Thank you to Erin at Pickles & Pies for the most amazing florals and chuppah a girl could ask for. Erin captured my vision and went above and beyond to make our wedding day at Milk and Roses beyond magical. She set up the most gorgeous design elements and did everything with a big smile. All the guests raved about how perfectly the florals complemented the space and how absolutely beautiful it all looked. I also LOVED working with Erin and had so much fun meeting and chatting before the event. Thank you so much to the team!!!!

I would like to start by saying Erin and her Pickles and Pies team literally knocked my socks off on the day of our wedding. We got married at The Hill, where Erin has done multiple weddings. The day went seamlessly. She was organized and elegantly commanded the crowd. Her job was to stay on top of us and everyone else, and she did. All of her services far exceeded my expectations. My floral arrangements alone are something that will go down in history. She purchased the flowers wholesale, saving me thousands of dollars and putting together arrangements that people still speak of as mind-blowing. Her husband is a graphic designer whose artistic abilities helped create our menus, boards, and programs. Erin is more of a design coordinator than a wedding planner, but she did an excellent job ensuring that our day went smoothly and our vision was executed perfectly. Thanks to her our wedding day was perfect.

Erin was a life saver! At first it took a bit of convincing to get my husband on board with hiring a planner. While I was all over the details and had tons of ideas dreamed up, Erin was the one who helped me make them a reality - - an affordable one at that! Erin knew the intricacies of our venue and helped us plan for the unexpected so things ran smoothly day of and throughout the planning process. We had to rent literally every item for our wedding day, even down to water for our guests. This could have been a disaster, but Erin helped us order the perfect amount of everything, making sure we stayed on budget while staying true to the look/feel we were going for. Not to mention she also had a ton of really unique rentals we were able to get from her fantastic collection. She directed us to vendors she worked with in the past, but was also very receptive & collaborative with vendors we brought in. While I thought I had worked through every detail, Erin brought up numerous things I hadn't thought through, always with a plan of attack. Weddings can be very cookie cutter, and she truly helped us do the opposite, including spray painting hundreds of plastic animals gold for our escort cards and facilitating a late night wedding cake piñata :)

Erin was a dream to work with & made a very stressful planning process as easy as possible. We loved her, our parents loved her, and we can't thank her enough for making everything come to life for our wedding day! I can't tell you how many guests more than a year later tell me a) how fun the day/night was (we really wanted emphasize the dancing and party aspect!) and b) how unique all of the details were. Last but not least, Erin did all of our flowers for us and I ADORED them. She created the exact look I was going for, all while being way cheaper!

    It's a NO BRAINER - hire Erin!!!

This review is a bit overdue as Erin helped plan our big day in the Hudson Valley in June of this year. As a project manager myself, I knew how important it was to have a good team, and the first thing I did after my now hubby and I were engaged was to assemble an all-star team. I had 3 goals: not have to stress before the wedding, have everything turn out "perfect", and enjoy my own wedding :). Pretty lofty goals according to all my married, and hence, "wiser" friends, but I knew it could be done, and I was right! Erin was an integral driver of this all-start team, from her overall approach, eye for details, creativity, and ability to respond to unexpected snafus and other last minute requests. At our first meeting, we discussed the look and feel I had in mind as well as the way I'd like to work. I knew right away we would make a great team and felt comfortable leaving most of the planning in her hands. We maintained communication throughout and she always ran things by me; I never felt overwhelmed or under involved. As mentioned, I had a pretty specific look in mind, and a clear idea of what I liked and didn't liked. Erin was able to achieve this without having me micro-manage - a project manager's dream! The day of, admittedly, we ran into some hiccups, but none that were insurmountable, and to be honest, did not really detract from the "perfect-ness" of the day. Some of this was attitude - I went in knowing I had done all I could to make it perfect, and whatever happened, was going to happen. The other part of this was how Erin managed the day - from coordinating all the vendors, helping to stretch out certain parts of the day to cover delays like guest arrivals, to herding guests to to the right places (we had both a regular ceremony and a tea ceremony at the same site), things just fell into place so naturally. We received so many compliments from our guests on how gorgeous the wedding was, and what a great time they had, as did we! Highly recommend!!

I'm so, so happy we chose Erin from Pickles & Pies as our wedding planner. My husband and I had a June wedding in the Hudson Valley. I wish I could say I was one of those brides that had a precise vision for her big day, but to be honest, I was somewhat indecisive. I knew how I wanted our wedding to FEEL (comfortable, personal, FUN) , but I didn't know how I wanted it to LOOK (apparently "make it gorgeous" isn't very specific). Erin had an incredible intuition for what would work based on the venue, the time of year, the guest list, and my highly-varied Pinterest pins. She gave me concrete ideas when she knew I needed them, and time and time again she reminded me of something I would have never thought of without her (i.e. how the table placement affects the inclusiveness for all guests; how a self-serve coffee station would work; the fact that you need a lot more glasses than people because they get set down so often). Although her design and planning sensibilities are fantastic, for me Erin's most appealing quality is her "get s&#t done" mentality -- I never worried that she would cut corners or let something fall through the cracks. On top of all that, I felt she was a great value and probably ultimately saved us money with her advice. She even did our flowers arrangement for an additional (but very reasonable) fee on top of her planning services, and all the guests commented how beautiful they were. I don't know what we would have done without her. And did I mention our wedding got featured in Style Me Pretty?!? I didn't think I was the kind of bride that would geek out over that, but it turns out I am. :) I highly, highly recommend Erin / Pickles & Pies!

My, now, husband and I worked with Erin on our wedding beginning right after our engagement. We planned a winter wedding in NYC and Erin's presence throughout the entire process was invaluable. While I felt confident in the design aspects of the wedding planning process, I was clueless when it came to pragmatics--how much alcohol do 100 people drink, where do we place the bar and how do we set up bar service so it's efficient and user friendly for the bartenders and the guests, what do you do with ice when you have to have it delivered at 10am, but your event doesn't start until 5 and the caterers need use of all the fridge and freezer equipment--and Erin's expertise made sure that everything was simple for the staff working the event and flawless from a guest perspective. I needed Erin to make sure that the experience of my wedding was as wonderful as the aesthetic, and she did just that. Erin is a problem-solver, her attitude and confidence that everything will work out is a huge relief when dealing with the minutia of a bring everything in yourself kind of venue. I knew that Erin shared my sensibility around the event's design, and while I'm used to being in control and doing things myself, I wanted to allow someone else to make sure the space was staged and everything was set up the way I wanted it without needing my direct attention. Erin's inventory or rentals is wonderful and she sourced additional props specifically for my event, allowing me to rent them rather than needing to purchase outright and source on my own. I would highly recommend Erin to any NYC/Hudson River Valley bride and groom!

Quite simply: The single most important decision we made after getting engaged was deciding to work with Erin (Pickles & Pies) on our wedding. We usually like to do things ourselves but we sensed that if we wanted emerge from wedding planning not only unscathed but feeling like we did ourselves and our loved ones proud, that we needed some help. I was weary entrusting someone with such a personal job and one that potentially, if ill-handled, could result in more stress. Erin was unbelievably patient, creative, optimistic, reliable, skillful, organized, and kind. We looked forward to each meeting and kept complimenting ourselves on finding her (and breathing sighs of relief). We really felt like the luckiest people! The entire process was a joy and I still can't believe that is true, but it was! And the wedding, was magic...she got us, she got our values and style, she understood how to work with all parties involved, and she managed to direct the event of our lifetimes with grace and the utmost competence. No one knew how we did it...we know how we did, we hired the right person. I hope you are lucky enough to work with her too!

We could not have been luckier to find Erin as our wedding planner. Seven months prior to our wedding she came to our very first meeting and knocked us off our feet--we were honestly in love with her ideas and they were so in touch with our budget, taste, theme (Twin Peaks, not really easy to pull off), and hopes for our wedding. We had an idea it would be a tremendous amount of hard work (which is why we wanted a planner in the first place... otherwise we'd have no jobs to pay for the wedding!), but until we got closer to the big day we had no clue how to pull all of it off. It was truly staggering the amount of work to be done, supplies to be bought, not to mention coordinating out-of-the-country groomsmen and last-minute insurance drama. Erin gave us schedules, marching orders, and lots of great ideas to save money the entire way. Her ideas are an endless stream of genius, and once she gets who you are, she is locked on the target. She even took my slacker groom-to-be shopping and got him in a dapper suit in no time.

Erin's willingness to be creative and do so much of the legwork herself is invaluable. She worked with our out-of-town wedding venue to find the best possible way to decorate, light, and celebrate the location--the main reason we'd decided to have our wedding in the Hudson Valley in the first place. She did the flowers and centerpieces, decorated everything beautifully, found us our magical caterer and so many other amazing steps that I can barely count them all. What Erin basically does is museum curation for your wedding. Every little piece, from a serving platter to a placecard location, is mapped out in preview in her studio to be approved by you.

No one could believe the fun details that gave the wedding our stamp, and that was unforgettable to witness after so many weddings that didn't seem to fit the people in them. We were ourselves when we said "I do," thanks to Erin.

(Forgive my briefness, but I posted a lengthier review which was lost when trying to recover my login credentials.)

Our wedding was nearly perfect. The only reason Pickles & Pies didn't receive five stars across the board is that there was a snafu with the seating. My husband's step-father wound up at the wrong table (not with family), and another table was over-seated. Erin was clearly mortified at the error and leapt into action to resolve it quickly, but it was particularly upsetting to my husband.

That said, everything else was amazing. I had designed the invitations, and Pickles & Pies worked to make sure everything matched our style, from the place cards and menus to the centerpieces. The day felt like "us," and that's really what I think every couple wants.
