Hire them!
Shani and Erika did hair and makeup for my wedding and I cannot thank them enough for being so amazing. The experience was professional, fun and we all looked stunning. Shai did my bridal hair and makeup and I could not be more happy with the job she did. Everything stayed PERFECT for the entire night. It was an amazing experience and I'm not looking for reasons to get fancied so I can work with them again. -

I am a wedding planner and venue owner so I had pretty high standards when it came to planning my wedding. Shani did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos and I instantly knew I had to hire her for my wedding. She was both great in the lead up and on the day of the wedding. I had so much fun at the trial and she was always responsive in answering my questions and giving me skin and hair care tips leading up to the wedding date. On my date her and her team were great. All of my bridesmaids absolutely loved their hair and makeup, they all felt naturally gorgeous. The makeup didn't cover them up it it just made them look stunning but still like themselves! Her team also had a great calming presence which as a planner is definitely what you want the morning of your wedding. They even did some grooming on my husband and his attendants and covered up an awful sunburn he had gotten the day before. I hired her to stay on for touchups which was also so worth it as the photos etc were a whirlwind and I know I will look great and fresh in all of them haha. Thank you again for everything Shani and team!! -

Shani is a dream! I have a very low maintenance day-to-day make-up and hair routine (I do not wear make-up most days, and I wear my hair down or in a topknot bun everyday), so I was pretty intimidated by getting all glammed up for my wedding day. Shani made the whole process easy, seamless, and so much less intimidating than I was making it out to be! She helped take my vision for myself on my wedding day (natural-looking with little pops of color for my makeup and a loose, boho updo for my hair), and she executed the whole thing flawlessly. She also gave me a few good skincare tips during our run-through that helped me up my anti-aging game.
On top of that, she was such a joy and an easy presence to be with on the morning of my big day. I did not want to be around someone who was easily flustered or high maintenance on such an important morning, and I think Shani was the perfect blend of comforting, professional, and fun to be around!
Whether it's for your wedding day, your engagement photos, or another event where you need hair and makeup, I highly recommend Shani Gailbreath as your first call!! -

It was important to me on my wedding day to not only love the makeup being done by my makeup artist, but to also feel comfortable and enjoy being around this person who would be spending most of the day with me and my bridal party. Shani was fantastic to work with and completely understood my vision for my bridal makeup. She is a master of enhancing natural beauty which is exactly what my bridesmaids and I were looking for! Our makeup lasted all day (through tears and all)! I highly recommend giving Shani a call!!Canvas + Coif's reply:

Katie Sent on 10/06/2017I do not have enough time to write a review that would describe the experience I had with Shani. Not only is she amazing at makeup but she makes you feel so comfortable and just happy. She makes it feel like your girlfriend is just hanging out with you doing your makeup but after you look way more amazing that if it was your friend. After the wedding I spoke with all my bridesmaids and asked them about their favorite thing... they all said their favorite part of the wedding was how amazing their cheek bones looked. She was so accommodating and thoughtful. My original hair and makeup artist told me a month before the wedding that she would not be able to help me... in comes Shani to the rescue. If I had to do my wedding over, you better bet I would be hiring her again. -

Shani has done my hair and makeup multiple times and each time I have come out looking flawless. I'm in awe of her skill. She doesn't hesitate, she just creates. She has taught me so much along the way so that I can do a better job with my everyday makeup! But I'll always call Shani when I need that glam. I'm a wedding planner and for my clients, she has proved her skill in working with women of color. I won't hesitate to recommend her to any and all brides. -
