They put in so much time and dedication to make your event perfect!

Phil & Mary did an AMAZING job! We would highly recommend! We wrote down the songs that we wanted and Phil & Mary went over every song with us during our meeting and made sure it was a good fit. I felt confident in asking Phil questions about the wedding because he has done so many of them. He made us a timeline that was very detailed that we followed instead of our day of coordinators timeline. Phil & Mary made sure we were ready to move on to the next thing so we didn’t feel rushed. They came out to dance with us and Phil just made it so much fun! We would highly highly recommend them for any event! They’re amazing! And they put in so much work to make your event perfect!

Overall awesome DJ

Phil and his wife are super responsive from the initial phone call, to the pre-wedding planning meeting, and the day of coordination. It made the day go by smoothly and all requests for the timeline were met I always dreamed of one big dance party and everyone was on the dance floor thanks to Phil!

Amazing pair!

Such an amazing experience. Mary and Phil know how to organize, communicate and deliver. They made the entire process seamless and easy considering everything else that is needed to be worried about during this special time. Mary assisted my bride as well during the ceremony to grand entrance. Both were both extremely personable during the entire experience and made our special day easy and fun. Can't Recommend Enough!

You will not regret hiring Phil! Phil is not only so nice and responsive, but he is also so professional. My husband and I were so reassured by his professionalism. Phil not only took our recommendations into consideration, but he knew exactly the right music to play to get people on the dance floor. He was the DJ for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and everything went so smoothly. Not only that, Phil's wife, Mary was there to help. Phil and Mary are such a great team and so fun!! They are a big part of why our wedding was such a good time. I even received positive comments from the guests. Please do yourself a favor and hiring them. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Star Wars Themed Party

We hired Phil Birdsell to DJ our party at the Nugget in Sparks, NV. We were celebrating the end of our regional choral convention with a Star Wars themed "glow-in-the-dark" dance for 200 women. Phil and his wife, Mary were the perfect fit for our group who wanted a mix of pop/dance music from many eras. Phil was professional, timely, thorough, and affordable. He tailored the music and evening events to our party theme, and joined in the Star Wars fun too. His sound equipment was professional and perfect for the large ballroom. He was flexible with some last minute changes to the program and encouraged everyone to participate throughout the night. We danced the night away and didn't want it to end!

Great fun!

We hired Phil for a professional conference to play music during our Award’s Banquet. We had a theme of Weird Science and Phil put together a very fun and thoughtful play list that everyone enjoyed. He also was able to come up with some great “play-up” music for the winners with very short notice as the winners were chosen the afternoon before the event.

Phil and Mary are the best!

Phil and Mary were absolutely wonderful to work with! They are professional, fun, and enjoyable to work with before and during the wedding. They kept our special day on schedule, kept everyone in tune with the goings on, and got everyone dancing! I have been to multiple weddings where few people dance and it's rather uncomfortable. This was not our wedding! EVERYONE Danced! Phil and Mary can read the room and play what's appropriate and when. They are a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them!

A Flawless Hire and Experience

We are SO glad we hired Phil, him and his wife are not only an amazing team but are true skilled professionals. The whole process from beginning to end was dare I say...EASY! Which is not common for planning a destination wedding on your own. They helped make our wedding so special and we danced all night long. Our families aren't big dancers but Phil did a great job of trying to keep people on the dance floor in a way that wasn't cheesy or obvious but was done in a way that shows the art of being a great MC.
We also had a live violinist who he also had to coordinate with and that in of itself was seamless. If there was one vendor we definitely didn't have to worry about being prepared or organized it was Phil which was amazing.
I would recommend hiring him to all of our friend and family, although that isn't really required since he proved himself to be a truly skilled DJ. I am so lucky to have found him and his wife to make our day truly special.

A truly blessed experience

Thank God for this couple. They were more than happy to accommodate mine and my husband's particulars wants for our wedding. The wedding moved along faster than we thought and Phil and Mary were awesome with adapting and keeping things interesting and fun!

Epic entertainment!

Dj Phill is an excellent MC and DJ! We got married on 10/10/2020 with about 50 guests in attendance. Due to COVID-19 we weren't able to meet in person before the wedding, but several emails and zoom sessions before the wedding we had a plan for the music and general flow of the evening. Phill had us fill out song selections of song that we love and a Do Not Play list. He was able to accommodate our uncommon song requests and true to there word nothing on out do not play list was played. They kept us on schedule for the speeches (even wiped down the mic with sanitizing wipes in between speakers) and dances. They had some wonderful recommendations for us with cake cutting music and they got our parents dancing thriller. From start to finish our guests were able to enjoy music for a flawless evening. I highly recommend DJ Phill entertainment, they're exceptionally professional. (Sorry for the late review. #newlyweds#forgetful)

The Best of the Best

My husband & I met Phil & his wife on a cruise some years ago & was immediately amazed at his talent, his knowledge & experience of the music industry. We became close friends & recently when one of our granddaughters was planning her wedding I said “it will be Phil for the DJ/MC or none” because I know how he cares about each bride & groom. This wedding was planned from out of town so he took as many zoom meetings as necessary. Phil takes all the worry out of your wedding. He can lead you from start to finish with any type of music you request . He keep’s everything flowing smoothly. He is a very experienced professional, very energetic & caring. Phil is THE BEST!! From helping with song choices, MC'ing the nights events, and keeping all guests on the dance floor, he is the one to choose. Not only does he have years of experience but he gets to know his clients and personalizes the event specifically for them. He did not disappoint. Clearly hands down one of the best. From our first meeting with Phil over 10 years ago we knew we made the right choice for our Wedding DJ. During that first meeting, we discussed what we definitely wanted to hear and what music should absolutely be not played.

Phil adhered to all of our wishes and offered great suggestions and advice.

Fast forward 10 years later and we hired Phil again for our 10-year anniversary party. There is no doubt that we made the right choice. The music was excellent and Phil was very instrumental in getting everyone up, dancing and having a good time.

We would not hesitate to hire Phil again. In fact, we have recommended him to a number of our friends and they ended up hiring him and told us they were happy with their decision. Do not hesitate, call Phil today!

Oh my goodness where do I even begin?! Phil is one of the best decisions I made during wedding planning! Our coordinator had to do hardly anything because Phil basically planned out our whole itinerary! He is amazing at what he does and his positive uplifting energy just makes you feel so good! Just talking to the guy puts a smile on your face, so I knew my guests would have an awesome time if he was there! When we had our meeting to go over the song list, he was so great at helping us visualize it all coming together. Needless to say, the dance floor was never empty! He played all the right songs at all the right times! So many of our guests came up to us and said they had so much fun and it was the best wedding they've ever been to! I know for a fact, Phil played a major part in that! When we returned from our honeymoon, we came home to a nice surprise! Phil sent a personalized cd in the mail with a soundtrack that played on our wedding day. That disc holds memories that will last a lifetime and it was such a kind gesture. I can't express how happy I am with having Phil DJ our wedding! It's been the best experience and I can't thank him enough!

We were not even sure if we wanted to have an MC at our wedding but we are so happy that we found Phil! He took the time to meet with us so we could discuss our vision for our special day and discuss options for the music and announcements. Phil was the DJ at my Daughters wedding on 3/11/17 but he is more then just a DJ, he was an MC.
He did a great job and I received comments from our guests that he was the best they have every seen.
Some of the comments were about his sound system how they could hear every word when they were saying their vows.
Phil is very professional, entertaining and will do whatever it takes to make your day special.
He is simply the best and well worth the money. You will not be disappointed, if Phil is already booked on day of your wedding change your wedding date. He is worth it.

Phil is the best!! We heard about him from our family friends whose daughters BOTH used him for their weddings! We reached out to him and knew right away he was going to be the one for our wedding. We met him in person and talked for 2 hours and he is just a wonderful human being who truly wants to make your day magical! We walked through the whole night and he helped us make a timeline for our special day.

Phil goes above and beyond to make your day special. He is not only a great DJ but also a wonderful MC who truly connects with people! He always kept the party going and added his own special touches like singing along with the Elvis songs (he does a great impression!!). He had our timeline out and ready and followed it just like we wanted. He played the songs we wanted and everything went so smoothly.

Phil also brought an assistant with him and both of them were taking pictures all night. His assistant would walk around and get candid shots of people dancing and hanging out. It was nice to get some extra pictures besides the ones from the photographer. If you are looking for an amazing DJ, MC, and genuinely kind-hearted, fun-loving person, Phil is that guy!

Wow my new wife and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ at our wedding! Phil was amazing! He made us fee like family in every planning meeting. He took care of EVERYTHING! He couldn't have made this process any easier on us. We had a smaller wedding with about 100 guests and he had everyone involved and on the dance floor having a great time all night! Phil is the reason my almost 80-year-old grandmother made it to the dance floor more than for just slow songs at my wedding. He KILLED it. Everyone loved him; he's become a bit of a folk legend amongst the family. Hire him. He's worth every penny, and he will make your day so, so fun.

My husband and I can literally not say enough good things about Phil! We hired him for our wedding and he was beyond fantastic. The awesome thing about Phil is he goes above and beyond his duty and is WAY MORE than just a wedding DJ...he was an MC and all around entertainer. He knows how to connect and make people feel comfortable and let me tell you our dance floor was PACKED the whole night! It was a special touch when he would come out and dance with the crowd himself and the day after the wedding he sent us TONS of candid photos from the days festivities that we aren't going to get anywhere else. Phil Is the most fun and professional Dj I have ever met. He made my wedding day unforgettable. Every single one of my guest were saying how amazing he was. He Got everyone to dance all night long and kept everything flowing so perfectly. He also takes pictures for u and sends them to you. I wouldn't choose anyone else beside Phil Birdsell. He makes sure everyone is have a great times and gets on the dance flor with u and teaches the guest how to dance to songs like cha cha slide and cuspids shuffle. We all thoroughly enjoyed Phil's personable and friendly approach to providing his service with a passion. His willingness to accommodate all of our ceremonial and reception audio needs was most helpful. He was willing to help with the videographer's direct wireless feed from his ceremony system, a laptop slideshow feed to his reception system, and provide flexibility while keeping our reception lively and loads of fun. Everyone, and I mean everyone, that was there to share our day had an absolute time of their lives. Phil is a gem, he really was exactly what we had hoped for in a DJ And MC. Friendly, knowledgeable, prompt (so much so than even we were!), and so much fun.

Phil DJ'ed our wedding and we were very lucky to have found him. He was friendly, kept the party lively, even kept us on schedule throughout the night!

We met for an hour and a half before the wedding to plan song choices and general layout. He was exceptionally helpful in guiding us to pick the music for the whole night, getting to know our preferences and style and putting together a great song list that everyone at our wedding could enjoy. He was also able to get some lesser known songs and to edit them perfectly for our ceremony. What is really great about Phil is how well he works with people. We felt at ease with him immediately, and he truly has a gift for communicating effectively and warmly with people, which is exactly what you want when planning your big day!

Night of he was very enthusiastic and energetic. Everything we could have hoped for in a wedding DJ and more. He definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. He and his assistant were attentive throughout the night and helped out wherever they could, stepping in to carry heavy items for some of our elderly guests and even helping out when one guest fell and needed attention. Our family and friends all gave overwhelmingly positive feedback to us, both during the wedding and after about how much they enjoyed Phil's MCing and how helpful he was the whole night.

A co worker had recommended Phil and she was sooo right! From initial planning stages straight thru til last call and packing up and removing all his sound systems and lighting, he was nothing short of perfection!! The guests all loved him!! Phil was an amazing DJ/MC and he helped to keep the party going all night long! All of our guests enjoyed the music he played, which varied greatly as we had several generations at our wedding. The dance floor was constantly full of guests dancing and having a good time, all thanks to Phil. Phil was always so responsive to emails and calls and very organized. During our planning meeting he walked us through everything and put my mind at ease. We interviewed several other DJ's before we met with Phil but as soon as we walked out of our first meeting with Phil my husband and I both knew we loved him and he was the person that we wanted to hire for our wedding. While we got married in California we actually live out of the state so all of our correspondence with Phil was via email and phone up until the wedding day. Phil was an absolutely amazing DJ and we honestly could not have asked for better! Everything flowed so seamlessly from the ceremony through to the reception and everybody had such a blast!!! We had people tell us that the ceremony was just the most whimsical, ethereal music for the setting and to be able to pull off that AND the amazing party music (and awesome lighting!) that followed at the reception is just something not many could pull off the way he did. It was simply perfect, what an amazing emcee! Not only that, but he went above and beyond to make sure everything went to schedule and flowed the entire time without a single hitch. If you asked me, I couldn't find even one tiny thing to complain about because everything he accomplished ran flawlessly and we are so happy we chose him for our wedding! Phil provided everything we needed before the wedding, during the wedding, and after the wedding. He went above and beyond in so many ways. He made us feel very comfortable and answered all of our questions. He was honest and his contract was very clear. We are extremely happy that we chose Phil to be our DJ. He generously met with us in person to go over the music for the entire day and he even sent us a CD copy of all of the main songs from our special day. We listen to the CD all the time now! Phil also sent us pictures that him and his assistant took throughout the night! Some of these pictures are our very favorites. We are very pleased with the quality of service and value we received. We received many compliments from our wedding guests and we had to add a time extension at the end of the night. The most professional DJ Phil Birdsell you out did yourself. July 18th was to be the perfect day for our daughter's wedding but Mother Nature had other plans. Phil started the amazing music planned for the wedding, put on a plastic rain poncho made sure all the guest got into there seats under the tent and entertained till the wedding started. It was a because of Phil keeping everyone up and dancing in the rain that so many of out friends said it was the best wedding they had ever attended... Phil was truly amazing. As this was our first, and hopefully only wedding, we were overwhelmed with all of the planning and idea of scheduling our day. Phil did this for us. Not only did he create an entirely custom musical experience that expressed our style perfectly, he scheduled every moment from start to finish. We did not have a day of coordinator because we had Phil and I had a fantastic maid of honor to keep things on track. Phil made our entire day flow so seamlessly. Phil was super gracious and calm as my loud family decided they all wanted to give speeches after I asked them not to. He then got the mic back very politely. He even helped us plan a way for my fiance to get his garter toss without me having to have him go up my dress, something that I was very uncomfortable with.

I want to have another party so that Phil can DJ, he is worth every penny, and then some. I will use Phil for everything from here on out.

My wife and I were lucky enough to meet Phil at the Camarillo Bridal Showcase last year, and even luckier to have won a discount on his services. I never thought about the fact that your wedding DJ will be part of your memories forever, but you can tell that Phil does. His one-on-one meetings are always going to be a blast in the midst of two different music tastes (mine and my wife's for example), and it is amazing how quickly and easily adapts.

As far as the event, well we only had about 50 people at our wedding and there was one common statement made afterwards; There was more dancing at our wedding than most weddings with 200+ people. We both know that we owe that to Phil and is professional ability and experience to maximize the fun.

Overall, his dedication and passion for what he does shines through and if you are looking for somebody to go above and beyond and take care of your guests, Phil needs to be your first choice--Scratch that, he needs to be your ONLY choice.

Phil was such a perfect fit for our wedding. We were planning our wedding from out of town, and Phil was very accommodating, taking the time to Skype with us for hours to get everything perfect. He's very fun to work with and truly loves what he does. We received a lot of compliments on our music and on Phil's presence and personality as an MC. Several of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had been to, and we think Phil played a large role in that.

On the planning side, he has worked with weddings for many years, so we took advantage of the guidance he offered with the logistics and flow of the reception. Everything was flawless, and he incorporated some fun elements that made the reception really special and memorable. He was very easy to get in touch with and always responded quickly to our questions. Another nice perk is that he captured some great photos of the night and sent us some prints along with a CD of select music from our wedding. Truly special!

After we met with Phil for our initial consultation, we knew we were going to have a great wedding. He not only helped get my husband and I on track with a timeline for our day months before (which as the day got closer I learned how valuable that timeline was!), he continued to keep us on track the day of, played all our selected songs, and MC'ed the event beautifully. Phil did an excellent job for us with all of our sound needs at our rehearsal dinner, ceremony music, and wedding reception! He is a really professional, knowledgeable, and responsive Wedding DJ / MC.

During our planning meetings, he offered insight and support and a listening ear. He played all the music hubby and I wanted from the 1940's up to the 2010's plus requests, just when we wanted it played. He was great at reading the crowd and checking in with bride, groom, and event manager to keep things rolling right along and timed perfectly.

Everyone had a blast!! His personality is upbeat and sensitive at the same time. I received many compliments from friends, family, and the Venue staff at Arts and Letters Cafe. They want him to do all of their parties! Great Job!

Our recent wedding was so much fun for me and my guests that people couldn't stop talking about it for days! And it's because of Phil! My friends who normally wouldn't of gotten up and danced at an event actually danced a lot with me. Phil was not only professional but he was he was fun to get to know and made our wedding very personal and had creative ideas to include our 3 children and make our ceremony meaningful and beautiful! I can't express enough how impressed I am with Phil and what a wonderful event he made our wedding! I would highly recommend him to any Bride and Groom choosing a DJ!

Phil is great - works with you to get everything planned ahead of time. He keeps people on the dance floor all night. He is professional and very friendly. The dance floor lights definitely made it fun. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family!!

Phil was such a great man to work with. My husband and I were pretty difficult with our busy time schedule and werent able to have much time with Phil prior to our wedding, but that didnt stop Phil from making sure that everything we wanted was going to happen! He was willing to plan through phone calls and emails on a day to day basis and he worked with us in any way possible to ensure we had all the music we wanted. My husband and I are younger (22 & 26) and so we obviously love the latest and greatest music around. Phil had no problem finding every song we wanted, even the no name bands that we liked. He was able to capture the best moments through his music and he got EVERYONE to the dance floor. I believe there wasnt one dry forehead in the house when he was done with us. It was such a pleasure to have the chance to work with Phil! He is definitely highly recommended!!!

Phil was fantastic. He is so personable, joyful and easily gets the attention of the crowd. We gave him a partial list of songs and the rest of the music he played was perfect. Phil did a wonderful job of transitioning from cocktail hour, dismissing tables, announcing the bridal party, etc. Our wedding took place in Los Olivos at the Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse. He dressed to match our style, sang a stellar Frank Sinatra song to honor my grandfather, and was all around a great guy.
Not to mention he drove 3 hours from another wedding to fit us into his schedule, amidst the crazy SB Jesusita Fires.
Bravo Phil, Bravo.

I hired Phil for my wedding & he was great. He not only dj-ed, but he brought lighting for the dance floor, MC'd the night & took some fantastic pictures.
He was extremely reasonably priced, and he has tons of experience-- in fact one of the reasons I hired him is because he had a lot of experience at our venue,
which was great because they have a very specific way they want the speakers set up so as not to bother the neighbors.
He moved the events a long, gave the event some structure and played all of our fave music.
And, he helped set up our friend that was going to play the keyboard during our ceremony.
I'd totally hire him again and I could see him being super fantastic at djing a regular party as well.

I can't say enough great things about Phil and the wonderful job he did for my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception. Phil was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end!!!! I received many compliments that night, as well as, a couple of days after the wedding about how great Phil was. The music wasn't too loud that people couldn't converse. He kept the party going and going. I highly recommend Phil and will use him again!

Phil was awesome!!! We booked him for our wedding ceremony and reception. He was entertaining and kept the entire event running smoothly. He is very detail oriented and organized and took the time to meet with us to plan our event in detail. He is very friendly and professional and my own mother actually thought he was a good friend of ours because of how well he knew us and the interactions we had with him. Phil's effort to plan and execute our ceremony showed that he really cared about the success of our wedding. Phil went above and beyond by creating a CD of our important songs from the wedding and reception and taking, printing out, and sending us pictures that he took during the event. If you want to ensure that your event flows and you and your guests have a great time, you should definitely book Phil for your event!!!!

On a personal level, Phil is just a terrific guy! He is quick with a smile and always upbeat. He has a genuine heart. I went to five bridal shows, and DJ's there are a dime a dozen--UNTIL I MET PHIL! I knew that he was the DJ for our wedding!

On a professional level, Phil is so easy to work with and he genuinely LOVES what he does. He takes the time to sit down with you before the wedding and get a feeling of what music you like, how you envision your wedding, what songs are favorites, wedding/reception timing, etc. If you think about it, your DJ is the "conductor" of your wedding. You will be very happy if you hire Phil. Honestly, he was the ONE vendor that I did not worry about "getting it right".

After the wedding he sends you a CD with your music, and photos that he takes from his viewpoint. He just adds those special touchs that aren't necessary, but so appreciated. He goes above and beyond!

Thank you SO much Phil! You truly made our magical day, even MORE magical! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him!

Phill Birdsell did an awesome job as our DJ at our wedding. From doing the ceremony and reception it was the total package of pure profesionalism, and made the event and our guests have the greatest time. Phils suggestions and knowledge was over the top and we couldn't have hired anyone else that would have done the great job Phil did. Phil knew we had a busy schudule before the wedding and he accomodated it and that really helped alot. You just can't go wrong with Phil. What a great night. Phil provided all sound and entertainment for both the ceremony and the reception. He timed everything perfectly and kept the entire night running smoothly so we could enjoy the evening Everyone had a wonderful time and all commented on what a great job Phil did. Phil was an amazing DJ. Not only did he work within our budget, but he put thought and effort into making our event special. From our planning meeting to suggesting and sampling many songs for different parts of the ceremony. Our wedding day was crazy enough having to move an outdoor event into an inside one do to rain and lots of it. However, Phil managed to roll with the punches and get it taken care of without adding to the craziness... Which was so appreciated. It should also be noted that he went to the venue prior to the event to familiarize himself with the lay out etc... Which also helped lessen the craziness of the day. Great experience and highly recommended! Thanks for everything Phil!!!

Phil was so amazing at our wedding! This is the second time we have used him in the family and we will continue to use him for future events! He is so involved and so upbeat and creating our timeline and playlist for the wedding was so much fun! We wanted the whole wedding to be fun and personal to us and he did that, including playing "Tequila!" during our ceremony! He took his time and we never felt rushed about anything. Then to go above and beyond, he took pictures throughout the wedding and we got some amazing pictures of us and our guests dancing throughout the night! Phil Birdsell's services are top-notch! He was incredibly helpful in coordinating with us and making sure we had a smooth flow of events during our wedding reception, and provided great input not just on music but also on order of events, wording, and plenty of other details! Phil went far above and beyond what we expected from a wedding DJ.

He's charismatic, energetic and is all-around easy to work with. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else for our DJ services for the wedding!

Phil was exceptional! I was referred to him by my best man who saw Phil at another wedding. He is very professional in terms of appearance, having the right equipment, making appropriate announcements and having a large music collection. But what really sets him apart is his enthusiasm in terms of getting and keeping the party going. If you are lucky, he may sing a song or two ;) Overall, a great experience.

Phil is just awesome and is as good as it gets! Out of all the Dj's I researched and spoke to, Phil was hands down, THE BEST and with a VERY reasonable price! He's not someone that plays just music, but he also entertains and gets your crowd involved. He kept the dancefloor packed and our guests loved him. Never a dull moment with Phil and our wedding Ceremony and reception couldn't have gone any smoother.
