Little did I know that when I requested peonies for my wedding, I would be so lucky as to have the most gorgeous bouquets of peonies I had ever seen in my life!
Melissa truly did an amazing job and I am so happy to have had her for my wedding. From start to finish she was professional and personable, helping me in both brainstorming and realizing my vision. They create an online profile for each client with a personalized gallery of flowers and an itemized list of floral pieces with inspirational photos. We met virtually multiple times to really pin down what we wanted, and the results speak for themselves!
On the day of the wedding, they were also very flexible in adjusting certain flowers and ribbons per our requests. They also were a big help in setting up candles and decor in coordination with our venue staff. Our guests couldn't stop gushing over how beautiful everything was! All in all, highly recommend Melissa for anyone in the Hudson Valley and beyond.

Showstopper Floral Arrangements!
One of the best decisions I made for my wedding day was hiring Melissa and her team at Poppytree Floral Designs. Melissa and her team were very organized, professional and thorough throughout the planning process. We had booked Poppytree Floral Designs for our original 2020 wedding. When we decided to postpone our wedding to 2021, Melissa could not have been more accommodating, understanding, or patient with us. It speaks volumes of her character that she was willing to work with us as we secured our new wedding date. She would reach out to us periodically to check in and make sure we were on track to get married in July 2021. I truly appreciated her professionalism and communication during the difficult rescheduling process.
During our design consultation, I shared several inspiration photographs with Melissa for my bridal bouquet, as well as our wedding invitation. Melissa is a true artist and visionary, and her execution of the floral arrangements exceeded my expectations. Each floral arrangement she created was a work of art- full of rich, vibrant colors and textures. The flowers beautifully complimented the mulberry-colored bridesmaid dresses. All the flowers stayed fresh and perky all day long. I would say that the most compliments I received on my wedding day were for my flowers. I had guests telling me that they never notice or pay attention to flowers at weddings until they saw mine! I may be biased, but my bridal bouquet was the most gorgeous floral arrangement I have ever seen. The contrast of colors was so striking. I felt incredibly beautiful as I held my bouquet throughout the day. I could not recommend Melissa and the team at Poppytree Floral Designs more highly!

I cannot RAVE enough about the absolute perfection that occurred at my wedding from the imagination and talent of Melissa at PoppyTree. From the bouquets to the flowers on the arbor to the decor on the tables everything was meticulous but the really special touches came when Melissa interpreted my vague request for "something rainbow at the ceremony" and "a cool backdrop with picture frames for a photo booth" into BREATHTAKING reality - I am still coming down from this dream she created. Rainbows are a special thing to me and my husband and I wanted to surprise him with something at the ceremony, so Melissa created a RAINBOW MADE OUT OF PETALS down the aisle - it was SO BEAUTIFUL - on top of that, we were outside and the day was suuuuper windy but somehow the magic of Melissa got those petals to stay! AND she made a gorgeous sophisticated backdrop for photos as a photo booth, everyone loved it. AND SHE DID ALL OF THIS DURING COVID - with total grace in uncertainty, working with me changing my mind a million times and not knowing what we were going to do getting married in a pandemic, she pulled it off and IT. WAS. STUNNING. I will be singing her praises forever!

More than I imagined!
Melissa with Poppytree was so wonderful to work with. Her down to earth personality made her so easy to get along with and she brought my dream to reality. I do not know much about flowers, so I gave Melissa a couple pictures and colors I wanted and she ran with it... and I mean REALLY ran with it. Amazing wedding flowers!
We had the pleasure of working with Melissa and Lynda at poppytree for the flowers for our wedding this past weekend at Stablegate Barn.
From the very first phone call to the day of the wedding we felt completely comfortable and at ease with Melissa doing our flowers and they came out better than we even expected!
Melissa even made time to meet with us in person on a Sunday morning a few months prior to wedding. We were planning from out of town so it was very valuable to be able to go over specifics in person.
We would highly recommend poppytree for anyone looking for flowers for their event!

INCREDIBLE Artist and Person!!
Melissa was one of my absolute FAVORITE people to work with in this whole wedding process. I never thought I would really care much about the flowers at my wedding, and working with Melissa definitely changed that! Once the week of the wedding came, one of the things I was most excited to see were how the bouquets and centerpieces came out. My new husband and I cannot possibly say enough wonderful things about Melissa and Poppytree floral! Melissa is brilliant at her craft and after a quick peak at her designs and speaking to her for only a few moments, you will see that she has so much passion for her business and flowers that she can do nothing but make the most beautiful flowers for your special day. We worked very closely with Melissa, and I mean handpicking most flowers, to ensure that all of our ideas and colors were matched perfectly. She is patient, hardworking, and incredibly innovative. On the day of, Melissa helped all of the groomsmen with boutonnieres, all the bridesmaids/bride with how to properly hold their bouquets for photos, AND made a very last minute (as in four hours before the ceremony) design for indoors that we needed due to rainy weather. My flowers and floral décor far exceeded any expectation I ever had and quickly became one of my favorite things from our wedding day! They were exceptional. First and foremost, Melissa is an absolute creative genius. Her work speaks for itself but she is also so sweet, energetic, bubbly, and easy to work with. She is SO passionate about what she does and it really shows. My wedding theme was spring, so I knew I needed the flowers to be perfect. I took my wedding invitation design to Melissa when we met to finalize my proposal and she LITERALLY brought my invitation to life. My intention was for my bridesmaids to have blush dresses but when they came, they ended up being more peach. I was very concerned about this because I didn’t want a peach color scheme. Melissa somehow made the flowers work perfectly with the dresses while highlighting the actual colors that I wanted for my color scheme. I don’t know how she did that because I was sure that blush and peach would only clash, but the way she put the colors and textures together was absolutely brilliant. The way she was able to capture my vision was unbelievable and seeing my beautiful bouquet will forever be one of my favorite parts of my wedding day. I just can’t say enough about my experience!! Since I am not from the area, we were able to work together remotely via email and calls by sending images. We will cut right to the point; Melissa of PoppyTree Floral is awesome! Our wedding day was a nautical theme at the Old Daley on Crooked Lake and we knew we needed a florist who could pull off not only the color scheme, but also have the vision to incorporate nautical elements in each item. Melissa did just that and nailed it. Melissa is super fun and full of energy and creativity, which allows her to produce stunning floral arrangements and wedding elements. She helped us select the correct flowers and showed us how she would match our color pallet for the wedding along with some insight into the process. Melissa is very easy to get in touch with and detailed. On the day of our wedding, Melissa showed up early and began doing what she does best. She decorated the inside of the venue with her floral arrangements and began intricately putting the final nautical touches on bouquet’s and boutonnieres. We are not sure if this was Melissa’s first time dabbling into a nautical themed bouquet and boutonniere, but she pulled it off better than we could have ever imagined, like a true professional. I cannot say enough about our flowers and decor for our wedding thanks to Melissa from Poppytree! Melissa was the most accommodating and pleasant person to work with, she truly made my husband and I feel as though designing for our wedding was important to her! Melissa sat down with me on multiple occasions to go over my vision and make it come alive, which was incredibly hard seeing as I could picture what I wanted but couldn't articulate it at all! Melissa took the tiny amount of information I could give and turned it into the most beautiful ceremony and reception I could have ever imagined!! It was everything I ever wanted and more. I am so grateful we went with Poppytree for our wedding, and our guests are still talking about how original and different everything about the flowers were! Melissa, thank you so much for everything you did for us, you are incredible!

Even with hurricanes causing shipping issues, Melissa was able to pull her resources and figure out beautiful last minute alternatives. Her arrangements were beautiful, the bouquets were stunning and the ambiance she created with the tables made the room feel warm and personable. We knew we hired a true professional from the start!

WOW!!! There is not enough that I can say about Melissa at Poppytree Floral! We were completely blown away with unique and creative style...we have never seen anything like it before! Even our other vendors said that they had never seen the place so beautifully decorated before! She was completely professional, outgoing, and listened to what kind of setting we were trying to envision for our special day! It was also really nice to hear some of her suggestions about different types of flowers to use and the texture they brought out in our boutiques...she really knows her flowers!! And, not only did all of our flowers and arrangements blow us away, but she also had a ton of options for decorative pieces to really pull together the day! From an arbor, beautiful big lanterns at our ceremony, books for our "Story book" themed wedding, a vintage card box, and not to mention the 100 various glass cylinders that lined our entire room on the window sill with floating candles in it!! Such a beautiful and elegant touch! But that's what we were going for, believe me she had A TON of other things in her workshop that we were able to look at and touch and see if it was what we wanted. She really pulled everything together for us. She was so great to work with plus we noticed that she was working well with our other vendors that day to really pull things together for us "behind the scenes" to make sure everything went smoothly for us. Absolutely love Poppytree Floral...just check out the facebook page and her website and the pictures of her work speaks for itself :)

From the moment my sister and I met Melissa, we knew the search was over. Melissa created such beautiful, elegant vintage-inspired bouquets and centerpieces that completely elevated my venue, which is a huge feat since I got married at the oppulent Canfield casino. Here is a little story: For our last meeting together, we met at her shop to go over our vision and have her show us some of what she was thinking for centerpieces. So we pull up and send her a quick text that we are at the shop. Well, she pulls right in, with a car full of the most beautiful and fragrant lilacs I have ever seen! A bride of hers was getting married that weekend and the lilacs she ordered were the wrong shade of purple. So she had been out all day finding the perfect colors, and cutting them herself, to make sure her bride was happy. I knew in that moment that whatever she put together, it would be perfect. Everyone still talks about how amazing the flowers were at our wedding and I cannot thank Melissa enough! Thank you!

There are so many things Heather and I could say about Melissa and Poppytree Floral. Our entire wedding was based around "the meaning of flowers". We researched many florists in order to be sure that we found the one who could make our vision a reality. Melissa was 100% the right choice. She took our requests in stride while helping to shape our vision into something palpable and doable. She brought our dreams to life. Our goal was to have people walk in to the ballroom and smell flowers and that is exactly what happened. Hundreds of people said they were the most beautiful flowers they had ever seen, let alone at a wedding. Melissa was highly recommended by our venue, and we could see why. Her designs are absolutely beautiful, and set the stage for our winter wedding. From the start, Melissa was great to work with. She gave great suggestions, while at the same time taking into account our personal preferences. My guests were mesmerized with her creations for my table center pieces that she flawlessly executed for 24 tables and the fresh cut flowers for my wedding cake. My flower girls looked adorable in their flower crowns along with my ring bearers in their adorable boutonnières. My bridesmaids loved there bouquets and so did I! She decorated the arbor we rented for the ceremony so beautifully and it looked perfect for our outdoor ceremony on a lake. I highly recommend her for all of your wedding flower needs!

We met Melissa at a Bridal Show and from the moment I met her, I knew she was the right person to work with. I wish there was a better way to describe her work than the generic words "creative, and talented". She was easy to talk to, and was able to decipher what my vision was from pictures I had found on the internet and by my description of what I like. She had wonderful suggestions for how to make our ceremony space look and how to create unique arrangements for the reception. Her personal service was a blessing, she came and set up the flowers and checked in with me. The flowers were BEAUTIFUL and were better than I could have even imagined! Gorgeous, colorful, classic, elegant, lush, perfect; these are just a few words to describe our experience with Poppytree Floral Designs. Melissa was truly a pleasure to work with since the day we met her. From day one, I told Melissa that I was very unfamiliar with the names of many flowers and what flowers were "in bloom" during my wedding month. However, I told her that I wanted the flowers to be something guests remember about our wedding and a big part of our ceremony and decor for the reception. All I had was ideas on the colors I wanted and a handful of pictures from Pinterest. Melissa truly made our dream wedding come to life. She was SO organized from the very beginning and the most creative person I have ever met. She was so easy to contact when it came to adding more ideas/details to our centerpieces and ceremony. I was able to view every detail from my personal (bouquets, boutonnières), to the hanging baskets on the aisle chairs/arbor flowers - this included the colors and types of flowers she was placing and where. She made sure that every detail was one that we envisioned. I can't even count how many of our relatives and friends told us that the ceremony and reception flowers were beyond gorgeous - even guests who couldn't make it. It is very evident that Melissa truly loves what she does because she worked extremely hard to make our dream wedding happen. We are so happy we have the photos of the flowers to view for the rest of our life! It's also important to know that she has the greatest personality and I couldn't be happier with our decision to book Melissa Orth at Poppytree Floral Designs. About a month before our big day, we had a falling out with our florist and I was in panic mode looking for a new one (not to mention we were planning our entire wedding from SC). She was able to squeeze us in with no problems and work with our rather modest budget. She was a lot of fun to work with (even though it was over the phone and through email) and made it stress free. We didn't get to actually meet her until about 5 days before our wedding, but I knew we would end up with beautiful flowers just from all of our conversations and photos of her previous work. She is incredibly talented and we couldn't be more happy with our flowers.

We were a little late in the game when deciding on flowers, and by late, about two months before our wedding. When we met with Melissa, she didn't even blink an eye, and was just so excited to do a winter wedding. We came in with a few ideas about what we wanted, and she took those ideas and made them ten times better! The bouquets, boutonnières, and other floral decorations were gorgeous! She was very willing to work within our price range, and made sure that all the floral pieces she ordered were put to use at our venue. We would absolutely use her again!

I saw PoppyTree's work at our wedding venue tasting and immediately fell in love. I knew we had to hire her for our wedding. It is difficult to articulate what exactly I was looking for but somehow Melissa made the dream become a reality and I was blown away, speechless (A rare occurrence), and cried tears of joy when I saw the flowers and decor. I was so afraid of the flowers being boring and mundane, but she incorporated lots of fun things that added textural and color difference. They were 100 times better than I could have ever imagined. We got so many compliments on them and they have photographed perfectly. What amazed me is that it's a almost a couple weeks later and my bouquet is still alive and lovely!!!

Working with Poppytree Floral Designs was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I sent Melissa inspiration pictures and she took those and made my bridal bouquet better than I could've ever imagined. The quality of the flowers was unbelievable given how reasonable her prices were. I love that she uses herbs in bridal personal flowers. Melissa and Poppytree Floral exceeded our expectations! Seeing Melissa's work ahead of time, I was so excited to work with her. Her passion for floral design can be seen in her work and our wedding day was no exception. If that wasn't enough, she such a pleasure to work with. She carefully listened to the ideas I had, and truly wanted to get a feel for the style of wedding we were having. I am a slight control freak, but I let Melissa do her thing and work her magic! Walking into the room at our wedding, I was blown away. My now husband and I were so taken back by how beautiful and romantic and transformed this already incredible room looked. It is truly hard to put into words how happy we were. Melissa and Poppytree not only but hunted down a ton of mercury glass for us, but delivered everything to our venue, helped decorate the space, light the votives (and we had a lot), transport floral arrangements from the ceremony to the reception and so much more. Everyone has asked who did our flowers for our wedding and I am so excited to pass along Poppytree Floral Designs.

I had the best experience working with Poppytree for my wedding. Melissa was so kind and sweet, she came to my house for our first meeting, her passion for flowers was easy to see. I could not have been happier with Poppytree Floral. Walking out to my venue on my wedding day for the first time and seeing Melissa's beautiful creations, I was left breathless! From day one Melissa was an absolute pleasure to work with. We met a couple of times over coffee to talk about what I was looking for, and Melissa would frequently check in with an update on flowers or a picture of something she thought I would like (she managed to snag some great vintage bottles and toasting glasses at an antique show for us, and they made for great momentos!). They also created a gorgeous birch tree arbor that made an absolutely beautiful backdrop for our ceremony. While Poppytree is happy to work with your tastes, they have such great style that I felt completely comfortable putting it in their hands and letting them do their thing! Melissa is a really sweet person to work with, and you won't be disappointed with the magic she creates.

I don’t have enough words for how beautiful our wedding was thanks to the vision of Melissa and Poppytree Floral designs! When I walked into my reception space, all of my fears (did I pick the right flowers, colors, centerpiece size, did she understand those million emails i sent her?, etc) went completely out the window. As someone that once thought “I don’t need this I can get crafty and make centerpieces,” I am so happy to have realized the importance of a florist and to have chosen who we did. Both my husband and myself have talked about the arrangements of beautiful pink peonies many times in the past couple weeks since the wedding and would urge anyone needing decorative help and inspiration to call Poppytree. Melissa Orth at Poppytree did an amazing job at my wedding! I wanted a rustic, yet romantic feel, and she nailed it. She used lush romantic flowers with succulents in a variety of mason jars and it was beautiful. She also made our favors, which were mini succulents in tiny glass containers. We loved it!

Melissa and her team at Poppytree Floral Designs knocked it out of the park. I first met with Melissa over FaceTime when researching vendors and I immediately loved her energy and passion for floral design. A few months before my wedding I met Melissa in person and we went through my vision. She asked helpful question to really narrow in on my ideas. She was so helpful during the design process. She was also accommodating with working through my budget and finding areas for cost savings. On the day of my wedding, her blooms took my breath away. My bouquet was FLAWLESS and each arrangement I saw was STUNNING. She had filled in the "holes" at my reception venue meticulously and added items that I had not even thought of. The flowers transformed the space into an elegant, airy and whimsical escape. Melissa is a hard working professional and I truly enjoyed working with her. Melissa was wonderful. She knew my venue extremely well and knew what would work . She asked for my ideas/pictures but wasn't going to just copy - she made my ideas come to life. She built us a beautiful chuppah and was able to reuse those flowers on our head table. We did different centerpiece son our guest tables - all the centerpieces worked together to give us the rustic look we wanted. All our guests complimented on our flowers.

After reading all of the wonderful reviews for Melissa on WeddingWire we decided to book a meeting. At the end of our meeting we knew we didn’t want to keep looking for a florist, we booked her that very day! Melissa is so creative and passionate about her work. She truly brought to life our vision for our wedding and worked with our budget in mind. On our wedding day Erik and I looked down our head table at Melissa’s beautiful work and my husband whispered to me, “Worth every penny.” Her flower arrangements came out just stunning! Poppytree Floral was an absolutely dream to work with. We discovered Poppytree, and Melissa, at the Birch Hill Catering Bridal Show in March of 2015. In just a short conversation with Melissa we knew that we had to pick Poppytree as our florist. Both my husband and I were still in college about 4 hours away from the Albany area so meeting with Melissa was going to be difficult but she made it work in a Skype call. After finally graduating and meeting with Melissa in person it was clear that she totally understood our vision for the wedding. The night before the wedding Melissa was told we could not have open flame at the reception venue, but she handled it like a complete professional and made sure that enough fake candles were available. Melissa is an absolute rock star. Everything Poppytree touched looked absolutely beautiful and I would recommend to anyone getting married Poppytree Floral. Thank you again, Melissa!

Melissa was great and did a wonderful job with the arrangements. I was very surprised to not see her on my actual wedding day. From what I was told she dropped the flowers and bolted. I would have preferred to talk to her when she delivered the flowers. Also my bridal bouquet began to get droopy before the ceremony was over. I thought it was the type of greenery that she used but I've seen several other arrangements on her website that held up much better.I suspect that they were prepared well in advance of the wedding.

Melissa and her team created the perfect setting and not only listened to what we wanted, but also was able to change and update things last minute to accommodate a change in venue due to the weather.
