Jen is amazing!
I had the pleasure of having Jen do my make up for me for both my mini-ceremony AND (postponed) reception. Both times were absolutely phenomenal (true to her name!) I cannot recommend Jen enough... I had so many friends ask me where I had my make up done because it looked so natural but wedding-glam at the same time! My bridesmaid could not stop talking about how her make up suited her perfectly. You cannot go wrong with having Jen work her magic for your big day! -

Truly lifesavers for our Covid wedding!
Jennifer and Yahnni were wonderful! They provided great recommendations for my hair and make-up, but always made sure that I was comfortable with the style that I wanted. I appreciated how kind, funny, supportive and communicative they were. I felt so special and glammed up on the day of the wedding! I would definitely recommend their services to everyone! -

EVERYONE was GLAM because of you!
Jamie is THE BEST! I had 11 members of my bridal party to get through, so the schedule was tight. She stayed right on pace with the schedule we made ahead of time so that everyone was ready with time to spare for pictures. She was able to work with multiple skin types and makeup requests and everyone looked so beautiful. She was so accommodating to the variety of requests. She is kind and helpful and knowledgeable with advice on how to make the styles last. AND DID THEY! 12 hours later - everyone's face was still flawless! -

Jen is THE BEST. She did an amazing job with my makeup and all my bridesmaids and on top of that - is just an amazing person to be around. She is super professional and brings all her own lights and makeup and literally have every single shade of every single product - something for everyone. She was super easy to work with, super flexible and absolutely nailed the look I was going for (and I am very picky about my makeup!) I highly recommend! -

O to the M to the G. I am convinced that I would have never looked as beautiful if I didn’t hire Jen. I am a little more eccentric but my bridesmaids are/were pretty plain and were not even sure if they wanted a face full of makeup. However, once they saw the talent that IS Jennifer Lee of Phenomenal Faces on some of us – they ALL jumped on board. My mom has never looked better, my bridesmaids ALL agree that Jen was incredible (without piling on too much makeup) and my mother-in-law has never been so happy with her look that Jen created for her! Jen pulled it all together for us, was extremely accommodating after all the changes with my bridesmaids, traveled quite far (North Carolina) and was just a professional all around. Jen has incredible talent so book her immediately (if she isn’t already booked)….. -

Jennifer was so great to work with! Since I don't normally wear a lot of makeup I had a bit of a hard time describing the look I was going for for my wedding day but Jennifer immediately got my vision. She did makeup for my entire bridal party and all of the ladies kept commenting on how much they loved their makeup. 100% would book her again!!! But book early! I snagged her a year in advance just to make sure she would be free for my wedding and I'm so glad I did. -

Jennifer Lee is amazing! Seriously.... make sure you book way in advance (I booked 11 months out). As an Asian female, it is extremely hard to look for a MUA that can do Asian make up...well. Jennifer delivers! Not only are her make up skills on point but she is so freaking friendly and has such a great attitude and personality. I loved working with her and so did my entire bridal party. I was very particular about my make up (likes and dislikes) and Jennifer was very accommodating to my wants. You cannot go wrong with Jennifer. I would highly recommend her! -

I can't say enough good things about Jen! She was on me for the necessary deposits, scheduling my trial and information she needed from me because there are so many things to think about, it was great that she was thinking for me! My mom and I had so much fun going to her house for our trial, we had a great time. The day of the wedding she was cool, calm and collected. Had the girls and myself laughing and did everyone in exactly (if not less) than the time allowed and everyone was extremely happy with the outcome. It ended up raining on my wedding day and the #1 thing everyone said to me afterwards was that my makeup looked untouched! THANK YOU JEN! Jen and I are still friends even after the wedding, and I will definitely be going back to her. Check out her instagram for my debut :-) Love you Jen! -

Jennifer went above and beyond on our wedding day! She showed up early (it was even still dark out!!!) and even though we were running a little bit behind, she didn't miss a beat! She even was able to squeeze in makeup for my grandma at the last minute! She was so accommodating and helpful with the planning process and all the ladies absolutely loved their makeup! I can't say enough great things about Jennifer. I received so many compliments on the looks she created for my entire wedding party! My wedding make-up was applied by 8am and was still nearly perfect by 10pm. I only needed to reapply lipstick. I asked her to arrive by 6am to begin applying make-up, and she was 15 minutes early! Yay! She also worked beautifully with my hair stylist! I would highly recommend her and will certainly use her again in the future. She is a true gem. -

I absolutely enjoyed working with Jennifer! She is one of the most talented makeup artists I've ever met. I worked with her on a photo shoot in 2010, and when I found out my best friend was getting married, I knew Jennifer had to be the makeup artist for my best friends special day. Jennifer was on time, well prepared, and had all of the bridesmaids and bride done in a timely manner. I highly recommend her for any event that requires beautification! -

I booked Jennifer for my wedding and a black tie event. Jennifer was wonderful! It was a pleasure to work with her for my wedding. She did my makeup, 6 other bridesmaids and my mom. We looked gorgeous! She arrived on time and weeks leading up to the wedding, she sent reminders to make sure that nothing had changed. -

I worked with Jennifer from Phenomenal Faces for my wedding and bridal party makeup and I never felt more beautiful! From the makeup trials where she took the time to go over various looks with me. She helped me understand and highlight which type of makeup would be best for my skin, look, etc. she also took the time to answer all 99 questions that I had about scheduling makeup for the bridal party on my wedding day. Since working with Jennifer for my wedding I have also used her for birthdays and now my upcoming baby shower! No matter what the event, she will make you look AND feel beautiful not only on the outside, but on the inside with her beautiful personality! -

Thank you so much, Jennifer Lee! If you're looking for a make-up artist who can glam you up and give you your perfect look... do yourself a favor and see if she is available! Jen is an incredibly gifted make-up artist and definitely the best decision I made during my wedding planning process. I wanted a MUA who would know how to work with Asian faces (read: monolids) since I'm Korean, and she more than exceeded my expectations and made me look and feel like a goddess. Through tears, dance sweat, and hugs and kisses, my make-up looked FLAWLESS the whole time and lasted well after our reception was over. Honestly, I thought I looked so fabulous, I wanted to sleep with my make-up on just so I could look amazing the next day! I cannot say enough about her skills as a make-up artist - her work speaks for itself and I recommend you check out her IG/FB pages to see what I'm talking about. Skills aside, she is such a sweet, down-to-earth person and an absolute pleasure to work with! She's responsive, accommodating, and incredibly professional (everything you hope every vendor for your big day will be!), and I had so much fun just chatting with her and getting to know her. She is, without a doubt, my go-to MUA for any future functions/events I will attend in the DMV area. LOVE HER and I know you will to! :) -

Jennifer is a MAKEUP GODESS! I got married on the hottest day of the summer I'm pretty sure and let me tell you, my makeup looked flawless into the next day even AFTER I jumped in the pool! We were crying nonstop while getting ready, between the emotions and the gifts and everything and she was so professional about having to retouch our makeup over and over again! It was very important for me to get an asian makeup artist as I myself am an asian and she was pure perfection! It only took her no more than 30 minutes per bridesmaid and not even the full 45 minutes allotted for myself. If I was rich enough to hire her as my personal makeup artist I would have no hesitation! I can't wait to use her again! -

Jennifer was a dream to work with! Very responsive and an amazing makeup artist. She's very flexible and open to adjust the makeup the way you want it. She did my makeup and bridesmaids and mothers' makeup, which included all different ethnicities (asian, hispanic, caucasian) and everyone was very happy with her work. We all got several compliments throughout the wedding and people commenting that the MUA did a fantastic job. I can't recommend her enough. Aside from being a great MUA, she's easy to talk to and personable. I definitely plan to use her if I ever need my makeup done again! -

I was referred by a friend. Jennifer was quick to respond when I first contacted her. At my makeup trial, I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she did exactly as asked! The service that I received from Jennifer of Phenomenal Faces was absolutely fantastic! She is a true professional that is very skilled in her craft. She is warm, welcoming, easy to talk to and truly cares about how you want to look for your event. Since I am not familiar with the "makeup" world, Jennifer took the time to explain the products she was using on my face and what each was for. She asked me what I wanted to look like and she provided me with the look I wanted. For my wedding day, she was early for my appointment, had her usual smile and pleasant demeanor and won't let me out of the chair until she felt I looked my very best. Jennifer at Phenomenal faces is the best make-up artist in the area hands down. She is an artist! When I saw myself with my completed makeup I felt that I looked the best I possibly could without looking like I was wearing too much makeup. She has all the equipment and even provided a purse sized lip gloss for me and my bridesmaids to touch up as the night went on. I had my foundation airbrushed on and it lasted the entire night without needing any touchups. Her travel fee is beyond reasonable and she is fun to work with as well. It felt like she was one of the girls on the big day and I hope to use her again in the future at any special event for which I want to look my best.

Jennifer did an amazing job at my wedding and made my mother, my maid of honor, and me look and feel absolutely beautiful for my special day. My mother and I did a trial make up session at her house and she was so patient with us and listened to what we wanted. Jen never rushed us and was always more than happy to try new shades and colors until we were satisfied. Jen airbrushed my mother's face and then did it with traditional make up on separate occasions until my mother felt comfortable. My mother normally does not wear make up so Jennifer helped my mother with choosing make up that felt more lighter and natural. I was very appreciative that Jen was so patient and accommodating with her wishes. Jen made my mother look so amazing, my mother never looked so beautiful. Jen came to the hotel the day of my wedding and we all had a blast with her, I wish I had asked her to the wedding! She did a fantastic job with my makeup, I never had to touch up my face all through out the night, even after a couple hours of dancing! I didn't want to wash my face off at the end of the night! My maid of honor was going to do her own make up but after she saw me and my mother, we were able to convince her to let Jen do her face too and she looked so beautiful. Even my maid of honor said she couldn't believe how good she looked with getting her face professionally done. My maid of honor and I both had our make up airbrushed and my mother chose traditional make up. I would also like to say that Jen was great with working with all types of ethnicity and skin types, I am in my early 40's and half Asian, my mother is in her early 70's and white, and my maid of honor is black and a year younger than me. I highly recommend Jen to anyone who wants to feel and look amazing for any special occasion. -

I love Jennifer! There isn't enough that I can say about her. The name of her company fits her work perfectly...truly Phenomenal! I did a couple of trials with Jennifer because i was indecisive about my wedding day look and she could not have been more patient & helpful. Every look we tried was so good I had a hard time deciding but in the end I trusted her to make me look & feel beautiful on my wedding day. She worked her magic on me & my bridesmaids.

Ok, I didn't even consider having a professional do my makeup until 2 weeks before my wedding. I had been in Corp PR and regularly go to black tie events so I figured I could handle my own makeup. Now I look back and am amazed that I almost made a very dumb decision! A friend's daughter got married the end of May and was telling me about all the details. Petra (a med spa owner with high standards) could not stop raving about Jennifer Lee while I was getting yet another facial to ensure that I had no blemishes on my "day". I saw the pictures from the wedding and loved that everyone looked fabulous, but not "overdone". Petra gave me Jen's card and I called her the next day. From the first phone conversation, Jennifer was so friendly, accommodating and I felt like I had known her forever. She did a trial of my make-up and I felt like a Princess! I was concerned about looking too made-up for the outdoor ceremony where people would see me in bright light up close, yet look great inside for sit-down dinner. I also have a tendency to appear pale in photos. Jen is a truly gifted make-up artist, who knows all the products on the market (she was fluent in the myriad of colors, brands I use as a red head) and listens to her clients. At the very last minute I asked Jen to do my soon-to-be 14 year old step-daughter and my 70-something Aunt from NYC, in addition to my own make-up. We all received countless compliments and exceedingly high praise. And on the practical side, our makeup lasted through the upper 80 degree weather until late in the evening. I would give Jen my highest recommendation and plan on using her again for all special occasions. Love her! Thank you Jen! -

Jennifer Lee's skills are phenomenal. I have never been a fan of the final results that I've received from professional make up artists. There have always been issues with color matching, and I ended up looking too old, too ashy, too cakey, too over the top, or just not like myself. Jennifer did a better job for my photo shoot than I have ever experienced before. Not only did she create a blend of colors that matched my skin perfectly, but my face looked so fresh, bright, and alive. Not only did she pick colors that complemented my skin tone, but she selected color schemes based on the outfits I planned to wear, the backdrops in front of which I intended to pose, and the website on which these photos would be displayed. She really did her homework, and the proof is in the pictures! She also listened to my concerns, anxieties, and my dos and don'ts and really took them into consideration. The result was a finished product that made everyone happy!
Equally as important, Jennifer is professional, responsive, timely, and accommodating. She cut a vacation short to accommodate my schedule and showed up bright and early with bells on. Even more importantly, each and every time I have worked with her, she has been pleasant, positive, warm, considerate, kind, thoughtful, and attentive. She is truly delightful to work with and be around! These attributes are particularly valuable during high stress events like photo shoots, weddings, and other special occasions. It should go without saying, I would recommend Phenomenal Faces to absolutely EVERYONE. Jennifer Lee provides all around top-notch service on every level. -

Jennifer Lee was phenomenal as her company's name indicates. She was flexible with her time and most importantly, she listened to my concerns and desires to create the look that I wanted for this special day. I was extremely happy. I received comments all evening long as to how perfect the makeup looked and they asked who was your makeup artist? I was professionally done but I did not look like a model getting prepared for a photo shoot, i.e., overdone. I would recommend Jennifer highly. -

Outstanding makeup by Jennifer--- our photos look fantastic, and we each got a ton of compliments. She knows her stuff! What can I say about Jennifer Lee! What a celebrity! I am a makeup artist so you have to believe me when you hire someone else to do what you do, theyhave to be the best! She is such an amazing artist. She did makeup for my whole wedding crew, which consists of women of every ethnicity and every age. What I find amazing is that she took each girls best features and enhanced them in such a way that when we are all done we complemented each other so well but still shined in our own gorgeous ways. Total bonus, she does fake lashes and air brushing.
Air brushing is worth it 100%... It lasts through tears, sweat and kisses! My eyes looked so big, she contoured my cheek bones. My photographer said it was photographing beautifully! That's the thing I think Jennifer really excells at. To my husband who hates a lot of makeup I looked amazing, and to my photographers, who love a lot, I looked great to. Jennifer will listen to what you want... DEFINITELY schedule your trial for a day you are going out! You want to show off for sure!
Honestly, this is one thing you don't think about but it is very important. You have that one day to feel like a princess and really enjoy it. Jennifer has such an amazing personality, everyone was having a ball with her. I was so nervous but Jennifer was so sweet, funny and professional. You want to surround yourself with great people on your wedding day and she is just that, truely great! She books up quickly FYI....

I'd never worked with a makeup artist in the past, so didn’t really know who/how to start a search. I feel extremely fortunate to have reached Jennifer Lee. She is a true artist---having perfected her talent and skills-- and a professional. She was very interested in the look I wanted for myself and the bridal party and worked accordingly. She was always punctual and well prepared! On the day of the wedding, she started at 7am for an early afternoon wedding. Each of us had her undivided attention. As she worked with the members of the bridal party, and others saw her work (my mom, my sister, close family guests) they asked for a sit in her chair! Without hesitation, she obliged. Her prices are competitive, but her work is outstanding. Each member of the bridal party was polished, professional, true to self and lovely. She worked to accentuate each young lady natural beauty. And me? Well, I'd never been so pleased to look at myself in a mirror. Excuse my lack of modesty---I was a beautiful bride---from brows, to foundation, to lashes, to lip gloss. It was ME, not a mannequin of me . That was important to me---I had to look like ME. I am a true fan! -

Jennifer came highly recommended from a friend who had used Jen for her wedding. I am very particular about my make-up so I tried Jen out for several occasions before finalizing her for my wedding. Each and every time, Jen was PHENOMENAL! My airbrush make-up for my wedding was flawless. I didn't want to take it off at the end of the night because it still looked fresh (even after hours of dancing!). All my bridesmaids loved their make-up as well!
If you want a professional and creative make-up artist, hire Jen! She has a true talent for what she does. Not to mention she's super nice so you'll have a lot of fun at your trial/wedding day!

Jennifer is amazing and talented. She is professional, punctual and has experience doing wedding make-up for different ethnicities. What I loved about Jennifer is that she listens to your wants, needs and concerns. She has a great personality which makes her easy to work with. Jennifer has a great eye and has the ability to bring out all your best features. One of my concerns was that I have hooded eyes. Because hooded eyes are droopy any eye make-up that is applied tends not to show. I trialed other make- up artists before Jennifer and they were not that great. They had a hard time making my eyes pop. Once I trialed Jennifer I knew instantly I wanted her to my wedding make-up. The technique she uses is what distinguishes her from other artists. Jennifer had recommended the air brush on me because we were doing pre-ceremony photos. I needed my make-up to last from mid day to midnight. The package cost more than the regular package but it was totally worth it. My make-up stayed on 12 hours straight and did not smudge on any guests when hugging them. I highly recommend Jennifer. You won’t regret it. -

Jennifer was amazing! We had 2 other makeup artists flake out on us and she came to the rescue! She had all the supplies, she showed up early- happy and was ready to get to work. I have twin girls and she was only to do thier makeup but after seeing how beautiful they looked I had her do mine. At 50 I had NEVER let anyone do my makeup! It was a leap of faith and I have to say, I felt beautiful and the makeup was BEYOND natural, we all glowed! We looked great. I can't wait to have an occassion for her to do it again! She listens to your "issues" she doesn't make you look like her or everyone else... she looks at you, and decides what is best for your your look. My daughters were 12 and I wanted them to look fresh and young and they did! Thank you Jennifer for making us look even better! I recommend her highly! OH and to top it off there was some weirdness with my checking account and she was so gracious and helpful as we worked it out! She is a pro and quite lovely! I had a great experience with Jennifer for my wedding. I do not live in Maryland and struggled to find a make-up artist. I finally decided to go with Jennifer after reading all of her great reviews. Not only is Jennifer a fantastic make-up artist, but she is fun to be around as well. My bridal party was comprised of various skin tones (dark skin tones to very fair skin tones) and Jennifer did an incredible job on each bridesmaid. Each of the ladies had a similar vintage look, with subtle changes that suited their own personalities. I opted for airbrush make-up and it was extremely light and lasted the whole night. I was very happy with my look and Jennifer was extremely patient as she did make-up for my 6 bridesmaids and 3 other family members. I could not have found a better make-up artist! I wish her luck with her own wedding and hope to utilize her skills again sometime in the future! -

I was recommended to Jennifer by one of my husband's coworkers. We didn't get Jennifer we got one of her assistant Miranda. Miranda was awesome! I don't wear makeup and so Miranda understood that I wanted a natural look for my wedding. After two session (one with airbrush - i was allergic to it and the other with standard makeup), Miranda made me look gorgeous on my wedding day. My mother, husband's mother and bridesmaid all loved their makeup as well. She was on time and bonded with my bridesmaids through sharing stories of their kids. Miranda was also very responsive via email as well. She even went out and picked up lip gloss for my bridesmaids because we couldn't find the color at our local Target. However, I did not get my complimentary beauty bag for touch ups.
The communication with Jennifer was sub-par. When we scheduled the first session with Miranda, we didn't know the fee and from reviewing Jennifer website we thought it was only $25. Wrong it was $125. After a few emails and phone calls we eventually worked everything out. -

Before meeting her, I had a negative experience with another makeup artist who disregarded my suggestions and gave me an "overdone" look that I didn't like. Jennifer, in contrast, gave me an extremely natural-looking look that enhanced my features, and was really knowledgeable about how to work with Asian eyes/faces (for myself and several of my bridesmaids) -- not something easily found in the area! My fianceé is looking for a makeup artist for our wedding. We heard about Jennifer from one of our friends. We clearly specified the date of our wedding to begin our conversation with her. No mention of any potential conflicts. After a brief back and forth (Jennifer was very responsivel) a trial was set up. My fianceé agreed to the trial fee of $125 and when services were complete, offered an additional tip of $25, for a grand total of $150.
After the money was exchanged, Jennifer asked, “ummm so what day was your wedding again and when do you need to be ready by?” – no alarm bells yet but isn’t it kinda weird to be asking this immediately AFTER a paid trial and already confirming availability to a potential client? A couple days later, Jennifer reveals that she has a conflict on our wedding date. She has another wedding that she is pre-committed to. Okay, well that sucks , but what can you do, she offered some workarounds but none of them were suitable.
I thought it would be fairly routine to get a refund. But that is not what happened. We asked for a refund. Initially she only offered $75 of the $150 already paid. I thought that was ridiculous and said a complete refund was in order, but she could keep the $25 tip for her time. She said the materials cost $50 lol. So her final offer was a $100 refund off our $150 total.
I have never had a service experience where the vendor was completely in the wrong and didn’t want to issue a refund. What a joke. Also keep in mind, my fiancée also drove to HER house and wasted a Friday Night on this. Of course mistakes happen, but she had an opportunity to make up for it and failed. Having to negotiate for a refund? Are you kidding me??!! Don’t waste your time with her. People like her are what makes wedding planning stressful.
