My fiancé and I decided that we wanted something a little bit different for our cake topper for our wedding. Seeing Little Big Plant has a special meaning for us, I started googling Little Big Planet cake toppers and found that the best ones around were made by Paul.

I contacted Paul to get a ball park figure of what the shipping would be (we are in Australia) and how long our topper would take to make. Paul was very easy to get along with and put no pressure on us to order with him. When we decided that the budget could include the topper, it was full steam ahead. Paul made changes to our sketch into the wee small hours while I was emailing him in the middle of the day here.

I was so excited when our topper shipped and when I saw the pictures of it on Paul's blog (my fiancé isn't allowed to look because Paul has done a wonderful job of recreating my wedding dress!!). But that excitement was nothing to what it was like to open the box (that took less than a week to get here - woohoo!!!) and see our beautiful toppers which are so so so much better than we could ever have hoped for.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul to other brides and grooms. Our cake topper will end up sitting in pride of place after our day is long over to remind us of what a wonderful day we had.

Paul made the most amazing wedding topper for our cake. I saw his work on twitter about a year before our engagement and bookmarked his site for when I finally needed a cake topper. We ordered the Mjj topper with our clothing customized to our dress and suit. They turned out great! I even made a small mistake (my mistake ENTIRELY) and sent the wrong eye color for my figure and Paul offered to fix it if I sent the topper back. We didn't have time to get it back to him so he gave me instructions on how to fix it myself. Overall, his work and customer service were both AMAZING. I highly recommend his work!

Paul created a stunningly accurate cake topper of my future groom and I for our wedding cake. Paul was so awesome! I will never be able to find the words to express how impressed I was with the cake topper that he had made for us. He made an Xbox avatar cake topper. He personalized it to the T! My dress, jewelry, hair… it all looked identical to what I looked like! When first saw the pricing, I thought it was a little much. But once I received the topper.. WOW. I would pay it again... easy!! I will definitely recommend Paul to anyone I know. He does amazing work and has great customer service. He responded to every one of my emails within minutes. Not to mention, my now husband LOVES it. I surprised him with it on the wedding day. Even days after our wedding (yes.. on our honeymoon) he was talking about how awesome the cake topper was. This review is about the excellent cake toppers that Paul Pape Designs created for the wedding of my wife and me, on July 27, 2013. For starters, the overall quality of service that Paul provided was outstanding. From first contacting him about his talent and how much he charges to ensuring that our finished product was shipped to us safely and in a timely manner...Mr. Pape was truly on top of things.

Every e-mail between us was professionally handled and prompt in response. Paul was very clear with Kim and I, each step of the way. We wanted our cake toppers to reflect our Nintendo Mii characters and done so in our wedding attire, so PPD requested us take pictures of our likenesses on screen, give him the pose we want, and even present images of our actual wedding dress and tuxedo (for Kim and I respectively).

The attention to detail in the final product was truly awesome. Kim's real wedding dress was perfectly replicated in Mii cake topper form, as was my tuxedo. Even our wedding colors of purple and blue were splashed elegantly on the ceramic heart that our Miis stood on.

The whole product now sits in our living room, in front of our TV, and will forever be a truly unique, memorable addition to our very special wedding day. We got a high quality product for a very affordable, completely deserving price. Oh...and everyone at our wedding thought the piece that Paul created was just adorable and the amount of pictures that were taken of it was great to see.

I am very pleased with the service I received from Paul. He was easy to communicate with and responded to my questions in a timely fashion. I ordered a custom LittleBigPlanet cake topper from him, which is perfect for me and my fiance as we are both huge fans of the video game. The personalization and little details make it stand out. It matches the characters in the game pretty well and is overall a good quality product. I cannot begin to express how excited I am to have found Paul's work. We received our cake topper last week and it is fantastic! The attention to detail is amazing- I sent Paul photos of my dress and he was able to replicate the dress exactly onto the cake topper, right down to the fabric texture differences. It was amazing to see a Little Big Planet person wearing my dress! Paul was wonderful to work with, very responsive to our requests, and completed the order very quickly. Paul is a creative genius. My fiance and I love video games and really wanted to incorporate a piece of that into our wedding. We ordered one of his famous cake toppers and were not disappointed. This was a wonderful experience. Planning my wedding was extremely stressful and it was refreshing to have something go so smoothly. Paul was extremely helpful and flexible. If you can afford the deluxe cake topper (they are a little expensive) it is certainly worth it, especially since it comes with a lifetime warranty, and the quality is excellent.

My fiance and I wanted at least one unique, whimsical, non-traditional item in our otherwise traditional wedding. After much searching, we finally found exactly what we wanted: a custom "Mii" cake topper by Paul Pape Designs. Paul was great -- he requested lots of photos and asked the right questions to make sure he created exactly the piece we wanted! He even incorporated little custom touches, like the detailing on my dress and the bouquet of daisies, as well as placing a little custom figurine of our pet dog for a small fee. The price was a bit steep at $350, but the quality of work was FANTASTIC and this will be a treasured keepsake for us for many years to come. Thanks Paul!

i commissioned a couples carbonite as a surprise gift for my husband on our wedding day. my husband is a huuuge star wars geek and i knew he would flip over this.

i worked with paul via email -- he was so helpful and so quick to respond. i had waited until the last minute, and paul saved me by creating this in just a couple of days! i sent a few pics, one of me in my wedding dress... and what he made is simply amazing. the detail and likeness is unreal.

needless to say, my husband was over the moon with the gift -- and ran around the entire reception showing it to everyone he could find.

i'm already thinking of what i can get from paul next!!

I ordered a mii cake topper from Paul Pape, and it was just perfect. I knew I wanted a cake topper from Paul before we even picked a venue or caterer, so I ordered from him super early. I emailed him as I got more details (my dress, his tux, the pose we wanted) and the result was spot on! His email replies were lightning fast (sometimes within an hour).

Paul is a true artist. He makes more than just mii toppers. He makes other sculptures, so I would definitely suggest him for other cake toppers as well.

When I got the cake topper, I was at first worried about it being heavy, but because the base is so wide, the cake (my cake was considered a "wimpy" cake because it was covered in whipped cream instead of regular cake frosting) was able to easily hold the topper with no additional support.

Now, our cake topper sits on our dresser and it's a beautiful addition to our room. It's 1000% worth the money.

In a case of need and a very short time frame Paul Pape managed do fulfill my expectations 101%. We had found Paul searching for unique and geeky cake toppers. We had saw his examples on his page and with only two months left until our wedding date, we were definitely pushing our deadline. Communication with Paul was very prompt; he was able to get back to us within the day every time. He worked things around and was able to get our cake topper made in a few weeks. Shipping was next day, and arrived exactly on time, on a Saturday.

Our cake topper was in attendance for our wedding in Maui and a wedding reception in California. It had survived the round trip flights, but did not survive our guests when they decided to play with the cake topper (the brim of the hat which the character is wearing broke). Without hesitation Paul said he would fix it and ship it back free of charge; he offered a lifetime warranty for us. Its on his way to him now for repairs, but as soon as it gets back it will be permanently encased in a glass case.

The cake topper was a great conversation piece; everyone commented on how cute it was. It was amazing how well Paul was able to capture the spirit of the characters in their pose. The price is going to be more than what a generic cake topper costs, but it is an item which my wife and I are going to value and cherish as a keepsake for a very long time.

If you are looking for a creative, one of a kind item for your wedding I would highly recommend Paul. He has been a pleasure to work with and have been more than accommodating of our circumstances.

Paul Pape made my custom Mii cake topper, which I was so excited about! When I found him online, I knew the cake topper would be my big splurge. He is awesome to work with, very accommodating of requests, and extremely responsive. I don't think I ever waited more than a couple of hours for an email response from him, and he seemed very happy to work with my customization ideas. The cake toppers are pricey; but I was more than happy to pay for one that was exactly what I wanted, completely customized (with my gown and flowers, his tux and shoes, etc.), and worth keeping forever. And he'll repair any damage if you just ship it back to him. All this, and he seems to have a sense of humor too!! I would recommend him to anyone.

Of all of the millions and trillions and kabillions of things I planned for our wedding, all the tiny little ideas I researched and the things I obsessed about and the details I imagined... the cake topper that Paul Pape did was one of my absolute favorite details. I was more excited about these then about almost anything else, and with good reason, because they came out absolutely perfect.

He did a custom sculpture of our Xbox avatars, and they were absolutely AMAZING. He will actually look at photos of your dress and custom-make a version of your avatar WITH your dress... and his attention to detail was unreal. They look like us (or like our avatars) and our outfits look EXACTLY right! He also offers a lifetime warranty, so when my poor avatar's arm cracked sometime during the post-ceremony pack-up, we just sent the figure back and he fixed it, free of charge. Incredible customer service, and a super nice guy to boot.

And most of all... yeah, so, our avatar sculpture toppers.... I LOVED THEM! Have I mentioned I love them? They are an amazing keepsake, and are now (3 months after the wedding) prominently displayed in our living room, where they will be for years to come. Thank you so much Paul!

Paul created the Mii wedding cake topper for my wedding. The cake topper truly was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. The quality of craftsmanship and creativity in the topper went far above my expectations. The topper arrived (very carefully packed) exactly on time and was a highlight of the wedding. Paul was amazing to work with! He created a custom cake topper for our wedding, based on our Mii caricatures. We ordered a Mii cake topper from Paul for our wedding cake. I requested the topper a few months in advance, and I received it a full 2 months before the wedding date! The topper turned out AMAZING, and I couldn't be happier! We ordered a custom Mii topper, so we were able to customize both the dress on the bride and the tux on the groom. The attention to detail on the dress was outstanding, and it looked like an exact replica! Paul even emailed me a couple times to verify that all the details I had requested were correct, which they were. I never doubted his reliability, which is very important when dealing with vendors for your big day. Everyone commented on how adorable it is and asked how I found the service. I ordered a custom piece as a gift for my husband and I could not be more pleased with the experience and result. Mr. Pape is wonderful to work with, always prompt with responses to questions, and was attentive to my concept and image of what the piece would be. He made every effort to ensure that the final piece reflected what I envisioned. Additionally, he provides a lifetime guarantee on his work and really seems to care about the pieces and his customers, going the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service. My piece incurred some damage during shipment and as soon as I made Mr. Pape aware of this, without hesitation, he told me I could send it back to him for repairs. Furthermore, he is an incredible artist - his work is fantastic, and I could not be happier with piece. I would recommend him to anyone looking for custom work of this type!

Paul is one of a kind. He can do and create anything you could ever think of. This guy knows no bounds! My fiancé and I are hardcore gamers and I searched high and low forever for someone or somewhere that offered unique and cool gamer themed gift ideas for our wedding. All I found was cheap looking crap. It was all so unimaginative and not necessarily good for a wedding. Then I stumbled upon Paul… seriously, if you can imagine it, he can create it. And for us, he DID!

We had Paul make a wedding topper replicating our Mii’s, which look exactly like them to a T. Paul will do whatever you want and make them to any specifications you desire (how you want to be posed, what you want written on the base, etc.), right down to what you want to hold (if anything) in your and/or your fiancé’s hand. The personalization is always a nice touch and I highly recommend doing it. He doesn’t charge extra for that either, btw. We sent him pictures of our wedding attire b/c we wanted our Mii’s dressed in what we were married in and he got it spot on. Amazing!

He also made our wedding favors. He made chocolate molds out of our mii’s (you choose if you want dark or milk chocolate) and put them in a Wii replica box with our mii’s inside. Paul sent us samples of the chocolates in advance so we could try them and decide which kind we liked best! The chocolate is really good quality and is delicious – no cheap stuff here.

The Wii box that the chocolate mii’s come in – omg, it is beyond impressive!!! The details are all there, right down to the angles of the Wii box (or as he puts it, to protect the copyright on Wii, “Wjj”). His prices are great and once you learn what his process is and what it takes for him to create these original designs, you’ll be even more impressed. He constructs everything by hand. I've read a few reviews where some people say that the wedding toppers are a bit pricey and I don't understand that. He constructs them starting from a single wire that he shapes then he molds on top of that! Once you see them and know the kind of work and detail that goes into it, it's a darn fair price. He also has a lifetime warranty on them so if they chip, break, baby chews on it, you drop it, or your husband mistakes it for a football, you can send it back to Paul and he'll do all repairs and fixes for free.

His customer service is amazing, too, and he will do anything he can to make it as easy peasy as possible. He was always quick to respond to emails and he totally worked within our budget. I highly recommend him and will most definitely use his services again when the need arises. There is nobody around like this guy. Trust me, I've looked!

The only word I could think of to describe our Mii Cake Topper is...Amazing! It was so nice working with Paul. His attention to detail is just so incredible - from my dress, bouquet, even down to my husband's boutonnière on our Miis was PERFECT! I asked Paul if he could have my cake topper Miis done for my wedding in three weeks. Not only did he have it done in a week and a half, but he also answered all sorts of random questions I had, and was an utter professional. And the topper was AMAZING! My dress is a dead-on replica, and my little Mii groom looks wonderful in his tiny tux. I can't wait for all the guests to see Paul's handiwork. My fiance and I ordered Paul's custom Mii cake topper and we LOVE it!

Paul was great to work with - he got back to us very quickly regarding all of our questions. Even before we made the decision to purchase the topper, Paul was willing to answer all of our questions and work with us to find the best topper to fit our wedding.

We were extremely impressed with Paul's professionalism and speedy processing of our order, and everything was shipped to us exactly as planned. We got our topper in plenty of time for our June 12 wedding.

The thing that impressed us the most, however, about our order, was the quality of the product we received. The features from our Miis were translated perfectly onto the cake topper figures - they look just like us! Paul's attention to detail was perfect - the dress and tux are spot on.

I'm so excited to have all of our wedding guests see our Deluxe Mii Cake Topper at our reception next weekend. I'm more excited, though, for my fiance to see it. So far, he's only been allowed to see his "half" of the topper. He doesn't know what my dress looks like and I don't want to spoil the surprise! Purchased a unique Cake Topper from Paul Pape Designs, we were VERY satisfied with the piece. It was ten times better than the sample versions on his website look. They have just such a great solid feel, look so sharp, and really had just a great mix of style and humor at the same time. The piece also now looks beatiful displayed in our apartment. If you are thinking about using his work for your wedding cake, I say absolutley go for it. For the price you pay, you are really left with something one-of-a-kind. Our guests all thought it was the cutest and coolest.
And also, dealing with Paul was great, he was very proffessional and very prompt in both his work and his replys back to me. It's amazing he was able to pull of such a great piece in the limited time I gave him.

The Mii toppers are awesome!! They came out just like the Our Mii's on our Nintendo Wii. The detail of the Tux was Great, unfortunately I didn't get to see my Fiance's yet because she has the detailed Dress and that would have given the element of surprise away. We absolutely loved our avatar cake topper! Gaming is a common interest for us, so we were so excited to find someone who could create a wedding cake topper from our gaming avatars.

Paul was great to work with and prompt with all communication via email. He responded to all of our questions, met his production date and delivered our topper as promised with plenty of time before our wedding.

The detail in the figures is spectacular, even down to the detail of the attire. It was a huge hit with the people at our wedding, especially the ones we game with who recognized the characters. In addition, the way that the pieces are made make them a great keepsake to put on a display shelf.

We thought the price was a bit high when we first ordered, but when we got the finished product and saw the detail and saw how our guests responded to it, it was worth every penny.

I ordered a cake topper for my wedding cake from Paul Pape this past August for an October wedding. Paul immediately emailed with a timeline of when he would start working on the topper and when it would be shipped. The cake topper arrived exactly when he said it would and was packaged very carefully. Paul responded incredibly fast to any questions I had and when he told me about the lifetime warranty on the cake topper, I knew how strongly he stands behind his products and service. The lifetime warranty was more than I expected and made me realize that every penny spent on the topper was worthwhile.

The cake topper itself is honestly the most amazing thing I?ve ever seen. Paul captured every detail from the pictures I sent him. I?ve taken so long to write this review just because I don?t have the words to describe how happy it made me when I first took it out of the box. Just to give an idea of how these cake toppers make all who see them feel, when I showed my mom, sisters, and friends, everyone had the same reaction: they all giggled with such joy that I knew that this cake topper would be a part of not just my wedding day, but something that everyone who saw it will remember for a long time. Paul is the most talented, creative artist I've ever seen. He puts his heart into the cake toppers and makes them look perfect (like a reflection of the real person). At my wedding, not only my husband and I were touched but our family and friends were in awe of how he can create such an unique piece that means so much. Then he made a topper for my in-laws for their 50th Golden Anniversary and again it was a master piece.

We ordered wedding cake toppers from Paul Pape Designs, which were original sculptures based on our X-box Avatar Characters dressed in our actual wedding garments. These sculptures are inventive and delightful, the level of artistry is extremely high, and they put a smile on anyone's face who sees them. They are one of our most precious mementos of our wedding day.

I am also very impressed with how professional, courteous, and diligent Paul Pape is. In addition to being a fabulous artist, he is also wonderful to work with and offers an excellent level of support and service to his clients. Paul was great at so many things - from communicating nearly instantly over email to a fast turn-around time to a lifetime guarantee on even accidental breakage, Paul has been great! Our resort actually broke the toppers while we were in Mexico, and Paul fixed them for free (even after I told him hey - feel free to bill the resort for damages).

We highly recommend Paul's work for all your cake-topping needs!

Paul created a one of a kind cake topper for our wedding reception. My fiance and I are HUGE fans of the Thrilling Adventure Hour and Paul worked tirelessly with us to provide us a cake topper based on two of the characters in the show. My LBP wedding cake topper was the cutest thing I have ever laid eyes on. If you're a bride that's a little geeky, nerdy, or looking for something unique this is the way to go. He is very professional and considering all of our conversations took place via email, I couldn't of asked for more. There were only a couple of things that tweaked my beak, but not enough to break the deal. I asked for a light green base and it came back white and I can see nail impressions in the brides eyes. But like I said this fit my wedding perfectly and it was such a huge hit, I wouldn't change it.

Paul was wonderful! He worked with me when we tweaked our figures just a bit. He was timely, understanding and is truly talented! Planning for your wedding can be such a stressful time, and he was always nice, understanding and responsive. He was even able to respond to with in minutes while we were meeting with the cake decorator and needed size dimensions. Our delivery was on time and looks FABULOUS!! We liked him so much that my husband ordered a Christmas ornament from him for our first Christmas. You will not be disappointed!

Paul's Mii wedding toppers are FANTASTIC!! They look exactly like our Mii's and the detail on our wedding outfits was amazing. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Super responsive over email, and was very quick to offer to fix our toppers, which had been slightly damaged in the shipping process. The toppers got so many compliments at our wedding. I'm so glad we got them, even though it took a decent size chunk out of our budget. They are truly a lifetime keepsake and souvenir!

"I ordered my wedding topper on March 15th. I received it on March 27th. Paul was incredibly nice and very understanding when I ordered this pretty much last minute. He was even thoughtful enough to send this to me 3 weeks before my wedding date so I wouldn't get stressed out about it! :) I'm so excited to put this on top of my cake and then to put this on my mantle at home.

We decided to get a Mii wedding topper because my fiance's mii really looks like him and thought that this would be a good nod to Nintendo since we love to play on the Wii during our down time.

If you have a unique wedding topper use Paul!

My fiance and I were looking for a unique wedding cake topper that still represented us. We weren't disappointed! Paul Pape did a fantastic job on our MIIs. We absolutely love them. We would definitely recommend Paul Pape designs if you're looking for a fun and unique wedding cake topper that everyone will be talking about..... in a good way :)

I ordered 9 standard Mii characters and one deluxe cake topper for my wedding and I could not be happier with our order. The service was excellent as any questions were answered promptly and sufficiently. In addition, he was able to create all of these under a compressed deadline with no compromises on the great quality.

The bridal party absolutely loved their Mii's and we all had a lot of fun with them. I highly recommend Paul Pape Designs for any and all occasions. His work is absolutely excellent, particularly the detail in the custom designs.

I ordered a custom cake topper from Paul based on our avatars from Xbox Live. He was extremely professional, and the product was amazing! I would've given him a perfect score, but the topper was a little pricey...understandable considering all the work he puts in (and it has a lifetime guarantee!) but it still took a good chunk out of my wallet! Totally worth it though!

Paul created a cake topper based off a comic book topper for us and did an AMAZING job. I didn't know what to expect since he was creating a sculpture based off a picture and the final product was perfect. He was incredibly responsive to all of my emails and he lets you know exactly how long everything will take, gives you updates on his progress and has wonderful customer service. The product is worth the price since he is making one of a kind custom items for you and you can treasure them for a lifetime

I ordered a custom cake topper from Paul Pape a few months before my wedding. He was very clear on what he needed and after I sent him the photos he followed up to make sure he had everything right.

Paul was great to work with, and he did an amazing job. The cake-topper I ordered was a surprise gift for my wife, and loved it so much she cried.

Everyone at the wedding was asking about the cake-topper, and they were all impressed with the way it came out.

I would recommend Paul Pape Designs to anyone needing a wedding cake-topper.

Cake toppers were costly but completely worth it. The detail and craftsmanship was incredible. Plus, these toppers are something that you can hold onto for years to come. It really helped make my wedding that much more personal which was our main goal. We loved them.

Paul Pape designed a one of a kind unique cake topper for our wedding cake. It was exactly what we wanted. Working with him on this was so effortless and pleasant, that in conversation with him it came up that he could also design our wedding favors. He designed chocolate molds of us that matched our cake topper. And then worked with a vendor to produce approx. 200 pairs of the chocolate figures. They looked and tasted fantastic and were such a hit at the wedding!

Only thing I have to deduct points for was that there were some issues with shipping and handling. But Paul is such a step-up guy, he worked to correct the situation immediately to make sure we got what we wanted. And I believe that he has even made adjustments to his shipping method to correct any future issues, having learned from the experience we went through.

Bottom line is that Paul Pape really made my wedding day a wonderful and original experience for everyone in attendance. We still get fond comments about our cake topper and chocolates over a year after the wedding!

I provided my pictures and information into an email and received a quick response. Also, when I was interested in making changes to the order with enough notice, Paul Pape Designs was accommodating. My order both was shipped and received as quoted and arrived in great condition! My suggestion for future brides is to make sure your cake will hold the cake topper, as my baker was concerned of the weight of it and placed dowels in the cake to support it. Everything went well, we got many great compliments, and the service was great!

We had a great experience ordering the Mii Cake Toppers from Paul Pape. He was always very helpful and timely in answering our questions. The cake topper was a spot-on interpretation of our actual Mii's. Paul provided very fast service leaving plenty of time before our wedding.

These cake toppers were a hit! They were such a great way to portray the personality and uniqueness of the bride and groom! They were definitely the "must see" of the night, and I think every guest got a picture of them. My only criticism is the price. I know they are handmade and completely unique, I do find it hard for someone to pay $200+ for a cake topper. Luckily all the bride and groom's siblings chipped in to get it as a gift for them to surprise them with at the rehearsal dinner. The good thing is that they do come with a lifetime warranty, which came in handy because with all the commotion over how awesome they were, the groom's arm had fallen off by the end of the night- opps, haha! Thank you Paul for creating such a unique cake topper that my brother and his wife will forever remember as something that made their wedding day so wonderful :)
