I am so glad that we had the opportunity to work with Marcus for our wedding reception!! We spoke with him over the phone before the wedding day to go over our music choices and reception schedule. When we got off-schedule during the reception, Marcus handled it seamlessly and we and our guests had an incredible experience!! He was so wonderful to work with, so communicative, and thoughtful. Marcus, thank you so much for making our wedding the best party I’ve ever been to!!! -

Marcus was awesome, he kept our wedding fun and interactive for everyone! He was so kind and even captured a photo of us that he surprised us with at the reception. He even tried to fix the photo booth that we used when it stopped working (we regretfully hired a separate photo booth and wish we had used him for this as well). I would highly recommend him and the services he provides! -

Marcus is an AMAZING DJ! He was our DJ for our wedding in November at Villa Siena. He truly cared about our wedding and making sure he followed all the details that were important to us. He even remembered details we told him from months prior. He made sure all of our wedding music was perfect. He is very professional and even more talented. We were a group of 25-35 year olds but he also played music that the older folks would love as well. He is so much fun and kept everyone on the dance floor! We are so glad we chose him as our DJ! -

Why I labeled this title of this review "Magic with Marcus" because he TRULY made our experience so magical for us. He really listened to our wants, needs and desires. He helped us organize the whole night and really made it so easy for us! He was always in consistent contact with us and always did everything he could to make sure we were happy. We also did not have a great experience with the staff or coordinators at Villa Siena in Gilbert so he really made up for the negative feelings we had for our wedding day. he helped us with all of our scheduling and planning things out. I will definitely be recommending him to our friends and family for their future events! Thank you Marcus for everything!!!!! -

Marcus was very professional and kept the party going! Marcus was exceptionally good at communicating with the bride and groom regarding the music flow and reading the dance floor. After the wedding all of our guests talked about how amazing the music and atmosphere was. All of our party animal guests, grandmas, and kids were pleased! We highly recommend Marcus to DJ at any wedding! -

We booked Villa Siena as our wedding venue, and we wanted an ‘oomph’ factor when walking into the reception, and Phoenix Uplighting was the best choice we made. We decided to go with Marcus Trollmann (Ray the DJ) as our DJ for the wedding encouraged by many favorable reviews he had. And boy, it was one of the best decisions we made that night. He was fantastic, very approachable and kept the dance floor ignited for the entire duration of the reception. His mixes were brilliant, and we were worried about giving him with a massive list of Bollywood songs, but I think it’s fair to say that he knocked it out of the park. 11/10 would recommend!
We were enthralled by the uplighting photos Phoenix Uplighting had on their reviews, and decided to go with them. It was beautiful, what we were given. We also went with the ‘dance on clouds’ feature which made everything better. And to add the cherry on top, Marcus decided to surprise us with ‘cold sparklers’ at the end of our dance. THAT WAS JUST GORGEOUS! Can’t thank him enough.
Marcus was also very responsive, would accommodate a lot of last minute changes we had, and an absolute saint. You can’t go wrong with him and Phoenix Uplighting. Cheers!

The uplighting and custom monogram from Phoenix Uplighting adding such a special and elegant touch to our wedding venue. We also had a photo booth which was a hit with all the wedding guest. Marcus is wonderful! He met with us numerous times before our wedding and helped us with all of our details, and even gave us some new, fun ideas too!
At our wedding, he added uplights to our dance floor that looked amazing! Our guests were all dancing and Marcus played all of their requests! Our guests even commented how great he was!! He really helped everyone enjoy the evening.
After the wedding Marcus was kind enough to drop us a note and send a few pictures that he somehow managed to take that evening! One of his pics is our absolute favorite (attached)! We can’t say enough great things about Marcus and how he added to our special day! Thank you so much Marcus! You are a class act!

My husband, Dante Peña, and I booked the wedding venue Villa Siena and our coordinator, Kayla, suggested Marcus Trollmann (from Ray the DJ) to be our DJ for the night with our package.
We met Marcus serendipitously at our friend's wedding and he pulled up our account right on his iPad. This was such a great interaction and we could tell Kayla picked a great person. Not only that, but we got a sneak preview of his abilities as a DJ and we were very impressed. He read the room and kept the dance floor packed.
Finally, as the big day approached, Marcus also offered us his other services from Phoenix Uplighting. We went with the add on of "dancing on clouds" as Villa Siena just recently changed their rules on allowing this feature.
We also communicated with Marcus through email, phone call, text, and Instagram. He was super cordial and made us feel at ease with all of our choices. Since we were having a Disney wedding, this allowed us to be very creative and Marcus was super supportive.
As we were using the software to pick songs, there were quite a few we had to add since they were not in there already. There were also some YouTube videos of mixes and we wanted the father-daughter dance to be shorter. He was easily able to add everything and made us a mix of the father-daughter song to be the perfect length.
Then, finally the day came....Marcus delivered big time. He knocked it out of the park. He was able to follow our song picks and was able to adapt to our audience. Since Dante's side was really into cumbias, he was able to play ones that we really enjoyed and his family got into. The dancing on clouds effect for our first dance made for awesome photos. He kept the night moving along and was able to check in with us as well. He even gave us a special surprise at the end of our grand entrance.
We cannot thank him enough. Marcus was so easy going and friendly. He wasn't overly cheesy being an emcee and had just the perfect amount of flair. Thanks for making our day beyond special!

Marcus was the DJ for my wedding and made our night so memorable and fun!!! He was so friendly and helpful during our pre-wedding meetings and helped us with song ideas, the timeline of our event, and made sure to make us feel special. Marcus communicated with us so well that we never felt like we were on the back-burner; we felt like a priority and knew he would do everything he could to make our night so special. And he did!!!! Marcus was an absolute pleasure to work with from the very beginning (over a year before my wedding day) to the big day itself! We would communicate often and discuss things like song selection, timeline, and additional upgrades he had available for our big day. In addition to using Marcus as our DJ, we also secured our monogram and photobooth through him. Everything was so simple and clear, and I never had to worry when working with Marcus. If questions came up, he would immediately reach out and make sure everything was exactly as I wanted. Not to say I was a bridezilla BUT I am an event planning professional and I know what I want…so for him to exceed my expectations and make me feel comfortable entrusting him with so many important details is a HUGE DEAL. Thank you, Marcus, for setting the tone for our day- I wish we had a reason to do it all over again with you! -

We hired Marcus for our wedding day at Villa Siena and cannot thank him enough! Marcus was absolutely a delight to work with. His communication is very prompt, responsive, and professional. We opted for the ultra deluxe uplighting package, a monogram, sparkler fountains, and the beautiful DJ booth with monogram. Everything turned out BEAUTIFULLY! The uplighting just added to the romantic ambiance, our monogram was beautifully displayed above our sweetheart table and DJ booth, and the sparkler fountains were a hit with our guests! Everything was perfect, and absolutely worth every penny. We are so happy that we booked with Phoenix Uplighting and will cherish all of it for many many years to come.

Marcus was absolutely fantastic. He went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met for our big day. He was so personable, professional, and took the time to get to know us. I loved the fact that I could reach him any time that I needed to ask him any questions that I had. He even responded to my texts! Marcus MADE time for us. He made us feel important. He really did a great job making our wedding memorable and beautiful. My husband and I chose to do the cold sparkler fountains and uplighting. Marcus knew exactly when to light those cold sparks. Marcus was great at communicating and shared some amazingly creative ways to make our event even more special. Everyone in attendance was wowed and said it was the lighting that made all the difference (we were using a basic conference room space that is typically dull). Marcus Trollmann is the Best!
Marcus from Ray the DJ did such a great job getting people on the dance floor at our wedding, and he did such a great job communicating with everyone! Everyone loved the music he played.
