  We had the most beautiful, elegant and simple cake! The only left overs were our top tier :) I think that means it was a huge success!!!

  My wedding cake was decorated perfectly and they offered to decorate it with my flowers as well. The cake was absolutely delicious and extremely affordable.

  I got my wedding cake here and was extremely happy with both the look and flavors. Everyone raved about how good the cake was. The cake itself was light sponge cake and very moist. The fruit and custard was refreshing and not too sweet. Also Francoise, the manager, was easy to work with and very responsive. All in all a great experience and fantastic product for a much more reasonable price than other bakeries.

  We purchased our wedding cake from Patisserie Bechler and can say nothing but how fabulous it was! We first met with Francoise who was just lovely and sat us down to taste some different flavors of cake and discuss design. From the pictures I showed her, she was not at all concerned that what we were interested in would be a challenge whatsoever. Even better, the cake that we tasted was wonderful! Upon agreeing to hire Patisserie Bechler to bake our cake, they were easy and responsive to work with. They made different flavors for each layer of our cake, and were able to adjust their delivery time as needed. Francoise was responsive and easy to work with. And our cake exceeded our expectations and just looked amazing! We are already talking about making the drive from San Francisco and getting our 1 year anniversary cake from them since we aren't saving the top layer!

  We got our bridal shower cake and wedding cake from Bechler. They were fresh and delicious and decorated exactly how I expected from my photo of inspiration. Francois was awesome at listening to what I wanted and he delivered.

  We ordered our wedding cake from this charming place. They have many flavors and all are delicious. We ended up ordering different ones for different layers of the cake. We met with chef Bechler himself and discussed the design that we wanted. He was incredibly welcoming and flexible with us. He created our perfect cake from one picture and one conversation. In fact, my husband like our cake more than the original design we discussed. The whole team was very professional and flexible. We were not sure if our rustic style cake stand will be delivered on time and they agreed to bring a stand just in case, as a back-up. We ended up not using their stand and were not charged. But it was great to know they were there for us to help last minute.

  Françoise and Gerard were great to work with! They were very accommodating to what we wanted for our wedding. We were able to send pictures of exactly what we wanted for our cake and they did a great job! Instead of one big cake we opted to go for a small presentation cake and had a buffet of Macarons, petit fours, meringue, and chocolate covered strawberries. Their prices are very reasonable and everything tasted amazing! Our guests loved it!

When we first walked in we were greeted by the manager, Natalie, and we told her we needed a small wedding cake for a small ceremony. She then sat us at a table to look through a book of cake type, prices, sizes, etc. We decided to just choose one of the cake flavors in the book and gave our design to Natalie. She took all our info and said the chef would call us in a day or two to confirm and go over all the information.
  A day or so later chef Gerard Bechler called and said he can make the cake, but would like us to make a trip back to do some tastings. And are we glad we did. He brought out some great tasting cakes. Since we wanted a two tier cake, he said he can do two different cakes. So we did, and not only that, he delivered the cake himself prior to our small ceremony and set it up. I think that is what stood out more than anything, aside from the amazing cake he made for us.

  Another high point in our wedding plans. We had called a Carmel, CA. bakery but they were to be closed the end of December, 2012....so they suggested Patisserie Bechler in Pacific Grove, CA. We called and spoke with Natalie and found a wonderful person and bakery! Natalie appreciated my daughter's email to her and wanted to help us even though we would never meet. We asked for a certain look and Natalie and the bakery made it to perfection. We had a 3 tiered cake and then did a sheet cake in chocolate at the request of the groom. The 3 tiered cake was lemon and yummy, as was the chocolate. The bakery delivered the cake and not only was it beautiful and good, it was very reasonable!

  Gérard made an amazing cake for my wedding in April 2012.
  
  I found my own design online and I got exactly what I wanted.
  
  His assistants are fast when it comes to replying to emails.
  
  Everyone at the wedding commented on how beautiful the cake was...we didn't want to cut it!

He worked with our florist to integrate fresh flowers into the design and what resulted was a truly eloquent, delicate, simply amazing cake. It was a work of art.

  I like the unconventional, the unique and--let me just admit it--the better things for myself. So when it came to deciding the details regarding our wedding cake, I wanted something more than just the traditional wedding cake. So why not just have two kinds of cakes? My hubby and I love cream puffs. So I had the great idea of a cream puff tower, or a croque en bouche. As you can see in the pictures, the croque en bouche was beautiful. The little roses are actually candied. And the cream puffs were divine. We did not order our wedding cake from the Patisserie Belcher (as my husband’s cousin is a baker and made ours as a gift). But I can absolutely account for their croque en bouche which is excellent. My guests still rave about the cream puffs. My husband and I plan to celebrate every anniversary with a croque en bouche.

Gerard provided helpful suggestions for us, he's been decorating cakes a lot longer than we've been eating them... not sure if that's a good compliment, but it certainly was nice to have his opinions as we flipped thorough the plentiful binders. We did not choose to have flowers on our cake, though he did offer to decorate the cake with flowers for free if we provided him with the flowers. The delivery charge was worth it... the cake arrived on time and in perfect shape. Everyone loved our cake! I'd get married all over again if it meant I got to have another one of his cakes... thank God he has a retail bakery!

  Gerard Bechler is incredible. He is kind, funny, and a pleasure to work with. He transformed my vision into the more gorgeous cake I've seen. More importantly, it was delicious. My only regret about my wedding is that I didn't have more than one slice! He is the best pastry chef in the area. No contest.

  Delicious cake & beautiful cake! Gerard and Delphine are such down to earth people, my grandfather was a holocaust survivor and came from a long line of cake makers in holland pre-world war two. After losing all his family he made cakes in california, and it was my childhood dream for him to make my cake, unfortunately he has advanced alzheimer's and was unable to. Patisserie bechler is a worthy substitute, not only does it have the same european style (not too heavy and artificial like other cake makers in the area), but Gerard told me when I was overwhelmed by all the choices that it really is not that important, but it is the marriage that is important. Coming from someone who should be trying to sell his cakes, was really touching. They have been making cake's for over 30 years and know what they are doing. They also have tasty food at their restaurant. I recommend!

Patisserie Bechler uses REAL ingredients (i.e. butter instead of lard) and was very flexible, even when we changed a bit of the design the day before. They also put together some delicious petit fours and chocolate covered strawberries. (I heard they were delicious but didn't get to try them -- they were all gone by the time I got to the table!)

  I love love love Gerard Bechler! He is a handsome, charming Frenchman and our seashell cake with sugar sand was beautiful! He is very professional and his cake is delicious!

  The cake was exactly like the photo we brought in. It was beautiful and delicious. I was very happy. Gerard even threw in sugar sand and white chocolate coral decorations for free. He was great to work with.

  Not only does this french bakery have great food but they do great wedding cakes as well.
  We had chocolate cake with a chocolate mouse and vanilla with raspberry filling both very light tasting and delicious. Not a big fan of the taste of fondant but it was necessary to create the design of the cake I wanted. It was nice working with such pro's, I didn't have to worry about a thing.
