Amazing Venue: Greystone at Piedmont Park

We are so happy that we got married at The Greystone at Piedmont Park through the Piedmont Park Conservancy! From the beginning, communication was wonderful with Jane Rollo. She promptly returned our inquiry and we set up a tour for several of the venues managed by the conservancy. We immediately fell in love with The Greystone at Piedmont Park and booked for our wedding! It was a joy to work with both Jane and Ericka throughout the planning process. They were on top of all communication and I felt confident our wedding would run smoothly. The Greystone was the perfect venue for our wedding, providing privacy with having the ceremony on the back terrace yet still right in the heart of Piedmont Park. Highly recommend working with the Piedmont Park Conservancy for your next event!!

The Greystone at Piedmont Park was the perfect venue for our ceremony and wedding! Jane and Ericka were a pleasure to work with and incredibly helpful throughout the process. We decided to move our ceremony indoors the day before, and the Piedmont Park team made the rain plan run smoothly. They made sure we still had a great experience for our ceremony indoors. I highly recommend Piedmont Park's venues for events!

The staff were all incredibly helpful and responsive. The venue was perfect for what we were looking for, an area outside large enough for the service itself. And the money went to the Piedmont Conservancy.

We had our wedding here in November and it was perfect! We had our ceremony in a tent on the patio and the reception inside. Both spaces were the perfect size for our crowd (200 people) and everyone loved the venue! It was so much fun to be right in the middle of the park and still having an event that felt private. The view of the park and the skyline is also beautiful! Jane was awesome to work with and was super helpful throughout our whole planning process. She was very quick to answer our questions. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a memorable Atlanta wedding!

We loved The Greystone for our ceremony and reception! It was easy to get in contact with the staff prior to the booking and they did a great job showing us the facility multiple times before signing the contract. The pricing is extremely fair for renting as well as for their beverage services. The Greystone will always let you know what other activities are going on in the park that weekend and the weekends surrounding. We had our ceremony on the back patio and the lake in the background provided an excellent backdrop. We also did our reception inside of The Greystone and I would say for 150 people it was perfect. We did not feel crowded but did fill up most of the space. The staff was very accommodating the days leading up to the wedding and allowed us to use their storage closet prior to the actual rented day. I thought that was very sweet of them. Overall we had a very excellent experience with The Greystone and would recommend the venue to anyone.

My husband and I are frequent flyers at Piedmont Park. We go there for their festivals, the dog park, exercise, and just to enjoy the beautiful lake. It only made sense for us to have our wedding at Magnolia Hall and give back to our most beautiful city park. With that being said, everyone at the Piedmont Park Conservancy truly did a wonderful job. Parking reservations, go cart rental for park pictures, and communication were all very easy. The venue and space itself was perfect, especially if you like a more organic feel to your wedding. I loved it and if I were ever to have to host anything important again, I would seriously consider Magnolia Hall again.

You will not find a better venue in Atlanta! It's gorgeous with the city views, outdoor/indoor space and unique atmosphere. I couldn't recommend this venue more. I tell everyone I know that gets engaged to look at this space. One note however, book fast. This venue fills up a year in advance or more!

I f you are looking for a beautiful venue that is versatile and effortless, then Greystone is definitely the place not to mention Jane is fantastic. She was very personable and helpful throughout our entire experience by being very responsive to all of our emails, scheduling, and even making suggestions. I don’t know what we would have done without her! The venue is absolutely beautiful. The terrace overlooking the pool and Lake Clara Meer is beautiful especially the fountains. All of our guest continued to comment on how beautiful everything was and still are a month later. I could not have chosen a better place to have my wedding and reception. I would highly recommend Greystone Piedmont Park for any bride looking to get married in Atlanta, GA!

A gorgeous venue that really works with you in the planning. We had a million questions, and they really helped walk you through your possibilities to make your day unique. They even drove us around a little to make taking pictures down by the lake easier. Easy to work with, clear in their terms, flexible with your requests.... We did our ceremony and reception both inside with a "flip" of the room in between over cocktail hour. The bar was outside to keep the flow moving through the reception. We tented the outside too, just in case. I would get married here again and again! :)

We loved using the Greystone at Piedmont Park for our fall wedding! It is truly a beautiful venue and we loved all the history surrounding the park and the building itself. We had our ceremony in the front, with cocktail hour on the back patio and the reception inside. Everything was perfect! Our contact person changed halfway through the planning process, but Jane made sure to keep us informed and help settle any worries. We highly recommend the Greystone for any future event!

We lived within walking distance of the park for a couple years and enjoyed many walks and trips to the dog park. We really wanted our guests to appreciate and see what we love about Atlanta.

Piedmont Park was our obvious choice. An added incentive is that all the money goes towards the conservatory of the park.

The prices are a bit on the higher end, but the professionalism and experience in event planning make up for it. The flexibility is also decreased but for GOOD reason. The park wants to 'conserve' their reputation and I can respect that. Having worked weddings and in fine dining, I can relate to guests putting blame on a facility for sub-par food, decor, etc. The park provides a list of vendors ranging in price range. These vendors have dealt with the park often and know the ways things work and don't work. TRUST THEM! This is what they do for a living and they do it WELL!

Barbara and her staff were in contact when needed and reminded us when things needed to be decided. This was of great importance for a bride working full time, going to grad school, and the mother of the bride living out of town. They coordinated with the vendors to assure everyone was one the same page. We were very pleased with results.

We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at Piedmont Park’s Magnolia Hall & Lawn and had a great experience working with Barbara throughout the wedding planning process. Booking the venue was one of the first things we did after getting engaged – we knew we wanted a Fall outdoor wedding with an indoor backup option that we also loved, and we were thrilled to snatch one of the last Fall dates at Magnolia Hall up! Magnolia Hall and the lawn are both beautiful; I loved how minimal décor was needed due to the natural beauty of the location. We also loved that our facility rental fee went towards the Piedmont Park Conservancy to keep the park beautiful.

Barbara was such a pleasure to work with – from the beginning, she gave me so many tips and ideas and she always had answers and suggestions for my many questions! She also referred us to some amazing vendors and I knew I could always trust her honest opinions when selecting our other vendors. Barbara and the Piedmont Park team were so accommodating – they gave complimentary champagne to my bridesmaids and I while I got ready and beer to the guys, they offered a golf cart for my husband and I to be carted around in for pictures after the ceremony, and so much more. Magnolia Hall is also super convenient to the parking deck which was great. We were extremely happy choosing the park for our wedding, which was absolutely beautiful.

The venue is in a beautiful location of Piedmont Park. The Atlanta skyline and a lake is available for beautiful pictures. It's also nice that all your money that is spent to rent this venue goes back into preserving the park. The employees are nice and professional. They do have a lot of rules because it's a public park, but nothing that made me feel limited to what I could do. We had our ceremony inside however there is a terrace that looks over the pool and lake that is available should you want an outside ceremony. I LOVED our venue!!!

As a long distance bride, our representative, Rebecca, was extremely patient & helpful throughout the planning process. The venue itself is gorgeous - our wedding guests can not stop raving about the space's organic, rustic charm with a modern feel - the stained concrete floors, mission-style lanterns, and exposed wooden beams were a big hit! During our cocktail hour in the courtyard, the venue provided a seamless transition for our guests by flipping the space from ceremony to reception. We are pleased with our selection of Magnolia Hall & would highly recommend the space to other couples looking for a truly unique venue.

    Fall wedding

I would like to say that overall my experience was a great one. The facility coordinator Jane helped with the actually booking of the venue and then afterwards Ericka was the one who handled all the correspondence moving forward. Both ladies were extremely professional and explained all the details.

My wedding and reception were held at the Greystone on January 22. I happened upon this venue one evening while scouring the Internet for a site that was located "in-town", full of charm and could accommodate my expected guest count of 150. Jane responded to my inquiry, provided additional information and coordinated my site visit the following morning. Originally, I had my eye on Magnolia Hall, but I feel in love with Greystone's history and classic beauty. Fortunate for me, my wedding fell in their off-season so I received a discount on the rental. After I entered into contract, Jane would check-in periodically to see how things were coming along. Because its located in the heart of Piedmont Park there are quite a few restrictions and rules (e.g. transportation, vendor list), but Jane was super helpful and assisted my planner with navigating those throughout the way. So pleased to have had my winter wedding (snow and all) inside this beautiful, little known gem (Greystone at Piedmont Park)!

My husband and I are so glad we got married in Magnolia Hall. The venue was a little different, quaint and cozy. It made the ceremony and reception feel warm and inviting. The grounds are always beautiful and provide a great backdrop for photos. I think there was some change over with staff between the time we booked and the wedding so there was some confusion and lost communication there. That would be my only complaint. My guess is that all that is worked out now though. I would totally recommend Piedmont Park to anyone in Atlanta. It's a really special place.

The venue is BEAUTIFUL! But we had 2 issues...they have a really expensive bar minimum. We were thinking that we would have 70 people. We wanted beer and wine. We book the venue and just to meet the minimum (not including taxes) we had a full premium bar. Like other reviews, they are not very flexible but Jane worked with us to bend the rules as much as she could. I think the beauty of the venue makes up for the issues. We made it work and it was a beautiful wedding.

The Greystone was beautiful inside, the lawn and flowers were beautiful outside. HOWEVER, the wedding arch and the floral arrangements they provided were very meager, at best. The lake was filthy, green and slimy but I suppose there wasn't much they could do about that. The staff was extremely accommodating on the day of the wedding. Prior to, however, they could be a little slow on getting back with me.

The venue looked amazing and we had a great time at Piedmont Park. However there were a few things that we were not pleased with. We were told that the parking lot next to Magnolia Hall was going to be turned into a green space, however there was a big green wall put up instead. We were told that we could pay for parking so that our guests would not have to pay for it. We assumed that spaces would be reserved but they were not, also the parking deck was full and so some of our guests had to park on the street, delaying the ceremony. You will be very restricted on what you can do as far as whom you can use and decor outside. Barbara was very nice and very responsive to any questions that I had.

They were great until after the wedding. When received our final invoice, we noticed some discrepancies. So, we asked to see an itemized beverage total. They never responded to our questions after much poking and proding, though someone passively put an embarrassingly small check in the mail (as if that answered our questions). It made me even more sure that they had handled our beverages costs badly. I would only recommend them if you are not having bar service.

Let me start by saying that my review is not based on the beauty of the park. I did love our venue and how beautiful everything was. However, the staff was rigid (could say rude or uppity) and all of the stipulations for using the park made it very difficult. They were extremely stiff on everything. They were not accomodating AT ALL and would not bend on ANY issues that we had. They charged an arm and a leg for all of their services. They also require you to use specific vendors as far as catering, tents/chairs, and transportation is concerned and all of those vendors are very high priced. The chairs in Magnolia Hall have black cushions and there are no other options available if that does not match your color scheme. We were told that if we wanted different cushions we would have to rent a complete set of chairs for the reception space and pay to have a POD rented to store the other chairs that are normally in the hall because there was no where else to keep them. You have to use the park for any alcohol at the reception and there is a $2400 minimum for that. My husband and I rented two of their venues for our wedding day. The ceremony took place at dockside and the reception at Magnolia Hall. Needless to say, we were spending quite a bit of money. Therefore, when we requested a couple of golf carts to shuttle guests the half a mile from one venue to the other we were shocked to find out that we could only have ONE 5 passenger cart. Apparently all of the golf carts they have (2 more 8 passengers) are reserved for the greystone brides---EVEN though we were spending so much money and had further for our guests to walk, they simply were unwilling to accomodate us in any way on this issue. From my perspective it seems as though the greystone brides get a bit better treatment! If you plan on using the gorgeous Piedmont Park for your wedding, it will be beautiful....but get ready to spend A LOT of money and deal with very rigid people.

Brides & Grooms… please think twice before booking Piedmont Park for your wedding. It is a beautiful venue but you run the risk of literally having a circus outside your wedding. Instead of a nice stroll through the park, your guests could walk by funnel cakes, porta potties and a margarita tent on the way to your ceremony, and the Conservancy can’t stop it from happening. I know because it happened to me. When I booked my wedding I was told there was an arts festival happening on the other side of the Park (by Park Tavern). The staff showed me the festival’s layout and its proximity to the venue.
As a former midtowner who has enjoyed many festivals in Piedmont, I didn’t mind sharing the festival happening on the other side of the park. Nine days before my wedding I was informed that the festival had decided to move their footprint to the Greystone side of the park, which put my wedding literally in the middle of it. The Atlanta Parks Department approves the larger festival footprints and the Conservancy had no idea it was changed until nine days prior. By the time the Conservancy could figure out exactly where the festival was moving and what would actually be allowed to do, we had just four days notice to rework everything so that vendors could actually get to the venue to deliver the cake, flowers, etc and that my guests could actually get there. It was ridiculous.
Piedmont’s team did work with us to make the best of a bad situation and yes, I got some money back – but you don’t really want to run the risk of a bad situation like this on your wedding day. We had a good day despite of this because of all the truly excellent vendors who arrived super early and worked overtime to deliver on what they promised, even though the venue failed to do the same.
My advice… book your actual wedding elsewhere and come here for an hour or two to take some photos. You will avoid some potentially major headaches.
