Outstanding team

My (now) husband and I despise those photos that make you look stiff and posed. Verlyn and Kathleen did "pose" us, but never once did we have that aforementioned feeling. Their easy, relaxed demeanor made picture taking fun. They were unobtrusive in so many ways that we forgot they were even there taking pictures. Thus, all of our photos look almost spontaneous. Verlyn and Kathleen were so attentive to the fine details, were quick to respond to any emails or calls, and worked with us on a package that met our needs and our budget. The turn around time from wedding to receiving our final pictures was super quick and the photos ...... a lot of them made me cry. I feel so blessed to have found this wonderful photography team. They made a wonderful memento of our special day, and I would highly recommend them to all brides.

Dynamic Duo

We called Photography by Larson just a little more than a week before our wedding in April 2020. We weren’t sure the wedding was going to happen because of Covid so we waited to book a photographer. When we called and spoke to Verlyn and Kathleen, they were more than willing to help last minute. On the day of the wedding, they arrived early and were ready to get started. They were professional, friendly and easy to work with. They even stayed a little past our agreed upon end time. We received 25+ preview pictures within 12 hours of the wedding and couldn’t wait for more! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Photography by Larson!

It’s difficult to find the perfect photographer for your wedding. It’s twice as difficult to find the perfect photographer when you’re getting married in a different state. I am so thankful that I called Verlyn & Kathy Larson. They were friendly & funny, yet very professional. They were patient and answered all my questions. By the time we we traveled from our western New York home to Sarasota Florida and met the Larson’s face-to-face, I felt like I had known the Larsons for years. I highly recommend this great couple. You won’t be sorry!

Verlyn was so fun to work with (:

Our formal ceremony was delayed by hurricane Eta... Anna Maria Island flooded and so afterwards on Friday the 13th, Verlyn came out with all his cool photography tools and with the help of my brother tossing my veil out into the wind on the beach, we got some awesome, dramatic shots! He also photoshopped out some hard-to-get stuff from the pictures, which I didn't expect. It was just a small family gathering due to the pandemic but he got our group shot with all the masks, some emotional ceremony photos and the best part was that I got to download all the photos and not have to choose like a dozen or something. I love that- getting to keep all our memories and go over them. He was a talented, relaxed guy to work with. We had a great time and never felt rushed or pressured; we had fun with it and I'm glad my parents picked him as our photographer. (:

Simply the best

Photography by Larson left our daughter's special day with a lifetime of beautiful pictures that we will always treasure. Every attention to detail, every moment captured, every thought put into our special day was flawless. The quality of this couple and their professionalism when we started to run late with our schedule was so appreciateted as they were able to work to make sure every picture was taken without adding tension. That was a gift! They were truly a blessing to our family. Thank you Verlyn and Kathleen!

The photos were absolutely gorgeous

We did both engagement photos and wedding photos and they were perfect. Everything was sent to us in a timely manner. Kathleen and Verlyn were very professional and helped us make our day perfect.

Friendly and Professional!

The Larsons were recommended to me by my caterer and they were amazing. From the first email exchange to the final picture taken at the reception, both Verlyn and Kathleen were friendly, informative, funny, professional, and just so easy to work with. It felt like we were friends from the start. I didn't want to do a ton of posed shots and they totally respected my vision. Our ceremony and reception were at the Mote Marine Aquarium and they knew the best places to take photos, especially the sunset ones. Every shot came out perfectly. I would highly recommend Photography by Larson!

Beautiful wedding photos!

Verlyn and Kathy were wonderful! They did a great job capturing our wedding day. Even with a storm during the ceremony and power outage during our reception you would never know it from the beautiful, creative photos they took. We had professional photos emailed to us by the next morning and the final photos 3 days later. We highly recommend!

Best Photographers EVER!!!

The photos were amazing! And we could not believe how quickly we got our photos back. We received a preview with about 25 photos at like 7 am the day after our wedding and it wasn't more than 3 weeks before we got the rest of our photos back. We could not be happier with the quality of our photos, or with the service we received.

The wedding pictures were beautiful.

Fantastic experience with Verlyn and Kathleen

We had a fantastic experience with Verlyn and Kathleen as our wedding photographers. They take amazing photos - both of them have very skillful eyes for framing, light, and composition. Our "teaser" photos came out quickly and were stunning - we loved that they provided a few of the best photos just a couple of days after the wedding, with the balance of them coming later in a very nice box with a DVD containing the rest of the photos. Another thing that gets overlooked - if you're looking at several photographers and they have about the same skill level and price consider this - Photography by Larson made our wedding day easier and less stressful with their excellent communication throughout the process and on the day of the wedding. They strive to show up early and were prepared and on time to our wedding. They were open to suggestions for poses, they had every pose we wanted printed out and they made sure we get all of them, in addition to framing their own shots and having lots of suggestions. They are professional and no drama. My wife and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you Verlyn and Kathleen!

Photos for days

Working with Verlyn and Kathleen was a blessing. I didn’t have any clue what I wanted, but they were there throughout the process, along with my sister-in-law who helped a lot with making sure we got photos of everyone. Our photos came back better than expected and we are excited to share with family and friends!

beautiful photos. great to work with

We are so happy with our pictures! The Larson's are a great team! Super flexible, well priced (and will release images for you to print on your own), efficient, and extremely easy to work with. I highly recommend you ask for recent wedding photos to look at. I love ours so much more than any featured on their website. It is also great that they come together without any extra cost so they can divide and concur as everyone gets ready. Verlyn is very relaxed and will work with whatever timeline you have and will capture as much or as little as you want and Kathleen is great at grabbing you for a few quick shots when you have down time during the day. I have been to weddings where we needed to be ready several hours early just for photos. We captured great first look, immediate family and wedding party photos in less than an hour... which is about all I had patience for. We also got a few great sunset shots for about 10 minutes during cocktail hour. Great mix of portrait, formal, candid, dance floor and lots of ceremony pictures along with some special guest photos during the night! Thank you for exceeding our expectations, we can't wait print for our family and friends!

Wedding Coverage

We hired Photography by Larson for our wedding Oct 13 2018. No regrets, they fully covered our wedding. I mean covered--we have plenty of beautiful photos to remember all aspects of our special day. Verlyn was very flexible with us planning our phone chats & engagement sessions. As for the wedding day--the couple showed up on time and ready to go. Big thanks to them for rolling with the punches by handling various family members or friends who wanted photos. Weddings can be stressful, but Verlyn & Kathy guided us and helped make our day peaceful.

I’m pickier than an editor at Vogue

...and I still cherish every photo Photogrphy by Larson took. When I posted a few on social media I was blown away by an outpouring of love from my friends and family who weren’t able to attend. He really captured the love and special moments of our day. One of my most cherished memory’s is preserved forever.

Wonderful experience with Verlyn and Karen Larson! They were thorough with questions before the event and made sure we got all the photos we wanted or needed before, during and after the ceremony and reception. They showed up on time and were true professionals. Even checked in with us about 15 minutes prior to their time ending to make sure there wasn't a shot we wanted that had been missed. They were very reasonably priced for two photographers and we would highly recommend them. The best part was waking up to a handful of photos that were emailed to me early on Sunday morning. And we had the final file of all the photos by Wednesday. I can't say enough good things about our experience! Thank you Verlyn and Karen for capturing our wedding day for us!

Our beach wedding experience was challenging with the windy conditions. We are pleased that Verlyn and Kathleen were able to get some nice shots at the beach, off the beach, with our vintage car and at the reception. They are very pleasant and accommodating!

We had the Larson's take care of the photography for our wedding at The Waverly a couple of weeks ago. They came highly recommended by Frank at The Waverly and we now know why. From our first correspondence until now, Verlyn and Kathleen have been wonderful, we really cannot say enough about their service and professionalism. We wish there were more than 5 stars to give them. The both were very accommodating and made sure we got every photo we wanted. They truly went above and beyond with everything they did. We just received the final round of pictures and they came out better than we hoped. We HIGHLY recommend Verlyn and Kathleen; you cannot go wrong with hiring them for your special occasion!!!

I really enjoyed this husband and wife team! I feel like they captured every moment of my wedding day in GORGEOUS pictures! The turn around was LESS than a week and I loved that they sent a few preview pictures the morning after the wedding. If you're on the fence, allow me to help, you will not regret hiring them!

We hired Photography by Larson for our intimate Catholic wedding at St. Martha's Church in Sarasota this past November. Despite contacting Larson only a few weeks before our wedding date, he gladly accommodated our last minute request. He was professional, organized and even sent us sneak peeks that afternoon. The quality of the portraits and candid shots exceeded our expectations and were so excited to share the entire gallery with our family and friends.

Our experience with Photography by Larson went beyond all of our expectations. Verlyn made us feel completely relaxed. I wanted some beautiful and classic shots along with fun an flirty, and that is exactly what we got! I felt comfortable offering up some ideas that we had in mind for photos, in fact, I was encouraged to do so. We felt right at home posing for the classic shots, and the fun ones too! We were worried about the weather as Tropical Storm Irma was coming to town. Verlyn made the pictures magical. He is so talented and works wonders with his cameras. All I needed to do was give him an idea of what we had in mind and he made it happen, and then some! Perfection.

Verlyn and Kathleen werw just amazing! From the moment they showed up they were prepared for anything, even pulling out a sewing kit for a potential repair! They were on time, prepared and ready to shoot! Communication before our wedding was excellent and they made a point to take shots of ones we had for suggestions. Before the sun came up the day after the wedding, they had already sent me about 15 preview which I fell in love with! Just over a week from the wedding all put pics were finished and sent to us via secured link, with a CD to follow soon after in the mail. Their professionalism, attention to detail, eye for a great shot and chemistry Verlyn and Kathleen had with each other made for an exceptional experience and hi HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!

They were absolutely fantastic thoughout! I planned my wedding from the UK and Photography by Larson made the whole process easy and reassuring. Verlynn was recommended by our wedding officiant, Grace Felice, was miraculously available with 2 weeks notice, and was absolutely perfect!! Strongly recommend! He was professional, accomodating and very good at what he does. He sent us a preview of some of our photos THE NEXT DAY, and had all our photos on a CD in a lovely keepsake book before we left Florida for home (within a week). Great service, and very personable, we were extremely pleased :) :)

We had a beach wedding on Longboat Key on 4/1/17. Verlyn and Kathleen handled all the photography and they were amazing. All of the pictures are gorgeous. 2 business days after our wedding we received a link to our pictures which we were able to share with our guests. All of our guests quickly got back to us telling us how beautiful every picture was and what a phenomenal job our photographer did to capture our special day. 3 business days later we received our pictures on a CD in a beautiful leather case. We can not say enough about how perfect Verlyn and Kathleen were for our wedding. They went above and beyond our expectations and accommodated our every wish. As an added bonus, they were fun to talk with. Both of us enjoyed our interactions with them before and during the wedding. They were kind enough to send us preview shots before we were even done with dinner so we could share some with the family. The rest of the pictures were on a DVD and ready for pick up within 4 days. The photos that Verlyn was able to capture have amazing depth of color. We had an ideal day for a sunset wedding and they were able to record all of subtle light changes that occur before, during, and after the sun sets. We are very grateful to them for their work and feel fortunate we happened to find and choose them for our wedding.

Verlyn and Kathleen were top notch for our wedding photography! I chose them as I felt Verlyn was very personable while talking about our wedding and was excited to be part of it! They were also very reasonably priced and flexible with the amount of time they were willing stay (I wanted them to stay longer) - You won't be disappointed! They are a husband and wife team and worked very well together making sure we were perfect in our pictures and stayed on schedule during the wedding. They arrived early to check out the venue and find some great spots for after ceremony shots. It was great having 2 photographers to capture all the special moments - Kathleen stayed with me (the Bride) through the whole wedding and was able to capture all the candid shots. Verlyn was able to shot the guys/Groom getting ready and did a great job taking all the portrait shots after the ceremony. Having 2 photographers is the only way to go so you don't miss anything! The best part was that Verlyn had e-mailed a bunch of photos to us by the time we woke up the next morning. This was the last part of relief we needed - to know that we got great pictures and didn't have to wait weeks to see them! It was also great to share with our family and friends right away and get some nice professional shots on FB :) Great team photographers who won't disappoint you on the biggest day of your life!!!

Verlyn & his wife Kathleen did an amazing job on the photos for my wedding. It was great having two photographers to take more photos of both my husband with his groomsmen and I with my bridesmaids. The photos turned out better than I could have ever imagined. The sunset photos are beautiful that they took of just my husband and I after the ceremony. They also had the photos to us only a couple days after the wedding and we were able to pick them up before we even headed back home from our honeymoon.

Verlyn and Kathleen Larson make a great team!

My husband and I are from Cincinnati, Ohio. It was scary trying to choose a photographer that we wouldn't get to meet before the day of our wedding but when I came across Photography by Larson, it just felt right. They were responsive and attentive from the very beginning, putting my mind completely at ease! When we had a phone conversation the week before the wedding Verlyn was calming and very patient listening to my 1,000 questions and ideas!

We are absolutely thrilled with their service and quality of work and would recommend them a thousand times over.
Verlyn and Kathleen are both highly skilled and have an eye for capturing the best angles, lighting and details. All of our wedding photos were beautiful, and the shots they captured of my husband and I on the beach at sunset were breathtaking! They know exactly what they are doing!

We had our wedding on longboat key at sunset, and could not have asked for a better experience. Verlyn did an amazing job and took such beautiful pictures! We were from out of town and leaving on Monday, Verlyn had our pictures edited and on a disc for us less than 48hrs after our wedding. Can't say enough about our experience with him. My wife Silke and I had a wonderful experience with this company. We called the day of the wedding to see if they were available to take the pictures a couple hours earlier because my fiances hair was completed early. I left a message and they called back within 15 minutes and Verlyn was very accommodating and agreed to perform the session earlier.

We had a bit of a snafu with the place where the pictures were to be taken where we needed to pay $250 for the session. We had them taken at Selby Gardens. This was NOT the photographers fault. They almost were not going to allow us to take them there but in the end agreed to, to their credit and that was appreciated. It would have been very sad had we not been able to take them because here was my bride in her gown ready for what we knew were to be beautiful pictures.

As we were going through Selby, you knew immediately Verlyn was a professional in his craft in all the technicalities of placement and lighting. On top of that, he was a very pleasant and friendly man to work with.

We had an hour session and Verlyn did not look at his watch until he thought we must have been an hour and it ended up being one hour and 20 minutes and he was still willing to take more for us. It was damn hot though for all of us so we told him we were fine and he had captured many wonderful shots.

For what he did, the cost was incredibly reasonable. I will not post the amount in the feedback because I believe contracts between people should not be made public but you will not be disappointed in what you get for the very reasonable price and overall experience.

I would absolutely recommend this company with their over 30 years experience to ensure your day is captured properly.

Kathleen & Verlyn were terrific! We're from Philadelphia and we were getting married in the Sarasota area and Verlyn was nice enough to meet us a few months beforehand to go over any questions we had. Because we found Larson photography online, we already knew we were getting a great product after our conversations via phone but beIng able to sit and talk reassured us of our decision.

The day of our wedding couldn't have gone any better. Kathleen and Verlyn arrived early just in case anything came up. They captured every moment we were looking for and more for our special day. With over 25 years of experience, we could tell that they knew all of the right poses to put us in which kept us on time with our schedule along w/ any special requests we had. If you're looking for an excellent product and service where you won't have to worry since there are plenty of other things that can keep you stressed during wedding planning, then look no further than Larson Photography.

I almost forgot, less than 3 hours after our wedding, Kathleen and Verlyn had 20 of our best photos emailed to us to use on social media that night. In addition to that, 3 days after our wedding, we had a link sent to us of all of our wedding photos. Talk about a quick turnaround!

Like many of the other customers of Larson Photography I cannot speak highly enough of them. I searched and searched for a photographer but all of the wedding photos looked the same and I thought "blah." However, when I stumbled upon their photos on their website they had unique ideas and the photos were not all staged. What you see is what you get with this husband and wife team! It was so wonderful to have more than one professional photographer on our day for the price of one. Additionally, they were organized, had a plan, and took charge to ensure that all the important shots were captured. They had great ideas of where to take pictures and how to position each person for the perfect picture. I couldn't have imagined more beautiful pictures from my wedding--and could not be happier!

I can not speak highly enough for Larson Photography! When my husband and I saw the photos from our wedding it took our breath away, the pictures completely exceeded our expectations, and our expectations were pretty high! They were such a pleasure to work with, they made the time we spent taking pictures so much fun! They are truly wonderful at what they do! Verlyn & Kathleen Larson are an amazing team to work with. We were looking for a photographer who could do journalistic shots as well as the portraits. We noticed from their portfolio instantly that their photography is dynamic. We were particularly interested in their infrared shots. We were also looking for a photographer who wouldn't play the game of "withholding shots unless prints are purchased". We wanted to hire a photographer, who would shoot for a certain period of time, for a fixed rate, pictures included. We not only appreciated Larson Photography's pricing, but were grateful that they had also guided us through, and organized the photography timeline (for 8 hrs), which was incorporated into the other wedding activities timeline. They were also great at contacting and communicating with the other vendors at the wedding. Great team!

Verlyn and Cathy Larson were recommended to us through our wedding officiant. We contacted them, and spoke with Verlyn about what we were looking for in a photographer. We had a small beach wedding, and did not need a full wedding photography package. They will do whatever you need....as much or as little as you would like. Plus, you get two photographers for the price of one!! They are both lovely people, friendly, and do beautiful work. We loved all of the photos!! They put together some very unique shots that came out great! All of our friends and family commented on how beautiful all of the photos are. They made a DVD of all of the photos they took, put it in a small, tasteful album with a black & white photo of us on the front and a color photo of us on the inside. Included on the DVD was a letter releasing rights to the photos, so that we could print out whatever photos we wanted to and put together our own album. We were leaving Florida in two days, and Verlyn had everything ready for us to pick up before we left. We were so pleased with our photos, and we highly recommend Larson Photography. Photography by Larson was no doubt my favorite vendor of my entire wedding. They are not only extremely affordable, they are so easy to work with. When they are taking pictures you forget that they are even there, and conduct what you do normally. They have a way of making photos come alive and they really are amazing. I could not ask for more. We can't thank say enough good things about the absolutely gorgeous wedding photos at a great value. Looking thru all of them and listening to the theme song of the Larson Photography website brought tears to my eyes. Verlyn and Kathleen captured every special moment and memory perfectly and we could not be happier with the results. Mr & Mrs Larson are the epitome of an amazing vendor!! I contacted them once at 8pm at night and they answered the phone and helped fix my issue! Who else would do that??! The value is amazing! I am SO happy with everything! Our engagement photos were beautiful and so were the wedding pictures. They are patient (we were running WAY late) and then trying to get the family groups together. They work well together as a team! The turn around time is fast!! They even gave me a sneak peek by sending 5 or 6 photos to my email the night of the wedding!!! I recommend Photography by Larson for any occasion!!

Doing all of our destination wedding planning online, we searched dozens and dozens of photographers along the Florida west coast, but of every site we went to, Photography by Larson had the BEST price for the best deal! For 5 hours, we had 2 photographers (Mr. and Mrs. Larson), all the photos edited on a CD with all copyrights, and the Larson's take great pride in using natural lighting to capture the most stunning photos...you will NOT be disappointed! They were so professional, my guests all complemented how friendly they were and how well they blended in. And the pictures they took....beautiful. They captured details that we hadn't even noticed until we were going through their photos! If you are looking for amazing photos for an amazing price, AND you want two photographers for the price of one, look no further. Give them a call or send them an email, they are quick to respond and so helpful!!

Verlyn and his wife, Kathleen did such a fabulous job capturing our wedding on camera! They captured every detail and every special moment. The pictures turned out absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Everyone is raving about how gorgeous our pictures are. Another reason we chose them was because they were budget-friendly and we received ALL 830 of our photos on CD with copyright release. We can keep every single photo for years to come. Verlyn & Kathleen are true professionals! It was great to have two photographers on hand to capture every angle of the day. I loved that they sent over a batch of photos for us to share with family and friends the day after the wedding. It helped us to relive the memories right away! They did such an amazing job with my wedding pictures. They were there on time and they did everything we wanted them to. They got our pictures back very quickly too. They send you a website and a flash drive, plus some preview pictures. These guys are great, I highly recommend them!

Our engagement pictures they were great. For our wedding almost two hours late. The two were supposed to split up cover my husband and family as well as myself and family getting ready. We have no pictures of all of us getting ready, very little of our families before. No pictures of my dress before etc..

We spent time at the reception getting photos with our family. But stopped due to the fact we would spend all night doing this. I don’t have a photo with my grandma, I’m glad we have photos. I was disappointed I never even received an apology after from them regarding all of it. I was told how calm I was during the entire situation..

Find someone who will show up because the photos you will have for a lifetime. And unfortunately my husband and I do not have those. It is incredibly disappointing I wish they had at least reached out afterwards for an apology or at least taken time to edit pictures. We had a beautiful venue and doesn’t seem much was captured.

Find someone who will be on time.
