Enthusiasm without the cheesy-ness!
Paul did an amazing job at our wedding and reception! We had him provide ceremony sound (including officiant mic), music for the reception, and he hosted our NEWLYWED GAME (aka "the shoe game"), which we chose to do during dinner after the toasts. He kept the game fast, light-hearted, and fun! We got so many laughs and compliments for doing it - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! For the dancing portion - he knows how to keep the party going! He got people to the dance floor and kept them there with perfect music selections and adapted based on what everyone was feeling. His grand entrance and introductions were not cheesy but super enthusiastic in the best way possible - getting everyone amped up! Definitely hire Paul to keep your party going all night! -

Wow!! Paul and Lisa were wonderful!! They provided a professional and customized entertainment package to help make our daughter's wedding a truly memorable one. Not only did he provide the wedding ceremony and reception entertainment, he was also the officiant that married our daughter and her husband. The wedding guests continuously stopped us to comment on how good the DJ was. He played a terrific mix of music in the styles we chose and provided great music for the cocktail hour and dinner. Thank you again for all you and Lisa did!! -

It was all perfect! The music was fantastic all night. Even catering to different cultures! (My family is hispanic) We were all very happy. Everyone danced and enjoyed it! They made sure we had everything we needed and the reception when great thanks to their help! I would recommend them very much to anyone who needs a dj! -

Paul was our DJ on our very special day, and we couldn't have been happier with him! He was so much fun, surprised us with a hilarious Bride/Groom game that everybody loved, so professional, and easy to communicate with. I will definitely be using him again in the future! -

Paul was our officiant and DJ for our ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and perfectly tailored to what we wanted, and the party was fabulous afterwards! Paul and Lisa were incredible! They were so so helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process (I even called panicking once and Lisa talked me through it and helped me with my wedding day timeline). The music that Paul played throughout the night was fantastic. He did a perfect combination of songs which had every single person dancing. There is no better DJ than Paul Matthews!! -

Paul is awesome!!! He set up his own equipment and was available to be at our wedding ceremony in addition to the reception to provide a microphone for speakers in the ceremony. He has a fun presence and is able to get the party started! His music selection was AWESOME and our guests definitely enjoyed dancing the night away! Paul is so kind and easy to work with and talk to. When I was over thinking several parts of the reception, he called me and eased my mind. He is quick at responding to emails, phone calls, etc. I highly recommend him for any event!!! We loved Paul and most definitely hope to see him in the future. I promise you will not find a cooler DJ! -

We are so lucky to have found Paul Matthews Entertainment for our destination wedding. He was available for questions and gave us access to select the music we would like to have played. This review is very important to me because Paul was also the one to officiate our destination wedding. Never having met Paul and Lisa before I instantly felt a sense of love and friendship from a couple we didn't even know. Our ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful. Paul did a wonderful job during our reception. We are so very very pleased. -

I would highly recommend Paul and Lisa Matthews as your DJ. They were super awesome to work with and very accommodating! Any questions or changes we wanted they were able to work with us. Paul was also our officiant that married us, which worked out great!! -

Paul and his wife were amazing! Friendly kept the music flowing. And really made our wedding a great night. It was quite small and smaller than expected because we were married during Hurricane Hermine. But we had a blast none-the-less thanks the Paul! -

Paul and Lisa did a fabulous job. They work well together, are very accommodating, and are very friendly. We felt very blessed working with them. They both are very down to earth people, and we felt very comfortable working with them.
Paul did a great job officiating our daughter's wedding. He is also a fantastic DJ. He did a great job of keeping the the guests entertained throughout the entire reception, from the newlywed game to the story of the origin of the wedding cake.
Lisa was an excellent "Day of" Planner. Not only did she help us out immensely throughout the planning, but she also took the stress of me, the mother of the bride, so that I could spend that time with my daughter. The timing of everything was flawless, and I give most of the credit to Lisa. Even though Lisa was extremely busy, she still managed to run a photo booth with the hep of their son and another young lady.
Together, Paul and Lisa made my daughter's wedding day perfect. I would highly recommend them for any of these services. It was great having "One Stop Shopping" with Paul and Lisa considering we were doing a destination wedding. -

My husband and I chose Paul Matthews entertainment because of his reviews... And we weren't let down!
His professionalism, personality, and out going attitude made our day not only fun, but exactly how we imagined it. From the ceremony as our officiant and having everyone's attention with happy tears, to breaking it down on the dance floor because his choice of songs were for ALL generations. Overall we were more than satisfied with Paul because we didn't have to stress about anything at all with him. -

Paul did an amazing job! He followed our instruction as to what kind of music we wanted and what kind of music we did not want. He picked songs that were really fun for everyone. Our dance floor was full all night with my friends as well as my parents friends. Since the wedding I've had friends comment that they absolutely loved the DJ. I highly recommend Paul Matthews. He was totally worth every penny. -

When your in the wedding biz also, you get to know alot of DJ's. I met Paul a year ago at an event, and his personality stood out to me. I was very excited to chose him for our special day. Paul is GREAT at what he does! He officiated our wedding too, he was professional, yet fun and light hearted. He made us feel relaxed. It was great to have a 2-in-1 vendor to provide both services. He kept the party going all night, having interaction with the guests and he even have fun games, such as the "Newly Wed" game and the Longevity dance! He played the songs we wanted, and had a wide variety of music to suit our needs. We are truly thankful for the opportunity to work with him. Paul and his wife Lisa (who helps with sound) are both so warm, down to earth, and welcoming, they felt like family! His services were everything we wanted and more for our special day. Awesome ! Took care of everything so I wouldn't worry. Provided a photo booth that was a huge hit with all the guest. Had props and a book for people to design. The photo booth attendant decorated the photo album like a scrapbook for us to take home at the end of the night. -

Well, I should probably write Paul and Lisa two reviews seeing how we could not get enough of them! We were lucky enough to have Paul DJ at both our rehearsal dinner and reception and enjoyed every minute! They arrived early, had everything set up and ready to go and worked well coordinating with our vendors throughout both events. Paul Matthews entertainment was a part of my big day on June 10th, 2015 for my wedding in myrtle beach at the hilton! Paul and Lisa did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone! They are also very very flexible with your needs. The day before we had a little bit of a dilemma and had very little time to find an officiant for our wedding and Paul and Lisa were so kind to offer their services to be our officiant! Kevina and I got married May 30th. Paul Matthews is AWESOME! I would definitely recommenced him! He is an awesome DJ, and very creative with "couples" games. Campbell was our DJ, provided by Paul and Lisa Matthews, and he was fabulous!!! The whole experience with Paul and Lisa was fabulous! Lisa contacted me RIGHT after I filled out the "Contact Us" selection online. She insisted on talking to me directly on the phone instead of email because she wanted to get a feel for what my husband and I wanted on the BIG DAY! She was right. Talking to her, rather than email, was the way to go. She and Paul were so helpful during the entire planning process. The online tools that were provided were sensational and so helpful! The online tools gave us a guideline and we could use them for planning on our own time. Everything about the company was unbelievable! Campbell (our assigned DJ) showed up a day before to go through the flow of the event. I can't thank him enough for how awesome he was! I highly recommend Paul Matthews Entertainment for whatever you need them for! They are terrifiic! -

When my now husband and I sat down with Paul for the first time we expected it to be a short meeting discussing price and then we would make our decision. We showed up at the local Starbucks and two hours later we had covered ALL the basics with him to make sure we were a good match. Paul emphasizes picking a DJ that is a good match for you as a couple and that just made us love him more. We hired him as our officiant and dj which worked perfectly because he was able to run the schedule so smoothly. They have an online portal that you can put all your information into so they can get an idea of what you would like. About a week before the wedding, when I was in total panic mode, I had a phone conversation with Paul about all my wants and needs for the ceremony and reception. We went through the script and music and he was so accommodating. He will do the ceremony any way you like and he makes you feel so comfortable. The day of the wedding came and he was perfectly on time and even let my cousin do a run through of the song she would be singing. The ceremony was fun and he had no problem laughing along with us. The reception was a party! He got everyone going with the music and kept all the activities moving smoothly. We did a garter activity that he suggested as well as the newlywed game with Ken and Barbie dolls. I could not have asked for a more perfect day and I would have never chosen anyone else to be with us through it. I have absolutely no complaints about this DJ/Officiant. -

Highly recommend! He remand flexible there was a song i had forgotten to request and he didnt have it in his playlist... It was no problem 60 sec later he found it and it was playing for the grooms request! Also do the newly wed game! And have someone record it. Decided to do that last min and all of our guest really enjoyed it! Also loved the uplighting and the light on the cake...first class. -

I was enamored from day one by Paul Matthews and his sweet wife. It was Lisa (his wife) who actually won my heart first! I knew that a good DJ/MC was something that was very important to my fiancé and I. Within an hour of requesting information on their website, Lisa called me to discuss our wants and needs. She spoke with me for well over an hour going over the entire process, all of the services that they provide, and explaining to me what sets them apart from other services. I was hooked! I hadn't gotten that kind of response from any other service. Their price was completely reasonable for the quality they offer. Included in the DJ service, I also got a ceremony/reception planning tool that helped me line everything up just the way I wanted it. It was great! Paul and Lisa were both so easy to talk to, I was able to call any time with questions and concerns. And the week before the wedding, they met me for Coffee to go over the entire thing. Needless to say, the wedding was EXCEPTIONAL! I was so glad I hired Paul Matthews to DJ my wedding. I continue to have countless compliments on the liveliness of the party! He kept everyone engaged, having a great time, and on the dance floor! There was even a moment where my 2 year old daughter ended up in his arms! haha! She loved it! I HIGHLY recommend Paul Matthews Entertainment to anyone looking to have a great time at their wedding reception with NO STRESS! You guys are fantastic! I wish I could get married all over again just to get another opportunity to work with you :) -

I was very impressed by Paul's professionalism and ability to keep the night moving along. He did the music for the ceremony & the reception.
The toasts of the night were very emotional. Instead of sticking with the scheduled order, Paul switched it up to get everyone on the dance floor and laughing. No one noticed (myself included) that the order was switched since he did it seamlessly. He kept us on time all night and had patience with us when we kept getting distracted while he was asking questions.
The planning tools he offers online are great and is willing to get a couple of songs you request if they aren't on the list already. He made it a point to verify the type of music we did and did not want played, and had a good mix of slow and fast songs all night.
He loves what he does and it shows in his work. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ. -

Paul was absolutely wonderful, energetic, flexible, and he carried the crowd into an amazing level of fun-filled satisfaction in a very professional manner. He was an amazing DJ, and he played music for both the young generation and my generation that we all loved. Nobody was bored in that party. Even the 80 year old grandma of the groom was dancing. His game for the newly-wed entertained every one of our guests. First time we saw such a game!
I have hired many DJs in the past for my two daughters' sweet sixteen parties, for my son's wedding party, and my renewal of vows' party, all done in the New York Tristate area, but no one compares to Paul Matthews. -

Paul Matthews and his wife were amazing to work with! As soon as I got off the phone with Mrs. Matthews when she told me about how Paul DJ's for weddings I immediately knew who my DJ would be! The way they explained everything they do (from DJ'ing the music to playing games, to speaking about the background of a wedding cake) was exactly what I wanted! The music was amazing and everyone was dancing at all times! They had a great transition from dinner to dancing by having us play the newlywed game (where we have barbie's and they asked us questions about one another and we rose the correct male or female barbie) and then played the Cupid Shuffle and Wobble. They are an excellent team who made sure everyone was happy! Everyone kept telling us how much the enjoyed the music. My husband and I even got them to come out on the dance floor with us while a song or two was playing :) They were amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend them! -

Love Paul Matthews entrainment!! From the time I first contacted them I was greeted by emails from Paul and his wife. Planning the wedding out of town they were fantastic at telling me the ins and outs about other vendors so I knew what I was getting into. They also helped me find other vendors for different services I needed. They promptly answered all of my emails and were more than happy to help in any way! Campbell Thames was my DJ and minister for my wedding. I couldn't have been happier! He did an beautiful ceremony that I am still hearing compliments on. For the reception I wasn't sure we would have many dancers but he got everyone up and moving. He made sure everything was happening when I wanted as for dinner, cake cutting etc. He kept the night and the party going for sure! He was showing guest dance moves and everyone had a blast! I would highly recommend Paul Matthews entertainment and I would highly recommend Campbell. The wedding was unforgettable, thank you Campbell! -

Mr. Matthews was an excellent help throughout the entire wedding planning process, not only for DJing services. He helped me so much with the entire "Day-Of Schedule", what to have when and how to plan it out. He was very professional and had great advice. He made me feel special and fully devoted his time to me. One night, I called him and spoke to him for at least an hour about the schedule, and his answers weren't just "Whatever you want, just tell me what to do" type of things, he actually gave me the advise I was looking for. He asked questions, made sure everyone's name was pronounced right, and personalized everything he did to me and my husband. It was very refreshing to find a DJ as classy and genuine as Mr. Paul Matthews. He is a definite "must-have" for any bride! -

Paul was the perfect DJ for our wedding on 10/20. We got to grab lunch with Paul and his wife Lisa a couple days before the wedding and they treat you like family! We had a small wedding but they kept the dance floor going all night. They took a ton of my last minute requests and listened to all of them and made sure I was happy all night long. They definetly have a ton of experience and really made the night run smoothly!! I would recommend them to any bride looking for the perfect DJ on a bidget that will make the whole wedding FUN!

Mr. Matthews recently did our daughters wedding at the Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville SC. He was amazing! He kept everything going and has some wonderful special things he does for the bride and groom. Everyone at the reception commented on how good he was. My brother Rick has bar-tended at hundreds of weddings and he said "he is one of the best; if not The best DJ he has heard. Paul Matthews Entertainment was great! I had to plan a party from out of state and they were very helpful and so easy to work with. During our party they took requests and we had everyone at the party on the dance floor. It was a night that we won't forget and most of that is thanks to Paul Matthews Entertainment. They really helped to turn our gathering and celebration into a party and the entire family had a blast! Also, I later heard Anniversary Dance was a hit with everyone. Beyond being a DJ though, he was professional and easy to work with, and listened to our thoughts and opinions. Our wedding was on 5/4/2013, and I can't tell you how pleased we were with the turnout! Everything was great, and we had so many compliments on the playlist and flow of the reception. A lot of our guests didn't even want to leave, which is unlike many of the weddings we've been to in the past! Our photographer also said it was the best reception she's photographed, and she's done quite a few.
We were also really appreciative of how open to communicating with us both Paul and Lisa were since we are more than 8 hours away from SC and was planning long-distance. They accommodated our last minute changes and were very open to the type of reception we wanted to have. They also have a great website which made it easy for my husband and me to request what we wanted.
I can't say enough nice things about them, and if you are planning a wedding in SC or surrounding areas, you should definitely check them out.

Mr. Matthews met with us before the wedding to discuss details Typical meeting. went well. I had certain expectations(basically a playlist in the exact order I wanted). I felt uneasy after the meeting and requested a 2nd meeting. Mr. Matthews and his wife Mrs. Matthews were understanding and patient. They went through my playlist song by song I felt like I was in the company of some fun loving relatives that I had know for years. They comforted me and assured me they would play any list I wanted but that if during the reception people didnt seem to be dancing he could offer some alternatives only with my permission. With everything else so out of control, it felt so great to know i could trust them and relax about the music. Paul showed up early to set up before any guests arrived. looking very professional in his tux, the ceremony music was beautiful, and perfectly timed, perfect level for our outdoor venue (i had worried it would not be heard or be too loud) He was one of the first to congratulate us before entering the reception with a heartfelt hug and a tear in his eye. I will never forget his sincerety. He actually played every single song I requested in the exact order! He made small announcements as we had discussed and if anyone requested songs he ok'd with me first(per my request). Everyone danced, including my family who NEVER dances! He kept checking in with me the whole night, i felt like i had a team of support and it was just Mr. Matthews! Everyone was having such a good time we werent ready for the party to end. Mr. Matthews announced the last song, and every other important song so we knew we should be on the dance floor. He made this day the most magical day of our lives! . -

I found Paul online since we were having a destination wedding. When we were coming into town to finalize a few wedding things he offered to meet us and took us out to lunch. He was very professional and offered a TON of advice for us which was super helpful! He actually already had a layout that is common at weddings, let me customize the layout and also had an online tool which helps the bride who can't always pick up the phone to change something. During the wedding I didn't have to worry about if he was going to show or where he was going to set up, etc. He was such a pro he knew exactly what to do. During out reception all my bridesmaids were requesting songs and he found the songs and kept everyone dancing...even our parents all night! We had a blast and Paul was such a great choice. Justin Matthews played steel drums for our cocktail hour. We did not hear much because we were having our pictures taken, but all of our guest loved the music and were amazed that he was so young but had so much talent on the steel drums! If anyone is looking for an amazing DJ/Officiant I highly suggest Paul Matthews Entertainment!!! Paul and his wife Lisa are easy to work with. They helped us out every step of the way. We got married in Pawleys Island and planned it all from Pittsburgh Pa. They answered every email very quickly and were always very very helpful. They gave tons of examples of vendors they have worked with which helped a ton!!! We were finally married on 6/19/13 & Paul/Lisa did an amazing job of keeping things on time and fun!

We hired Paul as our officiant and his son to play the steel drums for our beach wedding!! We lived 4 hours away, so it wasnt possible for me to meet with them beforehand. They stayed in communication with me through out the entire planning process and provided me with several options. His wife Lisa was also there every step of the way. Justin played the steel drums for the ceremony, including the music I walked down the aisle to and I'm wishing we had hired him to play during the reception as well. Paul even was able to switch up the vows for us just 30 minutes before the ceremony! Hands down, we could not have had a better experience and I would encourage any bride/groom to hire this group for their ceremony and reception! -

Paul was an excellent DJ. Very easy to communicate with before the wedding to make sure he has all of the details for the big day. His website for his clients is top of the line and makes everything easier. He recommends ideas for the reception and he makes sure the reception flows very smoothly. I would definitely recommend Paul for any wedding. -

Paul handled all of our music including ceremony selections. Would highly recommend Paul to keep your wedding reception fun as well. He had our friends and family enjoying the music and dancing for much of the event. -

Paul was great DJ and had the dance floor hopping throughout the night! (More than we even thought would dance!) We did have some communication complication with names and how we wanted the evening to flow at the beginning but once we got the ball rolling, it was an amazing night! His story telling and games kept everyone on their toes along with the different music selection that he brought to the table. We would definitely recommend him for anyone looking for a DJ and will use him in the future. -

I really enjoyed how Lisa and Paul Matthews spent over doing a phone consult getting to know us as a couple and what we were hoping for on our special day. They were so easy to talk with and their website was perfect when you needed some song ideas. On our wedding day Paul was able to feel the mood of the party and adjust the music accordingly. Paul seemed to enjoy himself as much as we did on our wedding day. He provided ceremony music as well as reception music at the Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC. I would recommend them for your wedding and will most definitely use them again next time I need a DJ. -

Paul and Lisa were incredible. From the beginning they were extremely flexible and worked to make sure that our special day was everything we wanted it to be. Lisa was very detailed and made sure that the order of the ceremony and the reception had everything that we wanted. Paul also performed our ceremony and went out of his way to make sure that the ceremony was PERFECT! He even ensured that the last minute scriptures that I wanted to include were there. Paul made us feel comfortable and we truly enjoyed the newlywed/shoe game. Our guests danced and had a great time. I would recommend Paul Matthews Entertainment to anyone! -

Paul Matthews Entertainment was the best choice we could have selected for our wedding reception. Campbell Thames was assigned to our event as Paul was already booked and we are confident we received the absolute best service ever!!! Campbell communicated with us prior to our our event via phone, text, email, and in person. He was truly willing to do whatever we wanted to make our event exactly what we envisioned. He even helped us select our Sand Ceremony song for our wedding as we were having a hard time selecting a family song. Campbell kept the reception jumping from beginning to end and was very personable throughout the evening. We danced the entire time and had the best time ever!!! Thank you for helping to make our reception exactly what we dreamed. Peace, Love, and Happiness!!! -

Paul was wonderful as an Officiant. He met with us in advance and allowed us to customize parts of the wedding to reflect our personalities. We included a sand ceremony to incorporate a teenager into the marriage. Paul created the special wording so that we all felt very special during this part of the ceremony. -

DJ Paul Matthews brought the party to our reception! I loved his narration that gave meaning and attention to our cake cutting ceremony, his professionalism and flexibility with our vendors, as well as the pre-ceremony online resource he utilizes!
Unlike other DJ's, he brought the party, but never made the party about him or hearing his own voice. Could not imagine our reception ever being better! His light set-up, sound system....everything was spot on! THANK YOU!! -

Paul Matthews is amazing! He got everyone on the dance floor and played all our requested songs! He was so accommodating to last minute changes and everything was seamless! Paul and Lisa are absolutely amazing! Coming from out of state, there were a few things I was worried about when planning my wedding. After talking to Paul and Lisa over the phone, the DJ and Officiant were not something I worried about! They both reached out to me multiple times prior to my wedding date just to see if I needed anything (advice on other vendors, recommendations/suggestions, etc). I even through a few last minute (secret from my fiance) ideas their way and they definitely delivered! Loved working with both Paul and Lisa! Couldn't have asked for better! -

He wanted a list of music that we did not want played and what we wanted played for certain parts of the reception. He played music that we asked him not to and he didn't play some of the music we requested. I made the best of it since it was our wedding day but it was a disappointment. He also waited until the day of the event to tell my wedding planner we had not paid our final payment. We actually had paid our final payment 4 months prior with and electronic payement through our bank which he must have forgot about. I emailed him about this after the wedding, but still have yet to hear a reply. -
