The live music Chris and his team provided for our intimate Promise Ridge wedding was fantastic. It provide the cinematic, stirring background to our amazing day. I will never forget walking down the aisle to "Liz on Top of the World" from Pride and Prejudice :') Working with Susanne was a dream - she was on top of everything and so easy to work with! -

We loved working with Penn Strings! They were very professional and the music was perfect for our ceremony. We loved that we could choose the music, ask for recommendations, and in some parts of the ceremony we chose to let the musicians decide what music to play. We think they did a great job with everything, and we would highly recommend! -

Penn Strings was awesome to work with from start to finish. We had them play for about 3 hours, including ceremony and then cocktail hour(s). Susanne was a joy to work with throughout the planning stages, from our initial questions to selecting specific pieces of music. We live in a different time zone from PA, so her excellent responsiveness over email made our lives super easy and we greatly appreciate it. The music on the day was lovely, as were the musicians. Thanks for helping to make our day so special! -

Our wedding was 10/15/22 and we had Penn Strings play for our ceremony! We had a string duet with a violin and cello. They were amazing and made our ceremony all the more beautiful. They had a huge song list to chose from! Highly recommend booking them! -

Thank you, THANK YOU for making our wedding day one to remember. The entire booking process was super simple (shout out to the coordinator of Penn Strings, who responded to every email in a timely fashion) and to the artists who came together to make such beautiful music on a day we will remember for the rest of our lives. I had requested "Turning Page" from the Twilight movie as the song I would walk down the aisle to, and no exaggeration, I felt like I was in the movie at that moment in time as I made my way towards my husband. My ultimate dream came true in that moment and I had Penn Strings there to make it all possible. My only regret is that I was not able to attend my own cocktail hour to hear the phenomenal SCOTT BESSER play the piano, which I had wanted for our wedding. I heard great things and am so happy that everyone enjoyed. Thank you again!!!! -

THANK YOU to the Penn Strings team! We had a cello and violin duet for our 8/5 wedding, and the entire experience was gorgeous. Susanne was a joy to plan with and her insight was invaluable. We ran a bit late before our ceremony, and I was so thankful that these amazing professionals were so flexible and able to keep our guests entertained. I think it really elevated our ceremony experience, and I couldn't recommend them enough! -

Penn Strings made my ceremony so beautiful with their music and their talent! To quote one of my guests "it sounded like there was a full orchestra in the Church- amazing!" They were easy to work with and accommodating with our song selection and working with the Organist at the Church. I highly recommend booking them if you are looking to add an incredible touch to your ceremony! -

We hired a string duet from Penn Strings to play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They sounded fabulous, even in the outdoor setting where our wedding took place, and had a great set list of contemporary covers that gave our garden wedding a real Bridgerton vibe :).
Leading up to the big day, Susanne coordinated all of the logistics, and she was such a pleasure to work with. I honestly looked forward to her emails because she was so kind and encouraging as we entered the final stressful days of wedding planning. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend working with Penn Strings to any other couple looking to add some class and elegance to their wedding day. -

What do I recommend about Penn Strings?! Absolutely EVERYTHING! My husband and I got married in October, and choose the string trio for our wedding day to play both our ceremony, as well as cocktail hour. Initially, my husband was the one who suggested Penn Strings as the first vendor choice after we got engaged last year. He had been to a wedding previously where he had the pleasure of first seeing and hearing them perform. After only one soundclip from their website, it was an absolute YES from myself as well! As a former violin player, I have an absolute love and appreciation for both classic and contemporary string music. And let me tell you, they know their music. We were absolutely blown away by the variety of songs in both categories that they are able to play for your special day! We were first introduced to Susanne, who wound up also being our incredible officiant besides. She was so thorough and informative through the process, and made the seemingly overwhelming decision of choosing music for both our ceremony and cocktail hour, a very easy and smooth process. Even offering up suggestions for appropriate songs that we would otherwise know nothing about. Chris and the ladies made our wedding day absolutely magical with their beautiful music! I had always dreamed of walking down the aisle to Pachelbel, and they made that the most beautiful reality that I could have ever imagined. They were so beyond friendly, accomodating, professional and talented. Our guests truly enjoyed every second of them playing, and could not stop complimenting on their performance. By choosing Penn Strings, and this beautiful live performance, our wedding day was transformed into some of the most magical moments of our life. I will never forget that walk down the aisle! They offer extremely affordable packages for every type of occasion, and song lists that will fit every single persons taste of music. We could not be more grateful to Susanne, Chris, and Penn Strings for making out wedding day the best day ever! And for making the whole process of planning everything such a smooth ride! Thank you again for everything!

Penn Strings is a talented group of professionals that we were delighted to have play at our ceremony. Working with Penn Strings was very easy, even though we only finalized our music selections in the final weeks before our wedding. Our only regret was not taking the time to work with them sooner because despite the incredible list of songs to choose from (traditional, country, modern, video-game inspired, etc.!), they will even work with you on custom music if the time allows. But finding music we both enjoyed from the library of songs available wasn't difficult - There was much to choose from and we were able to create a unique playlist. We would highly recommend Penn Strings if you are looking for a versatile, professional, and talented string musician or group for your wedding or event! -

Margaret Sent on 06/29/2018I cannot say enough about Penn Strings. Susanne Wilson was a dream to work with. This group was professional from our first inquiry to the last song. We chose a string quartet to play during the ceremony & the cocktail hour.
Their playlist was extensive and it covered all genres of music-classical, Broadway tunes, Ethnic songs, contemporary songs, and much more. The choices were phenomenal.
Chris Sousa, the lead violinist was fabulous as were the other musicians. I could not have been more pleased with Penn Strings. -

User2341271 Sent on 09/29/2015I used penn strings for my wedding at the stroudsmoor country inn this last august (2015). Stroudsmoor Country inn refered us to penn strings. I used a violin/chello duo. They did an amazing job. The music sounded beautiful. They have a great/updated playlist to work with or are willing to learn new songs too!
Susanne Wilson who does their bookings was a pleasure to work with. She is also an officiant for journeys of the heart. We used her as our officiant too, and there are not enough nice words to say about her. I would definitely recommend penn strings. They are affordable/professional/talented. -

I knew immediately I had to have them be a part of our wedding day. We booked with them almost 2 years ago, as well. Throughout the entire experience the kept in touch, keeping on point with all the details. We had an in studio meeting about 2 months before our wedding to listen and choose the perfect songs for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Chris was so professional, personal and flexible in working with us to perfect our vision. The music was absolutely stunning, the staff is a pleasure to work with, and I would honestly recommend them to anyone looking for this exquisite touch to your special day. -

Joanna Sent on 02/05/2010They were WONDERFUL for our wedding. We had an outdoor ceremony and the music was beautiful. I called them based on finding them online. Since we live in Colorado and got married in PA we had to plan this part without meeting them until the day of event. They sent us a CD to listen to to help us pick what we wanted and worked with us on the phone to customize the music to our liking! Then on the day of they appeared right when they were supposed to ... played breathtaking music and were just wonderful! I would HIGHLY suggest to friends looking for strings for their ceremony - just wonderful!!!! :-) -

Emily Sent on 06/10/2013I got married on March 30, 2013 at Stroudsmoor Country Inn. My wedding planner recommended Penn Strings to us. My husband and I loved them from the very first time we met. During the interview, the violinist played a variety of samples and had a great, friendly personality. Their website is wonderful if you are interested in hearing samples. If there is a song not in their repertoire (which is unlikely) they will learn it for you. The only complaint I had was that it was difficult at times to get in contact with their secretary. They were very professional though and our family and friends loved hearing them play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. I highly recommend Penn Strings. -

Dana Sent on 09/07/2010We truly enjoyed meeting with Chris and Agnieszka to go over music selections. They did a few custom numbers for us, including James Brown, I feel good. Anything they do sounds great on the Cello and Violin. Chris and Agnieszka were not available for our wedding date, so they selected 2 very talented musicians to come in their place. Everything went well and music added a great ambiance to our wedding. -

String Duet for Wedding Ceremony
We had a duet for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and we were very impressed. Even though it was quite cold out the music was beautiful and fluent. The musicians were professional and flexible to the weather.
We were not necessarily impressed with the planning process before the wedding; specifically, the coordinator could not keep deadlines that they themselves set, which we found very frustrating. But day of we have absolutely no complaints. -
