James and I had our wedding ceremony on September 2, 2023, at Glenview Mansion in Rockville, Maryland and Pete was truly an amazing and incredible photographer who captured so many precious moments and details of our special day! I often work with photographer Roy Cox out of Baltimore for my professional headshots, and Roy recommended Pete for us to consider as our wedding day photographer. Our wedding day was the first time that we met Pete, and his smile and energy are so positive and amazing! You can tell that he is passionate about what he does, and it shows! He worked so hard from morning to sunset to make sure we got the most stunning wedding photos, and we are beyond grateful! We couldn't be happier with our photos! Pete had an incredibly quick turnaround in sharing some of the first edited photos from the wedding. He even went above and beyond and helped fill in some gaps for us that day, like pinning the boutonnieres on the groom and groomsmen and helping to bustle my wedding gown! We highly recommend Pete to capture your wedding! -

Pete recently photographed my wedding and he was absolutely outstanding! He was not my original photographer, but day of my photographer got sick and Pete was her backup. I could not have been more impressed with a last minute change in photographers. Pete is so creative and had such a keen eye for potential photos. He noticed some lights across the way from our venue and had us take several photos outside with the lights. He gave us a sneak peak of that shot the next day and it was gorgeous! Pete was constantly moving and capturing every moment of our day and so many of our guests noticed the dedication to his art. I received so many compliments about him during the event. I highly recommend Pete to photograph your special day. -

Pete is just the best, we have been working with him for 6 years now. He photographed our engagement, wedding, and just recently our 5 year anniversary. He is willing to go out of the box with us, whether it is in graffiti alley, under bridges, magic bars, or old warehouses to get the unique shot that matches our vibe. Pete is an artist with a camera, plan and simple. His final product on his photos will absolutely blow you away. He was amazing to work with, even with having to postpone our wedding 3 times due to Covid, and he came through on the actual day and was masterful. He will dictate the entire day of shooting for what he thinks is best, and trust me, you will want him to make the decisions because he always picks amazing spots. Can’t wait to work with Pete again in the future. -

Pete was amazing! He totally understood our challenging situation (family drama) and did everything quickly and efficiently. He was also helpful in getting everyone organized and he went above and beyond. Our pictures came out better then we ever could have imagined! We are in love with our photos. Pete Redel is an amazing photographer! He was very responsive when I had questions or concerns. Our wedding photos are amazing and everyone keeps complimenting them! He made us feel comfortable and went above and beyond.
You want to hire the photographer that gets into a canoe and takes it out to the middle of a lake just for a picture! He also laid down in a field of buttercups! -

Planning a wedding during COVID is hard, which makes having any type of vendor who can be flexible that much more valuable.
Pete was so easy to work with from the planning stages, to the last-minute-COVID changes, to the big day. His flexibility was insanely helpful, especially when we had to postpone the reception at the last minute and have a smaller one in an entirely new location, as well as a change in location for wedding prep.
He's very creative and keeps his eye out for the perfect spots to have photos, even if they might not seem like much to you. Trust his judgment because the final result will be perfect. I also loved that he was receptive to our requests. For example, I really wanted to have some photos taken with my bridesmaids and our favorite books. He was not only willing, but he picked out the spot and took the time for multiple photos so that we could then choose the best ones.
Lastly, I have to talk about the final product: the pictures! They were amazing! I've been showing them off to people and got all the "oohs" and "ahhs" you want people to have when reflecting on your wedding day. My husband and I even got a little watery eyed at some of the moments we didn't realize Pete captured. The photos are well worth the wait, and are easily accessible online for download and sharing.
All in all, this man is a superhero! He can do anything, no matter the obstacle, and provide incredible photos you'll be looking at years from now and remember how amazing your day was.
We're definitely having Pete shoot our postponed reception as well, which will be our one year anniversary! -

We were lucky enough to have Pete photograph our very last-minute covid nuptials. His presence is incredibly warm and welcoming, and he makes you feel instantly comfortable in front of the lens. He gives you just enough direction during couple portraits to get the shot, but isn't too overbearing where it comes out looking stiff or posed. -

My wife and I were married during the craziness of the Covid pandemic. We decided to move forward pull the trigger because we had a couple of delays due to venue issues. Pete, along with a couple of other photographers, was referred to us by a venue we were considering. After reviewing each photographers websites, we decided on Pete because of the quality and vibrance of how photos. We met him at a trade show then later at his office. He has a wonderful personality and that is what sold us in the end. Willianne and I are very happy with the results from our photo shoot and we plan on using him again in the future. Highly recommended! -

Amazing Photographer!
Pete was the photographer for my wedding last November. My wife and I were so happy with him. Pete is very energetic and very personable; qualities that are important for a wedding photographer. We talked to him about a month before the wedding to make sure he had all the details right. On the day of the wedding, he promptly arrived to set up and capture our big day. Even though he works as a team of one, he was able to get shots of absolutely everything! He also brought lighting equipment which made all the difference in the photos and videos. Everyone in our wedding party, as well as our guests, fell in love with him as he put everyone at ease with his approach. He made the little ones (flower girl and ring bearer) laugh and made the photoshoot sessions fun for everyone. During the ceremony and reception, he was seen on the floor to get those low-level shots, and managed to somehow also to get photos from very high angles, all of which came out spectacular. Pete was on the move the whole day and all of our guests were impressed by his hard work and personality. He stayed the whole day with us (+12 hours of work). He delivered a preview (about 150 photos) to us about 2 months after the wedding and he delivered the complete album (about 1500 photos) to us by 3 months after our wedding. He used a platform to label the different events of the wedding and put each picture in its corresponding folder. We thought that was very thoughtful and organized. Working with Pete was very seamless. We love our wedding pictures! Pete did an amazing job with not only capturing but also editing them. We would definitely recommend Pete as a wedding photographer to anyone looking to capture the perfect memories from their big day. -

Memories for a Lifetime
To say that we cannot more highly recommend Pete Redel as your wedding photographer (or for any other event that you have) is an understatement. He is a pleasure to work with and his eye is incredible. We did an engagement shoot with him, used him for our wedding, and had a photo booth at the wedding. He blew us away with our engagement photos. He was able to catch moments between us, and help place us so that we looked natural and comfortable. For the actual wedding, Pete was everywhere - on the dance floor, at the bar, crouching down, leaning over - he caught so many candid moments throughout the evening. We haven't gotten our wedding photos back yet, but the previews he showed us throughout the night leave us comfortable that they will be as amazing as our engagement photos. Pete is an expert who can do portraits and candid. For us we wanted to capture the feel of the day, and Pete did this. -

I must first explain that I met Pete when he was a photographer through college. His work stood out among the rest from day one! I knew then when I got married that Pete was the photographer I was going to go with. It was important to me that my photographs were unique and showed who we were as a couple. I was first married in 2009 at a destination wedding in Texas. During this weeding Pete went out and purchased more lighting for our barn venue to get the perfect lighting. He also rented a sports car so we could have some fun light hearted pics! Sadly that marriage did not end the way we all had hoped however I still have so many favorite images from that day.
When I was pregnant and visiting home on the east coast I had called Pete last minute to see if he would take pictures to capture that special moment in time. Without hesitation he came up with a date and time. Throughout the years I have hired Pete to capture our ever growing and changing family. Everyone who comes to my home and sees our photographs fall in love and want the same type of gallery on their own walls. He is not only good at what he does but his personality really meshes well with my family as a whole. He gets that "magic shot" of all three of my kids... If you know what herding cats is like then you will understand how much of a challenge it can be.
Naturally when I was preparing for my second (and last) wedding it was a no-brainer. Pete sent me some of his new work that I had yet to see and I had sent him some ideas for shots I wanted to try on the big day. The communication was easy and flowed. I didn't feel like I needed to sit by my computer or phone all the time. Pete naturally showed up early and I was the frantic mess. I was running out of time and much still needed to be done. Instead of standing there with his hands in his pockets he asked what could he do to help and assured me not to worry. I was unaware of this but apparently he was seen ironing the men's dress shirts, fixing ties, putting on boutonnieres, and even carrying food trays out to the tables. It really is an understatement to say he is the best. He went above and beyond in ways that are unimaginable all just to make sure the bride was calm.
During the event Pete was not scared to move around, I often refer to him as the spider monkey. Every time he gets that perfect moment and lighting and angle that many fail to get. So many of my guests came up to me asking about Pete, they loved his charisma and attitude towards the job. They said how much they enjoyed meeting him and how well he interacted with guests of all ages especially the kids. I had one special request that may not be so out of the ordinary these days. I wanted a family picture with our cat. Pete found a quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle and made sure he captured the love for our furry baby.
The day came and went... however when I received my images I was immediately thrown back into all the feels. The joy, love, and laughter that the day brought me was exactly what was shown in every image. Before our pictures were finished I asked Pete if he could send me a special one with my grandmother in it to give to her as a gift. Pete took the time to find the picture in the 5k+ that he took and edited it to perfection! We were invited over for a special presentation of our pictures. He included our kids and parents even though we wanted to keep it just us. He picked the most perfect music and made a slide show that had me holding back the tears (of joy).
I cant imagine picking anyone else at this point. The actual work of art that Pete creates is indescribably excellent. He had edits every single image instead of sending them out to a company like many other photographers do. He asked us what we wanted special and delivered that and more. There has not been a time where I have not told a bride about Pete. I will continue to use him as our photographer for all our future events! -

Pete is such a great photographer! Extremely professional and produces amazing high quality photos! He was quick to respond to all our questions (we had a lot) prior to our wedding day. During the wedding day he was always so kind, friendly to be around and helpful.
The thing that really amazed us is how he went above and beyond making sure to get the perfect photos. We were amazed at how he was able to get such great photos of our parents who tend to shy away from the camera! We love the couple photos he took and the artistry. His vision, his willingness to try new creative shots and get dirty (literally laying in the wet grass to get the perfect photo on my wedding day) as well as his overall friendly demeanor make him worth the investment. Every step of the way Pete was amazing. He knew our venue inside & out, advised us on the flow of the wedding--beyond the call of anything photography-related, he just was helpful and wanted us to have the best wedding! He captured everything from preparation to the last drunken dance moves, and then some. The photo booth was a blast--everyone had a good time and pulled on some props (even the grandparents)!
Once we got the images back, though, you can see where Pete really shines. The colors, the angles, he's truly an artist, and saw things I couldn't have imagined to put together. Our pictures are unique and one-of-a-kind, not just a quick memory of what happened. Best place you can spend your money for your wedding, bar none. -

Chris Sent on 10/14/2019"Extreme" Pete will blow every single other photographer out of the water. He is the real deal and a true professional. We could not be happier!
Pete was obviously our photographer when my wife and I got married almost one year ago (11/10/18). Over the course of this past year, I have literally spent hours trying to come up with how exactly to provide an accurate, thorough, and detailed review for what Pete did for us that day. A review that Pete truely deserves. And to be quite honest, it's impossible. I honestly can not put into words how incredible this guy is. You have to experience Pete in person to understand what I mean, however this is long overdue so I am going to do my best to describe our photographer, who every single person in attendance now knows by the name "Extreme Pete" (possibly with several '!!!' in there somewhere)
First of all, it is important to mention that for every single important moment, planned and unplanned, moments that we would have never thought would be important or were even going to happen, Pete was there somehow capturing it from 5 different angles using 3 lenses all at the same time. And he wasn’t just randomly snapping shots hoping they would turn out. At times, he seemed a bit “extreme” to us, and on many occasions throughout the day we said to each other softly, “what in the world is he doing now???” But rolled with it and once we saw the photos, it was clear that he is a creative genius behind the camera and every single thing he did was intentional, and he knew exactly what he was doing.
Not a single moment was missed throughout the entire night. Of course, he was there for all the typical moments, first dance, cake cutting, etc. but he was also there for moments like when the DJ announced shocked my bride by announcing that she was about to go crowd surfing off of a PA speaker, in her dress. And she did it. Don’t believe me? I wouldn’t either, but as he slid through the crowd like he was stealing home plate, Pete perfectly positioned himself and his magical touch perfectly captured proof as the entire situation was unfolding. The shock on her face as the DJ made the announcement and the perfect series of shots following immediately after are absolutely priceless. I have uploaded them to his gallery to see for yourself!
Extreme Pete is at it again. I remember him laying down flat on his stomach in the woods, on the freezing November ground, and poking his head and camera through a pile of leaves while using one hand to snap the pictures and the other to toss leaves up and in front of the lens. Who does that?! Pete does! And the shot came out beautiful. Every single shot came out beautiful. Pete went above and beyond over and over again to make sure that we were going to be thrilled with the final product and we could not be happier.
All night long, and still to this day there are three comments every single person makes to us; “you looked so beautiful” (mostly directed towards me, sometimes my wife…. Kidding), “we had so much fun” and like clockwork, “your photographer was incredible! Extreme Pete!”
If you are on the fence about hiring Pete for your wedding, do it. He is on another level and you will not be disappointed. As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, there is no way for me to put in writing the review that Pete deserves for the amazing work that he does. He is a truly talented professional that you will LOVE working with who delivers an absolute premium product worth every single penny, and more. We could not be happier with him, and the final photos still blow us away every time we look at them!

Wedding photographer
Pete captures my engagement photos and my wedding photos. We were extremely overwhelmed with joy seeing the pictures he took. He was able to capture out special day with such wonderful views. We would not have chosen anyone other than Pete. He is so great with the kids and very professional. He was such a good time to have as a part of our wedding. We couldn’t be more pleased with the service and pictures he provided. We will treasure them forever. -

Where to even begin... we hired Pete as our destination photographer and oh my Lord are we thankful we did. I was a photographer for a decade and did a few weddings here and there and so I was SUPER picky and did my research for over a year. I truly cannot fathom how he did it all and got all the angles and shots that he did. I cannot tell you how annoying I can be (haha) and I have nothing negative to say about Pete. We flew him out and took care of his stay and hired him for the weekend (rehearsal, wedding day, day after shoot). All our parents each commented on how he was like the energizer bunny or a “photo ninja” because he was everywhere and yet you never noticed him in the way. He got everything and then some and we couldn’t be happier. He went out of his way to scout the area and find the best spots and best lighting. I’ve also done work in front of the camera and I love how encouraging and vocal he was with both of us. He really made it fun and we never ever felt like we were posing awkwardly in front of a camera. We were just hanging out and in love and he made us look like royalty. Cannot recommend him enough and was soooo pleased with how fast we got our photos back!!! Such an incredible photographer- he was even the most expensive vendor at our wedding and I’m here to tell you, worth it. Stop looking. Seriously. -

Pete did such an amazing job capturing every moment of our wedding. We received our pictures back in know time! He made the most out of our wedding and made sure to capture every moment. He even came up with photo ideas that we hadn't even thought of prior to our wedding so we have beautiful pictures from them. We even received several sneak peek photos quickly 2 days after our wedding and we do not mind waiting for the rest. He was also very communicative to us and even gave us his personal number to text and call him when needed. I can't stress enough how much we loved him! He even made an effort to get to know our bridal party and talk to them and made their personalities shine through in each photo. I knew from the moment i got engaged that i wanted Pete as my photographer. No one else can compare. Because his work is so amazing he is very busy which sometimes can delay responses but in the end it is about having amazing pictures from your wedding. He also has the Photobooth option/setup which was amazing and fun. everyone loved their pictures and the props to use. -

I booked Pete after I saw him photograph a friend’s wedding. I loved his energy and the photos he captured were incredible. It was several years later that we tied the knot ourselves, and perhaps it was because I was in a different position (bride, no longer guest of wedding), but he is the biggest regret of my wedding day.
When I initially inquired for booking, his communication was excellent. He called me within an hour of submitting the inquiry form online. I finalized booking a year prior to my October wedding for his package including 2 photographers. As we got closer, I confirmed that he needed a hotel room for his assistant and himself due to the travel (as per contract). I booked the hotel and sent him the confirmation in March. Time goes by and we get into the final stages of coordinating and my amazing planner begins sending e-mails confirming timing, schedules, etc. No issues…
Until the day of the wedding, he shows up—just himself. I asked him if he had trouble checking in because other rooms that we had paid for had requested credit cards and then charged the guest rather than me. He didn’t even realize he had a room—that I had now paid for and could not get a refund. He didn’t have another photographer because the other guy just got a new job. There was no communication to me or my planner about this. He assured me everything would be fine and he would get the shots I wanted. Mind you, I had a very short, simple list of photos; however, there were a couple situations which really needed the 2 photographers I had contracted for. One in particular was a request to photograph my mother and my mother-in-law’s reactions to our first dance because we surprised everyone with a choreographed routine. I told him that I really wanted those photos and I wanted his focus to be there initially because we hired a videographer to capture the dance so there was no need for him to worry about capturing us right away. As I’m sure you can guess, he didn’t capture the shots. He actually went back to our parents later and asked them to pretend they were watching us and took photos, but it just wasn’t the same. When I mentioned this to him, his excuse was that he was caught up in the moment.
His pants tore and I had to ask a friend to loan him a pair for the day. I had to pull him away from taking photos of our band to get photos of our families. He was unhappy with me because I threw my bouquet before he was ready (actually told me this during our reception). When the night was over, he ended up staying at the hotel bar with some of the bridal party until the wee hours of the morning anyway.
After the wedding, he told us he would get us some teaser photos within a couple weeks which turned into over a month of e-mails and promises of this day or that day. We did get all of our photos eventually.
Against my better judgement, I decided to get an album made. I told him that I was in no rush, but he assured me that there was no better time and that he would have a draft for me within 2 weeks. His communication became excellent again—texting me multiple times a day because he wanted the deposit for it (which he actually told me would help him to do something with his website). I was not surprised when his communication diminished following his receipt of the deposit. It has now been 8 months since we began the process of creating the album. I requested a cover change because I didn’t like the one he used, but then he told me he got new materials, never sent me a link or any example (as he had of the prior options) and I just approved it as it was to get things done with. His practice of setting a timeframe and then completely disregarding it is infuriating. It would be far less frustrating if he would just not give projected deadlines and be vague regarding turnover; however, he repeatedly gave a timeframe and then went well past it. I had been very patient with him and would give him additional time beyond his projected “deadline” before contacting him. He told me 2 weeks and I gave him a month before reaching out. He told me his girlfriend’s dog died and he spent all that time going through photos for her. He even “accidentally” sent me a photo of the dog he said was meant to go to her after I expressed my frustration with him. I eventually started taking my time to respond to him. I admit that it took me a month to make the decision to just accept the cover I didn’t love and just approve the album. It has since been over a month since it was approved and he has not even acknowledged that it was approved or responded to my email or text.
I was truly so excited to have Pete photograph our wedding. He was the one vendor aside from my planner that I knew I wanted prior to even being engaged! I read reviews and chose to ignore them because I had seen him in action and decided that I knew better. Unfortunately, I did not. I truly wish I had trusted the reviews and booked someone else. He was a very expensive mistake.
If all you want are great candid photos of your day, then Pete is your guy. He does take beautiful photos of what he wants to. -
