Made our wedding so special

We were so happy with the Ovation String Quartet for our wedding ceremony. We found them on The Knot and were really impressed by their extensive song list and the option to have them learn one new song by request. They played beautifully at our ceremony at 7 Vines Vineyard, and their presence fit the atmosphere perfectly. Even though I didn’t get to hear much of their performance myself, we received so many compliments from our guests about how lovely the music was.

Laurie and her team were easy to work with, and their professionalism really stood out. They were the perfect addition to our day, and we’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for elegant live music for their wedding or event.

Easy to work with

Laurie was super easy to work with and they have a great list of music to choose from! They also put together a request for me that wasn't on their repertoire list and did a fantastic job. I had multiple guests come up to me after the ceremony who said they enjoyed music. I highly recommend Ovation String Quartet!

Amazing huge music selection

Amazing String Quartet

We had a great experience with Ovation String Quartet! The quartet performed beautifully at our wedding ceremony even in extreme winds! Laurie was very responsive, helpful, organized, and supportive throughout the planning process. They have an extensive and amazing selection of music in their repertoire. We are so happy we chose Ovation String Quartet and cannot recommend them enough!

Breathtaking music, lovely to work with

We were blown away by the amazing job that Ovation did at our wedding. We had to reschedule our wedding 2x due to COVID, so we had a lot of time to decide on music! Laurie was super responsive and went above and beyond to compose several custom arrangements for our pre-wedding music. She and her team also composed Somewhere Only We Know by Lily Allen for my bridal processional, which was absolutely magical and everything I dreamed of when I walked down the aisle. Highly recommend for any event if you are looking for talented musicians who are able to take your special day to the next level!

Ovation String Quartet will be a Memory of Our Wedding that I Cherish Forever

Laurie and the rest of Ovation String Quartet were a joy to work with. They were extremely accommodating and kind when we had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic. When our amended wedding date finally arrived, our guests very much enjoyed the wide range of music that they offered, from the traditional wedding march to the Beatles to the White Stripes; and they worked with us to select music that was a reflection of my husband and I.

A memory I will never forget is during the hustle and bustle of the cake cutting they cued up "Grow Old With You" from the movie the Wedding Singer, which is a favorite of ours' and a request that they took time to master during the postponement. Ovation String Quartet played a large part in making our wedding day lovely and I couldn't recommend them more!

Quality Musicians, Quality Professionals

I'm a classically trained and degreed musician and am very happy I found Ovation to play for my wedding. Laurie was incredibly responsive and helpful in discussing repertoire, They were also very flexible considering we had to reschedule our wedding TWICE due to COVID. In case you are wondering, their playing was beautiful. If you are looking for a group of high quality professional musicians, look no further.

Amazing string quartet! I recommend them to anyone!

The Ovation String Quartet played prelude and ceremony music for our August 2021 wedding and they were absolutely amazing. The quartet performed with perfection and never missed a cue, making the whole presentation seamless. Their communication while coordinating our arrangement was impeccable as well, not to mention the two slightly unique songs they customized for our ceremony. My husband teared up just from listening to the digitalized version of his walk out song! I 100% recommend Ovation String Quartet to anyone looking for live string music during their wedding or any other special celebration.

Beautiful Music & Fantastic Service

My husband and I used Ovation for our wedding this past October. The pandemic provided numerous logistical challeneges but the group was still very willing to play at our very small outdoor ceremony. They timing and quality of each selection was lovely and numerous guests commented on how much they enjoyed our live music. Hats off to Laurie who manages the group and was so kind and pleasant throughout all of the communication.

The Perfect Option

I'm so glad we decided to have Ovation play for our wedding! They played our chosen selections beautifully! The whole experience with them was great, not just for that day, but leading up to the day as well! Laurie was very responsive and professional in the months leading up to our big day, and I feel that they did everything to make sure that we received exactly the experience we were hoping for!

We only we wish could have heard more!

What a beautiful sound to walk down the aisle to! Especially in our venue, their sound filled the room. We are so happy we booked with Ovation String Quartet. We had absolutely no issues and they were accommodating to our needs. We booked them to stay to play the cocktail hour and it was also magnificent, I would highly recommend doing so. Excellent service, value, and sound! Thank you!!

Amazing and professional!!

I LOVED working with Ovation String Quartet for my wedding in December at the St. Paul College Club. Laurie was professional and responded quickly to all of my questions. She also invited us to watch the quartet perform at the Icehouse, and I really appreciated the opportunity to see them perform before the wedding! They have a huge repertoire selection and will take special requests as well. My family sang during our ceremony, and at the last minute (like, the day before the wedding) we decided to ask Ovation to accompany the choir. We sent the arrangement to them and they nailed it! I was extremely pleased with my experience with Ovation and I would recommend them to anyone!!

Everything you want in a quartet

They were very professional and responsive. They had a huge song list and learned a handful of songs we requested. They played everything how we wanted. it was perfect!

We were lucky to have the Ovation String Quartet play for our wedding in June 2018. They were excellent and we couldn't recommend them more strongly. Laurie was very easy to work with and quick to respond to all our e-mails. They were very reasonably priced and we were happy to pay a little more to keep them around through our cocktail hour. One awesome perk is the arrangement of a song of your choice for strings. They did "Everything Is Awesome" (from The Lego Movie) as our recessional. It truly was awesome and many people commented on it. My only complaint was, as the groom, I was too busy doing other things and didn't get to sit and enjoy their music enough!

We had ovation string quartet at our wedding last weekend at Mayowood Stone Barn in Rochester. We weren’t allowed to have a live band because of city ordinances so we knew we had to have some sort of live music! We had ovation play 30 min before our ceremony through the end of cocktail hour. We had a mix of classic and contemporary and they nailed it all! They were so professional and also extremely talented! I couldn’t recommend them more!

Ovation Strings is downright perfect. Not only do they play a wide variety of songs, but they’re willing to accommodate to any and all needs.

We worked directly with Laurie who is simply amazing. She quickly responds to emails and overall, provides top notch customer service.

We couldn’t have had a better experience preparing for the big day, especially when it came time to discussing the songs for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

This group is professional, talented (also affordable) and everything a couple could dream of having in a wedding string quartet. I would hands down recommend Ovation Strings!

Laurie and her team are amazing. I am still getting complements from our guests on how great the music was. They added that special, romanic touch that we were looking for, that really made our night.
Laurie was so easy to work with, and was very responsive to all of my emails, which is nice when you are working with so many people and vendors.
I highly recommend Ovation Strings, they are great and so worth it.

We booked Ovation String Quartet for our wedding ceremony musicians. Their communication, timing and quality of music was above and beyond exceptional! We enjoyed browsing their repertoire and selecting a unique mix of songs for our ceremony.

They played before, during and briefly after the ceremony. Our good friend even joined as a vocalist for one of the songs. Our guests loved our live musicians and of course we did too. The quartet was up for any challenge and seamlessly improvised to accommodate our timing the day of.

Would highly recommend for any couple looking for a lively ceremony compliment - or even more traditional selection. They have a very diverse portfolio of music for any setting.

Hiring Ovation String Quartet for our wedding was the best decision we could have made. Laurie was so kind and quick to respond to any questions we had. She even took the time to sit down with us and go over music selections and suggests pieces while I was stuck. She found something perfect for our bridal party procession. We had so many compliments on how fantastic the music was. They played for our ceremony and reception. They even did a custom arrangement of Adele's Remedy and Pure Imagination from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at our request. I was blown away by the quality of their performance. This is the best investment you could possibly make for your wedding. I would hire them for another event in an instant!

If you are questioning whether to hire a quartet for your wedding, DO IT - Ovation String Quartet was worth every penny and brought an amazing element to our wedding that guests are still raving how beautiful the ceremony was. Ovation String Quartet was the perfect addition to our ceremony and cocktail hour!

We hired a trio (just in order to save a little money) for 1 hour & 45 minutes. They sounded AMAZING! We chose all modern songs for our wedding ceremony (Just The Way You Are -Bruno Mars, All Of Me -John Legend, etc.) and it made our ceremony extra special. Hearing those songs being played was really memorable for us and several guests commented that they sounded great with all of the songs!

The price, song repertoire list, organization and execution were all 5/5 and I would recommend them to anyone else looking for great ceremony musicians!

Ovation is such a unique quartet. It had always been my dream to have a quartet at my wedding. I found Ovation online and immediately contacted them. Laurie reached out to me and invited me to hear them play before making a decision. They played music I had requested and I was instantly sold. The song I chose for the processional was Can't Help Falling in Love. I was worried that it might take away from my entrance if I walked down the the same song as the bridal party. Ovation worked together to create a few extra measures that beautifully captured my entance. It was absolutely breathtaking and everything I could have imagined. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to everyone, as they sincerely care about helping others to create their vision.

The Ovation String Quartet performed superbly, and learned two new compositions for the wedding. The Ovation String Quartet is the perfect addition to any wedding ceremony! We included Ovation at our Mill City Museum wedding in May of 2017 and they were incredibly professional and accommodating to all of our musical selections and processional/recessional needs.

The Ovation String Quartet offers excellent communication leading up to the day of the ceremony and on-going status updates regarding song preparation and timetables. Their expansive repertoire and ability to incorporate custom pieces makes Ovation the absolute best and affordable string quartet option in Minnesota.

I would highly recommend Ovation String Quartet. They were very accommodating to our needs and what we specifically wanted for our ceremony. One concern I had in advance was that I noticed Ovations rates were cheaper than a lot of the other wedding musicians - I wondered if that might be reflected in the quality. Let me tell you, those concerns were unfounded. Really professional musicians, really great sound, great music selection, and all at a very fair rate. Thanks Laurie et al!

Choosing Ovation String Quartet to play at our wedding was the best decision ever! We preferred non-traditional music, and their huge list made it so easy to find the perfect songs. They were so great to work with throughout the entire process. The quartet music was beautiful, and really created the perfect background for our ceremony and reception. Hiring Ovation's string quartet was the best decision we made for our ceremony. Our families, bridal party, and guests absolutely loved the music and we heard so many great compliments–professional, beautiful music for the setting, great timing when walking down the aisle (my entrance was exactly at the point in the song I was hoping for, without even asking), and so much more! The songs played during the prelude made many guests cry, that's how beautiful it was.

Compared to other quartets, Ovation is a great price, very professional, and has a HUGE repertoire list; from classical to contemporary, jazz to folk, they can play it. I hired them only two weeks out from my wedding, and Laurie responded right away and we breezed through the process. My only wish is that I would have hired them sooner, that way we could have had up to two songs arranged just for us at no extra cost!

If you're looking for something to take your ceremony from good to great, hire Ovation. Highly recommended to anyone!!

We booked Ovation String Quartet to play at our wedding ceremony this July. Laurie was a pleasure to work with, and although she was on vacation during our wedding, she was always very quick to correspond to emails and took the time to compose three special songs for us at no extra cost that were not on the quartet's repertoire list! Although I only got to hear the quartet during the processional and the recessional, they sounded wonderful and made our wedding very special. My only wish is that I could have heard more of the music!

Ovation String Quartet was great! They were flexible in the number of musicians, song choices and timing. They play at a café in St. Paul so it was easy to watch them perform live several times before my wedding. When we went to watch them at the café, they customized their play list to ensure that we would be able to hear all the songs we selected for our wedding. Laurie was great to work with on the contract, payment and logistical details. We had guests requesting their music after the wedding, unfortunately they do not have. We ended up having 4 musicians to play prelude, processional and recessional. Prelude songs were of Ovations choice (to include Here comes the sun by the Beatles and Stand By Me by Ben E King. Processional was The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel. Bride processional was Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley and recessional was "So Happy Together" by the Turtles (from the upbeat chorus starting point)

We decided that instead of having a traditional piano player and soloist that we would go with a string trio, and I am very pleased that we booked Ovation String Quartet. They were very professional and had a very large repertoire. We also were able to request songs that weren't on the list, and each piece turned out absolutely beautiful. Our ceremony definitely would not have been the same without them.

The bride is the one who hear less of this beauty service, but what I heard and what other people told me was enough to say I am very happy with the services they provided. They were flexible and added some of our special songs on their list. Strongly recommended vendor!

Laurie arrived before the ceremony and I was unable to meet with her due to guests arriving, but she played beautifully and the songs we had coordinated were perfect. She played after our ceremony for our receiving line and it was the perfect touch. I was able to meet her briefly after the ceremony to thank her in person, but I wanted to share how great our experience with her was. Thanks for making our ceremony beautiful!

I would most definitely recommend hiring Ovation String Quartet for your wedding or event! We booked the group for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour music and could not have been happier with our choice. Laurie is responsive, friendly, flexible and extremely helpful. For our procession, I requested a song not included on their repertoire list -- Laurie and the group agreed right away and arranged it (and played it beautifully!) in just a month! Laurie was also very helpful in selecting the rest of the music for the ceremony. I gave her my (very) general ideas and she quickly sent me a great list of options. After hiring Ovation, ceremony/cocktail hour music was no longer a worry for me. I knew I was in great hands!

I have found Laurie Melting of the Ovation String Quartet especially helpful and responsive to my friend's questions and needs for their wedding event. The service provided was a bonus on top of their incredible band and variety of danceable music that was also a great joy to simply listen to. Their style was a big hit to everyone there...from kids to seniors. I will definitely let others know how incredible the Ovation String Quartet is for weddings and many other occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays, retirement parties, etc.

My husband and I hired Ovation String Quartet for our wedding ceremony music. We worked with Laurie from the beginning and she was one of the string players at the actual ceremony. She was extremely responsive and accommodating through the entire process. Laurie helped us through the song selection and planning process. We were given an extensive song list the musicians already knew; if we had a certain song in mind Laurie assured us that they would do their best to accommodate it. I loved that they had variety in their play list since neither my husband and I are huge fans of the traditional classics. We selected songs such as Skinny Love, Can't Help Falling in Love, I Want to Hold Your Hand, Your Song and What a Wonderful World. My husband and I ended up using a duo of strings (violin and cello) rather than the full quartet for our ceremony. The strings played beautifully and I received endless compliments on how beautiful the ceremony music was. If we were to do our wedding day over again, we would absolutely choose Ovation String Quartet again!

Laurie was extremely responsive from the beginning. Whenever I would send her an email and she would always get back right away which was incredibly helpful when planning a wedding. I wasn't 100% sure what to expect because I did not meet up with the quartet beforehand but they were on time, very professional, and played beautifully. I got many compliments from our guests after the ceremony. One of the highlights was when they played "Some Where Over the Rainbow" during our monarch butterfly release. I would highly recommend working with Laurie in the future.

We wanted to hire a solo violinist for our wedding this past April, and we could not be happier with Laurie! I'm very pleased that I chose Ovation to play for my ceremony. We didn't get married in a church, but I wanted live music for my walk down the aisle. It was a smaller venue and I had a tight budget so a duo (violin and cello) was perfect. It was a pleasure to work with Laurie Melting from start to finish. She is extremely responsive and helpful. The only thing that would have made it easier was if they had audio snippets on their website for their repertoire list. Instead I googled each songs and listened to string quartets on YouTube. When it was my turn to walk down the aisle the sound in the room was magical and completed the experience.

Working with Laurie and her team was a breeze. The responsive nature, flexibility and confidence is unmatched. They were able to create a level of emotion that touched not only our hearts but everyone's in the room.

When asked if they could do custom songs for us ("Yellow", "The Feather Song", and "Bang on the Drum All Day") there was no hesitation, almost excitement which she had vocalized that putting arrangements together is one of her favorite activities as a musician. We had people posting on Facebook and coming up to us all night telling us how awesome they were and how unique the music was. "Who plays a string version of 'Bang on the Drums All Day'" one guest asked...well they do! :)

They are totally self-sufficient on the event day. I only realized they were all set up when they started practicing a song that brought tears to so many faces that pictures had to be paused for a brief moment.
And when communicated that the ceremony may last 15-25 minutes longer, her response "no problem". They played through the receiving line with no additional costs.

I would recommend them to anyone!!!

Most of the stress of planning a wedding is the waiting on responses from vendors. Ovation was quick to respond to every email I sent, which made this process all that less stressful. Everyone we spoke to after the ceremony loved the Trio and the assortment of music that was played. It made our day all that more memorable. We can't thank them enough!!

The Ovation Quartet did a great job at our party! They added the perfect touch to make our event a success. Their music selections included a wide variety of music: classical, show tunes, popular, and jazz arrangements. Music was an important part of our wedding ceremony and the Ovation String Quartet played a big part in making our dream wedding a reality. I truly believe my wedding ceremony wouldn't have even been half of the success it was without the help of these talented musicians. It felt so surreal walking down the aisle to my favorite song being played by the group, like I was in a dream. I was more than pleased with their flawless performance.
