Meeting Jay was one of the best experiences for a bride to be. Not only does his professional manner come through in every photo but his overal friendly nature puts you at ease for those like me (who think they aren't photogenic, lol). My pre-bridal shoot was entertaining and professional. My wedding photos ...all I can say is WOW!. I am thorughly pleased because not only was his prices reasonable but Jay is very flexible to accomadate your schedule as well. Much gratitude from me and Deontae to perfectPictureThat!! -

I have had the pleasure to shot photography on location in China Town NW DC with Jay. Jay was very professional in shooting along side the Chinese parade event. His pictures had very creative view points and captured the essence of the day. Jay also shared his professional touched to capturing great pictured with guidance on camera setting/lighting. I recommend Jay as a professional photography business man. -

Mr. Sykes did a wonderful job taking a group photo of my church and then individual and family photos. I usually do not like having my picture taken, but he worked so well with everyone, that I wanted to get in on it, too!! As a result, I now have some nicely done, professional photos. I would recommend his high-quality services. -

Avoid this photographer at all costs! Jay photographed our event last year and the pictures were great. That's why we hired him again this year. However, the photos we got back this time were terrible. The lighting was bad, the composition was bad, and some were even out of focus or overexposed. When I approached Jay about this, he made all kinds of excuses about how it was a poorly lit room and he didn't have adequate space to work. According to him, the pictures are fine. However, everyone I have showed them to finds in unbelievable that a "professional" photographer would deliver such work to a customer. He didn't even bother to crop or color correct them. I asked for a refund, but again he dug his heels in and said he gave me the best pictures he could given the room conditions. He even said our critical comments were "rude". So very unprofessional.
These are the comments I received from others who saw the photos:
"I'm so sorry. I can't believe the back drop pics are not even centered!"
"Wow, he really dropped the ball. A lot of these could be so much better with a little cropping, but it's pretty unbelievable how badly composed these are. I'm so sorry, Jason. What a disappointment."
"Pretty bad. It is so unfortunate that we leave our memories in someone else's hands and they blow it...and they get paid for it!! Just isn't right."
"Did he even look in the lens when he took them? I'm so sorry"
After my repeated complaints, Jay offered to re-edit the pictures, but has not delivered any edits as of 5 months later. When he found a negative review I posted on another site, he sent me a hostile email calling me a b***h and other choice words and rescinded his offer to make the edits. (Odds are I was never going to see those anyway).
If you want to preserve your memories, look elsewhere for a photographer. Jay at perfectPictureThat is not your guy. -
