  She was great

  So when I got married I knew I had to have the most perfect DJ for my reception. Catherine was it! She was so pleasant to work with, eager to help and all around great. I highly recommend her!

  Amazing highly recommend!

  We wanted fun, laid back music that would get people out on the dance floor. Play Optic 100% delivered. They were easy to work with and everything was well executed! Our guests boogied all night long and had so much fun.

  Great wedding DJ!

  I was so pleased with Play Optic’s service at my wedding back in 2016! They were friendly, responsive, and I knew I could trust them day-of to handle all of our music, transitions, etc. Highly recommend!

  Made our party, OUR party!

  Catherine did an amazing job DJ-ing our wedding. She was super flexible through the planning process and helped make sure I rented the correct equipment for the extra set ups we'd need at our venue (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception). Music was something I knew I'd obsess over to make it "perfect" so I committed to handing it off to Catherine (after she asked for preferences of course) and that was the best decision. She did a great job of meshing my and my husbands styles and making sure the music not only fit our style but also the venue and formality of the occasion, while still being fun. As soon as the dance floor opened up it was full and it stayed that way until the reception ended. Play Optic DJ is affordable, professional, and made our night perfect!

  Do not do reviews but did a roundtable with daughter bridesmaid abd husband a year later and it truly was worst part of wedding, her attire her professionalism her sound system outside for pre wedding march her playlist that was given to her that she DID NOT FOLLOW her not announcing schdule in order sorry Catherine everything was very under par, price was reasonable but way over priced for what we got!!!

  Sorry you felt that way, but unfortunately it’s very hard to work with clients who do not provide their service folks the proper tools necessary for success (aka a proper playlist, timeline, etc. ). It’s also very difficult to work with a bride and groom who never actually communicated with me (both prior to and during the wedding) and was done entirely through their father. While I respect your all’s views, I strongly disagree with such strong hatred you have simply because you did not prep me ahead of time as asked and did not communicate well as needed. As a one woman show, this is truly disrespectful when I worked tirelessly trying to get your event to run smoothly when it was honestly chaos. Best wishes.

  Unprofessional and inaccurate

  Where to begin with Catherine. Our first meeting went great and we booked her immediately after. Her communication was direct and timely. We discussed that she needed our detail sheet around 30 days prior to the event when we booked her. She was paid in full way in advance. I sent final detail review on Sept 30th. (Wedding was on the 29th of October). Three days went by- no response. Sent a follow up email and text just to make sure she was getting said details. She responded to let me know she was busy and had not had the chance to look over it and she would get back with me early the next week. That time line comes and goes and I text her again entire week later on the 10th of October. She reminded me this was not her only job and told me she was in a wreck and everything has been delayed. Again told me earlier the next week. Cool- we waited. Time comes and goes and no message from her. I message to follow up on the 19th. No response. Fiancee messages the next day on the 20th as we are now 9 days out and have no idea if she was able to find our requests for songs and genres. She apologies to him that our "timelines do fit exactly." As well as reminding him that life has not been kind to her recently and she has other clients and other jobs so on and on.
  
  So 9 days out from my wedding she responds to me and lets me know our form needs more details and some clarification. Awesome- send it to her the same day. She has no further questions. I feel like she has my time stamps of when things need to happen and all music etc. Genres are picked and other than 2 songs requested everything else needs to fall under those genres.
  
  She does not follow through with what she says she will do and has 0 accountability. She was unprofessional and rude. She did not get the time stamp down for our recessional song. It was late and at the wrong spot. She stumbled on what our last name was for our announcement into the venue. The favorite bands were not played. Our genres request were also not followed at an acceptable ratio. Maybe 30% accurate. There were numerous times I was like wth is this? She sat cuddled up in a blanket the entire night and the select few dance songs requested was played close to the end when most people of of tiny wedding had already left.
  
  She did show up and clean up on time and her prices are cheap. I would've paid triple to avoid the stress of dealing with her and her still getting it wrong as well as the over all negative energy she brought. I delegated communication with her the day of to someone else because I felt like the entire exchange prior brought in bad energy to my big day. I was an extremely laid back bride. But I do hold people to a standard of following through when they say they're going to do something and she dropped that ball numerous times with several excuses. This brought in unnecessary drama and stress into the day. Life happens and things get insane. I would've much preferred her communicating with me when she told me she would and letting me know that she was still on top of things but they were delayed etc. I also do not feel like this is too much to ask of a vendor who is already fully paid for an event.
