Such a special touch!

We wanted to add a special touch to our cocktail hour and a vendor recommended we reach out to PSQ. After the rave reviews and our first communication, we booked them - and they did not disappoint. Guests are still calling me days later telling me how fun, cool, and special PSQ was during our cocktail hour. Cocktail hour at our venue was very spread out, but PSQ's setup and mobility helped keep the room intimate and the energy upbeat. We are so glad that we got to include them on our big day and will recommend them to all our friends! Thank you PSQ!

Amazing experience!

We are so thrilled we chose Philadelphia String Quartet to be a part of our wedding day! They brought such a unique and beautiful energy to both our ceremony and cocktail hour. Their modern string arrangements were absolutely stunning—they played contemporary songs with such elegance and style, and it was the perfect blend of timeless and fresh.

One of the things that meant the most to us was that they learned and performed all of the songs we chose for our processional. Each piece was executed flawlessly, and hearing our favorite music played live as we walked down the aisle was incredibly emotional and unforgettable.
For cocktail hour, we didn’t give them a required playlist because we trusted their expertise—and they did not disappoint. They curated a perfect set that was fun, engaging, and beautifully performed. It created such a lovely atmosphere, and our guests were absolutely raving about the music.

Their repertoire is impressively extensive, and every song they played was executed with such precision and heart. From start to finish, Philadelphia String Quartet was professional, talented, and an absolute joy to work with. Their music elevated the entire experience and made our day even more magical. We can't recommend them highly enough!

Fun flare for cocktail hour music !

We booked a string trio through PSQ for the cocktail hour at our wedding and it was amazing. Communication leading up to the date was always prompt, professional and thorough. The musicians sounded amazing and added such a fun flare to the cocktail hour by playing current music on their strings which we loved. Highly recommend for a fun twist on usual cocktail hour music - thank you!!

Perfection!

The Philadelphia String Quartet played at my daughter’s wedding September 2021. They were wonderful through all of the planning stages and at the ceremony and cocktail hour! They always answered emails immediately, were professional and made the entire process stress free. Taska and Magu were punctual, professional, flexible and talented. I received many many compliments from the guests. The violin music added a special and romantic element while being fun because of the song list that we could pick. Can not recommend this company enough. One of the highlights of the day.

Highly recommend PSQ

Philadelphia String Quartet was the perfect addition to our wedding celebration. They created a beautiful and fun environment for our ceremony and Mugu and the team had our guests up and dancing during cocktail hour! They played along with our first dance music and really helped make the moment feel magical. Our guests could not stop talking about how great the musicians were and their amazing song choices. From the start the communication with Laura and Mugu was great and I would highly recommend PSQ to anyone -one wedding guest has already inquired for her own wedding!

Thoughtful and energetic musicians

We had a trio (piano and two violins) for our wedding ceremony, cocktails, and reception. They were so incredibly easy to work with and they added so much energy and life to the festivities!!! I was particularly grateful for the witty and thoughtful decisions they made for us. For example, when we were cutting the cake, they started playing “Cake by the Ocean” which our guests thought was so fun! We so highly recommend PSQ!!

Beyond Excellence

There are no words when the music speaks for itself! Simply incredible, our guests are still complimenting our string quartet. PSQ was so easy to work with throughout the pandemic and all of the changes, played every song we had on our list, and made our special day spectacular. I can’t wait until I have the privilege of being in their audience again. Mugu is so easy to work with and Laura gets back to you right away, making everything seamless. So lucky to have had them be part of our day!

A special unique detail

We wanted something unique at our wedding so we reached out to Mugu and the team after seeing all the raves reviews! They accommodated our special requests for processional music (the weekend, game of thrones, a halo by Beyoncé) and guests made several comments about how beautiful they sounded doing cocktail hour. I’m just sad I didn’t get more time to listen to them during the ceremony (I was a little distracted!!)

PSQ is amazing

I have nothing but great things to say about PSQ (Philadelphia String Quartet)! From The first initial contact through to wedding day, communications were on point, every question answered and extremely easy to work with. We hired them for ceremony and cocktail hour and while (as the Bride) I was not able to enjoy their full service, my music walking down the aisle was on point and my guest had nothing but great things to say about their performance! I would absolutely hire them again and recommend them to anyone looking for live music!

Phenomenal partners

Mugu and his team were phenomenal. They delivered a magnificent performance as part of our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Several guests asked for their contact information for future events. In preparing for the wedding, Mugu had a few creative ideas that made our day even more special than we imagined. They communicated well, responded to our questions, showed up on time, and they were exactly what we hoped for. Their music selection was wide ranging and hit all of the special notes. They even played a song my grandfather danced to with his bride more than 70 years ago. We are forever grateful and highly recommend them.

Talk of the Night!

We hired the PSQ to play at our ceremony and cocktail hour for an outdoor wedding. They went above and beyond in their performance. The band was extremely attentive to our needs and was able to play a variety of music from classical to pop. Every guest we talked to that night kept talking about how great the band was. I highly recommend booking if you’re looking to impress your guests at your next event!

Breathtaking experience

My fiancé and i had hired Philadelphia string quartet last minute, and it was the best decision we made! The interface they use was easy to navigate and they were very communicative. They were eager to help with selections and made the whole experience seamless, not to mention how crazy talented they are! Our venue was excited to have them and our guests still speak about them till now. They are a must!!

SO gorgeous!

PSQ set a perfect tone for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They play so beautifully and have such a fun repertoire. Our procession music was Journey, Coldplay and Beyonce and our guests LOVED it. Our musicians played string instruments at the ceremony and switched to electric for cocktail and it was a great transition to the reception. They also played my sister's wedding in Fall 2019 and they were just at wonderful. Thank you so much!

Extraordinary and beautiful ambiance

The Philadelphia String Quartet was incredible. They were quick to respond and always eager to help answer any questions. We had originally chose a cellist and harpist to perform, but then switched to a harpist and violinist and were very flexible and understanding. They have an incredible repertoire of songs they can perform and the process to book them is easy and headache free. They also have links of sample music to showcase their abilities which are endless!

The day of it was incredible to have them perform, true artists! The ambiance and music they brought to the ceremony was honestly one of a kind and one of the best decisions for our wedding. Thank you for an incredible day and wish you all the best!

PSQ Was Amazing!

Whipped Bakeshop created the cake (and cookie favors!) of our dreams for our wedding. We contacted them on short notice due to rescheduling our wedding as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and they were more than happy to assist with a quick turnaround. We worked with Jess who understood exactly what we wanted. Our cake was three tiers and we were able to have each tier be a different flavor, which was awesome! They created beautiful peonies for our simple and elegant cake. The cookie favors were custom created as well, to look like our cake (and they added our initials). Overall this was a great and delicious experience. We already want to go back for more!

You need them for your wedding!

Brilliant at our ceremony and cocktail hour

The staff at PSQ was simply the best. They were so responsive to any email. They learned 2 songs for our special day and played them brilliantly. The only other request we made of them was to play songs about love from any decade, and they delivered. We had guests dancing during cocktail hour they were so good! Loved PSQ at our daughter's wedding!

We hired PSQ for our daughter's wedding on 8/24/19. They were easy to work with, professional and pleasant. They delighted our guests with acoustic classic pieces during and after the ceremony. Then they switched to high energy electric instruments for the cocktail hour wowing guests of all ages. Can't wait to our other daughter's wedding, so we can have them again!

One of the best parts of my wedding!!!

First, Mugu is one of the sweetest and caring vendors! He composed a song from piano to violin that my grandfather wrote in his teenage years and played it beautifully while I walked down the isle. just hire them already!!

From the first day we spoke with them until the day of the wedding, PSQ were one of our easiest and most fun vendors to work with, and we felt like VIPs every step of the way!

We had a few songs that are very special to us and they not only learned them but absolutely nailed the performances during the wedding. They played for both the ceremony and the cocktail hour, providing the exact sophisticated mood we wanted with classical looking instruments to match during the ceremony, and then switching gears to beautiful, modern-looking instruments and pop songs for the cocktail hour. Their song selection was impeccable, and everyone seemed to be having an absolute blast playing (especially Mugu!).

Our guests were floored at the performances, and we got so many compliments – they could not stop talking about how incredible PSQ sounded. Our only regret is that we don’t have more large events coming up to hire them again!

Made our wedding welcome party!

Mugu is the best and their music is contagious. My aunt hired them for my wedding shower and we danced the entire event. I had to hired them again for my welcome party! I cannot recommend them enough. They will make your wedding.

What a great addition to our big day! From our first discussion, Mugu and the Philadelphia String Quartet team were tremendously helpful, collaborative, and responsive. We had PSQ perform at our ceremony at Fairmont Park Horticulture Center. The music was absolutely beautiful. Beautiful music and professionals all the way

The best part of my experience with the Philadelphia String Quartet was their professionalism and confidence throughout the wedding planning. On my wedding day, we received compliments on their performance for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I only wished I could have danced more to their music but had bridal duties. The ceremony music was beautiful and made walking down the aisle feel like I was walking on clouds.

Beyond our expectations!

We had PSQ at our wedding ceremony on April 12th in Quakertown. It was a Catholic service, and Mugu and his team were incredible! They worked so well with our accompanist & cantor, and paired strings to all of the songs we choose. It was more beautiful than we could have imagined. We cannot wait to get back video so we can relive the music. Mugu and the PSQ team is fabulous to work with - super organized and responsive to all questions. They are all incredibly professional and talented - worth every penny! If you are looking to add strings to your wedding, look no further than PSQ. I highly recommend (plus, their rendition of the Ave Maria will make you cry!) THANK YOU!

From the day I called PSQ to get pricing, through hiring them, planning, the actual wedding, and even 2 days after, everyone working with PSQ has made this such a wonderful experience- What an amazing team!!. Katie (the director of client services) was so kind, supportive, and helpful with getting me information and following up with me so that I didn't have to worry about getting back to her. Mugu was amazing, answering all of our questions, helping us plan the order of things in the ceremony, and checking in with us before and after the wedding to make sure we were satisfied. We were more than satisfied!!! All of our wedding guests raved about how beautiful the music was and the magical ambiance PSQ created for us. Wonderful experience!

Mugu, Miha, all the musicians and the staff we worked with were WONDERFUL! They all were so pleasant and kind to deal with from start to finish. Mugu helped us choose the most beautiful pieces of music for our ceremony - and then helped choose the most fun and modern music for our cocktail hour. These individuals are gifted and talented musicians. They exude joy in their work -- it is clear how much they love what they do! Their spirit comes through in their music and performance and I cannot say enough how amazing they were. Our guests were blown away by their performance...and especially loved how they subtly mingled through the cocktail hour on wireless instruments. PSQ helped make our day beautiful! We would highly recommend them to everyone and we are hoping to find another occasion someday to soon to work with them again! They are wonderful people. Philadelphia String Quartet Mugu

We are grateful to Mugu and Philadelphia String Quartet for their fantastic performance at our wedding. We hired Mugu and PSQ to play during the arrival of guests, our ceremony and cocktail hour. We also hired one opera and one classical singer to perform with them. Mugu was able to connect with both singers, set up rehearsal times and save the day, literally, when one of our singers was stranded on the road.
On the day of our wedding, just hours before the ceremony, one of our singers said she was broken down on the highway and could not get to the ceremony in time. Mugu was able to quickly problem solve and reorganize. We arrived at the venue and Mugu found us and said, “Everything is under control, don’t worry we rehearsed and the tenor will sing both songs.” Our ceremony went off with out missing a beat.
Once the ceremony was over, he and his team repositioned themselves and began playing electric violins with modern and classical music during the cocktail hour. The team created two wonderful vibes and impressed all of our guests. They, for us, were a great fit, have a wonderful stage presentation and possess a style all their own. The team is talented, versatile and professional.

Words alone can’t express how grateful and thankful my husband and I are for Mugu and the other musicians. Their performances were amazing and outstanding at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour! The wedding was Labor Day weekend and our guests are still talking about the type of classical and modern music that was playing at the ceremony, and the fun and lively music at the cocktail hour that had our guests dancing. The music definitely set the tone for an enjoyable and relaxing evening.. At the last minute, a friend of mine was supposed to have a guitarist perform for our first dance and canceled the day before the wedding. So I called Mugu immediately, and he quickly responded by finding a guitarist for us. He was very attentive and was very professional during our conversations. He eased my anxiety. Working with the Philadelphia string Quartet was a great experience ! My son and daughter in law loved having them at their weddding day! My experience with Philadelphia String Quartet was nothing short of amazing! I knew I wanted to have live music at our ceremony and was referred to Mugu and his team by my DJ. When I contacted Mugu, I spoke to him directly and he was very friendly and worked with me to help me figure out exactly what I pictured for the day. I decided to book them and up until the day, they followed up with me multiple times and helped me pick out music I wanted. The wedding was 2 hours outside of Philadelphia and they made the drive out there which was hard to find from anyone else. My ceremony was amazing and exactly what I pictured. They also played during dinner which ended up turning into a dance party! All of my guests were blown away and I couldn’t keep them in their seats! I had multiple friends wish they could re-do their wedding so they could hire PSQ. Thank you Mugu and the team for making my day so perfect!

I would highly recommend the Philadelphia String Quartet. They provided music for my daughter's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Katie Helf and Mugu were extremely personable, easy to work with and made sure that our needs were met. They were extremely accommodating and professional. They were able to play all the songs we requested and made suggestions for others when we were not sure what to choose. The musicians were a wonderful addition to the wedding as the music they played was beautiful. We received many comments on how lovely it was. Out of all the vendors that I worked with on the wedding, they provided the best customer service. I will certainly utilize their services again.

The quality of service I have received by PSQ was over and BEYOND. Out of all my vendors, I truly loved working with them the most. Communication was not a problem, they never ever made me feel awkward or as though I was bothering them (the naggy bride syndrome). PSQ was always professional and very responsive to my requests, and made sure I did not forget anything along the way (as planning a wedding things can really fall through the cracks). The value of their creativity and artistry will never go unnoticed. When I hear PSQ play the song I walked down the aisle to "Halo", by Beyonce, I still cry to this day. My ceremony meant the world to me, but they added that extra "cherry on the top" as many of the guests have told me. PSQ turned up!!! I am very grateful I hired them. The only thing I regret, is not having them stay to perform my "first dance" with my husband. If I could change anything it would be that, and that is how freaking AWESOME they are. The best.

Mugu and the entire team at PSQ were wonderful to work with! Mugu was patient and diligent in making sure our music selections represented exactly what we wanted and ensured it blended beautifully together for our ceremony. PSQ traveled to Atlantic City for our wedding in October. Mugu was able to make recommendations based upon our vision and put us at ease throughout the entire process. We are still receiving rave reviews and compliments regarding the stunning performance throughout cocktail hour with the electric instruments! PSQ is passionate about what they do and it is so evident in the way they play. Incredible customer service from day one. A fabulous company to reach and meet and standards, expectations and desires for your special day. The PSQ performed at the ceremony for my wedding in one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Atlantic City. When the church doors opened and I heard the strings, I felt this ethereal warm glow that bounced off the stained glass to the wooden benches that guided me down the aisle. Philly String Quartet was absolute perfection! They were worth every penny and brought an amazing element to our wedding that guests are still raving about. Working with Mugu was very easy and he transformed our vision to reality seamlessly. We came across this vendor online and also happened to catch a live performance at our venue's menu tasting, and knew right away we wanted the string quartet for our ceremony and the electric string duo for our cocktail hour. Words cannot describe how impressed and elated I am by the performances and professionalism of the Philadelphia String Quartet. I had a 60th Surprise Birthday Party for my Husband. A friend of mine had attended a wedding where she had heard the quartet and insisted I listen to them and have them perform at my Husband's party. I was apprehensive, but trusted my friend completely. I was also apprehensive because my husband is a trained musician and is very critical of his music. I spoke to them an felt assured they were the right fit for my event. I had all ages attend the party and it is difficult to please all; however, The Philadelphia String Quartet satisfied all. They are multi-talented playing classical music and current music allowing for dancing. I have never been so satisfied and have had such a wonderful experience with this Quartet. All of our guests repeatedly asked who they were and my husband was exceptionally satisfied. I am emphatic when I say, their performance, professionalism, flexibility and value is and are five star worthy. I look forward to having a future event to have them play again.

Everything about PSQ is phenomenal! They did an amazing job for our wedding and cocktail hour and Mugu was so helpful throughout the entire process. While everything was amazing, the highlight was when I heard the song I had asked to have music written for played for the first time as our processional started - it was absolutely perfectly arranged and performed and I would listen to it over and over again if I could it was just that beautiful. In total they arranged 3 not very well known songs that I requested and each one transformed the essence of the song perfectly to the strings in a way that far exceeded my expectations. They even accompanied one of my bridesmaids in a song, which not only sounded amazing, but she was so impressed with how quickly they adapted to the way she sang it with hardly any practice. I highly recommend PSQ and am so pleased with what a great job they did!

These guys were amazing. All of our guests were so impressed by the music they played at our cocktail hour. We had several phone conversations and meetings and we worked to make this a surprise for the bride. They even learned a song that she liked that was not in their regular playlists. Then, they waited until she was in front of them (because she was being pulled in many directions) to play it. If you want amazing music, you should certainly hire the Philadelphia String Quartet because they know what they are doing, and are professional and flexible. They are willing to pay attention to minute details or, if given the freedom, they are fully capable of putting together a wonderfully flowing set of music for your event. We only specified a couple of pieces for the Bride's entrance and the recessional, and they filled in the rest with the genre of music we specified. My daughter thoughtfully planned her ceremony which was somewhat non-traditional with music by Bright Eyes, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys and Ray Lamontagne. The Philadelphia Sting Quartet executed the program flawlessly and the ceremony was as beautiful as any I have ever witnessed. In addition, the music played while guests were seated set the tone for the evening. The big hit however was the popular music played on electric strings during cocktail hour. Everyone was blown away and the compliments came non-stop! Absolutely spectacular. I recommend PSQ without reservation. Professional, talented, flexible, a pleasure to work with. I gave five stars in all categories, not because I simply wanted to get this completed but because every detail, from initial outreach, to the last-minute change of venue, due to weather, was handled with the utmost in professionalism and courtesy. I have thrown many weddings and large-scale events in my life, both professionally and as a volunteer, and I can truly say Philadelphia String Quartet is the most (superlative stressed) responsive musical act I have ever used. The quality of their performance is exceptional and they handle everything (we had twelve microphones, a children's choir, soloist, grooms and officiant with lapel microphones, etc.). We also used PSQ to suggest and coordinate the DJ, sound expert, and soloist. A "one stop shop" to simplify our complex wedding logistics!

To be honest The Philadelphia String Quartet, led by Mugu, was nothing short of incredible. Their professionalism, flexibility, and execution was everything my wife and I could ask for. We charged them with working with our DJ to perform a recessional to Kanye West, "All of the Lights" and it worked out perfectly. Their diligence to perfect your wants and ideas is bar none and I would recommend them for any wedding.

PSQ provided the music for my wedding ceremony and it was perfect. We requested a custom written piece for the wedding procession and they learned it and played it beautifully. I would highly recommend them!!

Working with Mugu at Philadelphia String Quartet was amazing. We used PSQ for our ceremony music. Mugu was so knowledge in helping us to pick the perfect blend of modern and classical music that would flow perfectly for our ceremony. Each song we picked blended perfectly into the next without any interruptions or awkward silence. I would highly recommend Philadelphia String Quartet they are incredibly talented and amazing to work with.

Incredible!! The Philadelphia String Quartet were amazing and made our special night even more so. Mugu and his wife are so insanely talented, our guests were blown away by their performance. My wife and I got married in Miami and there was zero confusion or hassle about getting the Philadelphia String Quartet to perform there. They were 100% the right choice for my wedding and cocktail hour. From the moment I called to book them, to the moment they left the event, they were easy to work with, professional, caring and fun. Through the planning process, I was super indecisive of what I wanted to have played and when and Monique was helpful, but not overpowering, unlike some other vendors I was working with. She listened to what I wanted from the quartet and made suggestions, but I was never pressured to go with a certain genre or song. We we able to talk through what I imagined and eventually I figured out what I wanted. After I figured that out, they called me a week before my wedding to confirm everything to make sure that everything was in order and I hadn't changed my mind.

Every time I saw them play, I could see on their faces and hear it through their music how much they love what they do and how much they love entertaining and sharing their love of music. I love watching them play and would hire them again for another event in a heartbeat.

We had the PSQ play at both our ceremony and cocktail hour at the Union Trust and couldn't have been happier! I had seen them perform before, and they were just as good as I had remembered! Not only are these musicians talented and expressive in the music they play, they are so professional and responsive. All emails and questions were immediately answered. Mugu was excellent with this! Although I was not able to listen to the entire music play list I requested (which, by the way, is the most extensive and varied I have ever seen..they can play anything!) due to being the bride and being out of the way of the crowd, our guests consistently commented on beautifully they played. We are so happy to have had them play for our Ceremony!!

PSQ were perfectly marvelous! They played for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and our requests and needs were accommodated perfectly. In fact, my expectations were exceeded because they really couldn't have played more beautifully. My family commented on how thoroughly they enjoyed the music. I got married in a classic, historic place, and their performance so complimented the elegance of the venue, and really made our day feel magical. I can't say enough about the professionalism and quality of music that the Philadelphia String Quartet provided for my daughters wedding. We had them play for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. PSQ was the perfect choice of string quartet for our ceremony and prelude/postlude music. Mugu was a pleasure to work with when setting up the contract and to firm up all the final music details. He was very flexible with any changes and made sure to keep me as relaxed and without worry as possible :) The group was there on the beach (Long Branch, NJ) early to set up/rehearse and played beautifully! They also provided the DJ for our day and Mike was great and made sure to include all of our musical choices and helped keep things lively and fun! Definitely book Philadelphia String Quartet---you will be so happy you did!

The Philadelphia String Quartet was absolutely fantastic. Their music made you feel as if you were in heaven. They were extremely professional and talented. Don't ever hesitate to use them for any function. If we have another wedding in our family, I will use them again.
