Amazing experience with Paella time
Paella time and their staff were nothing but helpful during our special day. Chef Gio does an amazing job with the Paella he even included our initials on them. It was a nice touch while we took pictures with the chef. Amazing food and we felt tooken care of by the rest of the staff. Thanks to them all our guest left happy and full. -

Paella Time Catering was amazing from start to finish! The tapas were absolutely delicious. My favorites were the albondigas (slow braised meatballs), solomio (steak with veggies), and the ham with fresh melon. For the main course, they served seafood paella, chorizo and chicken paella, and a vegetarian paella, and every single one was fantastic. To top it all off, dessert was the best tres leches cake I’ve ever had! The food presentation was beautiful and really elevated the experience. I highly recommend Paella Time Catering for any event! You won’t be disappointed. -

I was a guest to my cousin’s wedding, Paella Time delivered! They were very friendly and the food was out of this world, their appetizers were so delicious and the servers were very polite and professional, the jewel of the crown was the seafood paella, it had squid, shrimp, salmon, mussels, etc just a explosion of flavor in my mouth. 100% recommended. -

Paella Time catered our wedding, and from start to finish, they were absolutely phenomenal. One of the most unforgettable moments was when one of their team members, completely unprompted, began playing the venue’s piano and singing during our first look. It was such a beautiful, unexpected touch that added real magic to the day.
And the food? Out of this world. Our guests raved about the paella! People were lining up for seconds (and thirds!), and there wasn’t a single leftover by the end of the night. That’s how you know it was a hit. Thankfully, we made sure to eat plenty ourselves!
If you’re on the fence about booking Paella Time, don’t be. Just do it and hope they’re available for your date. We just returned from our honeymoon in Spain, and the paella at our wedding was every bit as good as what we had over there. They truly brought flavor, joy, and a whole lot of heart to our special day. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you Ralph and the team so much for making our wedding out of this world. We will be forever grateful. -

As the father of the groom, I was thrilled with our decision to hire Paella Time for my son's wedding. The food was delicious, bringing authentic Spanish flavors that everyone enjoyed. The live cooking station added a wonderful touch to the celebration, and the tapas and sangria were crowd-pleasers.

Paella Time's crew was absolutely amazing at our wedding. Tiffany and her team were absolutely amazing! Tiffany responded to me promptly via email, she did a visit at our venue, helped us let us know where things were going, and the food was amazing!! Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were professional, friendly, and so helpful! They helped clean up and seriously would not know what we would have done without them. They were incredible! Paella time forever -

We love paella from our favorite restaurant that closed down in Berkeley and wanted something fun and family style for our wedding. Ralph's paella was the perfect fit for us. because we were having our wedding on a family property and back yard, we needed to limit how many vendors we engaged with for ease of logistics and our sanity! Plus we needed flexibility in the set up and cooking method etc. Well Ralph and his team had it all, the food, the appetizers, the dishware, the all inclusive package was perfect for us. Tiffany was great to work with over email. We also wanted to support small businesses with all our vendors. The food was delicious and we were eating the leftovers for a few days afterwards which was perfect. The staff were so much fun and could not have been nicer. We also loved that they got so enthusiastic about our music and party and contributed great energy throughout the whole event. They never stopped smiling and we think they had as good a time as we did - which was lovely!
Ralph sent us a really nice personalized note in the days following and we would definitely hire them again if we were having a group gathering like birthday, family reunions/get together etc.
We didn't worry about a thing with them and when we brought in a wedding coordinator mid-way through the process, they worked great with her. Thank you to Ralph and the team!! -

Ralph and the Paella Time team are amazing.
They are all friendly and accommodating. We had a lot of guests who have various food allergies, and made special paellas just for them. Even free mac 'n cheese for some of the pickier kids. On our wedding day he was there himself to make sure everything was done according to plan. The paella was AMAZING. Many of our family & friends said it was the best they've had. Loved ALL the tapas. They even saved us some while we were taking photos. Very thoughtful. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. -

Couldn't go to Spain, so Paella Time brought it to us!
We met in Spain, and knew we wanted paella. Paella Time gave us an easy one stop solution providing all the plates, silverware, glasses, linens. Our wonderful venue, Piedmont Community Hall, provided the table & chairs, and the Paella Time crew took care of the rest. The tapas and paella brought us back to Spain. Everything was so delicious. Couldn't be happier. Thank you, Tiffany, Ralph, Chef Daniel, and staff. We know some of our guests have already mentioned contacting you! -

Paella Time did a fantastic job catering our wedding. All of the staff showed up on time and well-dressed for the day. We got several compliments on the tapas and paella.
The lead staff person, Sochi, was incredibly attentive to us and was thoughtful enough to set aside a plate of appetizers for us while we were taking pictures. She also prepared a salad and an individual pan of paella for our sweetheart table.
All in all, paella was a great choice for our special day and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unconventional dish for your wedding day. There are plenty of options to choose from to tailor the food to your dietary wants/needs. The cherry on top is that this is a full service vendor who made planning/invoicing so much easier.

Just wanted to tell you that your staff and Paella were EXCELLENT! We couldn't have expected a better outcome for our celebration! Chef Daniel, Tiffany, Sheila and Maya were the friendliest, most knowledgeable and helpful group of people I've ever worked with - on time and efficient!
Compliments to everyone at Paella Time for making our day look and feel absolutely special! (good call on the plates and utensils btw. What was I thinking - paper plates and disposables?!)
All of our guests had wonderful things to say about the food, the tableware settings and your team. Needless to say many guests took leftovers and the business cards that were on the table! One guest asked if there was a restaurant where he can order from! :-)

Everything from the communication, coordination to the set up the day of our wedding went smoothly. Ralph's team and staff members were wonderful and the service was great! Not to mention the paella was amazing and we finished off all the leftovers over the next few days. I could probably eat that for a month straight.

10/10 would recommend! Paella Time was so yummy, great staff, professional, included in-home tasting. I loved that it was something different that no one else does. I also loved that it wasn't a served over the shoulder type of dinner, I loved that the guests got up and did buffet style where they got to see the giant paella pans. It was such a fun idea and different than what everyone else normally does. Plus it made the vibe a little bit more casual which I wanted. -

We hired Paella time for our wedding in Sanborn County Park. Ralph is very helpful and organized. From the time we got in touch, he listed a detailed checklist which help us to plan our wedding better and reminded us a lot of things that we don't even think of at first. Ralph also scheduled a site vist and tasting. I noticed that along the proccess, Ralph and his staff, Tfff are very proactive and professional, they actively asked questions such as the resources at the venue site.
On our big day, they did a great job working with other wedding vendors. it actually rained that day and thanks to the great staffs from Paella time, they overcome the cold and the rain, delivering great quality food and did a thorough cite cleanup. they even packed the food for us !

Epic wedding food and service!
Paella Time and Ralph are more than caterers, they really make events happen and memorable. Our backyard wedding was all we could have hoped for. We had 50 guests, and some spaces would have to double as the wedding site and reception. Ralph came to our property several weeks before and drew up a plan of how to make it all work. The staff he had the day off took care of it all. We didn't need to hire out a few companies to handle various tasks, like bartending and general site servicing, it was all bundled into one. Two friends acted as day of coordinators and it all easily worked out.
The food was seriously delicious. Many compliments and comments about how exceptional the food was. The 4 foot paella pan made for an awesome display when folks came up to get their serving, and few veggie, etc dishes paella dishes were easily prepared, as well. Lots of meat, seafood and saffron - no corners cut, ample for seconds and lots of left overs! The appetizers were also excellent. Ralph did an in home tasting session with us, so we had a chance to try and select everything in advance.
Ralph was very professional and easy to communicate with. You can tell right away he's very experienced with events by the details he includes in his communications; this in my book is a plus. I've organized events for 150+, and it's better to address details early on, not 3 days before. We felt very comfortable in the days leading up to the wedding knowing we had covered all relevant topics with Paella Time.
Do yourself a favor and at minimum contact Paella Time to learn about the services and packages they can provide your wedding or event. We're so glad they were a part of our wedding. Thanks again, Ralph! -

The service was professional and attentive. Nice touch bringing us our own platter of tapas, so we didn't miss out while taking photos LOVED the leftovers @ 1 am! Thank you so much for everything. We knew that we wanted paella so we did a bunch of research and got in touch with a few different caterers. Ralph was immediately the most professional caterer that we spoke with - he sent an extremely detailed questionnaire that we filled out to get things started which was super helpful in starting to get us organized and thinking about the day. Paella Time provides plates, silverware and linens which is so easy and helpful. It makes a huge difference to cut down not only on costs but also the simplicity of cutting down on vendors. Ralph came to our house for the tasting and he is incredibly personable and passionate about his work which we loved. The food was excellent- not only did people love the paella, the tapas and the sangria, but having the paella chef cooking on the deck during cocktail hour was such a blast. It really is part entertainment and part food - it sets such a festive and fun environment. Our chef was Daniel and he and the rest of the serving staff were all excellent, professional and friendly.
I will say we had a little bit of trouble getting in touch with Ralph in the very beginning when we first contacted him for quotes and more information - we had to send quite a few follow up emails, and that is because he is incredibly busy because Paella Time is so popular. I say that only to tell you that if you DO have trouble getting in touch in the very beginning, do NOT give up, it's worth it. A busy caterer is truly a good sign! And all of that said, after we booked him, he was ALWAYS responsive, even just to say that he didn't have time to answer our questions right then, but would be in touch within a few days.
Paella Time was so much fun, made our wedding planning a breeze and your guests will LOVE it. I highly recommend working with them for any event. -

Paella Time catered our wedding on Sept 3rd, and we absolutely recommend them!
Pros:
- Delicious food that offers something a little more unique for your event than your typical run-of-the-mill
- Visually appealing presentation; the chefs cooked in giant paella pans on the lawn during cocktail hour, which was cool for guests to see
- Paella is gluten-free, and the variety of paella they offer (vegetarian, seafood, meat, or mixed) made us confident we'd be able to offer something for each guest, even those with dietary restrictions
- Offers just the right variety of tapas, paella, salads, and dessert to customize for your event
- Included flatware, silverware, and tablecloths; much easier to go with a one-stop shop!
- Staff was extremely helpful and flexible, willing to go the extra mile on game day
Cons:
- Only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is the recommendation that they update their communications methods. Instead of sending long, text-based emails, it would be great to have a form to fill out online or some other more streamlined, efficient approach!
We were very pleased with Paella Time and felt that our money was well-spent for the food, service, and overall experience. -

EVERYONE raved about the uniqueness of our wedding day caterers! Paella time served amazing food at my September outdoor wedding. All my guests were delighted it wasn't another steak, chicken or fish wedding! Because of timeline constraints, we did not allow our guests to watch the cooking of paella from start to finnish. That doesn't mean they still didn't get to gawk at the unique setup! The food was great! MANY people went back for seconds and all of the food was boxed and taken home at the end of the night! The tres leches cake is to die for! I wished we were able to try the cake at the tasting. Paella time was on time, professional and friendly. Communication is average, there was a lag before the wedding but makes sense since they do multiple weddings a month! I highly recommend them! -

Unique experience for guests!
We wanted something different for our wedding and when it came to selecting a caterer from The Lighthouse's list of preferred vendors, we immediately went to paella and thought it'd be a fun and unique experience for our guests to witness and partake in.
Initially, and this was well over a year before our actual wedding date when we had signed the contract, we had a guest count of 50 and our contract reflected this. This headcount of course changed over time, and as the months progressed, so did the direction of our wedding. We upped our guest count to 94 and also decided to hire our own bartenders for speciality cocktails in lieu of the sangria that Paella Time was providing as stated in the contract. All of this was mentioned two months before our big day, which I thought would be ample time to relay such changes, but we received some disgruntled responses from Ralph. We didn't get any updates or check-ins either which would have been appreciated given that other vendors that we've hired did.
We also inquired about a tasting; however, this was never attended to. Our inquiry was disregarded and a tasting never happened so we went into our wedding blindly with high hopes that the food would be great.
If there's one stressor I had in planning for our wedding, which for the most part, I've been really organized and stress-free, it was Ralph's way of responding. Ralph's style of communication is rather rough around the edges and it doesn't translate well via email/written communication. Even my wedding coordinator had the same sentiments. I flagged this over to The Lighthouse as I didn't want this to hinder our wedding day and the cooperation between Paella Time and the rest of our vendor team. On day of, everything seemed okay though which I was especially happy about.
Additionally, all communication and updates are to be relayed to Tiffany via email which does take a while to digest/respond to given the length of information. There's a lot of back and forth and details can easily get lost in the mix. If there's one piece of feedback to better your business, it is to invest in a platform that allows for form responses. Having to write down info in-line with the email, changing the font color, etc is a lot of work and time consuming for a client.
All in all, Paella Time delivered. They were prompt and set everything up according to plan. We tried the appetizers and they were all delicious! I personally enjoyed the meatballs (albondigas) and the ceviche - great tang though it could've benefited from a piece of bread or chip to soak and scoop up the fish.
In terms of the paella, the windy weather did hinder cooking time so it was delayed in serving. I knew weather was a gamble, but some guests did complain about only getting the burnt scrapings on the bottom of the pan, and getting uncooked grains of rice. I know you're not going to please everyone, but perhaps allowing all guests to be served before offering seconds would've prevented this in addition to serving the same amounts to each guest.
My husband and I got the mixed paella and loved it! The lemon complimented the flavors nicely and we got a mix of crisp and char from the bottom of the pan. We finished the little paella pan that was given to us. The salad was also dressed nicely and the artichokes were a pleasant add. We enjoyed our meal and also appreciated how your staff kindly served us and our parents/guests who weren't as mobile to go up to the paella pan for dinner. Thank you!
Also, please send our regards to Jacob. He's been a fantastic server and felt more like a guest. Really enjoyed having him on the dance floor and letting loose once his shift was over. Thank you, Paella Time! -
