential part of making my day unforgettable, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you for your exceptional service and for helping me feel like a true bride on my special day. Five stars are well-deserved, and I would give more if I could! I only wish I could hire them in Los Angeles as well :) -

Getting married in Mexico was supposed to be stress free... then I realized I needed to figure out hair and makeup in a different country. LUCKILY I found Prep on Wedding Wire about a year in advance... I followed their social media pages and instantly fell in love with the different artists work. Brittany answered every question I had and drew up a contract (that I changed a million times) and stayed in contact via WhatsApp in Mexico with me. I couldn't have asked for better communication.
I was assigned Maria and Katty from the Prep team for me and my wedding party. I LOVED THEM. They did a bridal trial with me a few days prior to the wedding and then the actual wedding day. I knew I was taking a risk going full glam in the 99% humidity and 85 degrees but Maria and Katty were all in and my curls and makeup held for almost the entire night! I received SO many compliments on my hair and makeup. They were professional, passionate, and beautiful. A dream team. I couldn't have asked for anything more. -

My daughter (3rd out of 3 weddings in 3 years) had a destination wedding in Tulum last week. We only needed hair and makeup for the bride, my other two daughters and myself. The stylist and makeup artist were exceptional in their talent, professionalism, ability to work with long and somewhat difficult hair that held up in crazy humidity, and makeup that stayed on even when we all jumped in the pool at the end of the party (yes, in our wedding clothes). No mascara smudges, eyelashes stayed on, even hair was still intact. The designs with not only hair (each one of us a fantastic style!) but makeup was incredible. They were able to make this MOB look pretty for the entire night. We've had two other companies in the U.S. for wedding makeup and hair, and neither one was even close to how wonderful Prep Tulum was. I wish I could've taken them back with me to the U.S.! -

Wow! What can I say...
The communication with Prep couldn't have been better. Always available to answer any questions and such quick responses, it's hard to find that with wedding vendors!
I had my hair done a week before the big day and the colour was absolute perfection. It matched my clip in extensions perfectly and seamlessly. This was my first time meeting Karina and her kind and gentle nature made me feel totally at ease.
I went the day before to have my nails done, understated with small pearl details, they looked absolutely beautiful.
When the day came and Karina showed up, I couldn't be happier to know that it was her getting me ready for my wedding. I trusted her implicitly and she also really took into account the look that I was aiming for, glamourous yet natural. I was overwhelmed when I saw the final look, I've never felt more beautiful. The fact that my hair and make-up lasted on a day full of tears and a wild amount of wind on the beach is incredible!
Karina, what you do is so special; you have no idea the impact you make on others, continue to make people feel their best on their special day, I know you will. I will always hold you in my heart xxx

Flawless hair and makeup experience.
We hired Prep Tulum to be our hair and makeup team and I was blown away. I am a hairstylist and salon owner myself so finding a team to do my own wedding was something I was nervous about. I instantly connected with Chelsea the owner and felt at ease. Communication, scheduling and the entire process was professional and seamless. The entire team at prep is a wealth of knowledge and a very broad spectrum of styling and makeup needs not just your average bridal looks. We even used them for some fun braids on a trip to Tulum before our wedding. No need to look elsewhere Prep is the way to go! -

The people in this company are amazing! First off Maria, she did my eyelash extensions during my bachelorette party and did my trial make up the day before the wedding and wedding makeup as well! She makes you feel so comfortable and is so kind to work with. Karina, is also very sweet too! She played around with my hair and made the coolest braid ever. My only regret is the humidity of Mexico that made my hair flat during wedding photos (not karinas fault at all), but she tried to tease it and make it look beautiful regardless. And then the gentleman in the photo, he made an impact on my little 12 year old sister. She is going through that awkward stage of acne and hating making up and all the glam, but this man made her feel so comfortable and confident. He told her that he also had bad acne and gave her tips (healthy food wise and products) to help it. To this day three months later she still is eating clean, and dedicating time to her skin routine because of him. Just awesome! Couldn’t recommend this company enough. They did all of my ladies hair but one . They truly try different make up colors and shades and hair styles to make sure your absolutely happy.
Also I didn’t have my wedding in Tulum, but they made accommodations to come to playa del Carmen and Paamul to do excretions and trial makeup. I am forever grateful for this wonderful team -

I contacted Karina on short notice to do my hair for engagement photos. She was professional, on time, easy to talk to, offered great recommendations and advice, since we aren't from the area.... I would use her again in a heartbeat and I will when I'm back in the area. If you are looking for someone I would absolutely recommend her. The appointment was easy to book, she text me and was super responsive. -

Expectations exceeded!
I chose Prep Tulum for my wedding in Cabo. They kindly were able to travel to my destination wedding. I found them on Instagram and knew I wanted their style for myself and my bridesmaids. I was so happy with their team. Everything went flawlessly - I have never had my hair or makeup done as well as they did, and I am from LA. Well done!! And thank you!! -
