DELICIOUS Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party

Our Southern themed Rehearsal Dinner was a great hit! The bride is vegetarian, so they suggested a grits bar. Fantastic Gruyere cheese grits with toppings such as shrimp, braised beef, shredded pork, additional cheese, green onions & hot sauce. The spring salad, roasted vegetables and cornbread with pepper jelly were all amazing. We got lots of compliments. The specialty drink, ginger bourbon tea, was a perfect touch. Appetizers and deserts were equally delicious! Not many leftovers because they “ate it up!” They thoughtfully packaged up leftovers and sent them home with us. Honestly, our food surpassed the wedding meal of Maryland crab cakes done by a different caterer🙄. Hire Palate Pleasers for any important event!!

The wedding cake was delicious!

My partner and I had done several wedding cake tastings, and Palate Pleasers was the best! Their italian buttercream was the right balance of sweet and light, and the cake flavors tasted fresh and pure. They were very flexible to help us design our cake (2 flavors with 2 different fillings) and even how to coordinate the proportions based on the number of guests. They were also flexible to include a few gluten and dairy free cupcakes for some of our guests. And they even delivered it to our reception venue! I highly recommend them for your wedding cake.

Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough good things! My husband and I decided to work with Palate Pleasers to cater our wedding and it was the best decision!

Most importantly, Amy (the executive chef) made the menu so personalized to us.

She helped put together an incredible meal that matched our personalities perfectly. Because I am a vegetarian, she suggested a caprese salad with a tomato carving station. I repeat, a fresh tomato caving station. My friends and family could not stop talking about it. My husband has a big sweet tooth and loved the idea of an ice cream bar with all the homemade toppings. It was delicious.

The company is also family owned and operated. One of my favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process was driving to Annapolis with my mom to meet with Amy Daniels and her family. They had so many creative ideas and made the entire process fun!

It was supposed to be a 15 minute stop by but we ended up chatting with their team for more than 90 minutes. You can tell they love the work that they do... and it shows!

Great food at an affordable price. Highly recommend!

Perfection

Our entire experience with Palate Pleasers was phenomenal. Amy and Sally are so helpful and knowledgeable, and we loved working with them from day 1. When we had to adjust our plans due to Covid, they were super flexible and helpful in coming up with a new, safe plan. Everything was absolutely perfect! It was so much better than I could have ever imagined. The staff set up our tables beautifully, the food was absolutely incredible, and the servers were professional and fun! We received so many compliments about the food and service. I absolutely recommend them for any catering needs you have! We will exclusively be using them in the future!

Superior Food and Service

I can't say enough wonderful things about Palate Pleasers. The food, the service, their enthusiasm and their willingness to try something new and perfect it for our daughter's wedding--everything was incredible. Many guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had, including one friend who is a caterer herself. They also catered our post-wedding brunch, which, although less formal, was equally superior in quality and service. I cannot recommend Palate Pleasers more highly.

Father of bride

We did an early taste test and the food was excellent but there were only six of us bride groom and parents filet. Crab cakes aspergus potatoes and desserts every thing was excellent. There were 136 guests at the wedding everyone said the food was phenomenal. Raw oysters as appetizers were the best I have ever had. The name is correct they are definitely Palate Pleasers

Palate Pleasers was top notch!

From the very first meeting with them we knew they would be wonderful. The food was the very best that we've ever been served at a wedding and arrived hot and tasty. All of the staff was professional and helpful. Would definitely highly recommend them!

Great Experience!

We loved working with Palate Pleasers! They gave us everything we asked for and more! We had a different idea for a wedding dessert and after meeting with several caterers, Palate Pleasers were the only caterers that would give us our vision. The team they provided us on the day of the wedding was excellent and everything went so smoothly! Amy and Sally are great to work with, and we will definitely be using them again in the future!

Delicious food, professional and stress free, wonderful family!

I would highly recommend palate pleasers to absolutely anyone! They are an amazing family, very professional and easy to work with! They were very flexible with changes to our plans up until even the day of the wedding. Amy, Sally, and Eric take pride in their work and work hard to ensure you are happy with every detail! The food was delicious and we got many many compliments from family and friends. I loved every second of working with this family!

We did our research and hands down chose Palate Pleasers. The food was fantastic and I am still getting calls from the guests raving about them. They were easy to work with and very accommodating. My husband and I had the pleasure of using Palate Pleasers as our wedding caterer in April 2018. We had initially been considering a small wedding reception at a restaurant to minimize the catering decisions. When we fell in love with a venue that required an outside caterer we had concerns, especially since I have a gluten-free diet restriction. Selecting Palate Pleasers turned out to be a fantastic decision. Amy and Eric were a joy to work with. Every step of the process was great. They made planning our menu easy and accommodated my diet restrictions perfectly. Our entire menu, minus one item was gluten-free so that I didn’t have to worry about cross-contamination. We chose to have a simpler menu that would be enjoyable for our adult and child guests alike. Amy and Eric were both open and receptive to our request to include chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese as part of that menu. We also chose to have a small wedding cake separate from pick-up deserts for our guests. Eric and Amy had a suggestion for a cake style, which we loved and the bakers at Palate Pleasers executed flawlessly. Our guests raved about the food. We’ve had multiple inquiries from various guests about recreating some of the items from our menu (especially the kielbasa hors d'oeuvres and stuffed peppers). The servers were very friendly and helpful throughout our reception. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience beginning to end.

We have also had the opportunity to stop in the store front and pick-up some treats. I have yet to try something I didn’t want more of. If you are gluten free, I strongly encourage you try their brownies and pumpkin cookies (when in season). If you are on the market for a caterer, consider Palate Pleasers whether it’s for something elegant or casual, your guests will thank you.

The entire team at Palate Pleasers is hands down, PERFECT! My husband and I went in to meet with Amy and Sally looking for steak and crab cakes for our wedding...but really, we had no idea what we wanted. All we knew is we loved their food from other events we've been too and they've catered. And, we're local so I go in there at least 3 times a week for a ceasar salad for lunch =)

Amy and Sally literally changed our whole approach to the wedding. They asked about US and what kind of food we liked and came up with the most creative menu! Taco bar? Yes please! Fried chicken skewers? Yes, we'll take those too! Popcorn later? YES YES YES. They came up with a menu that I never could have imagined. We wanted a fun, laid-back approach to everything at our wedding and they brought that to life for us. From recommending we have a standing ceremony, to food stations (not a full-on buffet), to frozen orange crushes at cocktail hour...they nailed it. It was personal and felt like "us". Family and friends are still talking about how delicious/fun the food was and the frozen orange crushes were a HIT!

Aside from the amazing food Palate Pleasers creates, they are really running a great family business. Their employees have been there forever, everyone was happy and that love was felt at our event. They felt like family that day. Amy and Sally popped in to see Chris and I before our ceremony and wish us well. All of the leftover food was packaged up and sent home with us...we left with probably a months worth of yummy leftovers! We had a donut bar for dessert, but Palate Pleasers made us a small cake to cut and picked flowers from one of their family members yard to put on top! My mother-in-law ripped the zipper in her dress and one of their lovely employees came to the rescue with safety pins. Everything they did was so special, helpful and thoughtful. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I can't recommend them enough. If you're looking for a caterer for ANY event, go with Palate Pleasers!

We met Palate Pleasers at a bridal show, and their flavors and presentation really caught our attention. They then put together an amazing menu that truly represented what we were hoping for, at a reasonable price. They were super accommodating to changes and dietary restrictions, and really made absolutely delicious food with beautiful and fresh ingredients. To top it all, they are a family business that is run by very pleasant and kind people who clearly love what they do, and put heart and soul into their work - it shows every step of the way and it's inspiring. People say the bride and groom never eat at their own wedding - we sat down and ate a full serving of each part of the menu, and it was phenomenal. We had also provided recipes for specialty drinks, and they got them down perfectly.
In the end, we got countless compliments on the food and service, and - oh, the cake! - it was stunning and so, so, so good (disclaimer: the cake tastings they do are usually frozen cake since they can't bake a whole cake for each tasting, so not exactly representative of the final product).
Honestly, in the months/weeks leading up, they seemed to have a pretty good hold of things and I just trusted/hoped they would do a great job because I was too busy worrying about other stuff, and I'm so glad we lucked out with a talented, reliable, professional, and budget-conscious team.
The caterer is SUCH a big part of a wedding, and they were truly one of the BEST parts and one of my favorite teams for ours. I would recommend them 100%.

Amy and Sally at Palate Pleasers made our wedding so easy and low stress. I am really not a planner and they helped us to put together a beautiful wedding without making me crazy. Sally decorated the venue beautifully with very little direction from me and Amy's food was incredible. I had so many people tell me it was the best wedding food they'd every had -- the steak was even really cooked medium rare which I had never had at a catered event before! The staff that was onsite during the event was also great and were so excellent about accommodating a number of dietary quirks so that all my guests could enjoy everything. On top of everything, we received quotes from a number of caterers and PP was BY FAR the most reasonable. I would highly recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Sally and Amy are awesome. They helped us plan our menu and we are still getting compliments on how good the food was. They are not the cheapest but have the best quality and service. We were served appetizers during our photos and served our salad and meal when we were ready to eat. They also made our cake which was a naked 3-tier carrot cake and everyone loved it. If you want high quality food that everyone will love and compliment, I highly recommend Palate Pleasers.

I had the best/easiest time working with Eric from palate pleasers. I set time with Eric to do a small tasting before ordering. Eric had to adjust the schedule, so instead of a tasting, he set my husband and me up for a fabulous picnic! We got to try a little bit of everything and got a full plate of different cake options. It was definitely a highlight of our wedding planning process. Once we decided what we wanted, Eric and his team took it over from there. Everything was ready and perfect for us on our day. Days following our wedding, our guests were still talking about the flank steak! Would recommend again in a heartbeat.

Sally, Amy, and their team at Palate Pleasers have an exceptional reputation for good reason. We couldn't have been happier with them for our wedding reception at Annapolis Maritime Museum. They let us design our menu with their help to have a farm-to-table seasonal menu. They have the ideas and experience to add the elements that take your event to the next level, e.g espresso shots with gelato and the most amazing cheese spread I've ever seen. They were accommodating to all our requests, especially last minute ones we made the week of, and made our day worry free. Their food is exceptional but so is their service. My experience with Palate Pleasers was excellent from start to finish. I was given very accurate pricing, and a ton of great menu options starting out. I asked more than my fair share of questions (as most Brides do) and Amy (chef and owner) always responded quickly with helpful information. After we decided to book Palate Pleasers (it was a no brainer), we stayed in touch over the course of our 1.5 year engagement, talking about options, prices, and ideas. The tasting was fabulous and so much fun. You really got the sense that Amy and Sally really cared about your day and how everything turned out, which is just priceless. They were very detail-oriented which I so appreciated with all the moving pieces of a wedding. When the big day finally arrived, I had complete confidence that the Palate Pleasers crew was going to do everything just right – and they did! The food was delicious, the cake exceeded my expectations, and the staff was very courteous and hard working. I will definitely be using Palate Pleasers again in the future, love them!!!

We used Palate Pleasers for our wedding cake. I planned my entire Annapolis wedding from San Diego so as I inquired around town I was a little nervous about picking out a cake without ever trying it. Eric from Palate Pleasers was incredibly responsive to my emails (always responding the same day), sending pictures of wedding cakes they had created similar to the one I wanted, and being SO flexible that they allowed me to try cake the week before the wedding! This was especially crucial as I already knew I was getting married on one of the busiest weekends of the year in Annapolis. They created exactly what I wanted, arrived and delivered the cake without anyone except the reception venue staff present, and my guests RAVED about how delicious our cake was! Anytime my husband and I go back to Annapolis for events we will be using Palate Pleasers for ALL of our catering needs.

We actually went a non-traditional route with our wedding cake. We elected to have a small 6" cake for the cake cutting portion of our reception. We did this because we had a fall wedding and went with pies as the desserts for the guests (apple, pumpkin, berry, etc.) We LOVED our small cake from Palate Pleasers. Although we didn't have a large wedding cake from Palate Pleasers, I would recommend their desserts -- for special occasions, I pick up Palate Pleasers' cupcakes!

Loved working with mother-daughter duo Sally and Amy! They came up with a great menu that was executed perfectly. All of our guests raved about how great the food was and how pleasant the staff was. They handled everything from rentals of linens, tent, tables and chairs, to set up and clean up. Would definitely recommend them!

Palate pleasers did my food for my reception. First off, the food was beyond AMAZING. I had multiple people say that our chicken dish was the best chicken they had ever had. Sally worked with us and made my stress disappear when it came with the food and alcohol. She ordered the alcohol through a distributor they work with. She ordered all of my rentals so there was truly nothing to worry about. They worked with my budget and allowed my husband and I to do some monthly payments. I would recommend them to anyone!

I would HIGHLY recommend Palate Pleasers to any bride! I met with Eric to do my tasting and discuss the design of my cake. Everyone was extremely friendly in the shop. Eric was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The picture I brought with me was of an extremely intricate lace design overlay on a four tier cake. Eric said that wouldn't be a problem to replicate and he was correct! The first couple of samples Eric personally did not like so he painstakingly searched the internet for the picture I brought in and then ordered the exact molds from that cake! I was blown away by how much he cared about making my cake perfect! The day of my wedding the cake was absolutely beautiful and looked just like I wanted! We had four different flavors of cake and they were all delicious! I would definitely recommend Palate Pleasers to anyone who wants to pay a GREAT price and get exceptional service!

We have known and loved Palate Pleasers for years so when we got engaged we honestly didn't consider any other caterer! The food they produce, particularly for large events, is so impressive. We went with a French theme for our reception food as we met in France and wanted to honor that connection. We had appetizers including Mini croque monsieurs, French-style pizzas, fresh oysters, cheeses, etc. Our main courses included boeuf bourguignon, mushroom tarts, trout, and more, and it was all divine. The boeuf bourguignon especially was so rich and flavorful. I can't tell you how many people commented on how good the food was.

Dessert was my main priority and we ended up with an amazing dessert tower including four cupcake flavors, mini chocolate mousse cups, mini lemon tarts, and mini apple tarts. They were all excellent and made me very happy!

The only feedback I would share is that I think they might benefit from having an organized office manager to help keep things straight. We had a couple small hiccups--when we arrived at the reception only 9 tables were set up instead of 10. Luckily we had arrived early to confirm everything was ready and when I pointed it out to the person overseeing setup it was very quickly fixed, with a 10th table setup within a minute. We also noticed that during all of our preparation meetings they were taking notes on a legal pad and then ripping off the page and putting it in our folder. There were a couple small details and changes that did not get implemented and I imagine it was due to the organization system.

They also catered a few lead up events during the wedding week and everything was flawless. They took great care in coordinating the menus for each event to make sure nothing was repeated so our guests enjoyed a variety of foods. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are so glad Palate Pleasers did all our catering. I can't wait to put in an order for our first anniversary dinner and cake!!

Our experience with Palate Pleasers was fantastic! I had gone to several cakeries in Annapolis and Baltimore looking for some inspiration and great tasting wedding cake. Only a few, but once I talked to Palate Pleasers, I knew my search was over. I had seen a picture of a wedding cake that I fell in love with and was told that it would be very expensive since the flowers would have to be done in Fondant. I made an appointment with Eric @ Palate Pleasers, and immediately, he told me that it wouldn't be a problem to do the flowers in the buttercream icing. When I tasted the cake, fillings and icing I had chosen for our wedding cake, I was so thrilled with the high quality of the ingredients. The cost was exceptionally reasonable. We even had other mini desserts as options and they were great, too. Once our wedding day arrived and I saw the cake, I was So Impressed!! The cake looked exactly as I had envisioned and everyone RAVED about the taste!! Palate Pleasers is THE place to go for your wedding cake.

Palate Pleasers provided absolutely wonderful food for our wedding, and were very willing to work with me on the menu. The serving staff arrived on time, were neat and tidy, and unobtrusive during the wedding. I recommend the warm crab dip as an appetizer, and the salmon as a main course, since my guests raved about both! They offered to provide everything that was needed for a home wedding, thus saving me lots of time and stress. I would recommend them for a wedding or other special event. They know their business well, and made this special day easier by being so professional.

I can't say enough amazing things about this team! Everything from start to finish was so easy, fun, and professional with them. They were so helpful in giving us suggestions and guiding us with making food selections for our wedding. The taste testing was amazing and we were so excited to eat at our wedding!! They did a site visit and went over all of the details with me so we made sure we had everything set and I could relax! They also really worked with our budget so that we could still have amazing food that was affordable. Everyone loved our wedding food and my groom and I enjoyed it immensely! It was fresh, flavorful and beautifully set up! I couldn't thank them enough on the wedding day for providing such wonderful food and quality service. I didn't have to worry at all!! Eric Daniels and his staff at The Palate Pleasers are fantastic. From the "tasting" to emailing each other some ideas and options for decorations, they are great in customer service. Not to mention the FANTASTIC chocolate cake with raspberry filling decorated EXACTLY like our invitation. It was just the perfect sweetness and everyone was RAVING about how delicious it was. It was delivered intact and timely. Very professional and delicious. Needless to say, I'll be using their services. For birthdays, anniversaries, and for any other "just because".

Palate Pleasers swooped in to save the day about four months prior to our wedding after our previous caterer unfortunately went out of business. They were able to pick up exactly where we had left off and fulfilled our dream menu of mexican food meets backyard bbq food. Sally was great and understood exactly what I wanted and got all of my visions, as offbeat as they may have been. Everything turned out amazing, the food was perfect and the waitstaff was a delight.

I loved my cake for the wedding!! So many of our guests were raving about it. We used fresh cut hydrangeas for the decorations and it looked amazing. I was so happy with everything!

I loved working with Sally and Amy to provide the catering for my wedding day. They were so friendly and helpful with every aspect of the wedding planning and gave me honest advice on what my best options were. They were very flexible with my budget to give me the very best food and service for our money. I really liked that they only charge for the service hours billed by their staff, and are conscious to send servers home at the end of the night to save on costs. They also honored my request to recycle all bottles and cans and Amy prepared a special menu of locally sourced seasonal food for us. She also prepared a special white peach sangria for our cocktail hour, which was a huge hit! All of their food and desserts were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend their catering to anyone planning an event in the Annapolis area!

John and I were married on 11-11-11. Our wedding was planned in 3 weeks because we decided we wanted this special date to be our special date! I found a cake online; it was beautiful. I printed then faxed the copy of it to you. The cake I fell in love with had the beautiful colors of fall in cascading leaves and small decorative pumpkins. I remember you called me and said “Yes, I can make this cake”. I was so excited. The first thing I did after we were introduced at the reception was the first dance with my new husband. The second thing I did was go check out the cake. I couldn’t believe my eyes; it was perfect. The cake I fell in love with on paper was now sitting before me. I hated to cut the cake, but I had too! It was the most moist and tastiest cake I had ever eaten. In fact, everybody said it was wonderful. I will forever be grateful to Palate Pleasers.

We absolutely LOVED Palate Pleasers! They catered our wedding reception and provided the wedding cake and everything was wonderful. This was the best cake I have ever had. Normally I just eat the frosting...but this cake was delicious. We had the almond cake, with raspberry fill on one layer, and almond brittle on the next, covered in buttercream frosting. It was beautifull decorated...all I had to do was bring a picture of what I wanted it to look like...and it was done! The cake tasting was a lot of fun--and they have so many choices on flavors and cake styles. I definitely recommend palate pleasers to anyone that wants guests chowing down on their cake!

LOVED THEM! Loved working with Sally - she had excellent suggestions, but was also responsive to our desires. Food was fab - everyone said it was the best they had ever had at a wedding. People are still bringing it up 2 weeks later! They were also especially kind and willing to hold a lsot while I worked out details - thanks for all your patience!

They paid excellent attention to detail and made sure that we (the bride and groom) got fed and watered at regular intervals! Very key!

They also accomodated a primarily gluten free diet AND EVEN MADE A GLUTEN FREE CAKE in addition to the normal one. My celiac and allery filled family was DELIGHTED!

We really enjoyed selecting this husband-and-wife team as our wedding caterer. We married aboard Schooner Woodwind in Annapolis, MD. Palate Pleasers prepared food that was perfect for an outdoor wedding -- didn't need to be heated or cooled, served in attractive baskets, easy to set up, etc. And the CAKE! The guests raved over its exquisite taste, especially because most wedding cakes cost a fortune, look fantastic, yet don't taste that great. This cake was reasonable, decorated just as we asked, and DELICIOUS to boot. One tier was lemon with lemon curd and fresh raspberry filling, and the other tier was chocolate filled with chocolate ganache and raspberries. Amy was very nice and helpful at our cake tasting and had an easy system for choosing our favorites. Good experience.

Palate Pleasers is known to have amazing cakes and they did not disappoint! When we went in for our tasting we couldn't decide on just one cake so we chose 4! Red velvet, chocolate ganache, almond, and even the yellow cake were scrumptious! They decorated them beautifully without any guidance from me. Every anniversary we plan on trying a different kind!

Palate Pleasers did a wonderful job on my cake. I wanted something simple, but elegant and they gave that to us. I am not a big sweets eater, and they gave u a great suggestion. They suggested we include fresh blueberries and peaches in the cream layer inside the cake. That was perfect for me and for our outdoor summer wedding. They were responsive, the cake was delivered on time, it was delicious and MOIST!

Amy and the whole family were so easy to work with and were wonderful. All of their desserts were delicious and we had trouble choosing exactly what we wanted! We ended up having a cake and finger desserts because they were so good.

The Palate Pleasers were a fantastic company to work with! They made my wedding day beautiful and delicious. The two weeks before my wedding there were several back and forth phone calls to discuss decor choices, but I could have never guessed how beautiful they would have made my venue. They really went above and beyond. The staff at my reception were incredibly professional and attentive, yet completely unobtrusive. Don't even get me started on the food! My mother in law told me after the wedding that she didn't feel like she was at a wedding, but instead a gourmet restaurant. I had so many compliments on the food and all of them were valid. When my husband and I got home from our honeymoon a week later we were surprised to find that my parents had dropped some of the leftovers in our freezer. Let me tell you that was the highlight of our day. I would recommend this catering company to anyone and can't wait to find an excuse to use them again!

Tasty food and attentive staff!

Amy worked hard to design a menu that matched both our budget and our tastes! At the tasting we asked her to make a few adjustments, and by the day of the wedding everything was perfect. We could really tell she had taken our notes and the recipes were just right.

A great thing about Palate Pleasers is that their menu is just representative. For example, we wanted salmon and chicken dishes that were slightly different from what is listed on the menu. Amy had a quick call with us, made some suggestions based on what ingredients would best be in season the day of our event, and whipped up new items for the tasting.

I also can't speak highly enough about the staff at Palate Pleasers. Our wedding was outdoor under tents, and the service was so quick that the ice had no chance to melt before everyone was sipping cocktails. The bar staff in particular deserve gold stars for keeping me and my groom well supplied with water throughout the very warm evening. Did I mention the cake yet? Almond cake with buttercream icing, absolutely to die for. Everyone was kind and accommodating. No complaints, the event was a rocking success. Unfortunately I don't have any photos because I was too excited to eat to wait for pictures...!

Palate Pleasers did a great job with the catering of our wedding! We loved working with Amy, Sally and Bobbi. We really appreciated the suggestions that Amy made for our food choices and everything tasted delicious! Sally and Bobbi helped us plan the logistics and little details. Their planning experience and understanding of the Annapolis area/vendors/venues really helped us feel comfortable that everything would be executed perfectly! A couple of times we found them tough to get in touch with through email, however, it was nothing urgent and they did follow up. Overall, we received many compliments on the food and couldn't have asked for a better reception. They really did a great job and we would recommend them to anyone!

Our cake was so beautiful. We chose to do a 2 tier decorated cake to cut and save and the rest was in 4 sheet cakes that were pre-cut and displayed for our guests. It saved us a ton of money and was so fun because we were able to pick 4 different flavors and fillings to give our guests a variety. There was plenty of cake left over and my family loved eating the leftovers for weeks. The service was excellent and really worked with our designs. Their catering is great too, but our venue had its own catering. I would have loved to use them for food as well.

The Palate Pleasers were an awesome caterer. Amy, the cook, made the most phenomenally delicious food - wonderful crab cakes, amazing hors d'oeuvres, and seemingly simple, but unbelievably delicious breaded chicken and mashed potatoes! Everyone at Palate Pleasers was extremely friendly and helpful, we got a lot of wonderful help in picking all our dishes - and I couldn't have been happier with the results! They're pretty laid back, but did everything to a T. They sent a great day-of coordinator, Michael, and they handled all the rentals, set everything up and made it all look great - and everything turned out perfectly! Everyone there the day of was extremely professional and unobtrusive. We would definitely highly recommend them for all your catering needs!

Palate Pleasers provided excellent catering for our wedding! The food was absolutely amazing, and our guests are still raving about it! They were very accomodating about meeting with me over the weekend, as I was out-of-town, as well as helping me create a menu that included a family recipe, and other unique selections. They were a little slower than I would prefer with returning emails, but I think that was more due to their new internet based services rather than lack of professionalism. We did have two concerns with them re: one of our rental items (which they arranged for) and the specific decoration of the cake, however they were responsive about both of these and made changes in our final bill to reflect this. The cake was delicious as well- just be sure to include a detailed description of design elements. Overall, Palate Pleasers did a great job, and I would highly recommend them as a caterer!

Palate Pleasers is a must use caterer for your event! If you want kind servers and delicious food this is your place. They are a local Annapolis spot, casual, flexible and easy to work with - but don't let that fool you on their "professionalism" - they beyond delivered and even worked out some venue issues without a blink. They made it as easy as possible trusting us and not adding on any additional stress. I would, and likely will, use them again in a heart beat!

We had been to events catered by the Palate Pleasers in the past, and that is why we chose them to cater our wedding. They are very easy to work with, and met with us to make suggestions based on our event. They were extremely flexible, and allowed us to make changes easily. They are pretty laid-back as someone else mentioned; this has both pros and cons, but it's mostly a good thing because they're not in to high pressure sales. Prices are very reasonable, and they are up-front about their costs, which we didn't get with a lot of the other area caterers (everyone else seemed to want to hide their price list until we had decided on a menu which seemed a little backward to us!). Emails were always answered, but phone calls sometimes were unreturned and I had to call back. Overall, everything went well and we were pleased with their services. We would recommend them.

The food was amazing! Amy, the head chef, really knows her stuff and works with you to create a perfect menu. She accommodated my very specific requests, like our desire for wild salmon and to provide our own family made crab cakes, without a problem! Guests are still raving about the food. The day of staff were polite and seamless as they served food and cleared the tables. From the food perspective you can't go wrong with Palate Pleasers. My issue with their services was from a communication standpoint. Amy was great and answered my questions promptly so I never worried about the menu. The communication was an issue when it came to some of the rentals and last minute logistics which were handled by someone else. I'll admit that I typically worry more than most people, but I worked with many vendors to plan my backyard wedding (photographer, day of coordinator, DJ, house rental, restroom rental, boat rental, cake baker, hair stylist, flowers, etc) and have given them all amazing reviews so clearly communication goes a long way with me. I was up worrying about details regarding this vendor up until the day before my wedding (which you shouldn't have to do). In hindsight, everything worked out and the food was great so overall I am satisfied. I just wish the execution of their services was much smoother and involved less stress.

Something I tried to remember throughout this entire wedding planning process is that for the new bride, it's our first time doing any of this, but the vendor is a professional and they know their stuff. On one hand, this can help to put your mind at ease because as in this case, at the end of the day they pulled it all together. But on the other hand, certain vendors, including this one sometimes forget that they know their business and we don't, so communication is really important to put a bride at ease (because we all know we have a million and one things going on!)

Palate Pleasers cannot be beat when it comes to high quality food selections, and since I had previously worked in a venue where we served their food, I knew we must have them cater our wedding. Everyone from out of town was excited about crab cakes, and Palate Pleasers did not disappoint in that aspect. It was also great that they coordinated with the local liquor distributor, arranged table rentals, and placed our centerpieces on the tables. Unfortunately, similar to some of the reviews below, we had some odd and unprofessional mishaps that could have easily been avoided. Forgetting to decorate the cake was a big one, for example, and this was due to poor communication earlier in the process. There were so many people involved, but messages were not given to the staff who would actually be there on the wedding day or the cake decorator. The table wine service and bar service was pretty quick, but unprofessional, as they were mixing different types of wines without asking when refilling, serving shots against our explicit wishes, and going out of their way to offer drinks to people they knew outside of the venue. We have mentioned these things to Palate Pleasers and were given many excuses, and claims that this is how they operate and have been pleasing clients for many years, which was not satisfying. I highly recommend the food from Palate Pleasers, but strongly recommend against ordering cake through them or using their bartenders, so I cannot give the highest recommendation.

Hi Aubrei, thank you for your comments. We enjoyed working with you for your event and hope that the items that you highlighted didn't spoil your day. Just to clarify a few points that we responded to you via email after your event, we always bring our cakes undecorated to the site. The cake was decorated before any guests arrived and on display as it should have been when your guests arrived to the venue. On service of shots, we spoke to our bartenders before hand and they were given explicit directions not to serve them. In fact, we had one of your guests upset because they refused to make a mixed drink with the rum that was briefly seen on top of the bar to make more of your specialty beverage. On offering drinks to off site guests, as we discussed in our email, Amy (our Executive Chef), and myself (General Manager), did arrive by boat and pulled up to the dock late in the event as it was winding down to ask our bartender on the deck how everything was going. He did bring out 2 bottled beers, which we refused and told him that it was not appropriate. He only did this as a gesture to us as his bosses, not to random strangers or friends. Again I hope that you enjoyed your event overall and I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the crab cakes that Amy upsized to 5oz as a gift for you as she knew it was a highlighted menu item for your reception.

Pros: our event was awesome, with only one minor hiccup on the day itself (forgotten aisle runner, a bummer but could've been worse). They helped us put together a fun menu, and the quote was reasonable relative to others we'd received. We liked supporting a local, family-owned business. All in all, we did have a fabulous wedding day and Palate Pleasers certainly played a role in that!

Cons: Unfortunately, I would say dealing with Palate Pleasers was one of the more stressful aspects of wedding planning, largely due to communication. We first met with Amy for our tasting and were pleased. We didn't realize that our actual POC was going to be Amy's mother Sally, but we met with her a few times after signing and all seemed to be moving along.. but when I tried to discuss details with Sally via email, my questions went unanswered for months. When following up I was told repeatedly that they had other weddings to attend to and basically got the feeling that they just didn't care about ours until it was a few weeks out. I understand that they're busy but in this specific industry, ideally the customer would feel appreciated and like they are important to you at all times, not just in the final weeks. Right before the wedding, I received an email that made me feel like i were bothering them by requesting one final phone call to run through everything (we ended up not having it - and they had questions after all/the aisle runner was forgotten). I was also told that all my "specific ideas" (aka my certain hopes/requests, i think thats normal?) made Sally feel like the "fun of planning was taken out of it for her." I felt bad if that was the case but we were paying for a service so that was an odd comment.

All in all, I would recommend Palate Pleasers if you don't want to bother with the little details - awesome for you if so! However, we wanted to be involved in all that stuff and ended up feeling like we were a nuisance. I told them this feedback, hope its helpful!

Palate Pleasers worked with us to create a wonderful plan for our wedding. Unfortunately, there were several errors ranging from minor to major that left us feeling less than thrilled with the results. They were responsive in attempting to make corrections, but so many and such significant mishaps shouldn't have happened in the first place. The food that they prepared was, however delicious and earned many compliments from everyone in attendance.

Palate Pleasers actually did our wedding cake for us. Our consultation was great, the owner was very nice. Our cake definitely tasted better than it looked. It looked like the decorations were rushed which was too bad because it was tasty.
