Mollie is the best!

Mollie hands down is the best photographer. She's sweet, easy to work with and it feels like you've known her forever. She is thorough with her initial meeting asking great questions to make sure we were getting the photos we want. She checks in prior to the big day to go over a timeline which is super helpful when you have no idea about making a schedule or where to start. We loved that she took charge and got our families in order to get the big group and individual photos done seamlessly. We highly recommend her for your engagement/wedding photos. The quality of her photos is perfection and you get a great mix of posed and candid.

Beautiful photos, chill process, professional communication

Paper Sun photos did our wedding and engagement pictures in 2023. The results are breathtaking and we are so happy we hired them to help document our special day. Perfect photographer for our perfect day

I wanted to work with Paper Sun as soon as I saw the bright colors and abundant joy on their website - and I’m so glad I did. Mollie and her team are warm, friendly people and they bring that out in their subjects (aka us). The photos that we have seen so far (a sneak peek with dozens, just a few days after our wedding!) are more beautiful than we ever imagined.

Book Paper Sun Photo ASAP!

Mollie was wonderful! We are so happy with our engagement and wedding photos. My husband and I aren’t usually comfortable in front of a camera, but Mollie made us feel more at ease. She was also very flexible with all the changes we had to make due to the pandemic. Highly recommend!

the dedication is chef's kiss

I have to include what started as a nightmare scenario to fully explain just how much I love Paper Sun and Mollie and Louise and Chris.

Paper Sun had to reassign the staffing at our wedding twice.

HOWEVER--in the midst of a pandemic and vendors who left us high and dry, Mollie refused to let our wedding down. When they had to restaff the team the first the time, Mollie was professional, honest, empathetic, and kind. When it happened the second time, she floored me with how she was willing to let me walk away and how honest she was that we could find second photographers.

Nope--from the first phone call with Mollie, this was a team that was sold on our wedding day vision. Mollie fell in love with our love story, us as a couple, our wedding venue, etcetera, and held the utmost professionalism when lightning, god forbid, struck twice. I could have been a mess of a stressed out bride but of all the things that were happening in the final days up to the wedding, I knew Mollie had it handled for my husband and I. And she absolutely did. From the flash drive engraved with Paper Sun to the online gallery and the contract suite, every detail is taken care of and absolutely hand crafted with the utmost detail and dedication to her craft. I LOVE Paper Sun and I'm so glad we were referred to them.

Captured Who We Are as a Couple!

My husband and I have never been "picture takers." We weren't even terribly concerned over our photography package or worried about the details when it came to our wedding photos and Paper Sun really made the whole overwhelming photography experience easy, carefree, and coordinated with our personalities and lifestyle! Mollie was so completely relaxed that she gave a true sense of ease and natural-ness to our entire day and evening! We loved working with her and are so pleased with our photos and how they really captured who we are as a couple! Thank you!

We booked Paper Sun Photography (formerly M&E Photo Studio) for our engagement and wedding photos in KC, and we are so happy we did! The moment I saw the incredible portfolio of work on their website, I knew in my heart that we had to book them for our wedding. Both our engagement and wedding photos turned out amazing and we are so in love with all of the pictures we got back! Their photographers are top notch and have the eye to shoot those intimate details you want captured forever on your big day. Chris was a breeze to work with and was very flexible when it came to scheduling our last minute engagement session. He is very personable and it was great planning with him and going over ideas, and he was very receptive to any needs that we had and was on top of communication. He was also able to work some serious magic with our tight schedule and get all of the photos we wanted! Mollie was also present on our wedding day as a second photographer and her contributions were truly fantastic! Now we have perfectly beautiful memories of our wedding that our family can treasure forever. Thank you for capturing our best day ever!

Working with Louise through our engagement and wedding celebrations was an incredible experience. I was initially drawn to M&E Photo because of the way they capture and utilize natural light in their images in a breath-taking way. After meeting with Louise I knew I wanted to work with her. She was very responsive to questions and detailed in planning which put me at ease knowing that the vision we had would be beautifully captured. I appreciated being able to piece together what I wanted as far as the photography package, our reception was not the same day as our ceremony so traditional packages would not have worked for our unique celebration. We never felt pressured to do an engagement session (other photographers didn’t give us an option not to) but I’m so glad we did. Neither my husband or I really enjoy having our picture taken so I’m glad we have professional images of us in regular clothing. The engagement session also helped us to get comfortable with getting our picture taken and posing in a way that looks natural and is honest to our personalities. I also felt more at ease on our wedding day having done the engagement session. My husband and I opted for a second photographer for our big day, and we were glad we did. Both photographers captured so many moments that we weren’t even aware of because we were so busy making sure all the details came together. We were also incredibly happy that we purchased an album. The design and quality is impeccable and such a wonderful way to revisit the memories from our wedding. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and am so appreciative of all Louise and M&E Photo Studio did to make our wedding truly unforgettable.

We ADORED working with Louise. We had talked on the phone about the specific needs of our elopement months in advance. I sought her out not just for her wedding photography but her personal art/photography. I knew she would be the perfect person. We were able to work collaboratively on a style and on a package that made sense for our specific needs. Louise was also very excited about the style that we wanted and was just genuinely thrilled to be shooting our wedding. Since we were eloping and there were only two people in attendance at our wedding - Louise being one of them. It was really important that her presence gelled with who we were and the general vibe of our elopement. Louise mad us feel comfortable, and that we had known her for a long time. Louise was very professional using her time with us wisely, scheduling right for lighting, getting us a preview next day and getting us the completed photos to us even sooner than she had quoted. Since we didn't have our family there, our pictures meant a lot to us. People can't stop telling us how AMAZING our wedding photos are and how it made them feel like they were actually there that night. People keep saying: "who was that photographer?!". We describe our wedding as magic - we had a rainbow, wind, and rain all out in the amazing New Mexican desert. Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without Louise.

We chose M&E Photo Studio right away after viewing their online portfolios. We wanted to remember our wedding day forever and the best way to capture that is to hire a fantastic wedding photographer! Mollie and her second-shooter Jaime are amazing! These ladies are friendly, professional, and overall very talented. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the little moments they were able to capture in the photos. Mollie and Emily went above and beyond making our day perfect. Thy caught so many great moments and paid close attention to many details throughout the day. Emily was exactly what we wanted in a wedding day photographer -- she captured all the emotion of the day and made looking back through her photos feel just like re-living the whole experience. She is soft-spoken but assertive; she easily controlled our large and rowdy families for portrait time. We went to a spot for a first look that wound up being much too bright for her to take good quality photos, and we really, really appreciated her willingness to improvise on the day of to make sure we got unforgettable, perfect pictures. As a note to other women prone to picture double chins (as I am), Emily coached me on how to tilt my head and position my face to get the most flattering angle. Her attention to detail in that way was impeccable! If you are on the fence about money, don't be -- these photos will truly stand the test of time, and I am so glad we invested in a high quality, creative, talented photographer. I can't say enough good things about M&E, and I don't really have to, because the pictures speak for themselves :)

For our Sunday brunch wedding, we were looking for a photographer who would capture the light-hearted, bright and fun atmosphere of the day. M&E Photography did just that. Their photojournalist style was exactly what we were looking for, and they delivered wonderful candid images that perfectly reflected the emotions, details and spirit of the day. Emily was awesome, guiding us through our planning as it related to photography. The day of, Emily and Chris were both highly responsive - finding the best shots, and moving us along to make sure we got everything in, but still being flexible and not stressing us out! The finished product was perfect. Emily really made our wedding colors pop right off the page. The shots they got were awesome, and the editing of the photos was top notch. Emily and Mollie did so well!! The day of my wedding was very stressful, but as soon as Emily got to the hotel and started taking our photos, everything started to smooth out! These girls really helped us to relax and have fun while taking our first look and wedding party photos before the ceremony! Our pictures are fantastic! There was one specific image I have had in my head since the moment it happened, hoping with all of my heart they captured it.... they did! Exactly as I remember it. My cheeks hurt by the time i finished looking through my album! I am very very happy with my experience! :)

Mollie was great! We were very pleased with how our photos turned out. We were impressed with how she was able to handle our family pictures with all the young kiddos running around everywhere. Mollie did our engagement, wedding and photo booth photography, all three of which were absolutely splendid. She is kind, patient, creative, and an incredibly pleasant person to work with--She should be considered a saint for the grace that she had in putting up with our families during our wedding day! We were all a bit of a hot mess, but somehow our photos are poised and organized! Her images are quality, her style is beautiful and unique, and she is 100% professional. Together with our families, we have enjoyed meandering through our photos and reliving moments we may have otherwise forgotten, or missed. Did we mention she has a great eye for detail? They (Mollie & Jaime) are so perceptive about what is important to their clients; They even captured multiple photos of grandpa with his camera, which could not have been more perfect. Seriously, our compliments are endless! So are our exclamation marks behind our compliments!!! Oh, and also, maybe most importantly, Mollie accepts you for you. She doesn't try to fit you into her style of photography; she applies her mad photography skills to fit your style. For that, we are sincerely grateful. Mollie & Emily are simply wonderful to work with - they helped define our vision for our big day and created wonderful memories for us to cherish forever. Their photography is simply stunning - one guest commented on how they would take just one perfect picture and then move on to the next shot - they didn't need to take hundreds of photos to get the "right" one. And that guest was certainly right - our photos were edited and sent back to us within 2 weeks and my husband and I have so many favorites. Throughout the day, we didn't even notice them, but they captured so many beautiful, candid moments. Mollie & Emily were amazing to work with and we couldn't be more pleased with our pictures! From the initial meeting through the reception, it was obvious we were dealing with pros. They had very creative ideas and gracefully worked around the bit of rain and mud during our wedding day. Our wedding was an outdoor art festival with activities happening around the grounds all day. So we were glad that we hired both of these women so that they could split up to photograph our guests having fun as well as Stacey getting ready. They captured so many awesome moments that we keep going through the pictures and finding new favorites. Simply incredible. Fresh, uplifting, and real. Emily's eye, talent, creativity, professionalism and demeanor was a perfect mix to capture unbelievable images of the special moments of our big day. Where to even begin with such a great experience with Mollie?! That is actually the most challenging part of my experience with M&E. As soon as I got engaged I knew that we would want Mollie to shoot our day and I am so incredibly happy that she was there for us! Not only were our pre-wedding meetings efficient, professional, and thorough, but they were also relaxed and incredibly enjoyable. That set the tone for our BIG day!

Even though our budget allowed for only one photographer, Mollie was a tremendous asset to capturing our memories. Our photos look just exactly the way I remember the day! Oh AND she got the very best "first kiss" pictures that I have ever seen. Truly. My husband and I can't choose which pictures to print for our mantle!!

Finding good photographers was #1 on the list when planning my wedding. I fell in love with Mollie and Emily's photography style, and after meeting them, I had no doubts I wanted them to shoot our wedding. They made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera, and it felt like we were hanging out with old friends! They answered any questions we had, and were very flexible with scheduling, etc. I was thrilled with the engagement and wedding photos. Overall, a wonderful experience!

We loved working with Mollie and Emily! They are sweet, funny, artistic ladies that made us feel so at ease on our wedding day. Our outdoor wedding portriature turned out amazing in the autumn sunset. We also loved the combination of traditional and creative images of the day....family portraits, candid shots of our friends, and details of the celebration. My partner and I used M&E Photo Studio for our wedding photography this past weekend, and they exceeded any expectation that we had going into the day. They came highly recommended to us by a friend, who is active in the Kansas City arts community, and we were blown away by their work during our consultation. Emily shot our engagement pictures and our wedding day, and I can't say enough amazing things about her. She was friendly and easy going, and she was very open to our ideas and suggestions as to the look we were after. It was clear that she wanted to customize our experience and our shooting locations to match our preferences and tastes, and she was able to offer great insight and advice regarding items to consider when make selections. While some of the pictures we took were staged, the majority captured natural interactions between my fiance and myself, which lent itself well to the "journalistic" style we wanted. Emily maintained the perfect balance between friendly demeanor to make us feel comfortable while still exhibiting professionalism and keeping our itinerary on track the day of the wedding. We have not seen our final photos yet, but I have every confidence that they will be nothing short of perfect. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Loved, loved, loved her!!

Finding the right photographer was the most difficult part of my wedding planning process. My husband left it up to me to choose whichever one I thought was best; and I probably looked through nearly every photographer in the Kansas City area. When I came across M&E Photo Studio and looked at their work, I just KNEW that they were who I wanted to capture our big day. Emily was who we worked with, and she was absolutely wonderful. She helped us come up with a customized package that fit our budget and got us everything we wanted in our wedding package. Our engagement photos turned our wonderfully, despite many reschedulings due to the crazy weather in the spring; and I cannot say enough how much I LOVE our wedding photos. Molly and Emily are very easy to work with and sat down with me and my husband and drafted a much needed schedule for the day of the wedding that we gave to all of our venders and our wedding party. I always thought that the food and drinks were the most important part of a wedding, but after ours, I learned that it’s all about the photography. I am so glad that we had M&E there to capture all of the little details that we spent months planning and making. On the day of the wedding, your thoughts are on the ceremony and pushing through each moment and on to the next, so it was so wonderful to have them both there to collect the amazing details—the hand-stamped napkins, the screen printed flags, the fun friend moments.

Mollie and Emily are a wonderful team—they can split up and seem to be everywhere at once. They are both very professional—they scouted out the event space a few days before the wedding to be sure they had all of the supplies they would need, they were friendly to everyone and they love what they do and it shows.

Besides marrying a truly wonderful guy, M&E is the one thing I am most thankful for about the wedding. The food was wonderful and the space was great--but these amazing photos will be what we have to remember the epic day for the rest of our lives. And they are stunning.

They also have great packages, in terms of getting multiple days of photos and even engagement shots. M&E keeps it simple and stress free for the bride and groom and does all of the hard work, sets up the shots, and sends the online albums to guests. They even posted a wonderful blog on their social media site about the experience.

We really made two talented friends over the wedding weekend and we will be forever grateful for their amazingly creative and awe-inspiring work. Look through their portfolio and you’ll see M&E is the team to book for your wedding. They capture the most tender, perfect moments of your wedding and it was the best wedding gift we could ever receive.

Emily and Molly at M&E Photo Studio were amazing. There are so many things we loved about working with them, but one that really stands out is their attention to details, and ability to see and capture really beautiful details and elements of the day. I really liked the fact there were two of them, so they could split up and be with me and the groom while we were getting ready. My wedding party also commented on how nice and easy going they were. It's impossible for me not to give them 5 stars across the board. For the price you pay. You get not just one, but two incredibly talented, personable, and reliable photographers that were as much a part of the wedding as any guest there. The best compliment I could give them is that my wife and I were looking for photographers based entirely by their portfolio, of which M&E's stood above the rest. And once we met with them at their Crossroads studio, we realized that they are both fun, spunky, and down for whatever you have to offer them. Throughout the wedding day, they work with you to capture the day as the mythical memory that you will always see it. And they're also so experienced between the two of them, that even as I panicked about some element that didn't even concern them, they were able to keep me focused and ease my worry.

I offer M&E photography my highest recommendation. They were a fabulous pleasure to work with, they never missed a shot, and were both lovely personalities that you too should invite to your wedding.

Emily and Mollie are super talented, fun, amazing photographers and we feel so blessed to have had them be a huge part of our wedding. As two people who really don't like getting our photos taken, we wanted to have the perfect photographers who would get amazing photos without making us feel like we were modeling for a photo shoot. Mollie and Emily did that and so much more. After meeting them the first time we saw how they are fun, bright, and positive people and they were really great to work with. They really tried to get to know us and were so flexible about what we wanted.

The engagement photo shoot was one of the best bike rides ever because we had fun and came back with amazing photos. They edited those photos very quickly so we were able to use many of them on our wedding day. The two of them were present at every moment of our wedding day from when we met up with our wedding party to get ready until late at night on the dance floor. They both caught every detail... they shot incredible photos of us getting ready, of all the details, and photos of us with our wedding party that really bring back every minute of the time leading up to our ceremony. Even our grandparents commented on how much they enjoyed Mollie and Emily.

Then the photos of our first look are magic. They captured exactly how we felt in that moment. We hardly knew they were there, yet their photos captured every detail of the first look. After our first look they captured incredible moments with our wedding party. All the candid shots of our wedding party are fun and really show everyone's personalities. Then our ceremony looks just as incredible in their photos as it felt to us. And at the reception everyone LOVED the photo booth, saying it was the best one they have ever been in, and we had so much fun looking at the hilarious photos from the booth.

Throughout the whole day, Emily and Mollie were discreet about the thousands of photos they took, and the results of their editing gave us beautiful works of art that we really treasure. Everyone has commented on how amazing our wedding photos are, and how professional our photographers were. I definitely recommend them to any friend that is looking for a photographer because I cannot imagine a better experience than what we had with M&E. Most of all Mollie and Emily are two beautiful and fun ladies that we are so glad to have gotten to know throughout the whole process!

We have the most amazing pictures from our wedding! Both Molly and Emily followed us throughout the day (which is no easy task with our crazy crowd) an produced the most amazing images that were beyond my expectations. Our wedding was crazy with everything going wrong (my venue closed 6 weeks before our date) but Molly and Emily were perfect. In the pictures you couldn't even tell that the venue for got to turn on the a/c and it was 100 degrees in side. We will continue to use there services in the future in fact they will do all of our baby photo's and I can't wait!

My husband and I are 100% ecstatic that we choose to work with Mollie & Emily for our wedding day. First of all, these ladies are really really talented. Yes, there are lots of talented photographers out there, but these girls just get it. They understand the flow of weddings, the uniqueness of each bride and groom and the special moments to be captured. They do their homework and really take the time to get to know you and know what you want out of your photos. No request is too big or small. They do their best to accommodate all your wishes. And they do a fantastic job!!

Second, they're very personable. They're so easy to get along with and just fun to be around. They want you to enjoy your wedding day and have fun! Let them joke and be silly with you. It just makes for better shots. Their energy is upbeat and positive and it really helps when you're in wedding stress mode. Having calm and happy energy around you is priceless. Plus, not only will you have amazing pictures from your day but you'll also gain two new friends!

Third, they're professional and get the job done. They leave no stone unturned. You'll have tons of images to choose from (I think we had around 800) and each one will be special and capture your heart. Getting lots of group shots can be tedious and cumbersome but they have a way of making it easy and fast and fun! Also, at some point they turn into super secret stealth ninjas and you don't even realize they're around. All I know is, once our wedding started I have no memory of seeing either one of them at the event...but somehow we ended up with all these amazing photos. So, they're very unobstrusive and have a special way of not interfering with any of the activity of the event. That may not seem like a big deal but it is. Who wants someone walking around with a camera in their face all night??! Not me!

Last, you get two great photographers for one great price. I challenge you to find another photography package out there with the skill level these ladies possess at the price they offer. I can't tell you what a blessing it was to have both of them present for the entire day (not just 6 hours...or 8 hours...but the ENTIRE day) and have both of their perspectives on our wedding. One of them would capture candid images while the other did still shots. Let's face it, weddings are expensive...but you don't have to sacrifice quality to fit your budget. With Mollie & Emily you get AMAZING quality for a reasonable amount of money. It's a win-win.

Mollie & Emily are just fantastic and I can't say enough wonderful things about them. They're an absolute pleasure to work with and I'm so happy that we entrusted such an important part of our day to them. The photos are the only tangible memories you have of your day. They capture the love and happiness you were feeling into something you can look at and cherish always. Don't trust that to just anyone. Give that honor to someone who really wants to know you and what you're about. Mollie & Emily love their clients as much as their clients end up loving them. Do yourself a favor and hire them!!

Personally speaking, I searched for the right photographers for months, but did not find a combination of talent, character, and value until I met Mollie and Emily. Emily is awesome. And so is Rita! And they're both cute as can be and very beautiful ladies, inside and out. If you want quality, artistic photographs that are REAL, these are the girls for you. These are photo journalistic photos, not sears photo studio posed photos. Posed is not her style. Emily and crew photograph what is actually happening. BUT- If you want posed family photos or some cutesy posed photos, no problem. You get those also. If you want a special pose, let Emily know. She'll do whatever you want and she'll do it well. But her photos are really about what's happening in the moment, not about standing side-by-side and staring into the camera, so if you want some of those, speak up! You'll get it. Have that grumpy relative who refuses to smile? She'll get a photo of them smiling. If it's possible, she will! They are people who make you want to hang out with them all the time. They are just awesome. And do the engagement session before hand- that way, you get to know the photographer and they get to know you. Photos are so important. After all, after the wedding, all you really have left are the photos. Invest in these girls. It's totally worth it and you won't be sorry.

Molly with M&E was amazing to work with. We are a very untraditional couple and she captured that perfectly. Who knew we were so photogenic!! Since we were planning a very small wedding she quoted a price specifically for us, no package deal your stuck with. Our proofs were ready within 30 days just as she promised and she did a few touch items for me no questions asked. We hope to use her services again however we are hopeful it will be for another life event besides a marriage. ;)
