Platinum Entertainment, AMAZING!

Platinum Entertainment was AWESOME! Tommy was very professional, had many suggestions as to what we could do since we didn't have a clue! We played a great newlywed game that kept our guests entertained and you know it's a great DJ when pretty much every single guest was dancing the ENTIRE night! I can't say enough about this company. I HIGHLY recommend!

Great dj for our wedding

Tom was great for our wedding! He played the songs that we requested and had amazing lights. His uplighting was fantastic and he even changed the dance floor lights all night for us!

Tommy DJ'ed my wedding last weekend. He was super accommodating, the website was very user friendly and he was able to pull in music not in his list. He walked us through everything and had people on the dance floor all night!! Everyone raved about how great the music was, and I think the fact that no one wanted to leave was a huge testament to him!

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! We are so happy we were able to book Tom H at Platinum Entertainment as DJ for our daughter's Sweet Sixteen party last weekend. From start to finish, it was an excellent experience. My daughter and her friends absolutely loved the pick & play option which had been set up prior to the party, ensuring their favorites would be played. The lighting was great, the music was awesome, and the kids were on the dance floor for four hours straight, barely stopping for pizza & cake! When we got home, the first thing our daughter said was "Thank you so much for getting me that DJ... He was the best!" ~ John & Kim

Tommy dj'd my wedding on December 5th and did an amazing job! He is very detailed to be sure you get exactly what you want for your occasion! I would definitely use him again for any occasion!

Found this company on the web, compared their responsiveness, prices, reviews to others. Chose them after they sent me link to my "personal page" on their site, where we could add our own detail as we so chose, make payments, select our songs (LOVES, LIKES, HATES). I loved the friendliness of the site, and the ability to add (or not add) that information. Turned out we made a great decision! Tom was extremely professional, timely, music was exactly as we requested it. He knew instinctively when to tone it down, and when to pump up the fun. The photo booth company he is affiliated with was also excellent, including the attendant. Friendly and professional :)

Tom Hawkins from platinum entertainment was our dj and he was awesome!! We were so happy with the planning tool that was provided to us, it made everything from choosing our dance songs to introductions and ceremony music incredibly easy. Tom was really nice and so great to work with. You can tell he takes pride in his work and he is really a great DJ. He perfectly blended into the background of our day playing a great selection of old/ new popular music and the dance floor was packed all night! Tom was always just an email away with any questions and made the entire planning process stress free and easy. I would absolutely recommend his DJ services to everyone planning a wedding and wanting a dj who is committed to making your special day flawless.

Tom Hawkins was incredible. Everyone complimented on what a nice variety of music he played. Our dance floor was never empty. Would use him if I ever needed a DJ again in the future. Will see him next weekend at my friends wedding!

Tom kept the dance floor packed the entire night My guests keep telling me how much fun they had and how their muscles hurt the day after from dancing so hard! The variety of music was perfect for both young and old. I can't recommend Tom enough! He really did make my wedding day the best day ever for me.

Working with Tom from Platinum Entertainment to coordinate our wedding DJ was easy and organized. Their online timeline and music organizer is very handy and makes the process very easy. Tom is always available by e-mail and answers all questions very promptly. We had one of our family members play piano for our ceremony and he was able to coordinate that without any hiccups. Our family and friends commended on his great service!

We really enjoyed using Tom at platinum entertainment for our wedding DJ and photobooth. His prices were so much better than many competitors and he brings years of experience and professionalism to every event. The online planning guide really streamlined the process start to finish.

I'm very happy with this DJ. He really brought a lot of energy to the wedding. I loved the games he did and really got everyone involved. I loved the uplighting around the room, it really made the room pop. I would recommend getting the uplighting and I don't regret it. Very pleased with the DJ!!!

We couldn't be happier with services that DJ Tom Hawkins provided for our wedding. He provided both the music for the outdoor ceremony and the reception music and MC/DJ services. Some highlights of working with Tom:
1) The transition from the ceremony to reception was so seamless. The music never stopped all night, and the ceremony music was exactly what we wanted. We also used his equipment for the ceremony (wireless mics etc.) and it worked perfectly!
2) There is an online wedding planner where you can put your song requests in. The song library is hugely extensive, but if there is any song that you want that is not listed (and we had a few special songs that are not wildly popular) Tom will get it for you to play at the wedding. This was so important to us; we were going to send him the song, and he had already downloaded it from the planner before we asked.
3) The dance floor was packed all night, in fact many guests (of all ages) kept coming up to say how much they were enjoying the music. I think he also played every song that we requested before the wedding, as well as being able to read the crowd and play requests from the guests.
4) Tom's pricing is very fair and transparent, and I never felt like he was trying to up-sell us, instead just provide a great service that we had agreed upon.
5) His M/C-ing was exactly what we wanted. He was also very accommodating for any special requests we had (announcements about why this song was special, or even to help coordinate a surprise song from the father of the bride). He was a true gentleman, and not at all over-bearing.

We wholeheartedly recommend DJ Tom Hawkins for your wedding or special event. He really helped us have the most wonderful day.

We love platinum entertainment! I've known Tommy for years now and every event I have been to which Tommy was DJing was a very fun and lively event. He knows how to keep the crowd on the dance floor and involved in the event. We wouldn't have wanted anyone other than Tommy DJing our wedding. Tom was a great DJ at my wedding and a pleasure to work with. He responded promptly and patiently to all of my questions, went over the schedule of events extensively to make sure we both understood it, and was very helpful in crafting the music for the day. I especially appreciated that he followed our overall theme but also gauged our guests the day-of (lots of aunts and uncles!) and catered to their tastes as well. One friend has already emailed to say how much he enjoyed the music and to request the cocktail hour playlist - he said it was so good that my fiance and I must have put it together track by track. Nope, Tom was responsible for the whole thing! I am so grateful to Tom for being so accommodating, professional, and for tying the whole wedding together. I will be recommending Platinum Entertainment to everyone I know for their special occasions, and hope that I will have a chance to work with them again in the future.

Tom was an absolute pleasure to work with. We met with him about 10 months before our wedding and we immediately chose him as our wedding DJ without interviewing anyone else. Tom knows what he's doing and it's very evident how passionate he is about music. What I liked most about Tom was his professionalism as well as his very likable personality. His experience over the years at various types of events allowed me to trust him and build a strong working relationship with him. He is so thorough with his work, and I should mention, very very reasonably priced. At the end of the wedding, I even had guests come up to me to say how much they loved the DJ/music choices. Tom worked so hard to give my husband and I the wedding we envisioned and I can't thank him enough. No one likes a wedding where there is lame music and little to no dancing. Thanks to Tom the dance floor was filled the entire night! Tom was so attentive to our needs that it would be impossible not to want to recommend him to others. He brought so much light and happiness to our special day!

We hired Tommy as our DJ for our August outdoor wedding. Tommy was wonderful and did a great job playing a variety of music that catered to all ages. Glenn Kinney was the D.J. who did not simply "host" our wedding--he created an unforgettable experience. Can't say thank you enough to our wonderful DJ Tom Hawkins!!! I can't begin to express how happy we were with the music for the entire day. Tom worked behind the scenes prior to the wedding to allow our guests to do a flash mob at the reception which amazingly remained a surprise to us until the actual performance. He also worked with our daughter so that she could sing our first dance song. There wasn't anything that we asked for that we didn't get and I can not think of one thing I would have asked him to do differently other than make the wedding last longer :-) Thank you Tom!! Tom ( Our DJ ) was very responsive thru out our experience with Platinum. Went over all aspects of what was going to happen AND what we wanted . ( certain songs, Newlywed Game, Entrance, etc)He met with us repeatedly whenever we had questions and made us feel comfortable, quite professional. The EVENT was a blast and family and friends told us how much fun they had ! WE SOOOO enjoyeed it , and OUR day was awesome ! The event flowed with great music, games, and dances. ( chicken dance was fun, everyone got up) My dance with my mom and with my wife was SO memorable. We enjoyed having Tom from Platinum Entertainment with us for our elementary school's Fall DANCE-A-THON very much! He was prompt, professional, and family-friendly - just what we were looking for for this event! The music was great and everybody commented on what a fun addition the lighting was! Chris did an amazing job DJing our wedding. He was very helpful and informative prior to and during our wedding. We had a lot of questions about music and how everything would work and the answers/opinions we received were perfect! He made it a point to meet with us leading up to the wedding so we could go over every little detail and make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it to be. And then on the day of the wedding he not only served as our DJ, he was like a second wedding coordinator. He was on top of everything making sure that everything stayed on schedule so that my wife and I could enjoy our wedding day. As if that wasn't enough the music selection was awesome. We received a lot of compliments from our guest saying it was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding and I honestly say that Chris was a big part of making that day so much fun and so memorable. I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for a great DJ.

My wife and I are more than thrilled with the service Platinum Entertainment provided. We were delighted to have Tom Hawkins as MC. Our goal was to have the music we wanted on our special night without an overbearing presence by our DJ. Goal was met, and then some. Tom was active, lively and well spoken throughout the introductions, and was great at prompting us through the different transitions of the evening.

Platinum Entertainment was a perfect match for what we were looking for, and was one of many necessary ingredients to our perfect wedding!

Hi Tom, Mary and I can’t thank you enough. Everything turned out perfect. As you know, we had the difficult task of planning our Massachusetts wedding all the way from Tennessee. Your detailed online planner, music requests, and event timeline planner, made our music planning not difficult at all. We also appreciate all of the attention and help you gave us, calling back or answering emailed questions right away, as well as fulfilling and working with all the special requests we made. We were especially impressed with the way you handled our special time lined music requests for our ceremony out in the middle of a golf course, then rushing back into the hall to handle the reception music, and all without missing a beat. The afternoon was exactly what we had planned, from the special announcements and requests, to playing the kind of music we wanted, hyping others up in your secret ways with being able to get everyone up on the dance floor, all while keeping the timeline as we wished to the letter. We appreciate all of your help, and pure professionalism that made our Special Day “wicked awesome”.

Tom Hawkins was wonderful! We had a lot of different kinds of music we wanted to play at the reception including 90s, current music, salsa and some classics and he did a great job of getting them all played at the reception! There were always people on the dance floor. The online planner is awesome and easy to use. You fill it out before the wedding and then review everything with him before, this really helps everything go smoothly. He was responsive to all our e-mails. Any songs we wanted played that he didn't have in his library we simply sent him through e-mail and it was no problem! I would recommend Tom to any bride.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the services provided. It was nice that we were able to choose music before the event, and also while the event was in progress. The variety of music was outstanding. I have had to hire a DJ for another event and I'm sorry that I didn't know about Platinum Entertainment then, as we were very disappointed in that DJ's services. If ever I need an DJ again there is no doubt that I will be contacting Platinum first.

We had to switch our venue 3 weeks before the event and it wasn't and issue at all. Tom was so easy to deal with, we didn't have that many people show up to our reunion but he kept it fun with his music selection and talking with the crowd. Everyone had a great time, I know Ill be using him from now on with any of my events.

Our wedding would not have been as incredible with out Platinum Entertainment! The DJ was well organized, professional and created such a positive and fun atmosphere for all of our guests. The dance floor was NEVER empty and our guests were frequently entertained with interactive games! People keep telling us what a great time they had and I think we owe that to Platinum Entertainment. Tom Hawkins was great! From the very beginning he was prompt in returning my correspondence and provided us with the tools to make our wedding music selection as smooth as possible. Tom was even able to get us a few songs for some of our special moments even though they were not in his music library. I remember getting off the phone with him after our final consultation thinking if he is as good and attentive to detail as he was just now our wedding will rock…and it far exceeded those expectations, it ROCKED! I would recommend the newlywed game to everyone and the soul train dance. I liked the fact that we could choose our own songs for the event. Tom was very professional and a pleasure to have at our wedding.

Tom Hawkins was everything a DJ should be. He worked with me from beginning to end and was very flexible and responsive. I loved the website he offered to customize the music selection and create a timeline for the evening. My wedding guests are still talking about how wonderful he was. Made the night flow smoothly from one event to the next so I didn't even have to think about it, I knew he had it covered. You will not find a better DJ than Tom! Tom provided the entertainment for our Sept. 2011 wedding. He was very professional, followed up on all calls promptly and was the one to track us down as the time got close and things got busy.
The music selections were dead on for the cocktail and dinner hour. Most importantly was able to read what kind of songs the reception needed at the right times. We were kind of leary about the Newlywed game but loved it and got a lot of laughs! When my groom blew out his knee on the dance floor, Tom was able to read when to quiet the music, then slowly started it back up and got everyone back out dancing. Our cousins bought a giant stuffed banana at a yard sale next door to the church, and he helped them incorporate it into a surprise conga line that everyone joined in. He even let our 8 year old son help him run some of the equipment. He was accomodating, did his job and did it well, and left all the focus on the two of us. This was the second time that we saw Tom as he also DJ'd my brother's wedding and I couldn't have been more impressed with how the evening went. A DJ can easily make or break a wedding and I can't tell you how many people said that they danced all night and simply loved the DJ's music selection.

Platinum Entertainment is the only way to go! We got married on June 11, 2011 and Greg Hoyt was our DJ...he was AWESOME. He played all the right music to get our guests on the dance floor and was in contact with us the entire way on what needed to happen and when. By far he was the easiest and best vendor we worked with and we would strongly recommend Greg for your wedding. Matt and I can't thank you enough! In the months prior to the wedding, the website made the planning of the evening and music selection super easy. The DJ was were extremely helpful with our questions...and we had plenty. We could not imagine our wedding day without DJ Tom Hawkins of Platinum Entertainment. We are so thrilled that he was part of our "big" day. The night was PERFECT! The music selection was phenomenal throughout cocktail hour and dinner. Everyone...and I mean everyone (from great aunts to co-workers) were on the dance floor. Friends and family are still commenting on how great the DJ. As any Bride knows, picking your wedding DJ is one the most important and stressful decisions you make while planning your perfect day. Well, rest assured that if you choose Tom Hawkins, you will not be disappointed. Tom was our DJ for our wedding in Nashua, NH on August 27, 2010 and he was absolutely amazing! I could not recommend him more highly. My husband and I have two huge Irish Catholic families and Tom had EVERYONE on the floor the entire night. Even as the evening wound down at 12:30 am, the dance floor was still packed. Tom even acquiesced their cheers for "one more song." One of the things I liked most about Platinum Entertainment was their event planner system. Basically, my husband and I were able to highlight some songs we really liked and note dedications as well as block those songs we did not want played. Tom listened to all of our input and did not play any songs on our "block" list. Most importantly, Tom was exceedingly nice and professional and truly made our night perfect. First of all, we would like to thank all the people who wrote their testimonials about Tom before we decided to hire him. He was the only vendor we hired that was not referred to us by a friend or family member, but he had so many great recommendations that we decided to go for it. And we are so glad we did! From A to Z during the months leading up to the wedding, Tom was friendly, accommodating, communicative and helpful. As we have very specific music tastes, we appreciated his very developed website which was a great tool for us when selecting all of the songs we wanted played. Our wedding was an international one (the bride is American and the groom is French), and we wanted to make sure that there was some French music played during the reception. Tom was very open to this idea and offered to have us make him a CD of the French songs we wanted played, which he flawlessly integrated into the playlist during the evening - it was a very appreciated personal touch! We are also musicians, which meant that part of the night was devoted to a live set played with some of our friends and family, and Tom graciously offered to let us use his microphone and sound system. We were so surprised and pleased when we saw that even some of our older guests stayed late to participate in the dancing, and so much of that had to do with the great music. Many of our guests have told us since the wedding how much FUN they had, which is exactly what we hoped for during our planning. We loved Tom and would recommend him to anyone looking to throw a great party that everyone will be sure to remember!

Platinum Entertainments MADE our wedding! Tommy Hawkins was nothing short of amazing. He knows how to keep the crowd on the dance floor and involved in the event.—no one left the dance floor all night! You know you had a fun filled wedding when I my in-laws wanted to know how to extend the party and keep it going--- people were leaving bummed to go home. I really wanted everyone to have a good time and have our wedding be us, and Tommy allowed us to do just that!! Besides the amazing music, we had the photobooth , uplighting and the Gobo Monogram and WOW, it made our wedding! The photobooth is a blast and his attendants were very professional and helpful throughout the entire night. My Gobo monogram was customized for my husband and very special to me. Tommy was able to create exactly what I dreamt of and when it was projected on our tent ceiling with the colored uplighting, it finished the “look of the wedding” I dreamt of! Choosing DJ Tom Hawkins for our wedding was one of the best planning decisions we made for our big day. Not only was he professional, but he went out of his way to make sure that we were kept in the loop on things that popped up throughout the night, and he even made time to personalize the music based on our interests. (Nice touch with the Muppets Rainbow Connection song!) amazing DJ, meeting with us a couple weeks before the event to make sure we were all on the same page in regards to what type of music we wanted, the important songs and the things we could live without. Most importantly EVERYONE had fun at the reception, and most of that credit goes to Chris. He moved the night along smoothly, playing an excellent mix of music at dinner so that people could carry on conversations and chose a good mix of music for the open dance. He worked with the event planner at the reception site and the photographer we selected to make sure that everyone had fun.

While our colors were red and black, our photographer had recommended against red uplighting, so we chose blue uplighting. The uplighting was BEAUTIFUL, I didn't think Skymeadow's reception hall could be more beautiful than it already was.

The online musical list was extremely helpful in planning our day. The DJ knew exactly what music to play during each specific special moment. We created a list of 50 songs for our "Love it", to be played during the dancing portion of our reception. Unfortunately, our DJ only played maybe five songs from that list. Our guests were very happy with the music that was played, but it was not the music my husband and I had chose. Also, our DJ played a song we specifically told him not to play, so that was a disappointment. He was very professional and everything worked out fine, but I would have liked my picks to be played, not his.

No real issues with the company. I think their prices are far better than other companies. But the DJ that I had turned out to not be great. His first name was Glenn (I prefer not to list his last name). I met with him in person, he seemed like a nice, quite guy who clearly understood that I did not want anything tacky and that I wanted minimal talking and NO games. At the wedding he started singing when I cut the cake (AWFUL and super tacky) and he had never mentioned that he intended to do that. I've never been to a wedding before where the DJ does that. I had to mouth to him several times to stop. Then at some point when people were actually up and dancing he had men line up on one side of the room and women on the other and played some stupid song and I'm not even sure what the point of the game was but I was furious. I had specifically indicated that I did not want any games! I was just surprised at how much he talked and seemed to neglect what we had talked about. On the positive side though, he did pronounce everyone's names correctly (including some difficult ones), so that was a good start to the night.

Greg took a long time to return our calls, and we had a hard time coming up with a date to meet. When we did have a time/place set- he cancelled last minute (like 20 minutes before we were supposed to meet, after we had allready started driving the 30 minute distant to meet 1/2 way between our house and Lowell- we were a little put off that he couldn't come to see where our wedding would take place, or even drive to meet us in our area.) We were understanding in that it was a family issue- though rescheduling was a hassel and we ended up meeting on Memorial day.

We thought your company had country experience, and that is not the case at all. Keith and I went through and ended up requesting about 7 hours of songs (essentially giving Greg the complete playlist for our wedding) because 2 weeks prior to our wedding we found out he had very little to no experience with country music (per his words) . 4 days before my wedding, I was asked to sort the music into cocktail hour, dinner, and dance music. So essentially, we payed $775 to give someone an entire playlist of songs, and when to play them. I could have just plugged in my ipod.

I will not recommend Platinum Entertainment to friends, and would like a refund of at least the deposit. The hours that Keith and I put into requesting/creating a playlist, and then 4 days prior to the wedding- sorting each song, should be noted. Not to mention the terrible response time from Greg.

Nobody danced at my wedding- no one, other than myself and sister and 2 cousins to about 3 songs! Granted, we provided horseshoes for our guests to play, so perhaps they were preoccupied, but as far as encouraging guests to the floor- the attempt wasn't even made.

Also, not sure what happened with the centerpiece giveaway, but I was left with all but 1 centerpiece at the end of the night- they were supposed to be given away to the person with the closest birthday to the wedding.
