This company offers decorations and dj services all in one. They have many packages and can add anything that you request. From backdrops to indoor cold fireworks and drapery, etc. Would recommend Party People for your next event.

Working with Chris was easy and his services are above and beyond what we expected. Our Holiday Gala for the Home Builders Association, which helped benefit the Habitat for Humanity NWI was a huge success, as Party People helped make it a success. I would recommend his DJ, Lighting, Photo-Station and Video Services to anyone who is having an event in Northwest, Indiana. - Eddie Castellanos, Executive Officer | Home Builders Association of NWI.

They did an amazing job, the music and lights were perfect! Chris and Rebecca really know how to make your reception fun and one you wont forget! They went above and beyond to ensure my wedding reception was exactly what I wanted!

Everything was very beautiful and Chris was wonderful to work with. From getting on the dance floor to tell people here was a photo booth and just looking like he was having a good time like we were was a plus.

Chris and his crew did a beautiful job for our wedding! Chris spent a great deal of time preparing for our event and it was certainly evident--songs that I didn't even think to choose for our playlist ended up being played and it was awesome, it was like he knew "us" better than we knew ourselves! We had 5 display screens that showed our monogram and even played music videos during dancing and this certainly kept the energy level up the whole time, it really added a new dimension to dinner and dancing.
Sadly, we lost my mother-in-law weeks before the big day, and I called Chris to tell him I wanted to do something special. He had me send him a few photos and he put together a beautiful photo montage in her memory--it was so lovely.
This company truly knows the meaning of customer service and went well above and beyond anything we could have ever asked for! Thank you guys!

Chris Pahl of the party people and dj and lighting company was awesome. He showed up early and stayed until the last guest left. He was very professional and kept the party going all night. And he really makes the lighting look cool. I recommend getting the uplighting package. It makes the room glow. Make sure that you hire a dj that is trained in weddings, our night smoothly moved from one section to the next.

The Party People Did an awesome job at my wedding. The dance floor was packed and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I received so many phone calls and text messages requesting their number. I'm hoping they get quiet a few booking from our wedding. The up lighting that was provided was so awesome my venue will be contacting them to use those pictures on the website. The monogram that they used really set the place and made us the center of attention loved seeing our names in lights. I highly recommend them. They saved me a lot of trips to different vendors with all of the services they offer and other vendors they know and work with.

Where do I even begin, Jeremy Jones went above and beyond our expectations. He was very organized and detail oriented which made for a great wedding. He was so great and helpful when we met with him. He was able to make an awesome playlist just by meeting with us for a few hours. It kept everyone on the dance floor all night long and we are still getting complements on our playlist (Jeremy's Playlist). He really set the tone for our wedding and did a great job keeping us on our timeline. I highly recommend Jeremy for future brides!

Chris was absolutely fantastic! He was really flexible and accommodating! Also, once we got to the reception we realized we didn't really know what we were doing with timing and everything else (even though at some point we had set a timing agenda), and Chris was great at essentially running the show. He nicely pushed us along to make sure things kept on schedule. For example, he made sure we were all ready to do our entrance (like herding cats with some of our wedding party, I don't know how he did it) cued us when it seemed like it was time to give speeches, cut dances off that seemed to long, and generally kept the night on track. A perfect MC! Also, his system for choosing songs was a lot of fun, and he did a really great job taking what we had selected and making it flow with the evening.

Overall, I cannot recommend Chris and Party People enough! It was a big weight off our shoulders that we didn't even know was there. And the fact that the dance floor was always full all night long pretty much says it all!

Chris from Party People was amazing! He kept everything at the reception on schedule and paid attention to every detail. The dance floor was never empty! He also did our up lighting which looked great! They have a great online music selection program that guides you through your music selection process with ease! A big thanks to Chris and Party People for making our night so special!

Party People is an excellent choice for a wedding! They made sure my wedding was fun for people of all ages. They had a great mix of music. Their prices are fair. I thought we really got a lot for the money. Their lights and equipment are state of the art. I was very impressed!

I had been to wedding with DJ Bob and knew instantly whenever I got married he HAD to be my DJ. Everyone was up dancing, having a good time. Three years later, i got engaged. The first thing I booked after the venue, was DJ Bob. He made my wedding so much fun. I got many compliments from the guests about how great he was. I would 100% recommend him to any bride!

A good dj can make or break a wedding reception. Party People kept my daughters reception fun, moving and memorable. Never a dull moment. Great to work with!

I was very happy with Party People DJ. Mainly because of my DJ, she was a woman which I don't see too often. I wish I could remember her name, she was just awesome. She was tall with long blonde hair. Anyway, she was so much fun. She even gave us advice on the introductions and cutting the cake, since my husband and I didn't really prepare. Since my venue was so nice already I only went with about 2 or three uplights. I choose the elegant show lighting since I am not a fan of the multiple colors, plus my pictures looked great as a result.

I was working from across the country, so I had to go by websites and reviews. I was very pleased with Party People. I went with the elegant package, as I was more interested in the actual dj part, than the light show. I think they were moderately priced - compared to others i'd found. I was more interested in spending my money on other things, so I had to be modest with the dj. I thought they did a very good job. They have a website you can fill out with all the details and all the songs you want, and don't want, played. Perfect for the organized, detail oriented bride, awful for the hurried, busy-with-other-things, indecisive bride (ME!) hahaha but in all seriousness, it's a good option to have. You could spend hours picking out your music on their database!

I was not happy with their lighting prices, which caused me to go elsewhere for that. I thought they were steep. However, in the right venue I think their lighting would have been gorgeous. I just wasn't interested in all the different things they had to offer - just the music. (which makes me different than most of their brides, I think??) The "4" on value was due to the lighting prices, not the music.

Got the crowd hype..dance floor packed ...people was complaining their feet hurt from dancing ...so he gets the job done.

Our wedding had quite a few hiccups up to the reception. When we arrived we were greeted by Chris of Party People. He was nicely dressed and ready to tie up loose ends. There were a few bumps in the road during the reception including mispronunciation of names, limited requested songs being played, volume of music being too high, and at one point a complete power failure. This was remedied by using cell phones to queue up songs in lieu of his computer dj equipment. I spoke with Chris after the event and he was more than willing to negotiate a solution. He ended up giving a partial refund a couple months later.

If you have a larger budget, you might look elsewhere. However, I would recommend Chris and his business to those that are on a tight budget and aren't too worried about strict timelines and expectations. He was very friendly and willing to listen.

-Draping looked terrible..it looked like he hung a couple of white canvas dropcloths from Home Depot. Nothing like he showed me. Turns out he decided to "double drape" without asking me.
-He played some ugly "live" version of our first dance song we have never even heard!!!!
- He did not provide the promised light show during the dancing.
- I had to follow up with him repeatedly to get our contract, make arrangements, etc. He waited until two days before our wedding to download our song list.
- He helped himself excessively to our popcorn and cupcake table. Without even asking at all. When confronted about it he basically told us we were uptight and silly.

Unproffessional One Man Show

Would not recommend!! We paid over $4,000 for wedding dj services and didn’t receive at all what we were promised by Chris Pahl. He played the wrong songs during our wedding ceremony, his equipment sounded like it was malfunctioning, he completely messed up our grand entrance despite a great deal of preparation. He was supposed to play a song during a speech and but claims he “just forgot” (his words). He sold us on decorations that he never even provided. He sold us on a “dry ice effect” but instead brought a smoke machine that sent two of my guests to the hospital after his refusal to turn it off. When we politely asked for a reimbursement of half our money, (since he only did only a quarter of what he sold us on and we were generous) we were offered only $275 refund which he never provided and refuses to return phone calls. We paid over $4,000 and did not receive anywhere near that for services. I could have done a better job with an ipod and a bluetooth speaker. His attitude was HORRIBLE the day of the wedding. He was rude and enjoyed the open bar too much that night. I can never get that day back and now cant even get our money back while he brags on facebook about his new expensive purchases. DO NOT BOOK THE PARTY PEOPLE. They (he and his wife) are extremely unprofessional and their 1-man show is amateur at best. Would not recommend.

I was appalled by this "DJ" service at our wedding. Not only was I made to feel unimportant and insignificant during the planning process, Chris was rather demanding when it came to selecting a playlist (most of which were not played during our reception). I hesitate to use the term DJ as essentially, I could have had the same effect plugging an iPod in. I'll start from the beginning. After being given phonetic explanations of our bridal party's names, and checking them 3 minutes prior to introduction, she still mispronounced them...and I'm not quite sure how you mispronounce KYLIE, but it happened. You couldn't hear her over the level of the music during the introductions, leaving my new husband and I unsure of when to enter. She played about 30 seconds or so of our first dance song during our cake cutting with apparently little to no understanding of her equipment. Emcee skills were minimal at best, making basic introductions and announcing our first dance and the father daughter dance. Beyond that, there was no engagement with our wedding whatsoever. She gave no thought to what the audience may want during the reception but spent plenty of time on her phone and hitting the bar. During open dancing, 2 songs played twice (neither were on our playlist). A member of the bridal party finally had to ask her to play something slow. The uplighting was set so far away from the wall that people were tripping, including a member of the waitstaff who fell directly into me (we purposely booked a room much larger than we needed so people wouldn't be tripping over one another or anything else). If it isn't already abundantly clear, I would NOT recommend this service to anyone.

DJ Party & Lighting was the DJ for my wedding last October and let me just say that I was far from happy. And watching our wedding video with friends and family just makes me that much more upset with each viewing.

I initially went with DJ Party & Lighting because they were voted "Best in the Region" and had a very large display at several wedding expo's that I attended. I assumed that they MUST be good! I assumed wrong. Working with DJ Party & Lighting wasn't very pleasant from the start. I had them put together a picture slide-show of me and my husband and was told that they would "try" to put them in the order I requested even though I sent them a CD of all of the pictures already in that order (Since I was so busy the night of my wedding, I still don't know if it was done correctly b/c I never received a sample slide-show) . I looked past this though and was just looking forward to the big day!

I think everyone can agree that a DJ/music is a HUGE part of their wedding day. I had a lot of my wedding songs picked out before I was even engaged. And DJ Party & Lighting managed to butcher everything that I had envisioned. It all started with the announcing of our family, bridal party and of course us. We had two sets of grandparents there, and only one set was introduced. At least 85% of the names that were announced were said incorrectly, including OUR last name - which is NOT a difficult name to pronounce. The song that played while the bridal party was walking in was not the song that I had picked out. Instead the song I picked out for me and my husband to walk into played throughout all of the announcements and throughout the entire cake cutting.

Throughout the night, a very interesting selection of songs were played. I was previously asked by DJ Party & Lighting to put together a list of approximately 60 songs to have played during the dancing hours. I spent a lot of time putting this list together and if 5 of the songs I picked were played, that would be a lot. I had a lot of oldies and your typical "wedding songs" listed and instead I got a lot of today's hits that you hear 10x a day on B96 and 103.5. Not exactly what I was going for.....not exactly what any of my guests wanted to dance to - so they didn't.

When guests requested songs, they were quickly told by the DJ that he did not have that song and/or had never heard of it, only for it to be played an hour or two later. I has SPECIFICALLY requested no electric slides prior to the wedding date, and of course, he played those.

I was later told by my photographer that when she first arrived at our reception hall, the DJ was just about in tears because he could not hook up any of the equipment and had confessed that it was his first night DJ'ing solo. I find a wedding to be a VERY bad first night for a DJ. I was expecting someone with experience, someone that could play the songs that I requested for announcements and throughout the night, and someone that could get the crowd dancing. I didn't get any of those things and I was not happy.

I contacted the owner of DJ Party & Lighting shortly after our wedding date and it wasn't until I sent several emails and texts that I finally received a response. Yes, he apologized, but I can't say that the apology was sincere. Instead it was a lot of excuses.

I am not typically one to complain, but since I was so upset with the service I received from this DJ'ing company, I just do not want anyone else to have to look back at their wedding day and be so upset with such a huge part of it.

I am horrified at how my wedding turned out. The service I received wasn't worth anything. I would have rather had NO music than what I had received. My introductions were done backwards, the "dj" is NOT who I was told was coming, my intro music was not used, NO ONE could hear any of the music we played to our first dances, and I really think my wedding was ruined just because of this company. Please do not waste any money on these people! I don't know how they can call themselves professionals when they show up in jeans and a t shirt and don't even know how to use the equipment. He had no clue! My wedding day was ruined because of this service. Screeching broke everyone's eardrums as soon as he got on the mic to do anything. The guy that Chris had thrown in to do the job he told me he would do was not even a DJ! He was a bartender at BDUBS! I DID NOT pay $2100 for a bartender at bdubs to DJ my wedding. Everyone complained.

He has YET to respond to my concerns, but a friend of mine is using him for her wedding in April and contacted him about my wedding and how terrible his services were. He responded to her, but not me. What a joke.

I also spent forever on trying to figure out what songs to play. He played about five.

He told my friend that it was "feedback" and he cannot be responsible for that. However, there was not "feedback" there was no sound! NO ONE could hear the music, and its not a big venue! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! SAVE YOUR HEART FROM THE ACHE!
