Great Experience

Pearl's is a great vendor for delicious, highly customizable wedding cake spreads. My husband and I went with a two-tiered cake in our favorite flavor and four additional flavors of cupcakes, including gluten-free and vegan options. They were also easily able to make updates to the quote as our guest count and preferences solidified closer to the wedding date.

Beautiful cakes and cupcakes!

Our cupcakes and wedding cake turned out beautifully! I showed them an image from Pinterest that i wanted and they recreated it perfectly!! Their florist is also super talented we bought some flowers and they made it happen. It was delicious and beautiful. They are also great to work with.

Delicious Wedding Dessert Table

Pearl's did our wedding cake and dessert table. We were looking for something non-traditional and fun (+ delicious, obviously!). Pearl's never disappoints and the brownies, cookies, tarts, pops, and cake were delicious. There were hardly any leftovers! The tasting at their store was really fun and we enjoyed working with their staff. It was super easy. Will go back to grab a cupcake sometime soon!

Amazing experience and GREAT cake!!

Pearl's made our wedding day so special with the most delicious lemon cake with blueberry compote! They were a delight to work with and made pickup so easy. We appreciated that they had a delivery option as well!

Wedding Favors

When thinking about favors to give our guests at our wedding, my husband & I wanted to give our guests something everyone would enjoy & incorporate RVA in some way and we landed on Pearls cookies! The staff at Pearls was absolutely amazing to work with. They patiently sat with us at the consultation meeting and provided great suggestions as we designed each cookie. Our guests absolutely loved them & everyone kept telling us how gorgeous & delicious they were! Highly recommend!!

Dreamy (and delicious) vendor!

As a planner in the industry, I was excited to work with Pearl's for my client's event! Pearl's create a beautiful custom groom's cake for my client's rehearsal dinner, and not only was the cake absolutely stunning (and delicious), but the communication with the bakery staff was clear, thoughtful, prompt, and they arrived to deliver within the exact window they promised (which is the BEST when you're a planner balancing tight timelines and a venue's tricky delivery windows). Looking forward to working with the Pearl's team again!

Our Wedding Cake

Paul went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect wedding cake. We went in for a tasting and everything tasted great but not what I envisioned for our wedding day. Paul customized a cake flavor for us! Thank you for making our wedding cake perfect.

Gluten-free goodness!

Pearl’s is, hands down, the best bakery in Richmond. My gluten-free, nut-free three-tier wedding cake was absolutely delicious. We had a layer of lemon, a layer of lime and a layer of carrot and each were so moist and flavorful. Several of our guests took some leftovers home and had it for breakfast the next day, it was that good. If I hadn’t told them it was gluten free, they all said they would not have known. During the planning process, the team was very careful to note our allergens and assure us of their processes to keep me (a gluten-free bride) and our guests with nut allergies safe. I highly recommend Pearl’s, especially if you have special dietary needs.

Our guests loved Pearl's!

We ordered a variety of cupcakes and a small cutting cake from Pearl’s for our wedding. The tasting Kiyanna put together for us beforehand was fantastic- it was delicious, informational, and really helpful in choosing the flavors we wanted. They were easily accommodating to make some of our cupcakes gluten-free, and made sure each of those boxes were well-labeled. They even set aside a small box of cupcakes to be put in the bride and groom’s suite on our wedding night, such a wonderful touch! And of course, our guests raved about how amazing all of the cupcakes were! Thanks to Pearl’s for making our big day so sweet!

Delicious cake

The wedding cake was beautiful, exactly what we wanted and the cake was delicious. They delivered to Charlottesville and were reasonably priced! Definitely a good choice for wedding cakes and cupcakes any other day!

Delicious!!!

Our wedding cake from Pearl's (Richmond not C-ville) was perfect!!! We have dietary restrictions so we wanted a vegan/gluten free cake for us and had already ordered regular dessert for non-restricted guests, and our vanilla/almond cake was SO good that everyone wanted it instead!! The decoration was also exactly what we had wanted!! Can't wait to go back and get more cake for our anniversary! :)

Amazing to work with -- delicious cakes!

We got married on May 4 at the VMFA in Richmond and cannot say enough great things about Pearls!! They made all of our midcentury, abstract, pop art, minimalist, modern art, brushstroke-loving dreams come true :) Does it sound like that concept might be hard to pull off? You wouldn't know it from working with the amazing ladies at Pearls! They took on our requests and were great to collaborate with -- not a moment of stress or worry working with the event team and designer. We got lots of compliments on how delicious the cakes were and how amazing it looked. The tasting was very personalized and lots of fun. Thanks, Elizabeth, for hooking us up!!

Beautiful and Delicious!!

We had an awesome experience with the Pearl's team! From the tasting to the execution- everything went seamlessly and our guests raved about the desserts (and they were all gluten free)! We had a tiered cake, cupcakes and drop cookies and we cannot recommend Pearl's enough!!

Great cake for a celiac bride

Unfortunately Pearl's is no longer in Charlottesville, but knowing about the bakery I was really interested in having them create a cake for my wedding. It turned out not to be a problem. We were able to pick up the cake the day before and it was absolutely delicious and beautiful and to a lot of people's surprise...entirely gluten-free! Their customer service is also wonderful, I would highly recommend them.

They made our 3 tier cake and it was fabulous. We had a cake tasting which was awesome then we selected 3 different favors for each tier. They worked with us on the timing of delivery, the icing and cake topper just as we wanted and left us cupcakes for after the wedding. We worked with Sophia and her customer service was excellent.
All our guests loved the cake. Highly recommend!!!

We had Pearl's for our wedding cake and had the BEST experience with them! The cake was Amazing, and it looked absolutely perfect. All of our guests kept getting up and going back for second slices of cake, with many of them asking who we had gotten it through. We can not rave enough about how much we loved working with them through the process, and how easy they made it for us during the panning process-(especially being we lived out of town and were planning from afar.). We can't wait to get our first year anniversary cake from them next year! (And a cupcake or two the next time we are in town! ;)

From the very beginning of the process, everyone at Pearl's was nothing but kind and helpful. The communication, quality of product, and customer service overall make them unrivaled in what they do. I was actually unable to make the tasting appointment, but they walked through everything with my husband, writing up everything they discussed and boxed up 10 cupcakes for us to try at home that evening! We mixed and matched flavors - which was never an issue with them and got so many compliments on how delicious (and beautiful!) they were all night! After receiving quotes from other bakers, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Pearl's was far more affordable than the others that we looked at.

Pearl's is just phenomenal. Laurie and her team are SO easy to work with and very flexible with changes to our flavor selections. The team that came to our venue and setup our cupcakes did an amazing job--our guests couldn't stop complimenting the display and how beautiful it was! and not to mention how delicious everything was. We can't thank y'all enough for doing such a fabulous job! and would absolutely recommend Pearl's to anyone looking for cake/cupcakes!

We loved Pearls! The tasting was one of the best parts! Everyone raved about the cupcakes and at the end of the night, they were all gone. Also instead of having to eat our old cake on our anniversary, they gift you with a certificate to come back and they'll make you a new cake for your anniversary! They were also extremely accommodating with my dairy allergy, they made it so I was still able to do a tasting with vegan options.

Everyone was blown away by our cake! We got a non-traditional flavor (Corporate Climber- grapefruit, lime, rosemary) and it was a huge huge crowd pleaser. The cake was beautiful and everyone at Pearls was lovely to work with.

PEARL'S IS AMAZING! Of course, they came HIGHLY recommended and we certainly are grateful for all of the reviews we were able to read as well to help us navigate this billion dollar wedding industry! Decisions, decisions! Their cakes and cupcakes are SO exquisite! We got gluten-free cupcakes and they were a hit! Of course, one of the best things about Pearl's is their pricing. They have something for everyones budget. It doesn't matter if you're having a wedding or an anniversary or bridal shower or baby shower or birthday, they can handle it and with such finesse! They are true artists and it shows in everything they touch! Everything was perfect and delicious and the compliments poured in all evening!

Pearls made our cake dreams come true! You really can't go wrong with so many flavors to choose from. We couldn't decide, so had 3 separate cakes: Choconut (think Nutella, it was the crowd favorite), triple threat (a lavender infused vanilla cake with a triple berry compote filling frosted with a honey lavender buttercream), and Lemon Ricotta (lemon ricotta batter with a blackberry compote filling topped with blackberry buttercream). They were easy to work with and super affordable, and created picture perfect cakes! Highly recommend!

We had cupcakes and a small wedding cake for our wedding. All the cakes were delicious, and the presentation was great as well. The milkshake cupcake is the best. Highly recommend.

Pearls created our wedding cake and grooms cake and I can honestly say that the grooms cake was the most talked about detail of the whole weekend! They created a beautiful 5 tiered elegant and classic cake for our wedding cake and then created the most amazing stadium cake for our grooms cake. My husband and I met at Auburn University and he is a die hard football fan. I surprised him with this stadium cake for his grooms cake and he was so impressed and in love with it that he didnt want to cut it at the wedding! I only gave them a few pictures of some similar stadium cakes I had seen, but they created something that was so much more than I could have ever imagined! Seriously amazing!

Not only are their cakes so tasty, but they also give you a voucher for a "1 year anniversary" top layer cake so you don't have to freeze and eat 1-year-old cake on your anniversary!

I highly recommend Pearls!!!

We ordered cupcakes and a single tier of cake for our wedding (even though my husband is more of a pie person). Even my husband agrees that these are the most incredible cupcakes in the entire world. Pearl's also offered us the opportunity to rent cupcake stands and they were absolutely beautiful. Even with the stand rental, we came in under budget for cake. We intentionally ordered more cupcakes than we needed since we were having 3 different varieties. One of our varieties was completely gone at the end of the night. And I was so excited to come home with extras. We served them at brunch the next morning and I have never seen kids so happy. Pearl's also gave us a gift certificate for an anniversary cake. They told us that they don't want anyone eating year-old cake. I love them and their amazing cakes.

Pearl's was fabulous. I knew I liked them right off when they actually treated my husband-to-be as part of the planning, and not just an accessory to me, the bride. They were a great price for what they offered, and delicious. I had multiple people say they don't usually like cake, but they LOVED the ones we had. Multiple people also said that they ate a slice of each flavor (Candied Sweet Potato and Fancy - brown sugar rum cake with pear filling). Our GF guests also raved about the GF cupcakes we added on, and our two dairy allergy guests were blown away by the dairy-free cupcakes. It was so awesome that we were able to order just a handful of their GF and DF "cupcakes of the day" instead of having to order a whole dozen specially. I was also so happy that their cake setter uppers needed minimal instruction to put the flowers on it at the venue during set-up.

Professionalism: All the staff are wonderful to deal with and very accommodating. I am getting married next October 2017, and initially had no idea what I wanted until I met with Laurie. She is so personable, and really helped me figure out what we wanted. The creative/decorative team is wonderful as well - they (Sarah) sat down with me and helped me come up with a cake design that I absolutely loved within a matter of 5 minutes. They also rent out their ornate cupcake/cake stands which just on their own are show pieces. I am very excited to be working with them.

Ok, now we get to the good stuff, taste: I live in NYC which has many places that claim to 'have the best cupcakes'. Pearls hands down beats out all the other cupcakes I've ever tried. My fiancé agrees. I mean, truly delicious. If you go to their website they have 100s of flavors (check our specialty cupcakes on their website) to choose from (and every single one I've tried so far has been delicious). The team works with you so that you know what would work best in a cake, etc. You can also do a mix of cupcakes and a traditional cake (which is what I'm doing).

Value: very reasonably priced for the quality of product you are getting and for wedding cakes! Laurie also was very straightforward about which combination of cupcakes/cake is the most cost effective. I like that I felt that I could trust her and she had my interests in mind.

If this post sounds like I'm raving its because they deserve nothing less. I am so excited they are doing our wedding desserts!!

My husband and I were so excited to go with Pearl's for our wedding cake and cupcakes! We wanted a more complicated design for the cake, which worried me (two layers, the bottom a suitcase and the top a globe, in brown and tan for a rustic look). But when I saw the finished product I was floored! We also ordered cupcakes for our guests. Pearl's had so may options and flavors, it was hard to choose. The even worked with us to change some of the colors to our wedding colors! Lastly, they gave us a cupon for a free cake for our first anniversary. The only thing I caution is that they don't do delivery on Sundays, when they are closed. But the staff was great and willing to work with us, so we just picked everything up the day before. We even had them make a carrot cake for the rehearsal dinner, which everyone loved. The are truly amazing bakery artists.

We had 5-6 different cake tastings and we could not stop talking about Pearls. We went with the Champaign and Red Velvet flavors and there were a hit with everyone. I found a picture of the cake I wanted and Pearls ensured they could do it. From beginning to end Pearls knocked it out of the park. So many people complimented the cake and asked where it came from. We have no complaints and recommend their product and services as both were outstanding.

Pearls makes delicious cupcakes, so when I decided I knew I wanted to get married in Charlottesville, I knew I had to use Pearls. The cake they made for the wedding was delicious and they did an amazing decorating job. They included a voucher for our first anniversary (so we did not freeze our top layer). They were very easy and did a great consultation. I highly recommend this vendor.

My husband and I went into Pearl's while we were searching for a cake vendor and purchased two of their daily cupcakes to try out. We requested a contract with them that night via email. The Pearl's staff is fantastic and so easy to work with. I communicated with both Laurie and Kiyanna to set up the contract, and they were so accommodating! At the time, we were unsure of the type of cake/cupcake distribution we wanted, and our guest count was nowhere near finalized, but Pearl's allowed us to book our date with an estimated count and deposit.

Kiyanna came in on a holiday to help us with our official tasting. She helped us finalize all of the color and flavor details for our cutting cake and cupcakes. We chose to have two cupcake flavors, but Pearl's does allow up to five. A month before the wedding, we were able to increase our cupcake count without a hitch. From there on, Pearl's communicated directly with our reception venue to deliver and set up our cake and cupcakes. We were very flexible with our cake and cupcake design; our only request was that the Nutty Bee cupcakes and the inside of our cutting cake be purple. WOW is the best word I can use to describe what Pearl's came up with. The purple color was absolutely gorgeous!

We recently used Pearl's Cupcakes for the cake and cupcakes at our wedding. Both the cake and cupcakes were absolutely delicious, not to mention beautiful as well. Our guest couldn’t get enough! Throughout the entire process, Pearl’s was very friendly and easy to communicate with! On the day of, everything was delivered in a timely and orderly manner. They are incredibly talented at what they do. We would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a baker for their special event.

We love Pearl's! We chose to do cupcakes (regular size) for our wedding and our guests couldn't get enough. Luckily Pearl's advised us to get a couple dozen more in addition to the number of people we expected which was excellent advice as everyone had at least 1 cupcake. We'll definitely be back for our 1 year anniversary to celebrate!

Wanda & I went to Pearl's because they make the greatest cup cakes. We showed them our wedding ideas for the two wedding cakes and we taste tested various flavors. The rest of the selection was easy. Pearl's made a two-tiered wedding cake for our small wedding and it was delicious! We did a traditional white cake with buttercream and strawberry filling. This was coordinated through our venue's wedding coordinator, who said Pearl's is their go-to cake shop for weddings. We are looking forward to ordering our anniversary cake!

Working with Pearl's Cupcakes to plan and design our wedding cake was a pleasure. They are very professional and have mastered the process to make everything easy for all parties involved through each stage.
You do not have to pay for a cupcake tasting with them! You are allowed to pick 5 flavors and you are greeted with 10 full size cupcakes (2 of each flavor) upon your arrival to the tasting appointment. Whatever you can't eat they will pack and you will take it home with you.
Our wedding cake was delivered exactly as discussed. The cake tasted amazing and looked beautiful too. You will also receive a certificate for a free 6 inch cake that you can claim on your first anniversary!:) It doesn't get better than that:)

Pearl's created a custom tie-dyed wedding cake for us that was as delicious as it was eye catching. Our grooms cake was also a one-of-a-kind chocolate delight. The staff was personable and passionate about their work. Our guest were amazed and loved every bite.

Pearls makes the best cakes and cupcakes in town! All of our guests loved the flavors we served. Pearls was able to take a very intricate design that we had used on our invitations and put it on our cake and it looked amazing.

I ordered a 6" bride and groom cake and a variety of cupcakes for my guests. If you've ever eaten at Pearl's you'd know that they make the absolute best cupcakes in Richmond. Everything was delicious. We were even able to choose a design for our cake at no additional cost. I asked for a textured ruffles look and they nailed it. The cupcakes were elegantly decorated for the wedding, too. Pearl's was also extremely generous throughout the process. If you go in for a tasting, you get to choose 4 or so different cupcake flavors to try. They bring out 2 of each, and the best part is you get to take all leftovers home. They also gifted us with a certificate for a free 6" cake for our 1-year anniversary. And I have to mention that I spent less than half of what I budgeted. Go ahead and book your tasting today, you won't regret it!

I could not have made a more delicious and wonderful choice for our wedding dessert than Pearl's. We had many guests with special diet needs and Pearl's was so accommodating. They have sugar free, gluten free, vegan, etc. and a ton of flavors! We went with cupcakes instead of a standard cake but they can do either. Plus, Their staff is awesome! The cupcakes were incredible (they always are though!), and every single guest mentioned how beautiful they were too! Prices were very reasonable and the staff even delivered and set up for a very small fee. They even have a special gift for the newly weds! Overall, amazing experience.

Pearl's is a great place to work with! They were so good to us during the tasting, giving 2 full cupcakes of each flavor. They took their time with the tasting and listened to ideas.
The cupcakes were a delicious hit! We got Wicked Good Sister, German Chocolate, Berrylicious Wilma, and Funfetti. Guests loved the cupcakes and the takeout boxes we got from Pearl's so they could take some home. My only wish is that I could change flavors to more light and fruity choices; the rich, chocolate flavors were a bit too much on a hot summer evening.

After interviewing several cake makers, I was shocked at the cost of a wedding cake. We decided to go for cupcakes instead since they are cheaper, easier to grab, and you can do different flavors. We live in Richmond but were having our wedding in va beach. We just couldn't find a cupcake place in that area that seemed creditable. In richmond, Pearls is a staple and very reputable. I took the chance to order their cupcakes and transport them ourselves and Im so glad we did. The different flavors were absolutely delicious and very attractive looking. We also got a 6 in cake to cut and gluten free cake pops. We rented their stands which were so adorable on the cake table. They were very easy to work with, professional, affordable, and they even gave us a complimentary anniversary cake for the next year. Pearls is the best!

We used Pearl's for our April 2014 wedding. We worked with one of the owners, Laura, and we were very happy with the whole experience. We didn't want the cake to be the focus and also wanted guests to take goodies home if they wanted. We scheduled a tasting and were treated to a multitude of options based on our ideas. Have to say, I had never had a french macaron before...wow have I been missing out! We ended up getting these (because they can be made any color you want!, and because they are delicious!), snickerdoodles (my favorite, and their version melt in your mouth), cake pops (individually wrapped and great for take home) and an 8 inch cake for cutting. They work regularly with our venue 'The Mill at Fine Creek (see my review of that awesome place) and had no problem delivering and setting up everything there on the day of the wedding. Laura made great presentation suggestions and was very easy to work with. We also thought the cost was very reasonable. We are very happy to recommend Pearl's for any dessert-needing occasion!

I chose Pearl's for my groom's cake because their cupcakes are so delicious! Ordering my cake months ahead of time was so easy. I just walked in, told them what I want (a cake as an iPhone with a picture of our beagle on it) and how many people. Their quote was very affordable and we ended up with way more cake than we needed anyway! I gave them a credit card then and they didn't charge me extra for delivery to the venue. I can't say enough about how wonderful the cake was. It was the hit of the rehearsal dinner! Absolutely beautiful, they matched the picture I sent of my dog perfectly!! It looked just like him and they did it with icing! And the cake was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever had. I would recommend them a million times over, and so will all of my guests!

Pearl's was great! We really enjoyed working with the staff, who were all very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They made good, reasonable suggestions based on the projected heat of an outdoor July wedding. Their cupcakes and cutter cake were delicious and beautiful! The most exciting part is that they give a free new cutter cake for the first anniversary so you don't have to eat year-long frozen cake. They are professionals who know how to do weddings.

Pearl's Cupcake Shoppe is the best by far! So much in fact, we paid extra to have our wedding cake delivered from Richmond to Virginia Beach and it was absolutely worth it. Despite its 90+ minute commute from Richmond, the cake was moist, flavorful and absolutely beautiful upon delivery.

Pearl's is by far the best place ANYWHERE and believe me, we tried a LOT of cake from a LOT of places because we were very strict with our budget and our location was a little far for most places to deliver. Everything else within our price range that would deliver to our site tasted either dry or fake. Pearl's is the real deal. They use REAL butter and REAL cream cheese, and it was extremely moist and everyone loved it. I usually hate wedding cake, but ours was perfect. We got the Brown Butter Pumpkin cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting. They explained that the cream cheese on the outside of the cake wouldn't give us the effect we wanted but that they would still be able to achieve both the look and the taste we wanted by combining the two icings. They were right. It looked and tasted awesome.

They were really flexible with us to help us find a design within our budget and went out of their way to find decorative grapes that would fit our aesthetic and our price range rather than simply saying that the picture we gave them was something too expensive for our budget. They painted the grapes the EXACT colors we asked for and delivered it within the perfect time frame to our site, even though it was a LONG way from Richmond. They are pros at what they do and we will definitely be getting future cakes from them. I am so glad that my mother-in-law found them in the newspaper, and really proud of the results of their work. Thanks, Pearl's, Laura, Laurie, Mary, and everyone else for making our cake a huge success and the talk of the wedding!

Pearl's is amazing on many levels. From the first bite of the tasting through our anniversary, they have us covered. We tasted 5 different flavors, taking home the extra. The cost of the cupcake (expensive, yes, but not outrageous) is the cost of the cupcake, regardless of the event. This is unlike many other places where the second you even whisper "wedding" price doubles or triples. Our wedding was on a sunday and there would have been an additional charge for delivery, so we chose to pick them up the day before. They were perfectly packaged and kept with no trouble. They were moist, amazing, and delicious more than 24 hours later. I never had problems getting in touch with anyone, or making changes to the order. We originally were going to use their stands and decided not to. I'd recommend not. You can easily find less expensive ones. They were fine with it. I also added another dozen, and changed one of the flavors and everything was perfect.

Pearl's Cupcake Shoppe created a 3-tier wedding cake for our wedding, and it was amazing! I was not at all surprised that it turned out so great because from the taste-testing, I knew that they make delicious cupcakes :) Their "Plain Jane" (vanilla) flavor is wonderful as well as their lemon. I was very pleased with how the look of the cake turned out -- just like I had imagined! If you're looking for great-tasting cakes with buttercream frosting, this is the place to check out. They do a great job at making the buttercream look smooth so that it looks like fondant but of course, tastes amazing (unlike fondant). The price for the 3-tier cake was way better than the other three bakers I was considering. You get an amazing cake for an amazing price! I highly recommend them!

Pearl's was so great! We did cupcakes and then a small 1 tier for our cutting cake. The flavors were amazing! I highly recommend the Royal Wilma- Champagne cake! They delivered the day of and placed them on the stands. I would highly recommend paying the little bit extra to have them do that. They also give you a certificate to come back a year later, on your anniversary, for a replica of your original cake. YUMM!
Only part that lost them the 5 star was that they said they would call me the week of to let me know of their gluten free flavors so that I could choose one for my matron of honor. They never called :( She got to enjoy the icing, but no cake.

I used Pearl's on Grove Avenue in Richmond. I loved pearl's cupcakes before I got married. I tried a couple of other cake places, but Pearl's was still my favorite and much more cost effective. Everyone loved the flavors. The only problem I had was I order a gluten free cupcake for my now father-in-law, and it was left out when my aunt and uncle picked up the order. Unfortunately, he did not get to eat cake. Even with this slip up I would still choose them again in a heartbeat.

We new that Pearl's was the only choice for our wedding cake. I lived in Richmond for 4 years and Pearl's was hands-down my favorite cupcake place. Never met a cupcake there that I didn't like. We did a wedding 3-tier cake and groom's cake shaped like a dog bone. Our guests had only positive things to say about the decoration of each. We chose 3 flavors for the cakes: brown sugar vanilla, cabernet chocolate, and lemon with fresh blue berries. Everything was coated in vanilla buttercream, which is delicious. I heard rave reviews about each of the flavors. My one tip is that for more responsive communication with the shop, go old school and pick up the phone. It will make the whole planning process easier for both you and the shop. Go to Pearl's!

We had cupcakes by Pearl's and they were AMAZING! Highly recommend them, reasonable price and the tasting was awesome. We got six flavors to taste and got two of each flavor. We were on a sugar high after we left but man were they good. They give you a gift card for your one year anniversary so you have a fresh cutting cake to celebrate with at the first anniversary. We love them and had them transport the cupcakes to Fredericksburg. We did pay a small fee but it was so worth it to have those cupcakes at our wedding. We will go back monthly for cupcakes. My husband's brother had their cupcakes at his wedding two years ago and I will never forget the taste of the Campfire cupcake and knew when we got engaged that I had to have that Campfire cupcake at my wedding. Sometimes they were a little slow responding to emails and I had to call a few times to make sure they got our money because we didn't see it cashed within a week of sending it but they were fabulous in person and flexible.

Pearl's is wonderful! The delivery vehicle was rear-ended on the way to the venue. Fortunately, no one was hurt. However, the cakes were a little lopsided. So they rushed them back to the bakery to fix them up. They returned with the baker in case anything happened on the way! You can't ask for better service than that. The cakes were a little late, but they still tasted great! Everyone was really pleased. And as an apology, Pearl's sent my groom and I some cupcakes, too!

Pearl's Cupcakes was one of the major highlights of my wedding- months later and our friends and family are still raving about them. Getting in touch with Pearl's through their website was challenging- I would suggest calling their store during business hours- every time I called someone was able to work with me immediately. The cupcake tasting is 5 full sized cupcakes and the couple can even bring two guests, which worked very well for us to get input on how to narrow down our options. We had split our order of 75 cupcakes into 3 different flavors and they were still much cheaper than a decorated cake at the near by bakeries- not to mention MUCH better tasking. The cupcake tower, take home boxes, and free delivery to our venue were included in the order, which could be changed up to a week before the event- we could not have asked for better service or a more delicious end to our wedding meal!

Pearls created a gorgeous four-tier wedding cake for us. After our initial consultation with Pearls, we knew they were the right pick for us! During the tasting they let you choose 5 flavors to try. They give you a whole cupcake of each flavor, and even pack up the extras for you to take home! I brought pictures along and explained exactly what I was looking for in the design on the cake. When the wedding came, I was not disappointed! Our cake was SO gorgeous! To be honest, we didn't even get to have a whole piece of it on our wedding day. All we got to try was the piece we fed one another..but that piece was delicious!

When our wedding planner asked who's doing our cake and we said Pearls, she was so excited! They're considered as having the best wedding cakes in Richmond. Tons of flavors to choose from. Beautiful designs. The wedding day went perfectly. And the cake tasting was so much fun.

Pearl’s did an amazing job with all the cupcakes and our cutting cake! We rented the gold display stands from them and they set up a lovely display. We had many compliments on how good the cupcakes were; guests could not have been happier. Our cutting cake was delicious and looked beautiful. Pearl's did a wonderful job with our wedding cake. The guest loved the flavors and they included some wonderful perks for me and my husband, such as, cupcakes for our wedding night and a one year anniversary cake! Communication can be a lil issue, so I suggest to go in person to see them in comparison to phone or email, other than that it was a wonderful experience and would couldn't have had a better wedding cake!!

Pearl's Cupcake Shoppe was highly recommended by my wedding coordinator, LK Events. After tasting their cupcakes, I realized why! They have a wide selection of flavors. At our tasting, they gave my fiance and I one cupcake each of each flavor to sample and told us to stop by anytime before the wedding to sample other flavors. They were also very honest about the effects of the heat on our air-whipped frostings, giving us the option of either switching to butter cream frosting or changing to a different cupcake flavor. The only negative is that they have a high rental fee for their cupcake stands, but that didn't take away from the deliciousness of their cupcakes. Everyone loved our cupcakes!

Pearl's cupcakes are amazing! We had tasted at Ukrops, Westhampton, and had attempted Jean Jacques (but were stood up twice), but weren't blown away by anything we had tasted so far. Tasting at Pearl's was incredibly easy. We set up the appointment and picked the flavors we wanted to try, the owner went over the pricing and contract with us, and we booked them two days later. We didn't even taste anywhere else. After that, we picked the flavors we wanted and a design for our cutting cake and we were done. They were very easy to work with throughout the entire process. Pearl's came highly recommended to us by several sources. The cupcakes might be slightly more expensive than other local cupcake shops, but are still cheaper than a wedding cake. Our guests absolutely loved the cupcakes at our wedding and would not stop raving about them for weeks afterwards. We will be Pearl's customers for life now and I would highly recommend Pearl's to anyone for cupcakes or cakes for any occasion.

All I have to say is YUM! I'm a vegan bride, and have been searching high and low for a vegan-friendly wedding cake baker. Our wedding isn't until October, but my fiance and I had our tasting in February. We live out of town, and could only visit Pearl's during Valentine's Day weekend - not exactly the best timing for a bakery. Pearl's was fantastic. They had a line out the door, but still had my cupcake tasting waiting for me. And WOW. So delicious. It's hard to pick a favorite flavor....I'm definitely looking forward to eating our wedding cake, and I'm not even a big dessert person!

The cupcakes and cake topper were delicious but we did have a small issue on our wedding day. My husband contacted Pearls the day before the wedding to add gluten free cupcakes to accommodate our guests and the cupcakes never made it to the wedding. Other than that, everything was great and we get cupcakes from Pearls regularly.

Pearls was great - ours was a smaller order but we got great service and attention. We did a dessert bar (instead of a big cake) including Pearls' mini cupcakes, and had Pearls' enormous cookies (Snickerdoodles and Monster) for the favor bags - the guests loved and ate up everything, all was delicious and gorgeous! Jenn was wonderful to work with, we had lots of options (needed some with no alcohol, and preferred no fillings) and they allowed us to tweek some varieties. The delivery and setup was right on time and though things were crazy they made sure to check with us that everything was just right before they left. Would definitely recommend, and will try to be in their area often just so I can pop in and pick up some goodies just for fun!

Delicious wedding cupcakes

Pearls makes some of the best cupcakes out there and they truly delivered for our wedding. While some of the communication was delayed (they have been extremely busy at their store) we were still able to tell them what we wanted and they made us some of the most delicious cupcakes ever!

Delicious and Beautiful

We knew we wanted Pearl's to make our wedding cake but we had some back and forth on what exactly we wanted. They were very flexible and gave us great suggestions. In the end we chose a small and tall cake with cupcakes and it turned out beautifully.

The best cupcakes in Richmond

Everyone at our wedding loved our cupcakes and wedding cake from Pearl's. They did a great job and were flexible when we wanted to change our flavors several times during planning. We have 5 different cupcake flavors in addition to our wedding cake. They also had beautiful stands to rent. Pearl's definitely has the best cupcakes in Richmond!

We had reached out to Pearl's kind of lat minute due to a change in our catering company's work policy. They were able to accompany us on such short notice, which was very helpful. We had ordered a small cutting cake and about 140 cupcakes for our reception and they were fantastic. People are still raving about how great they were! We will definitely return in the future for some treats when we are visiting!

Pearl's made us the most DIVINE chocolate and raspberry wedding cake-- it got tons of compliments from guests, and we loved eating the leftovers (for weeks... no complaints). Thank you!

Pearl's was recommended to us by a friend. In the beginning, I was a little worried, but as things progressed towards the wedding, everything went smoothly. We had some trouble communicating with them through the phone and email, so, I would suggest making a trip to the shop if you need to make changes or anything. We ended up choosing the Campfire, Drumstick, Strawberry Shortcake, and some vegan Tiramisu. We got a 6" cutter cake that was Carrot Cake flavored and rented out silver cupcake stands with hanging beads on them for the day of the reception. We paid everything in full, and would get a partial refund for the stands once they were cleaned and returned after the event. Not too long after we had placed our order, my mother-in-law suggested adding a few more flavors since we were able to make any changes up to 2 weeks prior to the event. We ended up adding the Mint Chocolate Chip and the Candy Cup (peanut butter flavored). Normally, they charge $20 for each flavor after 5 in addition to the price of the cupcakes, but they were able to add the two flavors at no additional cost since I didn't order a lot of the Tiramisu cupcake. They gave me the new balance, which my mother-in-law was able to pay at a later date. The day of the reception, the cupcakes were delivered to our venue perfectly and they set up a wonderful display. Our cutter cake was plain and simple, but they can decorate to fit your needs. They also included a certificate for a free 6" anniversary cake one year from the day of your event. Upon returning the stands, we did receive our partial refund. Overall, very delicious cupcakes and a hit at the reception!

Pearl's provided our wedding cake, which was a 3-tiered cake and not cupcakes. While Pearl's is pricier than many other options we looked at, they certainly had the tastiest cake and the most varied flavor combinations of any of the bakeries we looked at. Definitely come hungry to the cake tasting because they give you full-sized cupcakes of the 5 flavors you get to try! They help you design the cake and they gave us exactly what we wanted just based on pictures and written ideas, as we were planning the wedding from out of town. The only negative we have of the experience is that they delivered the cake much later than we expected, but they made it on time for the reception.
