  The roses we ordered were wonderful and smelled so good! It was really fun to put them together into centerpieces; my fiance and I listed to music and arranged them the Thursday before the wedding. The flowers held up through the next Wednesday! If you are DIYing your flowers, I highly recommend Portland Wholesale Florist. Be sure to read the FAQ on their website!

  Their website is so helpful in deciding what flowers are best for DIY. There is an entire section on how to order the correct amounts, how to prepare the flowers, and then use flower preservative so that they last throughout the wedding. I started by ordering one of the DIY bundles they offer, the Enchanting White Rose and Hydrangea Bridal Flowers. The description was: Elegant white roses and mini green hydrangeas are featured in this beautiful DIY combo. What you get:
  25 white roses, 5 mini green hydrangeas, 10 stems green hypericum, 1 bunch silver brunia, and Seasonal foliage. To that I added 10 lbs. of pine, one bunch of red Ranunculus, one bunch of red Hypericum, one bunch of Dusty Miller, one bunch of Leather Leaf Fern, 10 corsage boxes, and a container of the Crowning Glory spray on shield. The cost of everything was less than 200.00. They also have all the supplies you could possibly need. Their storefront had everything there on time, the person who helped me assisted me in carrying everything to the car, gave me some final tips, and added in a handful of the floral preservative so that I didn't have to pay for a whole container when I only needed a small amount. I would highly recommend them, and I was able to make the two bridal bouquets, two maid of honor bouquets, three corsages, and four boutonnieres with leftovers. I had never attempted this before, but I feel confident enough after this experience to try again someday in the future...when I've caught up on my sleep. :)

  If I could give six stars for value, I would. Portland has weird restrictions on their flower mart (you have to have a license), so if you want to do your own flowers this is the place to go. Doug was super helpful throughout the entire process, and even gave me advice to make sure I was being cost-efficient when choosing my flowers. I had flowers coming in two different batches (Ranunculas take longer to open) and they even held onto them for me until the rest of my order was ready so I wouldn't have to make two trips.

  We ordered flowers for our wedding through Portland Wholesale Florist, and we're so glad that we did. The flowers were absolutely stunning. Everything was fresh and so pretty. The service was also excellent and very thorough. Picking up the flowers and arranging them in the days leading up to our wedding with friends and family is one of my favorite wedding memories. If you're a DIYer who loves gorgeous flowers, then Portland Wholesale Florist is a must.

  Portland Flower Market was a great, inexpensive way to do the flowers for our wedding reception centerpieces. I first went into Broadway Floral with the "how do I do this nicely, yet cheaply" question, and the helpful lady who was working (sorry, didn't get her name) referred me to the wholesale side of the business. Perfect.
  
  When I went to pick up my flowers they were not the color I had ordered, so they immediately called the grower, figured out what was going on, and took my address so they could deliver the correct flowers to me. They showed up at my door exactly when they said they'd be there, loaded with apologies, and everything was back on track.
  
  No hard feelings here. They handled everything exactly as I believe they should have and our flower centerpieces looked beautiful. I definitely recommend Portland Flower Market.

  the flowers were gorgeous, they were ready on time, they responded to personal requests added on to an online order. they have a wonderful selection with a friendly and helpful staff.

  The perfect DIY flower experience

  This local company was fantastic and I would highly recommend them. Their prices are very reasonable (they gave me a deal on some bulk items from a distributor that was not on their website). They were efficient, provided great customer service, and the flowers were absolutely amazing. They also provided some advice on ordering and transporting the flowers that really helped. The bridal bouquet we made was much better than anything I saw online!

  My flowers were beautiful! I picked them up the day before and they were in perfect condition for my wedding the next day. However, the roses were a lot smaller than pictured which was disappointing, but overall I was very very pleased.

  We ordered roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, and greens from Portland Wholesale Florist online. We picked them up at their retail location and headed on our way. Note - we picked the flowers up 2 days prior to our wedding per their recommendation.
  
  When we got home we noticed that 1 bunch of roses was not received and the other 2 were already wilting and browning. Then as we went through all of the other flowers and noticed that several of the dahlias we ordered were also wilting and browning. Luckily all of the hydrangeas looked great (which happened to be the flowers I was far more concerned with). On our wedding day, we tried to salvage the roses and dahlias, but definitely had to toss several out and had more brown far too soon. It was pretty disappointing.
  
  Fortunately Doug was very responsive and was quick to rectify the situation. He was helpful and apologetic. I appreciate his professionalism and responsiveness to our concerns.

  The roses that they sold me were bruised. When I had a bridesmaid call them, because I was too upset, no one picked up and after she left message no one returned the call. My bridesmaid had to call them back and was told that her message was deleted because they heard attitude in her voice...really?! I was standing right there and there was absolutely no attitude, which is why I had her call in the 1st place. They then proceeded to tell her they had no knowledge of me or my order (gave them the purchase # and my full name) and I should have let them know the flowers was for a wedding (why does that matter, I paid a lot of money, under no circumstance should I have received bruised flowers). I would have been more upset, but I was a well prepared bride and had a plan B. I was able to use about 1/2 of the flowers I bought here (and that required some work: removing bruised stem, wrapping them with florist tape, pretty much using every trick I had found on Pinterest to make them look somewhat presentable) and I got the other 1/2 from Fred Meyer. If you are looking for a special flower that isn't available other places, you could probably take your chances here, just make sure you thoroughly check them when you pick them up, better to deal with these people face to face.
