Best wedding hype guy ❤️

We worked with Steven for our wedding. He was accommodating of our requests to communicate early, and he was able to take our direction and turn it into a great party that we enjoyed and our guests loved. He was flexible as well when we wanted to use a family member’s recording for processional music, which I appreciate so much as it made the day really special. During the event he was checking in with us at good times and able to keep the flow going during the non-dance portions of the event. Steven clearly loves his work and loves the couples he works with. Wedding planning is very stressful but he made this part easy. Highly highly recommend! Thanks so much Steven!

Steven is amazing!

We cannot recommend DJ Steven enough! He has done multiple events for our family, and every single time he absolutely delivers. Most recently, he DJ’d my dad’s retirement party, and he was incredible from start to finish.

Steven is not only super talented, but also extremely communicative and easy to work with, which makes the whole planning process stress-free. What really sets him apart is his ability to read the room and seamlessly move between different crowds and music styles. He truly makes sure everyone is having a great time.

If you’re looking for a DJ who is reliable, fun, and knows how to keep the energy up, Steven is your guy. We’ll definitely be using him again!

Best DJ experience possible!!

We had DJ Steven for our LOTR wedding, and he was one of the most unexpectedly magical parts of the whole day. Not only did he hop on board with our theme, decking out himself, his booth, and getting us glow in the dark crystals, but his wife also crochet us an adorable Gandalf! The music was exactly what I asked for and he caught onto vibes immediately. My venue was somewhat notorious for being difficult to work with, but Steven put us at ease and made sure we were able to simply enjoy our day. He has a brilliant trick for getting everyone on the dance floor at the beginning of the night, and was overall just so kind, passionate, and fun. So grateful I went with this vendor, and recommended you do the same!!

Awesome mix and quality

Awesome Wedding DJ

From start to finish, DJ Steven went above and beyond to make our wedding very special. He polished some music that I recorded and couldn’t get rid of a buzzing noise. This music was used during our ceremony in the most meaningful way, and now we have an incredibly special gift that we can easily carry with us. He communicated with us clearly and set the perfect tone with excellent music choices. He even brought bubbles, which added such a fun energy to the celebration! Our guests shared many compliments of him and how much fun they had. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding, thank you DJ Steven!!!

DJ Lewis is Amazing!

DJ Lewis is amazing! He had all of our family members on the dance floor and I mean ALL! We didnt really expect our wedding to be a dancing event since most of our family are very reserved, but Lewis had some tricks up his sleeve to get everyone involved. It was such a pleasant surprise and I cannot recommend this company enough. Their software to plan the event was super helpful too! Do yourself a favor and book them!

Couldnt have been happier

Hired them for a birthday party. Didnt give them much direction as far as music selections. I believe steven was our DJs name. He was perfect. played the perfect siongs. kept people dancing all night! Could not have been happier!

Very pleased!

We hired them to do our wedding and it was a great experience. The owner was very responsive and professional and I loved their online portal - it made the planning super easy! DJ Vinnie was our DJ and we got to have a planning call with him before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page, and he asked all the right questions to make sure we were happy. Would definitely recommend and use again

Amazing service!

My wife Lexie and I contacted PDX DJ’s for their services for our wedding in September of 2023. We were told about them from a friend who works in the wedding industry and after a short discussion, we were eager to sign with them as our DJ for our wedding.
 As the wedding date grew near, we were assigned a DJ. However, after a few hiccups & an explanation of our music preference, PDX DJs switched Jesse (also known as DJ Good Things) to be our DJ for the wedding. Lexie & I had the ability to meet with Jesse via Zoom to go over what we needed the day of the wedding in terms of processional, recessional, first dance, and so on. Jesse was extremely easy to get along with and understood exactly what we needed to make our day special.

As our wedding day arrived, Jesse did an excellent job with all our DJ needs. Jesse was extremely professional, on time, and efficient. Jesse was particularly great at keeping the reception party fun and energetic by mixing our songs in a way that kept everyone dancing and engaged.

I would recommend Jesse and PDX DJs to anyone who is looking for wedding DJ services. They were super easy to work with provided an amazing experience on our wedding day.

So Much Fun!

Our Wedding would not have been nearly as fun without PDX DJs and specifically DJ Jesse! He was super organized and played all of our favorite songs! Honestly the best experience. We also had a photo booth through these guys which our friends loved! They didnt charge extra for physical prints of the photos either!

Great value, highly recommend!

The PDX DJs were so easy to work with! Everything from their flat hourly rate to their online client portal made the planning and communication process so simple. Their service package covers everything you will need, including ceremony and reception sound, uplighting, and MC services, plus setup and teardown so you don't have to worry about a thing. Our wedding was in March 2023 and went beautifully. If there is anything extra you want or need, they are flexible and want to help you make it happen! We also did the photobooth option and it was so worth it. Our guests had so much fun, plus we got to keep copies of all the photos at the end of the night. Highly recommended!

Would book this photo booth again and again! We were looking for some extra activity for guests to do during our wedding reception and decided on a photo booth. Best choice we could have made! We love the photos! Thank you PDX DJs

DJ and photo booth both perfect

Sean made getting a quote and eventually booking the services ridiculously easy! Our DJ (i think his name was Vinnie... Sorry) was awesome! He DJs on real vinyl which was a cool touch and he played all the best music. We ended up extending his services for an hour because everyone was having such a good time (which we didn't expect for some reason).

We also booked a photo booth...

Really sleek equipment which wont be a sore thumb kinda vibe at your wedding! Everyone had so much fun taking photos and we're so glad to have digital copies of everything afterwards! A cool addition to the professional photos from our photographer. These ones are a little more goofy and personal!

Photo Booth was perffect!

So glad we booked a photo booth for our party and this company was the great! Website had all information. Easy to book. Price was right. Guests loved the booth. Photos came out perfect. Attendant was super fun! Loved everything!

We only booked a photo booth through them but i'm sure their DJ services would be amazing as well!

Highly recommend PDX DJ's. They not only were great partners in planning - they were absolutely the most economical. So many DJ's we spoke to when planning our wedding were overly expensive or had hidden costs. I loved that PDX were honest and open about their pricing from the beginning. Their planning portal was very detailed - which was daunting at first - but I was so happy in the end that I was able to be so specific because that made the wedding day so easy and smooth! The DJ we had was so professional and was able to even make a few changes on the spot! I cannot recommend them enough!

Easiest DJ to Work With

We all know wedding planning is stressful, but working with PDX DJs was never a stressor. Every road block we ran into (no power at the ceremony, no wifi days before the wedding) was no problem at all for them! Sean was so easy to work with and has very through forms that help make planning and communication a breeze. We loved that their package was all inclusive and there were no add ons. Make everything so simple! Day of went perfectly and and we had a great time on the dance floor!

We had Sean as our DJ at our wedding and oh man was it a great experience! Leading up to the wedding, we had great communication. During the wedding, he was an absolute rockstar! He truly catered to our day, played the right songs at the right times, was a fantastic MC and listened to our guests requests for songs once the time to dance was on! Best DJ and Super Fun Photo Booth!

The DJ was able to roll with changes to the ceremony on the fly without creating disruptions. DJ was felt the crowd and created a great atmosphere on the dance floor. He was dancing himself! it was awesome! They provided the photo booth at out wedding as well which was a massive hit with our guests! We highly recommend hiring this company!

We hired PDX DJs for our wedding and they were the absolute best. All of our questions were addressed in a timely manner while we were planning, their service was impeccable, and their prices are reasonable. Photo Booth and DJ

Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without a photo booth from PDX DJs! Friends and family had so much fun taking crazy photos in the booth!!! So many great memories! and they sent us all of the photos afterward! Thanks for the great time PDX DJs photo booth! Our DJ was also incredible! played the best music all night, made perfect announcements! Even took charge when our planner dropped the ball on timing... Can't recommend enough!!!

We initially liked this company because of how easy to understand their pricing is! We're so glad we hired them! From the second we hired them they were our favorite vendor. Sean (the owner) always replied to emails right away and answered all of our questions. The price was comparable to all of the other companies we talked to. On the wedding day we had DJ Joshua and he was incredible! He was exactly what we had imagined for our wedding day. He was a grat MC and then kept the dance floor packed all night! Ten out of Ten for sure!

Great Company

We hire PDX DJs and Photobooth to handle just the photo booth at our wedding and we couldn't have been happier! We were on the fence about having a photo booth at our wedding because we weren't sure whether guests would use it or whether it would be tacky... well it was definitely not tacky and our guests definitely used it! All of our guests ended up in the booth at some point and we got so many amazing photos both physical copies as well as digital copies sent to us after the event! Thanks again to this company for adding and awesome piece to our wedding!

so glad we hired them. We could email or text any time of day and get a prompt response which is really helpful when you are stressed and planning a wedding. They played our favorite music and got grandma on the dance floor. I can't even think of anything else we would have wanted from our DJ! pdxdjs is so great!

Amazing During a Challenging Time

Of course this year was crazy for weddings. Very stressful having to change our date last minute and even change venues last minute. Sean with PDX DJs was amazing through all of it! He couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful! DJ Ken was our DJ and he was also incredible. Played all of our songs, did a great job making announcements. We couldn't have been happier!

Best DJ ever!

DC was our DJ and he did an amazing job! We had a pretty scripted grand entrance and he killed it, he even added a smoke machine to enhance it and our photographer, who is a well known photographer in the area said it was the best grand entrance she had ever seen... thank YOU! For having a Covid wedding, you made this very normal and fun!

They Saved Our Day!

PDX DJs saved our wedding day! We had a coordinator not show up on us which put us into a total panic. Sean from PDX DJs took control and helped with setup, coordinated the rest of the event, and MC'ed the night as well. I couldn't beleive how much he went above and beyond! All communication with them before the event was awesome too! Definitely hire this company for your wedding!

I was skeptical about hiring a DJ because I have alwaiys felt like they have somewhat of a shady reputation (maybe thats just in my head). Some of the DJs I met with before our wedding definitely lived up to this reputation... I met with Sean from PDX DJs and he seemed very genuine and honest so we decided to hire PDX DJs to DJ our wedding. We are soooooooo glad that we did!!! OMG! they were so great! After we booked and paid the deposit I was nervous that the responsiveness from Sean would go downhill as it does with some companys. I was pleasantly surprised to find that nothing changed! Sean always responds super fast to emails, texts, calls, etc. He was a great help in planning our event which was awesome! Our DJ on the actual wedding day was Vinnie and he could not have been more perfect! He is a true 'turntablist' as they call them in the industry. He live mixed all of the songs together and did a great job picking songs that our guests loved! He hosted for us also which was cool. He and our coordinator ran the whole night! I just sat back and had a good time!

If you are considering hiring a DJ for your wedding, or any other event for that matter, please do your self a favor and hire PDX DJs. You can thank me later!

OMG! They were great!

We loved Sean at PDX DJs! We hired them to DJ our wedding and Erron our DJ was fantastic!

Sean always got back to us quickly to answer our hundreds of questions leading up the the event. He helped us make a timeline that made sense too.

Erron was extremely personable and did a great job on the microphone. Then when it came time to dance he had everyone out there from beginning to end of the night!

They're the best

We planned our wedding long distance from San Diego, CA which was very stressful, however Sean and his team made at least this portion of the planning completely seamless! Any time I emailed to ask a question I got a response immediately! Our DJ, Vinnie, was incredible also. He kept the dance floor full all night. I've gotten so many compliments from friends about the DJ.

We hired Vinnie at PDX DJs DJs for our wedding reception and I can’t say enough good things about him. What an awesome person!!! When I started the wedding planning process I had no idea just how big of a difference a DJ can make at ensuring the entire wedding day runs smoothly. Vinnie went above and beyond as our MC, our DJ, and undercover coordinator making sure our ceremony and reception was everything we wanted it to be and then some. Sean (owner) is amazing at communicating via email, answering questions, accommodating requests, and trying to understand the vision you have for your day. And thats the best you can ask for in my opinion! Vinnie definitely thought our guests were completely out of control and some of our song requests were so ridiculous, but he kept the dance floor rockin' and rolled with it. And I am forever thankful for that. It was the highlight of our wedding and truly the time of our lives thanks to PDX DJs.

From the very start, Sean was so professional and helpful. Music was a very important part of my wedding day, so I wanted to be sure I had a great DJ. Ty was our DJ for the evening, and he was absolutely wonderful! He was very professional, friendly and the music was fantastic. He played all of the songs I requested and did a great job of filling in the rest. He made the day so smooth and nearly stress-free by handling all of the timeline logistics. I would highly recommend PDX DJ’s. They recently DJ’d our wedding in the St Paul area and it was absolutely perfect. Sean is extremely helpful and communicates very well as the planning is going. Stephen was our DJ for the night and he was amazing. He was early to the event, followed our plan well, and kept people engaged and dancing all night. All the equipment worked well and there were no issues at all. Stephen adapted well even when we fell behind in some planning prior to the wedding. Can’t thank them enough for their work.

Sean at PDX DJ’s was an amazing choice. He was incredibly helpful, responsive, and flexible throughout all the wedding planning and even came to our venue walkthrough a month prior. Pricing was very transparent and probably the most reasonable out of several places I looked at. They also had an option for a photo booth that was quite cheap and the photo booth was a hit.
I was very happy with the day of DJ too (Sean has a team of DJ’s). The DJ called me up the week before and we chatted about expectations and requests which was very helpful. During that wedding he played great music so the dance floor was popping and was a great MC as well.

PDX DJ's is the way to go if you're wanting a DJ for your wedding reception! Sean (owner) is incredibly responsive to all emails, questions, and requests about your event. Their online portal makes it super easy to select what songs you really want played, as well as some you don't want to hear. Pricing is very affordable compared to a lot of DJ's I found for planning our wedding. DJ Lewis was AWESOME. Not only did he play amazing music, take requests from the crowd, and let us sing karaoke, but he was an incredible MC. He made it a point to communicate with my husband and myself about timing, introductions, dances, etc. We were waiting for the wedding party to be introduced and he ran over to let us know that people were still getting drinks from the bar and as soon as everyone got back to their tables we would start-such a rockstar! His personality added a lot to our reception and for weeks following the wedding were hearing from guests how much fun they had and how great Lewis was. 10/10 would recommend DJ Lewis and PDX DJ's for any event! Thank you again!!

PDX DJ's killed it! We have a pretty eclectic taste in music and our Dj the day of did an amazing job of balancing everything out. He kept the night running smoothly and paid attention to things we didn't even notice, like the two elk that wanted to join the party. Our guests were able to watch them run across the land in front of our reception and our photographer snapped some beautiful pictures! We also loved that there was an online portal to plan the music we wanted (and didn't want) and our timeline. PDX DJ's made everything so easy! We highly recommend them!

Both Sean, and Vinnie, our actual DJ during the event, were professional, fast to respond, and made our wedding day easier. Vinnie quickly moved all his equipment inside due to weather, and still brought a really fun party in the short time we had for dancing. His announcements were fun but not annoying, he didn't mispronounce anyone's name, and his timing was impeccable. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!

This company truly bends over backward for their clients! We had some seriously off the wall requests and PDX DJs had absolutely no problem handling each and every one of them. We also needed sound in 3 separate areas of the venue. They were happy to provide this for us at no additional cost! Its all included! WHAT?!? Maybe I had just become numb to being nickel and dimed to death by other vendors but this blew me away! We also booked a photo booth through them which was super fun and very reasonably priced.

Our DJ was also fabulous! They custom picked a DJ for us based on our preferences, taste in music, etc. They nailed it! He was there early to set up, played amazing music all night and kept the dance floor FULL! He also made announcements and helped us keep to the schedule. Overall, I would give them 10 stars if I could! HIRE THEM!

PDX DJs could not have been more perfect for our big day! Sean was always extremely responsive during the initial booking process. The 'Client Portal' that they use for planning events is an awesome tool that helps you sort out every detail of your event so that you and your DJ are on the same page.

On our wedding day, PDX DJs was there early to set up, they even offered to help with setting up tables and chairs since we were behind schedule. They did an outstanding job at making announcements and keeping the party going. They played all the best music and kept the dance floor full despite the fact that our friends and family typically are not big dancers.

Overall, PDX DJs was the absolute best service we could imagine and they do it for a much lower and simpler price than most of their competition.

Ty was the DJ for our wedding and he did a fantastic job! He called a couple days before to go over all the small details and verify all the song choices/other preferences. He did great with all the cues and announcements, and kept everyone on the dance floor for hours. They were very reasonably priced, without sacrificing quality. Definitely recommend!

Talked to me for about an hour the day before my wedding, to get to know the atmosphere and song list. Very cool guy! Wireless mic didn't work very well during ceremony, but we were out in the woods a bit.

My husband and I had a great experience with PDX DJs! They were very accommodating when we asked for specific songs that we'd like played and bought them free of charge to us. Sean was very responsive to any questions that we had and responded in a timely manner. PDX Dj's was the absolute best! I never write reviews but I felt compelled to do so becuase our wedding would not have been the same without Michael our DJ. From the start PDX DJ's was very helpful and responsive to questions, and even helped us figure out our vision for the ceremony and reception. The sound equipment they use and provide is top notch. Michael, was the DJ for our wedding and boy was he crowd pleaser! We could not have been more happy with our choice to use PDX DJ. I hope to have Michael and PDX DJ back for events in the future.

These guys were incredible! I always had a response to any question the same day I asked it, and EVERYONE had so much fun at our wedding! Lewis kept the music upbeat and gave us a wide range of genre's so that everyone was able to dance and have a good time, even my aunts and uncles that claim to NEVER dance at weddings! It's a great bang for your buck. Plus, I had live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour that they helped get set up and made sure ran smoothly. Hire them!

Working with PDX DJ's was an extremely smooth and professional process. We were in need of some music for our grand opening of a new housing development and with giving them a genre of music and inform them type of event, they were able to set the mood and make for a fun evening. We had a Hawaiian themed event and he nailed it with all the music he played. We had an amazing night! Everything went off without a hitch! His timing was perfect. Michael was awesome! We were very happy with everything he played.

I would not look anywhere else. PDX DJs are experienced professionals and very responsive. They even went above and beyond by arriving early the day of the wedding and offering to help the wedding planner with any additional setup support. PDX DJs made our wedding day fabulous and listened to our music request. They even took the time to meet with us prior to get to know us better and our style of music. We even had a last minute first dance music change just hours before the wedding and PDX DJs didn't even flinch.

We worked with Sean at PDX DJ's and he was such a breath of fresh air. He did everything we asked and went above and beyond. He was incredibly professional, timely, and engaged with the audience just enough to help the night along without stealing the show. We has some odd, special song requests and he made every bit of it happen without batting an eye. Highly Recommend!

Sean did an absolute phenomenal job! All the guests were having such an excellent job! He did a great job checking in prior to the wedding and was incredibly easy and open when it came to making suggestions or changing things.

If I could I would have given him 10 stars because everyone raved about what an excellent dj he was!

Sean was the best dj he played the best songs, paid attention to what was going on and had songs ready for entry cake cutting 1st dances. I had him do a Mashup for the wedding isle intro it was perfect. The communication was perfect before the wedding, he emailed and was available by phone all the time. It was the service I was not worried about in the big day. It was beyond perfect!!

PDX DJs were incredible to work with. The owner, Sean, is very responsive and helpful. The online portal for clients makes planning the music and timeline for your wedding a breeze. Our DJ was incredibly helpful. He worked with me to make sure the night ran smoothly. He read the crowd very well and played music that got everyone out and dancing. I would totally recommend PDX DJs if you’re looking for a great DJ.

Sean who organized it all, did great at communicating and always keeping in touch. Was more than happy to accommodate us on a last minute song change. Michael who was our Dj, did great! He was a blast! Very energetic and a great entertainer. Took song requests and played off of a list that we gave him ahead of time as well as getting even the little ones involved. He helped with cueing when things were going to start and when we were going to transition to the next, all around it went very smooth and my husband and I were very satisfied.

PDX DJs is a very professional organization to work with. I think Sean does a good job with his organization of the business and his communication. DJ Stephen was very accommodating and so affable! I appreciated getting to speak to him for a conversation to prep before our wedding. He had some great music mixes. The volume and overall thump of the music could have been better for an outdoor wedding, which is the only reason we don't give a full five stars, but otherwise PDX DJs fit our needs.

Uncomfortable Experience

The bride was called Elizabeth twice, her name is Alexis, she had to tell the DJ her name. The wrong song was played for the daughter/stepfather dance, the words were uncomfortable in this situation (save the last dance for me) which was suppose to be the final song for the bride/groom dance. The bride stopped the dance and notified the DJ, the chosen song wasn't on the selected playlist. Overall, the photo booth was a lot of fun.

Awkward dance party

Apparently my review never posted to the wedding wire page, but I was prompted to check after being reminded of how bad our wedding DJ experience was tonight when a friend asked "wait, we're allowed to laugh at how bad your dj was now, right?" Two years later, this is what people remember about our wedding. How mortifying.

We hired PDX DJs for our wedding after our first choice was booked before we were able to book him. PDX DJs prices were reasonable and it sounded like they'd be flexible with multiple locations for the ceremony, dinner and dancing. This was accurate, as promised.

First thing, I was not a fan of was the online portal where we were told to input all of our wedding information - timeline, songs, Do Not Play list, etc. The system is antiquated and there are too many places to input the same information, which lead to our DJ emailing us with clarifications the MORNING OF our wedding. Also, not many of the songs we requested showed up in the online request page, so we had to manually input most of them.

I do not like that we did not find out who our DJ was going to be until a month before our wedding. I was traveling for work at the time, so by the time we were able to have a call with our assigned DJ, DJ Lewis, it was a week before our online portal closed for requests.

We had a feeling after speaking with DJ Lewis that we had different tastes in music and expectations for how a wedding DJ should operate. Unfortunately, we had to make the best of the situation due to the limited time remaining before our wedding.

Lewis did not know what the Bossa Nova genre of music was, which was our request for dinner music, so we had to manually input many songs into the portal to make it clear what style we were going for. We made it very clear when speaking to the owner that we wanted a behind the scenes DJ who can mix great music, keep people on the dance floor, and keep the timeline moving smoothly. He assured us that was how all of his DJs operated. We had to decline most of Lewis's suggestions for how to get people on the dance floor, such as having a dance-off to a song we hardly know, having one of our guests karaoke to Journey, and to not call all couples to the dance floor for a slow dance after our first dances. He still did the latter, which wouldn't have been that bad, except that he played a terrible song that was by an artist on our Do Not Play list.

In general, Lewis's DJing throughout the night wasn't great. He seemed like a very nice guy, but his references were dated. He repeatedly shouted "who here went to college???" Before playing a song that had nothing to do with college, or at least not related to the generation that most of our friends or family attended college. He started playing the wrong song for our first dance song, and after the awkward couples dance, played 3 or 4 of our dedication songs in a row, even though they clearly did not mesh together and would have worked much better later into the night. I actually had to go up to him and tell him to please not play all of our requests one after the other.

Finally, there were times when his mixing was bad. The kind of bad where everyone would stop dancing to try and figure out what sort of beat was being mixed in.

In the end, more people danced as the night went on, he played most of the songs that people requested in person (thank goodness) and I think most people just laughed at his ridiculous commentary. He generally played good music during the cocktail hour and dinner. I am probably the most critical of it all because I was so involved in the planning of what we did and did not want him to play or say. For a different couple, he might be the perfect match.

Would we hire PDX DJs again if we had to do it all over? Nope.

DJ Erron: Bad... Photo Booth: Excellent!

Sean, the owner of PDX DJs, was very communicative and easy to work with. I was told during our initial meeting that he was not going to be the actual DJ for our wedding, but that he had a list of DJ’s that he contracts with and he would pair us up with our best fit. SEAN CHOSE POORLY!

Here is the snapshot of our terrible experience with DJ Erron:
1. No response until 6 days before the wedding.
2. Said he understood when he didn’t.
3. Played songs on the “Do Not Playlist” and did NOT play requested music.
4. Stopped the music (multiple times) in the middle of dancing.
5. Got drunk on the job.

DJ Erron is a very friendly guy over the phone and even in person, but he was a complete let down at our event. If you would like more details, please continue reading…

1. No response until 6 days before the wedding.
-I emailed DJ Erron 20 days prior to the event to touch base as I had not received any communication from him yet regarding my event. There was no response until I sent a second email 7 days prior to the wedding to ask if he received the first. He said he had and was super busy with a 400 person wedding and he would contact me the Monday before my wedding at 5pm. DJ Erron ended up calling a half an hour later than our scheduled phone meeting after I sent emails asking if he was still planning on it.

2. Said he understood when he didn’t.
-DJ Erron did announce the table dismissals for dinner and the shoe game appropriately, however, he was a train wreck for the rest of the evening. After an embarrassing amount of listening to him fumble through explanations of activities, a mother of a friend and I ended up taking the microphone and emceeing OURSELVES. I totally understand there are a lot of elements to weddings, but don’t lie and say you know what something is and then tell me you don’t know what it is once its supposed to be happening. For example, I asked DJ Erron if he had done an anniversary dance before instead of a bouquet toss. He said that he was a well seasoned DJ and knew just what to do. However, during our event he pulled me (the bride) aside and told me he had no idea what an anniversary dance was. There was no excuse for him not to have asked for clarification sooner as it was on every version of the timeline (both paper and digital) he had received weeks before the wedding or to have simply answered honestly when I asked him if he knew what an anniversary dance was during our phone meeting a week prior.

3. Played songs on the “Do Not Playlist” and did NOT play requested music.
-During our phone meeting, we went over the details of the event. I had already sent him a copy of my timeline for the day, a list of names and important songs we wanted to feature. I sent him digital files of music performed by a famous family musician that we requested be played during cocktail hour. He said this was “no problem.” It was important to me and my family to have these 5 songs played as this performer had recently passed away. DJ Erron confirmed that he received our special digital files and they were in working order. HE NEVER PLAYED THOSE SONGS. We were very disappointed.
-DJ Erron also played songs my husband and I had put on the DO NOT PLAY LIST. During our phone meeting I also told him after cake cutting we wanted to make an announcement that we were ending the traditional portion of the reception and were going to kick the party up a notch to include more current club music. He said again, that this would be not problem as he spent his time when he wasn’t doing weddings as a DJ for various clubs around Portland. Come the day of the event… no announcement… no dance club music. He literally just put songs in a list and let them play… I could’ve done that myself with Spotify and saved a bunch of money.

4. Stopped the music (multiple times) in the middle of dancing.
-There were many awkward pauses were he actually stopped the music while people were dancing! The worst was I was taking a photo with my bridesmaids in the Photo Booth and a random N’SYNC song came on and he decided to stop everything until I finished in the photo booth and then play the song. Guests were left of the dance floor without sound not just this once, but multiple times over the course of the evening. As a DJ you have one job… KEEP THE PARTY GOING!

5. Got drunk on the job.
-DJ Erron smelled strongly of alcohol while conversing with guests and members of my family. We had an open bar at our reception for guests. By the end of the night it was apparent to all that DJ Erron was not behaving in a professional manner, due to his alcohol consumption, as he slurred his words and appeared to be drunk while he was supposed to be WORKING.

PDX DJs was not represented well by DJ Erron. If you choose to book with this company, request NOT to be paired with DJ Erron. I cannot speak for the other DJs that Sean works with, however, the company does provide an amazing Photo Booth experience with an attendant that did a wonderful job! If I could give the photo booth 5 stars on it’s own I would!!!
