Our guest loved him, & we loved him. His professionalism is unmatched. My husband is such an introvert, but on stage he was laughing and smiling like he’d been friends with Rev. Demetrius. for over 20 years. He absolutely made our day. He also mailed in our marriage certificate something else we didn’t have to think about.

Best Officiant We Could Ask For!
We had the most professional, timely, responsive and engaging officiant for our wedding with Pastor Lawrence. Like many couples, we were searching and came upon Pastor Lawrence's profile and we are grateful we did. The Pastor replied to us immediately and set up a zoom for our first meeting. He was receptive to our requests and how we wanted our wedding ceremony to flow. There were traditional parts we wanted and others we changed and he was open and incorporated our requests. He also worked with us on the scripture we wanted read. The Pastor arrived early to our venue and was dressed impeccably well. Better Late Than Never
Pastor Lawrence was simply phenomenal! I am extremely late in writing this review because…well life happens. However, the Pastor was such an important part of our wedding that it sat on my mind and heart for a while. Pastor Lawrence was everything that my husband and I were looking for. We wanted someone who we felt comfortable with and who we trusted to officiate our wedding in an authentic and personalized manner. We did not want our ceremony to be generic. Pastor Lawrence made it a point to meet with us via zoom multiple times to get to know us and what we wanted; and he created a sermon that was short and sweet, but heartfelt and authentic to who we are as a couple. Everyone thought that he was our regular pastor as he spoke of us like he knew us for years. He listened and delivered exactly what we needed. We will forever be grateful to Pastor Lawrence and his beautiful wife for gracing us with his presence and prayers on the most special day of our lives. This is a long overdue review! Pastor Lawrence officiated our wedding on August 16, 2024. He arrived early to our ceremony, introduced himself to the maitre'd and the venue's staff, and waited for the procession to begin. Prior to the wedding, Pastor Lawrence met with us to get to know us and to find out exactly what we wanted on the day of our wedding. He assured us that if we had any questions or if we needed to contact him, we could contact him at any time. The ceremony went smoothly and was beautiful. Pastor Lawrence also gave a lovely blessing right before dinner began. Overall, Pastor Lawrence was a pleasure to work with. After our initial meeting with him, we know that we wanted him to officiate our wedding. He was very easy to talk to, and very kind and professional. We would absolutely recommend him to any couple getting married.

Interfaith Wedding in New York
Demetrius did a fantastic job as our pastor and wedding officiant. He participated in our interfaith wedding, working closely with two Zoroastrian priests and our Church of England minister to help us combine two cultural backgrounds. Demetrius led us through the blessing of the rings and the exchanging of our vows to each other. During this he gave a message that was tailored to us, involved our guests through call and response, and then prayed over us. We were so pleased with how he did our ceremony.
Demetrius was very professional, calm throughout the chaos. and attended multiple calls prior to the event. He was also present at the rehearsal the day prior to the wedding.
We would highly recommend Demetrius as a wedding officiant in the New York area.

Amazing Officiant!
I knew after our initial conversation with Pastor Lawrence that he was going to be a great addition to our wedding and he did not disappoint. Pastor Lawrence had a commanding presence and delivered an amazing Word during our ceremony. I was slightly nervous but he made everyone feel at ease. The ceremony started about 20 minutes late and he was incredibly patient with us.
Pastor Lawrence was also present for our rehearsal. It was truly an honor having him as an officiant. I would highly recommend him to anyone and I believe after a conversation, everyone would agree.

Performed our wedding ceremony in Central Park in June. We knew we wanted a pastor to help start our marriage off with the blessing and word of God. We found Pastor Lawrence on Wedding Wire and decided to book him because of his stellar reviews and he did not disappoint. He was professional, very friendly, and full of positive energy and charisma. We met with him for premarital counseling and he gave us great words of wisdom, scriptures to reflect on, and tools that we will use forever. On our wedding day, he was on time (early actually) and his sermon for our ceremony was lively, interactive, and to the point. High recommend Pastor Lawrence
We were lucky enough to have pastor Lawrence officiate our wedding and provide premarital counseling for us . He is very professional and reliable. On our wedding day there was a major delay in the start time of our wedding due to unforeseen circumstances with my mua. Pastor Lawrence was extremely patient and still performed a beautiful ceremony. He even handled the mailing of our marriage license and we received our certificate in the mail a few weeks after our wedding. A Wonderful Wedding Officiant
Our first wedding ceremony was postponed secondary to the pandemic. The excitement and joy surrounding planning a wedding soon became filled with disappointment, sadness, and grief. Great Experience!
Pastor Lawrence officiated our wedding so beautifully. The spirit was there, which is what we wanted. He coordinated the ceremony so well and was very communicative about how he was going officiate and the order of the ceremony. He and his Wife stayed for the reception and blended so well with our family and friends. The bridal party rehearsed several times about who was doing what and while it wasn't intended for our daughter to exit the ceremony with Pastor Lawrence and his Wife, she did and it still went so seamless.
Thank you Pastor Lawrence for a great officiating our beautiful ceremony. I know this review will catch you as a surprise as it took me forever...I'm so sorry. You were great and the key to our ceremony being a success.

Wedding Bride
I am super excited to write this review. Pastor Demetrius was amazing. My husband and I decided to do marriage counseling with Pastor Demetrius and his wife and it was amazing. My learned so much more about eachother on a deeper level and now we communicate better which I feel those sessions definitely helped with. Pastor’s wife took time out of her day to listen to my vows and helped me with wording and tweaks to make it PERFECT! Pastor Demetrius did the same with my husband. They both arrived to the wedding EARLY and ready to rock. They even stopped by beforehand to say some kind words to my husband and I. 💖The ceremony was about 30 minutes (which is exactly what we wanted) but the Pastor said deep and meaningful words that blew everyone away.
My husband and I forgot our marriage license and you can only imagine how anxious we became but the Pastor and his wife decided to meet up with us at the hotel after we enjoyed our time at the wedding together. These two people are literally BLESSINGS. We still keep in touch and they reach out to me from time to time to check in. If you pick Pastor Demetrius will you have no regrets!

Our day was filled with many imperfections; however, I will say that Pastor Lawrence made our wedding perfect. One of the most memorable speeches I will forever remember
Before tying the knot,I would have said the most important components of a wedding to me would be the pictures and the dress.
When you have a partner that is not much of a talker and won’t create their own vows. It was very important for me to find someone that can speak on behalf of the both of us. I definitely found that in Pastor Lawrence. He has been great to work with along with his wife first lady Alicia. He’s been flexible, nonjudgemental, and open minded. Even when we did our marriage counseling it was great that both he and his wife listened, and provided wonderful feedback.
Pastor Lawrence is a wordsmith. Our ceremony was short, sweet, and sentimental. His delivery and passion of his words were so authentic and commanding that my guests were all engaged. I was so fortunate that someone actually recorded it. He really customized the sermon to fit who we are and not taking on a boring generic tone.
I highly recommend Pastor Lawrence to officiate over anyone’s event for that matter and I will definitely refer him to anyone in the future. I will rely on him and first lady moving forward in our marriage and spiritual growth.

Pastor Lawrence officiated my now husband, Jonathan and I on 5/22/21. From the day I read his reviews on wedding wire I knew he was meant to officiate us, I believe God sent us to him. We had pre-marriage counseling sessions via zoom and his teachings were biblical, taught us and guided us on what it takes to have a Godly marriage. His beautiful wife also attended the sessions and she was so sweet, personable and helpful in answering all of our wedding planning questions. Amazing Officiant
Pastor Demetrius Lawrence married my husband Vinny and I on March 19th, 2021. I cannot write enough wonderful things about him and his wife. Prior to the wedding we had a few zoom sessions in which we were able to get to know one another, customize our service and the pastor along with his incredible wife helped us work through some pre-marital concerns/problems. He is fair, accountable, professional, funny and VERY good at what he does as an officiant and counselor. I'm so grateful we chose him, as he came highly recommended by a coworker of mine. Many of my guests were raving about how touching our ceremony was with snippets of humor and even some crowd participation. It was awesome!! And most importantly we found a lifelong friend to both of us and a counselor we can rely on for future issues that may arise. I highly recommend!!

I am not one to normally write reviews but my husband and I would both strongly recommend Pastor Demetrius for both weddings and Pre-marital Counseling. We looked at a number of different officiants and he was the most genuine person we met. It was clear from the beginning and every step of the way that he cared and was invested in making sure my husband and I built a strong marriage and not just doing this for the money. Amazing officant who has a heart for people
We searched for a Pastor that would officate our wedding and we came across Pastor Lawrence. After we met with him for the first time, we knew immediately that he was the right for us and we weren't wrong. It's evident that he loves God and is genuinely interested in the couples he works with. Unfortunately, we needed to change our wedding plans because of COVID and he was flexible and accomodating. We couldn't be more grateful for the invaluable wisdom and guidance Pastor Lawrence and his wife provided during our counseling sessions. Pastor Demetrius Lawrence
When an uninvited "guest" (Corona Virus 2020) ruins your wedding plans, what do you do? You try again. After securing our marriage license on March 19th, we returned to the Justice of Peace the following day to make it official. When we arrived for our 3-20-20 nuptials, the governor had just ordered the mandatory shutdown. Feeling defeated, we were still determined to say "I Do". I found Pastor Demetrius Lawrence online and have not looked back since. The rave reviews provided a sense of comfort, calm and peace. After speaking with him, prior to our special day, I knew it was meant to be. He and his wife made our Wedding Day special and intimate. Not only did we, my husband and I...(insert smiley face with the heart eyes here)...make it official...we have made life long friends and confidants. Thank You Pastor Lawrence!

Heartwarming, transcendent, and stylish
I don’t know where to start. From the initial consult , Pastor Lawrence made us feel at ease. He was funny and aligned his message to our spiritual beliefs (we are Catholic). He offered continuous support and even offered to provide his support in the future if we ever needed counsel. He was stylish (his outfit was awesome haha), found the balance between being brief and meaningful, and made us and our guests feel he knew us forever. Thoughtful, considerate, inspiring, and spiritual are some of the few words that come to mind when I think of Pastor Lawrence.
He made our ceremony a dream and we are so grateful to have had him.

We found our officiant 🙏👏🏻
My fiancé and I met yesterday with Pastor Demetrius and he put our hearts at ease from the minute he began to speak. His calm persona and professionalism is a win win for us. Not to mention we were impressed with his fast response from the fist contact. Our impression of him is that this is a person who truly love what he do. He is flexible, insightful and allows his clients to take control of the vision they have for their special day. He also shows great interest in getting to know his clients while sharing aspects of his personal life stories. We can’t wait to have him officiate our wedding. We said YES to Rev. Such a blessing!
Pastor Demetrius was such a huge blessing to have officiant our wedding. From the moment we first met him and his wife we both knew he was the one we wanted to be a part of our day. Above and beyond what I expected
My wife and I decided that due to our current circumstances it would be better to have a small ceremony at our home until we could do a more formal one. We asked if Pastor Lawrence would officiate our small ceremony and not only was he happy to, he came prepared as if we were getting married on a grand stage. His level of professionalism and preparation was way more than either one of us expected. He went through the ceremony with the demeanor of a thoroughly practiced pastor, providing us with what felt like a marriage ceremony that could not have been done better in a location with 1000 people. We were fortunate to have him officiate our ceremony and when we do decide to have the grand wedding we would like, he will undoubtedly be the person we call to preside over it as well!

Best Decision Ever Made!
Pastor Demetrius has been a godsend. Having lost 3 options for pastors to officiate our wedding and being about a month and a half shy of the wedding day, I was convinced that we would be stuck. I was able to search through Wedding Wire and was drawn to Pastor Demetrius's profile. I feel that it must have been fate because he has made the process so much easier for us and he was amazing during or ceremony. It felt as if he has been our pastor for years. Pastor Demetrius is the most graceful, kind and patient pastor i have met. ( And I've met many) I had the absolute honor of meeting the Pastor and his wife and I can say, that alone was an experience. Pastor Demetrius Lawrence saved our wedding!
Our hired officiant fell ill a week before the wedding, and unfortunately neglected to inform us of that until 1 day before our ceremony. I scrambled around looking for an emergency officiant, and Pastor Lawrence responded extremely quickly and put my panicked mind at ease.
He did an excellent job! Especially for meeting us the that day. His passionate words and prayers touched our soul and made me cry happy tears! After nearly 2 years of planning for this wedding, it all came together with a beautiful ceremony performed by him. Everyone loved it!
We are looking forward to following up with him after our honeymoon. Don’t hesitate! Highly recommended!

I respect Pastor Demetrius a lot. He takes his professionalism very seriously yet he has a very down to earth vibe about himself. He took the time to meet with me and my wife to really make his speech personal and very meaningful to us. You could tell his approach was genuine and it felt like we were just catching up over coffee. I had mentioned to him that I had wanted to use a lei (I'm part Hawaiian) as a symbol of unity and tying the cord of two people together. He went above and beyond and looked up the meaning of the lei in Hawaiian culture and it's purpose during a wedding. He even used Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 to tie in this symbol (no pun intended).
During the ceremony he was very helpful and guided us through the ceremony very well. Something that I give him credit for was being helpful when we didn't have a rehearsal at all. He basically broke down the ceremony for us when we met previously and just guided us through it when we got there. It went really well and we shared laughs afterward as me and my wife were naturally nervous throughout it all.
We also invited him to the reception and him and his newlywed wife had a blast at our family table. My grandmother loved them both and there were a hit among my family members. From what I heard they had a blast and appreciated the gesture.
Overall, if you're in the hunt for an officiant Pastor Demetrius is more than just a safe bet, he's the best guy to have up there marrying you.

Dr. Pastor Demetrius Lawrence, performed at our wedding on 3/10/2018 in Brooklyn New York at the Akwaaba Mansion. His professionalism, is first rate. he showed extreme concern for meeting the needs of me and my wife. During the ceremony, his word were prophetic and inspiring. We highly recommend Pastor Demetrius to anyone looking to get married. We definitely hit the JACKPOT with him. My Husband and I requested his services very last minute. When I spoke with him not only was he super Understanding,encouraging, and personable but he also took the time to Pray for us during the first phone call. I can say that he most certainly relieved our stress and was on top of things. After searching for the perfect pastor and almost giving up , I’m certain that only God could’ve put us in touch with Pastor Demetrius. We truly appreciate you sooo much and thank you for being so Flexible, reasonable, and kind to us.

Pastor Demetrius exceeds the 5.0 rating. He is truly wonderful. Pastor Demetrius officiated our wedding on February 17, 2018. All I can it was beautiful. Not only was Pastor Demetrius wonderful, the help I received from Alicia was truly helpful for my wife and I. Pastor Demetrius is truly anointed and speaks the words he receives from God. His words were true from the heart and was truly meant for both my wife and I. As much as Pastor Demetrius is a man of God he made our wedding enjoyable and entertaining. People told me they never laughed so much at at wedding ceremony. He even have my mother in law wanting to get married just so he can officiate her wedding. Pastor Demetrius is wonderful and would recommend him to anyone.

Pastor Demetrius will be officiantig our wedding in February. My first conversation with him was like talking to an old friend over the phone. It felt like an instant connection. Our first meeting with my family was like he was an instant member. I can’t wait for the actually wedding day. Will post another review after. But Pastor Demetrius is wonderful and would recommend him to anyone.

Pastor Demetrius Lawrence was amazing. He is truly anointed by God. When I first talked to him on the phone, I knew I wanted him to perform our wedding ceremony. He loves what he does and it shows. Every step of the way Pastor Lawrence was timely, responsive and delivered on our big day. My husband and I am forever grateful. God makes no mistakes and I am so happy I came across his profile. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without him.

It was indeed a great pleasure for my wife and I using Pastor Lawrence for our wedding ceremony. He was very professional, he arrived on time, assisted us with a few last minute issues and was very very patient. He did an excellent job, if I have to do this again (hopefully I won't) I would definitely use him again. He will certainly be recommended by me to my friends and family, if they ever need any form of service that he offers. Thank you again Pastor Lawrence.

Lawrence was a fantastic officiant to our wedding. He even took time out to get to know my wife and I way before the wedding ever even happened. I felt a strong connection with him and the process of getting through the ceremony/reception was great. Thanks again for agreeing to do our wedding. Cheers to you brother!

Heartfelt and moving officiant
Pastor Lawrence was knowledgeable and professional. We loved our ceremony. It was spiritually moving but also quick. We didn't go over the 30 allotted minutes but at no point did the ceremony feel rushed. We squeezed in a community prayer and a candle lighting ceremony, so that's saying something! We definitely recommend.

Pastor Demetrius provides a warm spiritually based service. I saw him perform a friend's wedding and I had to have him.
