The Best Cake

One of the best cakes we have ever eaten. (Strawberry layers and vanilla almond layers) So moist and flavorful! Enjoyed our cake tasting day, but it was even better for the actual wedding! Everyone loved it!

Amazing!

Our wedding cakes were so BEAUTIFUL and tasted AMAZING! We had a three tier almond bread cake with two fillings, as well as a grooms layered cookie cake and we have had so many compliments on them! Not only were the cakes so delicious but the service was even better! Pennington’s cakes always took our calls and made the process so easy and fun! We are beyond thankful and so happy with how everything turned out! Thank you all so much!

Absolutely Amazing

Pennington Cakes went above and beyond our expectations. They delivered a stunning cake that tasted absolutely amazing. The owner was extremely flexible and customized our cake exactly the way we wanted it. We also ordered sugar cookies from them that were a major hit with all of our guests. As an added bonus they are extremely affordable. Highly recommend for all your dessert needs. You won’t be disappointed!

Simply gorgeous

The wedding cake and cookies at my daughter’s wedding were beautiful and delicious. The guests are still raving about them. I highly recommend this bakery.

Pennington's Cakes baked two fabulous cakes for our daughter's wedding. Pennington's made the cakes perfectly to our specifications and both cakes were beautiful, moist, and delicious! The cakes were delivered and set up just like we wanted! We highly recommend using them for your wedding!

Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Pennington! My guests raved about how tasty it was, and we overheard lots of Mmmms!

We ordered chocolate with raspberry filling. Sometimes there’s not enough filling, but this was the Perfect filling to cake ratio! So moist - and the presentation was exactly what I’d asked for! So happy with it

Best cake ever, exceeded my expectation!!

My wedding cake was everything I could want and more! Not only was it beautiful and exactly how I imagine but it was the best cake I have ever tasted!!! My wedding was over three months ago and people still talk about how amazing the flavors of our cake were. Steve was a pleasure to work with and he always took time out of this day to answer any of my questions and concerns. I HIGHLY recommend Pennington’s to every bride and groom. The prices are unbeatable.

Beautiful and Delicious Wedding Cake!

Pennington’s Cakes was outstanding and profesional to work with in creating the exact Wedding Cake my daughter and son-in-law wanted for their Big Day in September of 2019. The cake was beautiful, moist, fresh, and so delicious! They were right on time for set-up and discreet with all the other happenings taking place at the same time. I would Most definitely and highly recommend them to anyone considering a professional cake for a Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday, Retirement, Holiday, or event party. Pennington’s Cakes are a great value for the price and oh so delicious!

Delicious and Easy

We used Pennington for our wedding cake and it was absolutely amazing! They were so easy to work with and we received so many compliments on the cake. We went in for 1 easy meeting with them where we described what we wanted for our cake, we tasted and picked our flavors and that was it! They coordinated the rest with our venue and we couldn't have been happier with how it turned out visually and the cake was DELICIOUS! Thank You so much Stephen, Sara, and Wendi!

Best decision for cakes!!!!

Pennington’s was a fantastic choice for my husband and I for our wedding! They were very friendly and responsive to all of our questions in person and through email making working with them a breeze. Pennington’s worked with my gluten allergy at a very affordable rate and incredibly tasty cakes (and cupcakes) with fresh berries!!!! We shopped around a lot for cakes through San Antonio, New Braunfels, and San Marcos area. They were the best by far in both price and quality!!!! Best choice to top off an absolutely perfect day!!

Excellent cake vendor!

We actually booked Pennington’s cakes for our October wedding this year without even trying it beforehand. We don’t live locally and got married in Lockhart so it was hard to find the time for us to both try it. Based on other reviews we booked it and were incredibly pleased. The cake tasted amazing and the people at the shop were so friendly and easy to deal with. Would definitely recommend them for cakes

My cakes were beautiful!

Pennington’s did two cakes for my wedding and they both turned out awesome. Anything you can imagine or honestly pull off Pinterest Stephen and his team can pull it off. We did a simple wedding and Star Wars groom’s cake. First off they looked amazing but then they tasted even better! I’m looking forward to eating the top tier of my wedding cake next year already. Great job Pennington’s!

So yummy and gorgeous!

I was so happy to book Pennington because they did my parents wedding cake 37 years ago! We did a deconstructed cake with copper drip and copper paint and it was absolutely gorgeous. I had several people say that it looked like something out of a magazine! We had half white cake with raspberry filling and the other half was white cake with pineapple filling and it was delicious. I definitely recommend Pennington's.

Wonderful Service! Amazing taste!

Stephen was great from the beginning to end! Scheduling the tasting was simple and convenient and they even prepared a sampling for my children. Stephen was flexible with changes throughout the entire process and did everything with a smile. The day of delivery went smoothly and even though they forgot the stand (I didn’t even notice) everything was beautiful and perfect! And the taste? Oh wow!!!! We chose the pineapple and the chocolate ganache and both were to die for! So delicious and fresh! Thanks again Penington’s! I couldn’t have asked for anything better!

We had a fabulous experience with Pennington’s! We ordered 6 cakes total and everyone LOVED them. In fact, we had none leftover! They captured just what we wanted as far as the design and overall look of the cakes. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for wedding cakes out there!

BEST tasting cakes EVER & gorgeously designed!!

I'm absolutely blown away by the taste and design of their cakes! They couldn't have been better to work with - Stephen and team are AMAZING! We told them exactly what we wanted for both cakes, and they blew us away! We found them, but our caterer confirmed we made the right choice (kept insisting she's tasted all & they're the best). Then, other vendors & ALL the guests were asking where we got our cakes! We are thrilled to this day to have used them - best wedding cakes ever! Thank you so much!

Our cakes were fantastic! They were as we envisioned and discussed. Stephen was wonderful to work with and was super flexible with our changes and responsive to questions. There was only one small issue that I noticed and that is that the fondant was buckling on the back of one of our cakes. I am not sure what was happening, but luckily they were able to put that to the back, therefore, it wasn't an issue. Perhaps it was a bit too humid for the cakes (it was quite humid even with the cakes inside). Overall, we had a fantastic experience.

The cakes were also all delicious. The tiered cake was strawberry with vanilla buttercream, one side cake was chocolate with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream, and the third was white cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream. The chocolate was by far the favorite and disappeared quickly. All three were moist, perfectly baked, and delicious.

I highly recommend Pennington's Cakes and will be back for future events!

They did an beautiful job with our wedding cake! My MIL had surprised with getting our cake, and I couldn't have been happier! We had gotten Almond cake with Amaretto frosting, and it was delicious. I am definitely looking forward to eating it again for our first anniversary!

I could speak for days about my experience with Pennington's. Just wonderful! You have come to the right place. I booked them for my wedding this past June and worked directly with Stephen. He was amazing! There was one day I stopped by unannounced and he wasn't in, but one of his employees helped me with no issues at all.

Like most bride-to-be's, I tried several different cake places, but this was the most affordable option plus amazing quality cakes and excellent service. I didn't think you could tell the difference in good quality cakes until I went cake tasting for my wedding and I soon learned the difference!

Stephen was very thorough from day one and was open to any and all suggestions I had. As our wedding day got closer, I had already paid off the cakes but realized that the serving amounts were much larger than my expected guest count, as that amount changed from my original anticipated amount. Well not only did Pennington's adjust our order to accommodate our new count, but were quick to refund what they owed us.

The quality of cake can be seen in the pictures (they were even better in person) and the taste was talked about for days with my family and friends. We had two cakes for our wedding with about 4 or 5 different flavors because all the cake was so good we couldn't narrow it down! Thank you Pennington's for being so incredible. We will be back!

Pennington Cakes was the only must have on my list. And it really was not negotiable! The flavour and presentation was everything I had hoped for and more. LOVE their cakes. Don't know how I am going to get one for my anniversary as I am on the other side of the world... might have to air freight it!

Penningtons did an amazing job on our cake! They went through the tasting with us and showed pictures to help guide me to my perfect cake. On the day of our wedding, they were swamped with college graduation but they still showed up on time and gave us great service. They decorated our cake with fresh flowers, which were provided by our florist making it look gorgeous. Our cake was a white with raspberry filling and was delicious! I'm so happy we chose them.

Pennington Cakes baked our Bride and Groom's cake for our wedding. They did a fantastic job. The cakes were super moist, EVERYONE was wondering who baked them. My brides cake was a 4 tier cake, so we had red velvet, white, and chocolate, (top tier for anniversary cake). Groom's cake was yellow cake with chocolate ganache- may sound simple but the flavor was amazing! Also, they were reasonable. Our wedding was in Austin and we checked out many vendors in the Austin area, yet Pennington Cakes in San Marcos topped all the bakeries in Austin- price and just delicious, moist cakes! Most definitely recommend them.

Our wedding cakes were amazing, not only were they beautiful but extremely delicious! My cake was a gorgeous 5 tier with beautiful mermaid scales going up the cake husband wanted his cake to be a Yeti ice chest, they delivered! Not only did it look exactly like a yeti ice chest, but they added fake ice cubes and a red fish coming out of the cooler. His cake was a huge hit at our wedding. Great friendly service with beautiful and great tasting product! My family has been using them for years and will continue to!

We loved our cake! Since we live in Boston, we were unable to come in for a cake tasting before choosing Pennington's for our wedding. However, we hired them based on all of their amazing reviews, and they were definitely right! After a 20-minute phone consultation with Steven, we placed our order. The cake was absolutely DELICIOUS and looked just like I imagined it would! Our wedding coordinator saved the top tier for us to enjoy on our anniversary, but the cake was honestly so good that we couldn't wait. We invited a few friends back to our hotel and polished off every last crumb the same night! Oops! ;) Thank you for your beautiful and yummy work!

It was Thursday 12/17/15 and I realized I forgot a crucial part of my wedding...the CAKE!!! I heard about Pennington's Cakes through wedding wire and saw all the good reviews so I called them Thursday afternoon. Even though it was very short notice I called and was transferred to Stephen. He was extremely helpful knowing I was getting married in less than one week. I didn't go to any consultations or taste their cakes. I got off their Facebook website and asked if I could get it exactly like that and when they delivered it, it was even prettier than the one I saw. When it was time to cut the cake I was extremely excited because I couldn't wait to taste it. When I had the first taste it was amazingly delicious!! The top part of the cake may not even make it for my husband's and I one year anniversary because it was that good!! I would definitely recommend Pennington's Cakes to anyone who is having an event or even just to satisfy their sweet tooth. I live four hours away from San Marcos and I will definitely drive the four hours to get another taste of their cakes!!!

Pennington’s was recommended by a close family friend who used them for their own wedding. Stephen, the owner, did a tasting with us and was very helpful. My fiancé and I aren’t into anything super sweet and to our pleasant surprise, their sugar-free icing was exactly what we were looking for! They were easy to work with, had delicious cake and were very reasonably priced. I changed my mind on a couple of things during the planning process and they were very easy to communicate with. I showed them what look I was going for and left it up to them and my flower girl to create my cake. I had complete faith that they would do an amazing job, which made it easier for me to relax on the day of the wedding, which was invaluable. I am so happy I used them for my wedding! Kind people and a fantastic product!

I decided to go with pennington's cakes after all the great reviews I have read about them and their services. We met with Stephen for a tasting and I can't even begin to describe how amazing all of the flavors are they offer. We decided to go with Italian creme and they were able to work with me on the cake design I found on pinterest I wanted. Also, my fiance is a game warden and they are able to make camo cupcakes for his grooms cake!
They were so easy to work with and change my order as I have needed so far. I can't wait to taste everything and see how it all turns out.

We used Pennington's for a Graduation cake and they were awesome! We selected a design from their photos, made some custom requests, and asked for delivery to the restaurant where we had the graduation party. They were wonderful to work with over the phone (we were in another city), the cake was delivered as promised, looked exactly as we had requested, and I can honestly say this was the best cake I have ever tasted!!! Everyone raved about it! It was fresh, moist, beautiful and delicious! I would highly recommend them as a wedding caterer!

I only had to visit one vendor, Pennington's Cakes, to find the right baker. Pennington's took the time to create a special spiced apple cake for us to try. Of course, this required a second visit to the bakery - we weren't complaining! - where we tried not one but THREE new apple-spice creations. They were all delicious! I have never had a bad experience with Pennington's. Although the price listed here may be frightening, it was absolutely reasonable for what we were asking. The cake and cupcakes were beautiful. Thank you Pennington's for a fantastic and stress-free experience.

Working with Stephen was such a pleasure. He was very quick to respond to emails and questions. Pennington cakes was highly recommended by two family friends that have used them on many occasions and I felt very confident that the cakes would be perfect. I was extremely happy and satisfied, the cakes were EXACTLY what I had envisioned, tasted amazing, and the prices were VERY reasonable. I couldn't be happier with my decision to use Pennington Cakes for our wedding!

They were super easy to work with, very nice and helpful. They were patient with me and my husband picking out our cakes (we had no idea what we wanted). I had to call and change the size of the cakes twice, which they were fine with. They called the week of the wedding to make sure everything was still going as planned and delivered the cakes when they said they would and they both turned out perfect. I forgot to return my cake stand to them the following week, they called me that next week asking about it, and did not charge me for it, even though I had signed a paper saying I would be charged if I did not return it by a certain date. My mom and mother-in-law have both used them now. Would definitely recommend them!

This company was very professional and helpful during the whole process. They were good about staying in contact with me and gave me friendly reminders about bill pay dates but never hounded me. The cakes were amazing! When we went to the cake testing, the options were all so delicious that we had trouble deciding. We had a bridal cake and a groom cake. Both looked beautiful and tasted great. We had three flavors; strawberry swirl (my favorite) raspberry filled white cake and a chocolate cake. All the guest enjoyed it and all complimented the great taste. I would definitely recommend Pennington Cakes!

My wedding is in Austin and the prices there were ridiculous. Thankfully Pennington's cakes exists. They delivered to Austin with no problem, and my cake was beautiful! Exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

Also, just FYI, my wedding was a lady to a lady and I felt very comfortable there and they didn't bat an eye. Very professional and accepting.

I contacted Pennington's Cakes about three weeks before my wedding. That's when I learned that people order their wedding cakes months and months in advance and that they go in for consultations to make informed decisions. Three weeks before my wedding, I had no time left to drive to San Marcos for a consultation, but Mr. Stephen made the time to have my consultation over the phone. I emailed him a Pinterest picture of the wedding cake I wanted, I mailed him actual ribbons matching my wedding theme and ...voila! I had exactly the cake I wanted arrive punctually on the day of my wedding. To top it off, they had the best prices I could find in the San Marcos area. Clearly, they know what they're doing. I highly recommend their services.

30 years ago when my parents got married, they had Pennington's do their cake. They also did our cake for our wedding a few months ago and the cake was amazing. It was sooooo good that there wasn't any left except for the top of the cake which we kept. I'm not really a cake person, but their cakes were absolutely fantastic and I have recommended them to friends who are getting married.

They were very sweet and professional from the beginning. I went to one other bakery and although it was delicious the prices ranged so much. Penningtons had incredibly reasonable prices and superior service. The cakes were a big hit and we were very happy we went with them.

THE cakes were beautiful and delicious! We had a German choc grooms cake decorated with chic dipped strawberries; The brides cake was the white cake with layers filled alternately raspberry and lemon hmmm.

Their website is so easy to navigate and it was so convenient to set up a tasting. The only thing that was difficult was choosing which cake to go with because they were all delicious! I gave them a picture of what I wanted the design to be and they by far exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful and tasted so good, it completed my wedding! Thank you so much!

All I have to say is that they did a very amazing job on my wedding cake. I loved everything about it. It was colorful and it was way more than what I expected it to look at. It was worth every penny! Everyone that talked with at the wedding just loved it and just giving me compliments. I will definitely be going back to get cakes from them. Especially since everyone that the cake was so delicious that they accidentally cut into our top tier and I was hoping to save that for our first year anniversary. I'm going to have to go back and re-order my top tier!

Absolutely LOVED Pennington's Cakes! My husband and I recently just got married in March and couldn't have been more happier with Pennington's! The cake was so delicious, my cake was strawberry swirl and my husbands was chocolate. We also had a desert table with mini cheese cakes, cake pops and cookies, and everything was delicious! All I can say is "WOW"!!! My daughter had not one, but a dozen different cakes for her wedding. She wanted to have an old fashioned church social cake bar, and Pennington's made it happen. She asked for cakes that were not part of their normal inventory -- no problem. And each and every one of them was delicious!! Our guests were sampling two, three, four and more.....and gushing about how moist and tasty all of the cakes were. We had ordered enough cake to serve about 240, about 75 more than we expected and by the end of the evening, nearly all of the cake was gone! We adjusted the quantity, size and flavors of the cakes right up until the wedding and Pennington's was great to work with. They put the finishing touches on the cakes on site and everything looked wonderful. Best cakes ever, you can be sure we'll be using them for future events.

The wedding cake was beautiful and delicious!!! Our groom's cake was a Bulldog and it is the best groom's cake I've ever seen, and not just because it was ours!!! It looked so real and precious!!! The staff was friendly and the cakes were well priced. We went to several other bakeries to try them out as well, but Pennington's was the best bang for the buck!

Love this place. The staff know how to treat their customers and properly take care of their cakes. My wedding cakes were divine. They were creative with the different colors, textures, and styles.

I absolutely LOVED my cakes! I was extremely pleased with my cake vendor and have gotten SO many compliments about the cake tasting FABULOUS. I even had a friend at the wedding choose to have her cakes for her wedding done at the same place. I changed my order SO many times and the owner was extremely helpful in helping me decide what I needed while also making the cake gorgeous. I didn't really like the figures on my grooms cake, but they did a great job for making them themselves! The cake arrived at the perfect time and everything about it was wonderful! Thank you!

Our cakes turned out great and were very moist! I got lots of comments and great compliments on how great they looked and tasted. Stephen was very helpful through the whole process and they were very reasonable in price for the amount of cake that we got. I would definitely recommend them for any bride who is looking for an affordable, great bakery!!

I absolutely loved the cakes! They were open to any and every idea I had and made sure everything was exactly the way I wanted and they looked just like I wanted them too and they tasted amazing there was hardly any left I know that is usually a good thing but I couldn't help but want some the next day! :)

Pennington’s Cakes were absolutely wonderful! Both the bride and grooms cakes were exactly what we envisioned and we mouthwatering. I cannot share one single complaint because I honestly do not have one. They arrived on time if not earlier, added flowers, had great communication, was able to do special designs for the grooms cake, and was patient enough with me (the bride) who didn’t know what she wanted for her cake. My husband and I are planning on having them make a smaller version of our cakes for an anniversary or other special event because they were so good and being the bride and groom we didn’t get to eat all that much the day of our wedding. Thank you Pennington’s Cakes!

Pennington's was amazing! Dealing with them was always pleasant and the prices were very reasonable. Not only did I get my wedding cake(which I loved) but I ordered a green sparkle drum grooms cake which my husband loved as well. The cakes couldn't have turned out better thanks to Pennington’s Cakes!!!

Stephen was so great to work with. He really made the entire process easy. My husband and I met with Stephen to discuss the cake and not only did he help us with suggestions but ensured that our cake was not just beautiful but original. The cake was so delicious, I literally still dream about it. I have already told my husband I want to order a small cake next time we are in the area. The service was great and he is very professional, he was totally on the ball with everything and also made us feel like very valued customers. Our guest RAVED about the cake. I am so happy that I chose to go with Pennington's Cakes. My mom and I went to the store to meet with Steve. He sat down with us and listened to exactly what I wanted. He is a very genuine man and extremely easy to communicate with. They were very flexible with me when I had to change the wedding date and the venue. The cakes turned out exactly as I imagined and described to Steve. They were so tasty and I got many, many compliments from my friends and family. The grooms cake ...was gone within minutes. It was a chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache filling. The brides cake was multi-layered. The first layer was an Italian cream and the second layer was white with a pineapple filling and the top layer (one year anniversary layer) is the Italian cream. I highly recommend this company. They deliver exactly what they promise and I felt very confidnent that my cakes would be great and arrive on time and they did.

Our cakes were gorgeous and delicious! The entire process was so easy from beginning to end with Stephen. My maid of honor saw them setting up, he was there with a level making sure it was perfect. And my boss was sitting at a table near the cake table, she said that she could smell the cake when the breeze was blowing - she was begging for me to bring what little leftovers we had to work the next week! They even looked exactly like the pictures we gave them. I would pick Pennington's again, they were great :)

Hi Steve. We are back from honeymoon and trying to cope with the fact that our beautiful wedding is behind us and we have to rely on memories. Your cakes were a huge hit! Our friends and family are still talking about them to this day. Not only were they beautiful and the Texas cake so cute and fitting, but the taste was excellent. As you can imagine, David and I didn’t get much of it during the wedding but we took some pieces back to the T Bar M and ate it for breakfast the following morning. It was outstanding. I will never forget eating your cake for breakfast the morning after our wedding and loving every minute of it.

Thanks so much for doing exactly what we asked. The cakes could not have been any more perfect. We are already planning to stop in and get a bite of cake next time we are in town. Until then, take good care and nice job!

I first want to start off saying thank you so much to Pennington Cake!

All I did was describe a cake that I wanted and they created "THE PERFECT" cake for my wedding! The wedding cake was simple and classic, just what I wanted. Not only was the cake extremely beautiful, it tasted amazing! It was by far the best chocolate cake with chocolate ganache I have ever had!

The staff is great and was always there when I needed them. I would highly recommend there services in the future and will continue to use them. Thank you Stephen and the crew, y'all are awesome!!

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! They did such a great job from the beginning of the process to the end. I have even used them again since our wedding and probably will any time I need a cake, cookies, etc. I loved everything they did and the cakes tasted wonderful. We also asked them to make "melt away" cookies for our favor bags. I highly recommend these as well. EVERYONE loved them! Very pleased!

My husband and I had our reception cake made by Penningtion's Cakes and were tremendously satisfied. They made a beautiful "Vegas Style", 3 tier, red velvelt cake that was absolutly delicios. They were very helpful and professional and I would recommend anyone to try them out.

Loved Loved Loved our cake! Not only was it tasty, but it was just the way we wanted it! They always ansewred my phone calls, and had good ideas. They also delivered on time on a Sunday!! I was so impressed with my wedding cake from Pennington's Cakes! I planned my wedding from out of state so my mom was able to make it to a testing but I never even spoke with this vendor. However, I could not have been more pleased with the ease of everything. My mom enjoyed the tasting and the baker reflected everything I could have wanted! When i saw my wedding for the first time on the wedding day, I almost cried. It was BEAUTIFUL!! We bought purple ribbon and they lined it around the bottom of each tier (there were 3 tiers) and he added flowers from my florist. When we did the cake cutting and tried it for the first time we were in heaven. It was DELICIOUS! I got 3 layers: 1) vanilla cake with pineapple filling (this is the one I had...so light and fluffy, very yummy! 2) vanilla with chocolate ginoche (spelling??) cream filling and 3) vanilla with raspberry filling. My guests raved about it! I would highly recommend this vendor for your wedding or special occasion!

We ordered two cakes: a three-tiered white cake with lemon filling and a plain angel food cake. (my husband is a die-hard fan of angel food, so he insisted on a second cake.) Choosing the cake was tough, though--all the flavors we tried were delicious, especially the white with pineapple filling.

The cakes were delivered and set up right on time, which was a huge comfort on the big day. I didn't have to worry about them for a moment.

The three-tiered cake came out beautifully decorated exacty as I imagined it, and it tasted even better than it looked. It was perfect all around, and I'm already lookig forward to our first anniversary, when we will pull the top tier out of our freezer! (The angel food cake was fabulous as well, and my husband was pleased as punch that Pennington's was willing to make his favorite in addition to our wedding cake.)

I highly recommend Pennington's! If you're looking for a delicious, flavorful cake and a no-stress wedding experience, this is your place.

I loved my wedding cake!!! Moist-Moist-Moist that is what Pennington's Cakes is known for. I was pleasantly surprised after order my huge wedding cake and two groom's cakes that the price was so reasonable. I love the fact that I was able to use a local vendor and that the quality was so high.

The wedding cake was not only beautiful, but the most delicious cake I've ever had. My groom was also extremely happy with his cake. He fell in love with it as soon as he saw his Nintendo cake. The cake experience for our wedding was completely stress free. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend or re-use them for any other special occasion.
