  A magical venue

  Planters Inn and Peninsula Grill did a fantastic job hosting my daughter’s wedding. The setting was magical, with the lush courtyard under the twinkling lights. The food was outstanding, and the service impeccable. Everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. Abby was so wonderful over the year of planning. She answered all my questions and demonstrated knowledge and care throughout the process. She made the whole experience easy and fun.

  Perfect Small-Wedding Venue!

  We found the Planter's Inn while searching for a small, intimate wedding venue in downtown Charleston. From our initial conversations with the coordination team, we knew this was the perfect venue for our October wedding in this beautiful city. The outdoor and indoor spaces were perfect sizes for our 40 guests, the ambiance of the courtyard and the Garden Room fit our style and decor, not to mention the Charleston-esque style of the Inn itself! The food from the Peninsula Grill was top-notch, and the coconut cake lives up to its legendary hype. We would highly recommend the Planter's Inn to anyone who is looking to host a small and intimate wedding, needs the support of a great onsite coordination team, and is looking for a phenomenal meal to serve yourselves and your guests. This venue will always be a 10/10 in my book!

  Better than Perfect!

  The Planters Inn is the perfect spot for a smaller wedding. We loved the atmosphere of the venue and how fitting it would be for our guests. The food was incredible and we of course had the infamous coconut cake as our wedding cake! Abby was a wonderful resource for us and always answered any questions we had.

  Absolutely astounding service! Everyone made us feel so welcome & special!

  Outstanding service! Our event planner Abby was the sweetest most accommodating person ever. If we hit a road block, she still went out of her way to make it happen. The venue itself was so beautiful and the food was more than a meal it was an experience. Spectacular is all I can say!

  STUNNING event venue and hotel to stay in/get ready in!

  We had our ceremony and reception at the Planters Inn, we also stayed in one of their suites that weekend and got ready in the bridal suite. We were blown away to say the least, everyone was so professional and accommodating, the day of the wedding was gorgeous and the food was out of this world!! The guests thought the night was magical and so did we!

  Chelsea Dentlar of the Planters Inn was a dream, delight to work with and her execution of all matters from day 1 to the wedding day was superb. Her suggestions of Tiger Lilly (Gayla) and Eventhaus (Eniky) were perfect. Our experience with The Planters Inn from service to the courtyard and garden room to the menu coming alive throughout the afternoon and evrning, could not have been better. We couldn't be more pleased or thankful.

  We loved having our wedding and reception all at Planters Inn for about 75 people. Rachel Sneed is amazing! Before we booked the venue, we absolutely adored her. She is EVERYTHING you want in a local on site person to help you through the many details. While Planters Inn did not officially give many of our things such as band and photography, Rachel was always ready with great advice of who to contact. I hope Planters Inn realizes all that they have in her. Gorgeous place for a wedding. All of our guests had a fantastic time.

  Best service and food ever! Beautiful as well!

  We had our daughters wedding here and it was a fairytale! The lighting and fountain courtyard was the prettiest charleston location, above all other plantation venues the city atmosphere was a true highlight. The wait staff is undeniably the best I've ever seen anywhere! They we so attentative to guests and we received so many compliments on Planters Inn.

  Beautiful venue despite construction being done at the time of my wedding. The courtyard was perfect and the room was a great size for a group of <100.

  I really enjoyed my reception in the ballroom and courtyard of Planter's Inn. It was very intimate and elegant.
  The food was very good and beautifully presented. The service during the evening was impeccable.
  Rachel, the new planner, was great, but Chris, the food manager, was the person who made the night go so smoothly. He was very professional and assured us that we would not have to worry about a thing that night.
  They were flexible and receptive to our ideas for the events of the night. Normally, they do not allow music out in the courtyard, but they did for us, so we had our first dances outside under string lights (HIGHLY recommend stringing a few strands of italian lights across the courtyard!).
  We used their sound system in the ballroom for music. We burned our own cds and only had to press start on their 6-cd player.
  In our last meeting, we brought our centerpieces and candles and showed Rachel how to set them up, and she did it for us on the day of! Very easy!
  The biggest, and really only, disappointment was the cake. It looked beautiful, but it was dry and bland. It tasted as though it had been made a week before. I am not sure what happened as they have a pastry chef, but it was a really disappointing end to the dinner. Perhaps the coconut cake is their most popular because it's all the chef can do well! Since Planters does not do ANY tastings (big mistake in my mind), we got the wedding cake kit from Publix, which was fabulous, and picked our flavors from there. In hind sight, we should have gotten the cake from there and paid the cutting fee. After my mom complained, they reduced the price of the cake, but it was still not competitive with Publix.
  All in all, I am very happy with our reception at Planter's Inn. It is very expensive, but it is very elegant, and the food is good.
  Recommendations: chicken/filet and crab, She crab soup, brie passed h'ors deurves, string lights in courtyard, sparklers for send off, and carriage for get away!
