We’ve got a lot to say about Holly and Jim and it’s all absolutely glowing.
From the moment Holly and Jim came to meet us for our engagement photos, we’d picked Central Park, we knew we were in incredibly capable and warm hands. Our wedding was upstate in Jefferson, New York in October 2024 and was exactly what we imagined (read meticulously planned). A huge part of that was captured flawlessly by these two talented photographers.
Holly and Jim's ability to blend seamlessly into the background while still managing to capture every precious moment is astounding. They paired their prior experiences at our venue with an uncanny knack for anticipating those fleeting, beautiful instances – a loving glance, close ups on our meaningful mementos, the joy radiating from our guests. They didn't just take pictures; they told the story of how our day came together from both sides of the aisle.
The photos themselves are breathtaking. The lighting, the composition, even the curation of selects afterwards – everything was absolutely professional. They managed to encapsulate the rustic charm of the venue, the vibrance of autumn in the Catskills, while also highlighting the intimate and personal moments that made our wedding so uniquely ours. From lakeside portraits in the afternoon sun, to raucous groups on the dance floor, to fireworks later that night — they had it covered from the perfect angle without ever being in the way.
Beyond their technical expertise, Holly and Jim are simply wonderful people. They are kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They were accommodating with our budget, and frankly, generous with helping us make the most of it. Holly is sharp and reassuring, she was particularly proactive with recommending local resources like a videographer. Jim is calm and easygoing, even offering to ride along with the groomsmen from the AirBnB to the venue.
If you're looking for wedding photographers who will not only deliver stunning images but also keep your day from feeling as crazy as it certainly is, look no further than Out of the Ordinary. They really are, well, it’s right there in the name. We are forever grateful for the beautiful memories they have given us. We couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Book Them, You Won't Regret It!
It was great working with OOTO! They were so quick to respond to our inquiries and were so kind and professional, it really helped to put our minds at ease. The day of our wedding, we were given very helpful direction and Holly had such creative ideas and it resulted in some beautiful photos for our December wedding! There was also a huge storm the night before the wedding but they showed up right on time which I am so grateful for! 10/10 would recommend booking them!

This team was absolutely amazing. They were so collaborative and professional, and captured the love and energy of the day perfectly. We received previews of the photos pretty quickly (while we were on our honeymoon, which was fantastic) and the rest of the photos came shortly after. We had emphasized that we really wanted candid photos of our guests during the reception, as well as photos that we could share with our caterer showing all the hard work they did, and these folks more than delivered. I would recommend them to literally anyone and everyone.

Great, quick communication before, during, and after our wedding. Totally put our minds at ease. Handled the suboptimal conditions (mud everywhere, glaring sun, high winds that knocked things down) at the venue with ease and grace. Didn't even know they were there unless they were talking directly to us (stealthy!). Captured so many gorgeous photos and fun candids. They took our preferences into account- we got the types of photos that were important to us (and more!) and they were in the style we hoped for- natural, did not look heavily edited (and if they were you'd never know it!). Video clips and 1 min video montage were WONDERFUL. Many guests have commented how nicely they captured the essence of our day. Having both of them there was perfect - not only were they able to catch both sides of the wedding party getting ready in separate locations, but also the different angles of the same moments.
We will enlist their services again for other events.
They were fun and friendly and helpful, and we cannot say enough about Out of the Ordinary Photography!

Instant Relief!
Choosing a photographer to capture one of the most important days of your life is not easy!. Luckily for you it just got a whole lot easier! Just call Holly and Jim at OOTO Photography! I was instantly put at ease because not only were they available, reasonable but felt genuine from start to finish. Holly is so very talented, professional and yet approachable. Great photographers!
We hired Out of the Ordinary photography for our winter elopement and they were wonderful! Reasonably priced, showed up perfectly on time and had two cameras to capture multiple angles. They were lovely people and made us feel very comfortable immediately. They were up to photographing in the snow and got some great vistas and shots. The pictures they captured were gorgeous and got us the initial sneak peak within a week and a very reasonable timeline for the entire album! Would definitely recommend them!

Great experience for our wedding and engagement shoot!!!
My husband and I worked with Holly and Jim for both our engagement shoot and wedding (6/4/22). We really enjoyed working with them and appreciated their candid and unique approach to photography. We were both nervous before our engagement shoot, but Holly and Jim made the whole experience a ton of fun! They were really responsive prior to the wedding and answered our many questions throughout the process (and shared some great tips). During the wedding, they were really professional.
Reflecting on our experience, we would really recommend that couples sit down and think through the photos they want. We sent a shot list for the day, but missed some key items (ie. photos with us and flower girl and ring bearer). It would have been helpful to have received more feedback on this or a suggested shot list from prior weddings. We also wish we had requested more shots of my in-laws (there were many more of my parents). I'm sure if we had more time to think about it, we would have told Holly and Jim, and they would have gotten these important shots.
We appreciated the super quick turnaround on getting the photos back to us, and everyone loved them! Highly recommend OOTO!

Wonderfully fun
We had great communication with Holly and Jim from the start of our contract. They’re rates for what they provide are very reasonable. They were open to all of my suggestions and they made the wedding day so much fun. Holly was so helpful when my maid of honor and I were getting ready and she had the perfect eye for some of our before shots. They were so accommodating when I asked them to get specific pictures of family members and really got great shots of our entire day. I had guest’s comment on how beautiful the pictures were for a couple of people they don’t remember standing “in the way” of any part of the ceremony or reception!
I also asked for a few sneak peaks right after the wedding and Holly was happy to edit a few pictures for us immediately.
They really made our day so special and love-filled and we hope to use then again in the future!

After reviewing Holly's work I knew I wanted her to capture my big day! Holly and Jim were both so sweet and amazing people to work with. They made me abd my whole bridal party feel comfortable which resulted in some beautiful photos. They captured so many great moments and I LOVE looking back at the photos from my wedding. Beyond Perfect!
We first contacted Holly and Jim in August a year before our wedding. We were not local so we had a great phone conversation and they answered every question that we may have about the process. They were our first vendor that we contacted and really put us at ease, and we knew they were the right ones for us. The day of the wedding they got a feel for our personality and the style of photos that we wanted. They used their professionalism and expertise to balance the casual shots and locations that we wanted to take a perfect picture. Our reception occurred in a public setting, so they had to balance outside variables for the photos, but recently receiving the photos you could never tell that we were not one of the only people in the area. My husband and I have enjoyed immensely going through the photos and happily reliving our memories. They had a turn around of about 6 weeks and we could not be more happy! We would recommend Out of the Ordinary Photography to anyone!

Holly and Jim were a great team on our wedding day and took such good care to make sure that we had the perfect shots. They even suggested that we take some pictures on the roof of the hotel, which turned out to be our favorites. Out of the Prdinary Photography was phenomenal. They were responsive to questions, easy to contact before and after the ceremony, and really fun to have at our wedding. We had a laid back style wedding so we took formals before the ceremony, did a first look, and had asked for candids and natural pictures of people just enjoying the day. We had pictures of the big things like ceremony, first dances, cake cutting, and bouquet toss, and so many awesome candids of our family and friends just having fun. The pictures we received on our USB were so awesome! I feel like every shot I could have imagined that my groom and I had wanted were there, they read our minds. It was nice to have two photographers to capture different angles of great moments. I would highly recommend this couple to do your wedding photography, we were nothing but happy with their work!

Holly and Jim are so wonderful! From the moment they arrived to the end of the night, they were so friendly and professional. Our wedding was at Burlap and Beams outside Lake George and we started with pictures at the Marriott in Village. They were so accommodating of our schedule with pictures at the two locations and even helped us take a few shots by the lake before heading to the Burlap and Beams. They were especially patient with us as we gathered the large groups that we wanted to make sure we had pictures with (e.g., extended family, high school, college). We just received all of our photos are absolutely blown away!

We are so happy we chose to work with Holly and Jim for our wedding. I knew they were going to awesome from our first meeting. They were funny, creative, personabable and professional. They are versatile with style and had the creative vision that I wanted. Our photos came back to us pretty quickly. I’ve also been to weddings where the photographers/videoagraphers are always in the way. Holly and Jim still got great photos without us noticing they were there! They were so great to work with, super friendly, and produce great work! Thank you again for our amazing photos we’ll cherish forever!!

Holly is absolutely amazing! I hired her to do an engagement photo shoot on a farm.... with wedding llamas!! It was so easy to plan and coordinate with Holly and the photos were ready just days after the photo shoot. They were absolutely stunning (and adorable!). I would highly recommend anyone use Holly for their wedding or engagement photos.

After searching tirelessly for a wedding photographer we finally found what we were looking for in Out of The Ordinary. I instantly knew we had to hire them after looking at their work on the website. Holly was absolutely incredible to work with leading up to and on our special day. We had her husband as a second shooter that day which was a pleasant surprise! Both of them have an incredible eye for the right shot. You will NOT be disappointed in her work, my photos are simply amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. My husband and I are not photogenic at all and are not into posing for pictures but her photos brought out the fun loving couple that we are. All our memories from the wedding day have been captured perfectly from start to finish!

Where can I even start? If you are looking for high quality, creative, & unique photography for your wedding that truly captures the essence of you and your day, you NEED to hire Holly & Jim! I recently got married at Burlap & Beams in Athol NY & I was very picky about the quality and style of my wedding photos. I wanted to make sure they wouldn't be boring or dull so after searching through what feels like every photographer in the upstate NY area, I was so relieved when I found Holly & Jim because you can tell from their work that they have extraordinary talent and an amazing eye. They are so professional & they made everything go so effortlessly on our wedding day. I knew they would do a good job based on the photos I'd seen on their website but I still had no idea they would exceed our expectations to the degree that they did. Our wedding pictures are seriously out of this world and I am SO thankful for all of their hard work. We had so many fun shots of our wedding party, including a shot of us running away from a giant T-rex that she photoshopped for us - not only is it hilarious but we had so much fun actually taking the pictures we couldn't even stop laughing. They really made taking photos so much fun that day. Bonus that I hadn't expected was that we got married July 8 and she had a preview of our pictures up within a few days of the wedding, and she had basically all of our wedding photos done by the time we got back from our honeymoon! Insanity! It's August 3rd as I write this and we've already been able to order our wedding albums - all while she was booked with tons of other weddings in between - I don't know how she does it! I CANNOT recommend Out of the Ordinary Photography enough! 5 stars wouldn't do it justice. They deserve all of the success in the world for their amazing hard work and talent. Thank you so much Holly & Jim for capturing our wedding in a way that we will honestly cherish forever through your photos! You truly made our day.

Holly and Jim are awesome! This married duo are professional and super easy to work with. They arrived early on our wedding day and stayed with us all day and into the night. It was raining and we couldn't get the Lake pictures we wanted, no worries, we got into the Adirondack Brewery for some cool shots instead!
I really enjoyed them. Their patience and understanding was a breath of fresh air. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have their moments captured.

Holly is amazing! High quality photos. Don't just book anyone to take photos of your special day- you really should get an artist that knows exactly what they're doing. I'm so impressed with how my photos turned out. I'm the least photogenic person ever and somehow my photos turned out amazing with her skills XP. We get compliments all the time on how great our photos turned out. People say they look like they're from a magazine, and I would have to agree =). Plus, Holly and her husband are super nice, cool people. It was like 90 degrees on our big day and I felt awful because they must have been dying in that heat (I know I was) but they stuck it out and were total professionals! I'm very glad I went with them. And their business name is accurate, if you have a unique wedding theme like ours (geek chic), they will have fun with it and come up with some really great photo ideas.

Out of the Ordinary was great right from the beginning, they met us at a mutually convenient location and when we looked at the books of work they brought, we knew we had found the right photographers. Their work was different from all the usual, line up the wedding party/stand and pose shots we had seen before. They were candid and captured the spirit of the occasion. Also not being a traditional couple, we felt accepted and knew they would give us their very best. The wedding album they produced was extraordinary, a collage of pictures that showed our day to its fullest. The video was beautiful with music that contained our personal favorites. We can fully recommend this wonderful wife/husband team to anyone that is looking for a unique and different take on a wedding.

We loved working with Holly and Jim. We were unsure of where we wanted to have our portraits taken, and they offered us a few fantastic suggestions. We wanted to have first look photos taken prior to the ceremony's start, and they were very accommodating with their arrival time to ensure nothing went unphotographed, even though they started shooting earlier than originally agreed upon. There was a huge thunderstorm during our reception and Holly and Jim were able to shoot the most beautiful and artistic photos. We received our final photos in under one month after our wedding. I have never heard of anyone getting their pics back so quickly!

They both understood the importance of making our wedding about becoming family. Holly was great from the start, she is very responsive to questions and idea She asks what you are looking for and if there is anything in particular that you must have. They were on time and stayed late for our wedding day. The pictures they took really captured the spirit of the day. It was amazing the number of pictures they did take and then Holly did a wonderful job in post-processing many of the photos. Holly and Jim Greene were the photographers for our wedding on July 18th 2015. I came across Out of the Ordinary Photography's website and loved the pictures that I saw. My husband and I are out of the ordinary kind of people and from looking over their website I could tell that Holly would be the perfect match for us! Holly and Jim were amazing to work with! They are extremely easy going and super friendly! It was a pleasure to have them at our wedding, photographing everything and capturing all of those special moments. They are professional and work really well with kids. We had a large wedding party that included 8 kids and they were always patient and very friendly and never rushed us! I never felt they were overwhelmed or frustrated with the amount of people in the wedding party and at the wedding. They both had really awesome ideas for different pictures that turned out amazing! When we received our pictures, we were blown away! Our pictures are absolutely perfect! It is truly amazing that they captured not only the key elements from our wedding but also captured the magic, love and those special smiles and kisses that just give you that butterflies in your stomach kind of feeling! My husband and I got married in Lake George back in August of 2006. My best friend found "Out of the Ordinary" for us. Holly is a very friendly, energetic, and personable photographer. She captured everything we hoped for and more! Holly was extremely professional and easy going. She made me feel very comfortable about asking for certain pictures. There were several times where we didn't even know she was there, which made it possible for her to catch the most memorable memories. I've lost my grandmother since then, and I am so pleased to have the photos to look back on. The photos were truly excellent! They are something we share with our children regularly. We can only hope to share them with our grandchildren one day.

Wow where do I begin! Holly and Jim were amazing!! They did both our engagement and wedding pictures and they came out beautiful. They were the second photographer we met with and after our meeting we knew we wanted them to be a part of our wedding day. They were so friendly and were very flexible with our wedding schedule since we wanted getting ready photos, had a tea ceremony, and our second ceremony and reception were an hour away.
On our wedding day Holly and Jim arrived early and stayed until the end. Our first ceremony was a traditional tea ceremony. This meant a lot to my parents and they did such a great job capturing every moment of it. Our pictures looked like they have photographed tea ceremonies before, even though it was their first time!
Holly and Jim captured every shot we wanted throughout the day. They made us feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera. It is going to be hard to pick photos for our album, we have so many favorites! We will definitely be using them again in the future!

My daughter recently wed after a very long engagement but also after my mom died. Knowing this was of course a very special day but a significant absence was there... Holly was very aware of this and very sensitive to this.
I had given her a list of "must have photo's" and prayed they would be done since family shots are always so important and especially when you've had a loss and then realize how much you want to capture.
When the face book sharing started after the wedding even I was given a gift when in one picture she captured the feeling I was having of my mom......... for this I will never forget her or her vision - she has great vision!!!

My now husband and I found Out of the Ordinary Photography a few years before our wedding. We instantly fell in love with her work that showed true individualism and creativity – we had to have her! Once we booked Holly we wanted to experience what it was like to be behind her lens so we did engagement photos although we had been engaged for 5 years at that point. We have a son who was 3 ½ at the time and she could not have been more patient with him. He was not used to anyone other than his aunt taking his photo and she let him do what he wanted and we still got wonderful photos as a couple and a family. She even caught moments that I would not have even thought to pick up the lens.
We anxiously awaited our wedding day because I could not wait to work with Holly and Jim. They were so flexible with the change of events as everyone was late and EXTREMELY patient with our moody preschooler. Working with them all day was an experience I will never forget. Holly brought such relaxation and ease to my day because I knew she had everything under control. Even my control freak of a mother let Holly do her job and didn’t interfere because she was even satisfied with the way the day was handled.
As the previews popped up on Facebook it just solidified our decision. Holly and Jim were amazing and caught moments, especially with our son that I did not even catch. I have never been comfortable with my body and being almost 5 months pregnant I was very worried to be behind the lens but I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life than in the photos that Out of the Ordinary captured.
Between their professionalism, kindness, creativity and willingness to work with you to achieve your dream image, I cannot say enough great things about them! Even if we had eloped I would have wanted Holly and Jim there because I am sure even with two people they would have caught something we missed! I cannot thank them enough for the gift they are giving us that will last a lifetime!

Holly shot our engagement and wedding photos for us. Jim helped with the engagement photos and she had a different assistant for our wedding. All of them were beyond fantastic. They went above and beyond anything we had expected. For our engagement photos we weren't all that familiar with the area at the time and they made fantastic suggestions for locations. They ended up driving us to a beautiful remote location on Lake George and the photos were amazing. Our wedding photos are something we will cherish forever. Holly was fantastic at capturing the emotions of that day and I will forever be grateful for that. We just booked her for a family shoot - 5 years and 2 kids later!

She was flexible, she listened and accommodated every request we had and we absolutely could not have been happier with our decision to use her to capture the most important day of our lives. Holly is simply amazing! She was so easy to work with and get along with and her pictures are absolutely stunning! My husband and I are so glad that we hired Holly, especially looking back now that the event is over. As time passes you begin to forget some little things and when we look at the pictures as they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words" well Holly gave us a thousand pictures so now we have a LOT of words! Holly captured such emotion in each candid shot and didn't miss any of the big events, or any of the little intimate moments. Her portraits were amazing and she even got shots of all of our décor, guess people really do notice that stuff after all. Holly of course new many great poses to put us in but was also open to our ideas and suggestions so we truly got everything we wanted! Holly was worth every single penny and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to get any kind of pictures taken because she is more than a photographer she is an artist. Holly really has a special gift for capturing simply breathtaking photos and the manner and fashion in which she does it is just one of a kind, a great way to capture and remember your special day.

Holly from Out of the Ordinary captured our day in the best way possible. Making it to our cocktail hour and enjoying our wedding reception were important to us, so Holly managed to squeeze a couple of hundred, incredibly high quality posed/staged photos into a very short period of time. She then blended into the party at the reception, which helped her capture some truly wonderful candid moments. Holly's photos of our wedding now grace our home and they never fail to get noticed and complimented by guests. Nearly 5 years later, we are still in love with our wedding pictures and the moments they captured for us!

We had a 100% amazing, fun and inspiring experience with Holly and Jim, who photographed our wedding in September 2012. They had a playful spirit that matched our own and an artistic eye that captured the right mood at the right time - not to mention all of the little moments that you might miss when you are otherwise occupied as the bride and groom. She not only took requested pictures, but she also took photos of all the little details that brides and grooms tend to miss during the busy day. There were so many pictures of our guests too, so we were able to send them out with our thank yous, which people really loved. Holly & Jim, did my son & daughter in laws wedding, then our large family Christmas photos, then mommy &.me photos & they also did a photo shoot of myself & dog Jake at Saratoga state park. To just call them photographers would be a disservice, they are artists in every sense of the word. Holly has this natural sense of what will not be a good photo but a great photo. Within 30 minutes you will become fast friends with them. I would recommend them above all others, I don't think the Royal photographer could do a better wedding photo shoot..

I attended a weeding Holly photographed, after I saw her work, I had to use her! She has a fantastic gift to capture the most amazing moments. I am in awe of our wedding pictures! She and her husband are very professional and friendly. Both very creative and have a great eye. Holly was fantastic to work with. We were planning the wedding from overseas so never met her before we worked with her and she was great. She made sure we got all photos done that we had requested and she added some great ones in. She is super easy to work with, and her editing afterwards is fantastic. She knows just the right cropping coloring and accents to spruce up. I would definitely hire her again!

We had Holly and an extra photographer (her husband Jim), photograph our wedding. To say our experience was great is an understatement... We have a gazillion amazing pictures from our wedding day. They did not leave one detail unnoticed, everything was captured.
They are so easy going and flexible. They were very professional, and it's funny they caught everything on camera but I never noticed them (in a good way of course.) It was so nice because they would upload some photos as they were going through the processing of ours, so we got a sneak peek before we actually got our discs.
The value of their services is unbeatable. It was one of the best prices around, and better quality then some of those who charge 3x as much.
Over all my husband and I just think the world of them and if we can give you any advice it would be to book Out of the Ordinary for your wedding. Everyone who has seen our pictures has raved about how great they are, and we absolutely agree!!!

She responded back to me timely and professionally through email or phone, whichever more convenient, and took care of all my requests for special photos. She got the greatest shots and it was like she was never "there" - not in the way, didn't make us stop and pose in special ways...she just let the day go on and everyone do their thing. I am so very happy I chose Holly to capture our day. I loved her website and when I met with her I could tell she would be perfect. She was there to capture every moment. We received the photos less than a month after the wedding and I love looking at them. Holly was the first vendor that we booked! She photographed the groom's sister's wedding in 2008 and the pictures were amazing.
We had a date change and thank goodness Holly was still available!
A few months beforehand Holly contacted me to let me know she would not be able to physically be at the wedding to take the pictures, but had full confidence in the person who she would have at our wedding. Upon request Holly sent me a sample of photos taken by Renee at a previous wedding and they were perfect, so I had no worries after that.
Renee was absolutely wonderful! Very professional, and got every shot! Guest from the wedding have asked to see the photographer's pictures because they had some shots of themselves taken.
I requested a few shots so I could do thank you cards and Holly sent them very quickly. Can't wait to see the whole group of photos, but the "teaser" ones on her website look wonderful!

Working with Holly was an absolute pleasure. She captured very shot that we could of ever imagined and then some. She was on time and ready to go. I had come her come while I was getting ready. It was a complete honor to have her there. She was definitely worth every penny. We ordered a slide show and an album. The slide show had all the music from our wedding on it. It was better than our actual wedding video. The album had all of our favorite pictures in it. She is awesome. I have referred her to everyone I know and will continue to do so.
