On our big day, Janay was focused, professional and attentive behind the lens and so much help and fun, every step of the way. Her enthusiasm for capturing our wedding, the city, and us, from formal to informal ”live shoots” was exhilarating, From the moment she snapped the first shoot to the last, she kept us motivated throughout the entire day. Guiding us like a Broadway director with vision, she captured our “perfect vision” of the day.

We are from the UK and came to get married in our favourite city in the world. The day beforehand had gone about as bad it possibly could. We were running late due to this by about half an hour. We let Janay know this as soon as we could. When we turned up though Janay immediately went above and beyond to help us feel relaxed. She was happy and welcoming and so much fun to spend time with. My nerves and sadness just melted away and she is a photographer not a Brides Best Friend but that day, to me, she most certainly was. She generally lets you just go about the day in your own way whilst you are there and shoots away capturing the most lovely, intimate photos of you. A lot of the ones we didn't pose for are my favourites. Janay is very good at knowing what will make a good photo and not being from New York we wanted photos that showed the typical New York sites. They are beautiful but also urban and we love them. Janay is great with communication and on the day Janay just shined. She had us laughing and kept us entertained. I'm so glad we picked Janay for our photographer and I only wish she was closer for the many happy adventures we are bound to share together in the future. Value, professional, amazing quality and such a lovely woman; I highly recommend Janay for any and all event photography. You won't regret it. Janay gave us such great advice on our schedule, was so easy to work with, and of course the pictures were wonderful! Overall, Janay was by far the best investment we made at our wedding, she was the only vendor that went out of her way even though we didn’t pay her the full rate because she gave us a military discount, we never once felt she gave it less than 100%. -

Janay made us feel extremely relaxed and made the experience fun for us. We hate having our photos done but she made it feel like a breeze. She responded quickly even considering the time difference from the U.S to the U.K. -

We first met Janay for our engagement photos, and wanted to do a test run with her before we officially booked our wedding with her. As soon as our shoot was over, we booked her on the spot for our wedding because she was SO MUCH FUN to work with. We hadn't gotten our photos back yet, but we knew she was a perfect match for us. We got our engagements back so fast, and the only hard part was narrowing down our favorite to only one to use on the save the dates! I saw Janay for my bridal portraits only 3 days before my wedding (we live in a different state and that was the earliest we could get there for the wedding). We had a BLAST! She's like a NINJA energizer bunny! She's everywhere at once, and it's like she sees everything in slow motion and can catch you at just the right moment with the perfect lighting! We never had to wait around and wonder what poses to do, she had me going non stop with tons of different poses and locations. At the end of our shoot, I asked her (since it was so close to the wedding) if she could just pick one bridal pic that didn't need much work to pick for the reception table, and instead, she edited over 50 photos, and gave me them ALL to choose from in less than 48 hours! The bridal photos were TO DIE FOR! I couldn't wait for all my friends and family to meet her because honestly she (and my dessert buffet) were my favorite part of the wedding and I knew they would all LOVE her. I saw her going all over the place, but at the same time I wasn't even aware she was taking photos of us. When we left the reception in our getaway car, I later found out Janay was in the back seat of the car taking photos of us before we drove away and we didn't even notice!! She's amazing!! My entire family was in love with her. The next day they were all ranting and raving about how fun and energetic she was. BOOK HER NOW! You'll be SO HAPPY! -

My daughter can't stop showing her wedding photos to everyone. The photographer included a gorgeous little wooden Usb that my daughter sent to me. As a single parent Handling a majority of the wedding bills I wanted someone within our small budget yet professional and I'm very pleased. I highly recommend this young lady. -

The day of the wedding was the coldest day of the year! We were supposed to have 1 hour of photos but it was too cold. Janay came the following day to our reception for no extra charge and took photos for more than 1 hour! -

Meet this young lady while she was shooting another wedding at The Marriage License Bureau. Loved how down to earth she seemed. After getting her card from her and exchanging a few emails/texts I booked her.
I let Janay know it would be just my partner and I and she volunteered to be our witness. All in all our photos came out beautifully and we made a new friend. -

We worked with Janay to take pictures of our civil ceremony and I couldn't have been happier with her energy, the pictures, the locations she knew of - beautiful scenic places in the city that not many people know about - and the quality of the pictures! She made our special day beautiful. My family members on the west coast who couldn't make it to my wedding felt as though they were there with us. I would recommend pixel perfect photography 100 times over. -

My now Husband and I decided to have someone photograph our elopement. Janay was available and helped to make some last minute arrangements.
She met us at our hotel and started shooting right away. It was nice to have a city hall pro to break down the procedure.
Even though our ceremony was only 5 minutes long Janay made our wedding day feel so important.
Oh and our friends and family love the little iphone app she made. Very cool! -

Janay was a wonderful photographer. When my (now) husband and I decided to semi-elope to NYC we knew we wanted a photographer. After lots of online searching I came across Janay's site & realized that her style was the perfect fit for us. When we met her on the day of our city hall ceremony she was as friendly and upbeat as could be. She made us feel completely at ease throughout all of the pictures. I LOVE Janay and Carlos!!! They were AWESOME!!! They came down to our beach wedding in North Palm Beach Florida all the way from NY!!! Lol. Janay helped me on my wedding day in more than being a photographer. She helped to calm me in my crazy moments and also when my MOH wasn't able to be my go to person. Janay and her partner were incredible!!!!!!!! I have no words for how amazing they were. We asked for almost all candids and she showed us some as she took them that were great before editing. Janay was helpful, super friendly,calming and as a result got the true story of my daughter and her new husband as they were married. She caught everything going on, all of the unexpected moments, and seemed to be everywhere all of the time. She made suggestions and asked for any requested photos or ideas we had for what we wanted her to take. Mostly her just shooting as she watched the wedding was the overall best choice. I would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding since she is also willing to travel (we had her come to the Boston area from New York) and her fees can't be beat!! Just call her and you will see how great she is!!!!!!! -

I really enjoyed having Janay photograph my recent wedding. She was very friendly but still professional. I was glad she was able to wrangle everyone for those big family photos! She was easy to get a hold of, and super easy to work with. I didn't feel stressed about getting my picture taken at all! And I didn't even notice her for the most part during everything else, which is always great for a photographer. I would definitely recommend her!
Also she does travel a bit - she came down to Maryland to photograph my wedding - so if you're not in NYC don't let that dissuade you from contacting her! -

Janay and her team at Pixel Perfect Photography were hands down one of the best vendors at our wedding. She was extremely helpful leading up to the day, and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our wedding day special. Lines of communication were always kept open, prices were reasonable, and at the end of the day, both the engagement photos and the wedding day photos came out gorgeous! Janay was truly a pleasure to work with at our city hall ceremony. We hired her on the spot as she instantly impressed us with her flexibility and commitment to helping us photo-document our day! She's passionate about her art, and with a bright attitude and humor, she put us instantly at ease. She taught us how to position our feet, hands, and to pose in a non-awkward way that I think really enhanced the quality of the aesthetic in our photos. The photos that she captured of me with my now husband are exactly what I hoped for, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to other couples getting married at city hall. It was clear that she was experienced and new where inside and around that area of Manhattan to take the best shots of newly wed couples. Thank you so much Janay! -

Janay was very cool and fun to work with. She is very nice and authentic. Her can do attitude won us. Early in the morning, she has a lot of energy to keep you guys going. She knows what she is doing and she goes the extra mile helping you on the ins and outs of NY City Hall Weddings. She is a good find and her services are worth every penny. We are very lucky to have hired her on our wedding day.
I'd encourage her to be clear on what she needs the couple to do, on poses, etc. I am not originally from here, so there may be a bit of barrier on me understanding what she needed me to do. I'd say everyone can improve on their photo capturing skills as well.
Some of the shots are blurry. Perhaps because we were moving. -

Janay was an amazing help during my planning process.
Being a first time bride planning a Diy wedding I needed all the help I could get.
She didn't charge any additional fees for coming so early to capture my prep and stayed till the dance floor lights came on.

Our wedding ceremony photo shoot was 3 hrs but since the weather was incredibly bad, Janay was very kind to offer us a second photo shoot at no cost. The pictures come out really nice. She made the shooting fun. We were laughing the whole time. We highly recommend her.. -

Janay takes wonderful photos- very professional with her work. There were a few things that could have been better. For instance, I had paid for 2 photographers but only Janay showed up. I was informed the day of the wedding that there would be only one photographer that day. Response time was a bit sluggish in our correspondence, but I was never ignored. However, Janay did recompensate by taking time to come back to Boston and do my maternity photos. She is very sweet, sincere and hardworking. The amount of photos she provided as a solo photographer made up for the lack of the second photographer. The quality of her work was also wonderful. I would definitely recommend her. Everyone who saw my photos couldn't believe how affordable she was since the quality was great. -

I have to preface that our wedding was short notice (1 month in advance.) We emailed dozens of photographers in the NYC area that specialize in city hall weddings based on their website. Pixel Perfect Photography responded right away and accepted our date and we set up a time. Within a few days a contract was drawn up and the invoice was paid. She states she will be contacting us a week poor to the wedding to finalize ideas. Then communication stopped. I emailed, texted and called. I always seem to reach at the 'wrong' time or I never received a response. During this time I began to dig deeper into reviews on the company. It was very negative and some 'scam' claims were made. I was panicking. Two days before our wedding, our best man sent an email to Pixel Perfect and we finally received a response confirming our wedding date/time and reference info from previous clients. At this time, I was holding my breath.
The day of the wedding came and Janay was right on time. She was very warm and friendly. There were many photos taken and she was great with direction. I had a wedding party present and she made sure everyone was included and the pictures we wanted were taken. It was extremely cold that day, but Janay granted our wishes to take pictures throughout NYC and the Brooklyn Bridge. Being that it was so cold we had to cut our time short. Janay offered to make up the time by doing a photoshoot throughout NYC the following day. That photoshoot was amazing. My husband and I loved the professionalism Janay and her assistant displayed. We finally breathed easy.
Less than two weeks later she sent us a mobile app link, the previews were beautiful. We were so excited to receive the rest. Then the communication stopped. We finally received our wedding photos almost three months later. Our wedding was in November and we received them in February. But the final product was what we wanted. Lots of ups and downs, but overall we are happy.

Janay and Carlos are a great couple.. and leading up to my event they were very responsive, professional, friendly.. I ended up using them for my open photobooth instead of my wedding photographers. They were great and lots of people were coming to the photobooth.. the only issue was there was a delay in getting the pictures printed and giving them to the guest.. some of the guest ended up waiting all night and not getting their photos... but the real issue for me was after the wedding.. I have been calling, emailing and texting since December my wedding was November 2013 (I have received 3 emails since then).. update I have not received anything from them and it is now May 2015. I have constantly emailed, texted, facebook message, called and have not received a response. What was worse was I had to find out at the wedding that they moved to NEW YORK. They did honor their commitment and do my wedding which was in Miami where they were initially located. I have not received any of my pictures nor a USB with the pictures. I didn't receive an apology nor answer as to why I don't have any photos from the photobooth . I didn't to come and bash them but I feel that it is terrible customer service to not answers customers nor produce any pictures from the event and I wanted to share my honest opinion and I wouldn't want any couple to go through the stress of trying to reach a vendor that is non responsive. -

First met Janay over Skype because she lives in NY and we live in Florida. She was very nice & friendly. We quickly decided she would be the right photographer for our wedding.
However, a week before the wedding she wanted to charge us extra for travel and tax, when we had signed a contract for a specific amount. In the end, she decided to honor the price on the contract and not charge extra.
Her 2nd photographer, wore shorts & a cap throughout my wedding which I found very unprofessional. I didn't bring it up when I first saw him because I had a lot going on already.
The worst, was when we saw the pictures. Lots of the family pictures were blurry. While taking the pictures, she was doing it quickly and I mentioned at one point, "are you sure the pictures are coming out ok because we are going fast". She reassured me they were good. Turns out they were not.
Then, there were no pictures of when guest first went into the reception. The 2nd photographer was specifically supposed to take pictures of the guest as they walked into the reception and filled out wedding notes & got their table #s. There were no pictures of this at all. Makes me wonder where he was this whole time.
When we spoke to Janay about the blurry family pictures, she apologized and said she would sent us some free 8*10 prints. We never received the free prints.
She also said to send her a USB, she would upload the pictures and send it back to us. We sent her the USB, never heard back from her and never received it back. Thankfully, we had already downloaded pictures from her website, or we wouldn't have had any.
She wouldn't return our emails or phone calls. So eventually we just stopped trying to contact her.
Even with the issues we had, I would have given her the benefit of the doubt, as thing just happen sometimes and we did get some nice pictures. But with the way she ended our relationship, it just shows there is no professionalism from Janay and her company. -

Do not hire Janay. Even though she was great the day of the wedding (great attitude), I still have yet to receive my wedding album and she has not responded to several emails and phone numbers. It is now nearly a year later and I haven't been able to get in contact with her. She refuses to respond to my emails or return my phone calls. If I do not hear from her soon, I will be taking her to court for breach of contact. DO NOT BOOK. -

It's been 3 months and I still haven't received the photos. Mind you, she's not making a photobook for me or something, just editing photos. It really shouldn't take this long. What's worse is that she doesn't respond to calls, emails, or Facebook messages. I could be more understanding if I knew the actual situation. But right now, I feel cheated.
It's unfortunate because she was great day of.

HORRIBLE!!!!! Called for months after wedding, with NO response at all. It took her almost half a year to complete wedding photos! NO respect for clients! DO NOT BOOK! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! They nearly ruined my wedding day (the only reason they did not is because I had friends and family step in to take pictures). Janay was nowhere to be seen the time she stated she would be at my home to take pictures of me getting ready. She did not respond to my or my friends' attempts to contact her. Finally, sometime during the reception, she made contact stating she had been in a car accident and that she would work on getting there to take pictures of what was left of the reception. Contract clearly states, "In the unlikely event of the photographer is unable to complete the coverage due to unforeseen circumstances, the photographer reserves the right to appoint another photographer to attend on his behalf to undertake the photography." She never showed up nor sent anyone else. Given I felt bad she had reportedly been in a car accident, I waited until the next month to contact her to inquire about a refund. She told me that my e-mail had ended up in a wrong folder, and that prevented her from getting back to me. I have not heard from her since despite e-mails (where I kindly stated I was fine with a payment plan), texts, and making phone calls. I waited several months before writing this review because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. After I read some other posts on here, I realized- I WAS SCAMMED! I have no professional wedding pictures. Again, do not hire this company! -
