Great Experience!
We had our wedding here and it was the best decision! The staff was beyond helpful before our wedding and the day of! Having the hotel was great for out of town guests and the wedding party. The food and drinks were also wonderful! We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples. -

Beat day ever!
Our wedding at the Oregon Garden was the most unforgettable day ever!! Not only is it a gorgeous venue, but they provide catering, alcohol, and setup and takedown which as a bride is something you do not want to have to worry about with multiple, vendors! They were so welcoming and accomodating for certain things we wanted to add or do with the venue. Our family and friends all from California were shocked by how incredible the venue was! Thank you for such a special day!-

We had a wonderful wedding in the Grand Ballroom. It ended up raining, so we had the ceremony inside as well as the reception. Our wedding was smaller- only 70-80 people, but 200 or so could have fit inside for everything. The Garden Green was also not as "done up"/picturesque as prior photos show, so the Grand Ballroom for the ceremony actually worked better with the beautiful glass window panes looking out on part of the garden as the backdrop. At first, they seem very strict, but when it comes down to it they are flexible, so don't be afraid to ask for something you need. The getting ready rooms for the Grand Ballroom are huge! A ton of space for everyone, even if you have larger wedding parties. We had our wedding on a weekday, which lowered the venue costs and catering minimum a bit, which worked well for our smaller wedding and helped us save some money while still being able to get married at the Oregon Garden. Also, since weekdays are less popular, it meant we were the only wedding that day which was great!
A drawback is that they are very strict regarding catering- there is a catering minimum, and you must get everything, except cake, through them. No outside food is allowed, and outside wine is allowed for a corkage fee. But, the price includes set up and take down, as well as everything needed to eat the food. -

What an amazing venue to have a wedding! The garden is spectacular and the service is top notch! The staff at the Oregon Garden is so wonderful, they made sure to treat every one of our family members exceptionally well! Shana, the event coordinator goes above and beyond. She made sure everything was taken care of and checked in on us often. She is so sweet and helpful! We spent the entire weekend at the gardens and was waited on hand and foot. Our family complimented us over and over again with how amazing our venue was. I wouldn't have changed a thing! -

While it was (ridiculously) expensive, and my hubby and I had a hard time intially justifying the sticker price, at the end of the day we were so incredibly happy and thoroughly satisfied by the everything! It was perfect. The food was absolutely amazing, and one month later we are still getting compliments about it. The servers and coordinators were wonderful. We are so very glad we decided on this venue and highly recommend it to all prospective couples. -

My experience with the Oregon Gardens was superb. Shanna & Mariah were excellent to work with. I felt like I was at an all inclusive resort with every need met every step of the way. My daughter and her now husband had the wedding of their dreams at a 5 star location. We couldn't ask for anything better.

We had a wedding in January with 400 guests, and the Oregon Garden was the perfect place for us - they could accommodate all our guests and everyone had an amazing time and really appreciated the fact they could book a room and make a weekend out of it! Also, working with Shana was super easy! She was extremely helpful and organized, and we couldn't have done it without her. I definitely recommend the Oregon Garden for any event, any time of year. -

Shana was excellent! she adjusted things as we needed to fit what we wanted for our wedding. She was super helpful and responsive. Our wedding was perfect and a huge part of that was Shana. The Oregon Garden Resort was a perfect place for our wedding because it was a flawless setting (every picture was gorgeous), the whole thing was catered to our liking, and the resort offers a place for people to stay afterwards. Shana assured us at every turn that everything was good, and it was! She answered every question we had. -

The Oregon Garden Resort was perfect and we are beyond thrilled that we chose to have our best day ever there! The entire staff was super helpful to work with throughout the day. Shana could not have been more amazing. I emailed her ALL the time and she always responded quickly and was very accommodating to our wants and needs during the entire planning process. Th venue itself was lovely. It worked out well for us with a lot of out of town guests, we had a place for everyone to stay, and after party if desired! Overall, we could not be happier with out decision to have the wedding at the Garden and people are still commenting on how perfect the day was!! -

We had the most beautiful wedding here! Shana was very responsive, knowledgable, and so organized. Throughout the whole day we never felt like we had to ask for anything or worry things weren't going to go right. The banquet manager Paul was so friendly and gave us everything we asked for right down to the smallest details. It was the perfect venue for me and my family and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful space. -

This venue was meant to be. Shana was extremely helpful. She always returned my calls or emails in a timely manner. All of the staff is very friendly, helpful, courteous, etc. The gardens are beautiful. We will treasure the memories from this day forever. We received multiple responses about how beautiful our reception was. The food was incredible. What can I say? Not enough. We have another child and if and when he gets married we will definitely recommend Oregon Gardens for the wedding and reception. -

When my husband and I visited the Oregon Garden's I immediately knew that I wanted to have my wedding there. They have three different wedding location options and we fell I love with the Green Garden and Grand Hall spot. With all the gorgeous flowers in bloom you really don't need any other decorations. Plus, you have access to the whole garden for photos during the day. We had a guest list of 200-250 and this venue easily accommodated that large of a group. Shana is the venues coordinator and she was very quick to respond to emails or phone calls. There is a resort on site and within walking distance so many of our guest chose to get a room and turn our wedding into a weekend retreat. Plus, after the reception ended there is a lounge/bar at the resort where people could continue to celebrate until 2am. The food is provided by the Oregon Garden and there are lots of options to choose from. We chose an Italian buffet and it was delicious. On the day of our wedding, the staff was very helpful in accommodating my requests for a few extra tables I had forgot about and they accommodated us eating early so we could greet our guests as they entered the buffet line. All in all we had a great experience and would definitely recommend having your wedding at the Oregon Garden. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing! :) -

The Oregon Gardens is a beautiful, tranquil, place. Really an Oregon gem! The Event facilities are clean, spacious, accommodating for any size group. The grounds are gorgeous! The hotel was Fabulous! Rooms were large and so nice. The beds
Awesome! The Great Hall was perfect for the large wedding we had. It allowed both indoor and outdoor space, so we were covered for any type weather. Everything was SO NICE, but the best part of all was the SERVICE!! They appreciated our business and what this wedding event meant to us! Everyone went above and beyond their duties to make us comfortable and happy. They have event coordinators, banquet managers and beverage managers ALL willing and available to help. We never had to go look for assistance, someone was always checking on us or making sure we were not in need of anything! Our dinner buffet was delicious, served amazingly efficient and fast. All our guest enjoyed hot delicious food. The menu selection was great! Vegan meals and prices for children's dinners were all made available. We are SO impressed with this facility, all of you at the Oregon Gardens. . . . . Thank You, -

Our wedding went so smoothly at the Oregon Gardens. Not a thing went wrong. It is a beautiful place with multiple wedding venue options. The service was excellent and the staff is so friendly. They definitely make you feel special on your wedding day! Scott, the banquet manager, and all the catering staff were so great during our reception and set up time. Schana was our point of contact for our planning and she was always quick to repsond to my many many questions. I don't have a single complaint about using the Oregon Gardens for our wedding day; it was perfect! -

All I can say is WOW. I have high standards and the staff at the Oregon Garden Resort completely blew me away. Renee is a seasoned wedding event manager and it shows. I am extremely detailed oriented and she asked a ton of great questions I never even thought about. Scott was the person in charge of the nitty gritty logistics around the garden and he seemed to in 10 places at once and took care of every single request with a smile.
Beyond the amazing staff, and let me state again that they are the nicest most capable group of people I have ever encountered, the value of the garden was great as well. The value is multiplied when you factor in just how much they are able to take care of for you. If you compare this to another venue make sure you factor in all the extras that the gardens provide. The only gotcha for us was realizing that the 18% gratuity charges applied to everything. They made it very clear in the contracts, but somehow we missed that it applied to everything. However, after dealing with the staff I can say that 18% is nothing compared to how hard they worked for us.
Almost forgot.. the food! For whatever reason I was not expecting much from the food. I guess I have just been to so many weddings where the food was awful. Anyway, since it was our big day I only got in a few bites. However, when making the rounds everyone kept saying how great the food was. I could tell that people were being honest because every bite on the plates was gone!
I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a gorgeous setting and a great value! -

We chose to have our wedding reception at the Oregon Garden Resort in the Orchid Ballroom. We also reserved 11 rooms for our out-of-town guests. We were so pleased with the outstanding staff and their superior service for the entire event. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was the best it could be. The ballroom was set up exactly as we had hoped, the food was delicious, the bar service was outstanding, and the overall attentivness of the staff was amazing. Our guests were commenting all evening on how pleased they were. We were treated with the utmost of professionalism. It is outstanding service such as this that will keep us coming back and recommending this facility to our friends, family, and business acquaintances. -

We got married on the Garden Green and had our reception in the Pavilion. The Oregon Gardens were really easy to work with, and made sure everything was set up as requested so the other vendors could do their job. I worked with Jessica, who gave me her cell phone number and always got back to me within a few days. It's also nice that the Gardens includes the tables, chairs, etc. which makes things so convenient. It's also a place where a lot of vendors have worked before, so they are familiar with it. If you're looking for an outdoor wedding venue with a "wow" factor, this is it! -

The Oregon Garden staff took care of all the tables, linens, catering, and layout prep work. It was nice working with Mariah who is very organized and competent. We planned our Oregon wedding from Michigan and she was easy to communicate with over the phone and via email. I also did a spray tan at the spa and the ladies there were extremely helpful. It turned out really nice for the day of the wedding. -

I planned a very last minute wedding here and they didn't even bat their eyes, they did everything to help make sure my day was everything I hoped for! Shana was very prompt and kind and allowed me time to make decisions and change my mind! The gardens itself were gorgeous with so many backdrops and things to see! My husband and I had our wedding at the Oregon Garden Resort, August 9th and it really couldn't have been more perfect. Our vision was achieved thanks to Shana, the wedding and social events specialist who was so accommodating from the very beginning, helping us work out all the details through the day of, as well as Paul and Enrique in catering and banquets. The presentation of food was great, as well as the attitude of staff members. It was very obvious the main goal of Paul and Enrique's was to keep us happy as well as guests, and that was well achieved. Thank you Oregon garden for making out day the way it was suppose to be! -

We were very pleased with everyone at the Oregon Garden. The catering staff did an excellent job. We were impressed with how efficient they were. They were very nice and very helpful. All of our guests were complimentary about the food. The meals were really good.
Brian, at the front desk, was helpful getting me a tray of ice when the bride got overheated during photos in the afternoon.
We appreciated Shana's help and organization throughout the process. I want to thank you for your help getting the other guests out of the gazebo for the First Look photos. Thank you for everything.
We are happy that our daughter chose the Oregon Garden for her wedding venue. The setting is gorgeous; all of the staff are great. We could not have asked for anything to have gone more smoothly.

Shana was wonderful to work with throughout the months leading up to our daughter's wedding, especially in the last few days. The lady in charge the night of the wedding (unfortunately I can't recall her name) was also completely flexible and extremely helpful with whatever we needed, as were the bartenders and the staff that cleaned up afterward. We were thrilled with how both the wedding and reception turned out! -

Beautiful venue. So many opportunities for pictures, I didn't have time to go to all the places I wanted but the available golf cart was a huge help, especially in such a big dress!! Easy to schedule meetings with venue coordinators and free access anytime to scout your spaces. Excellent food, a bit on the pricey side, but delicious non the less. The staff was great (and very accommodating to the bride and groom). The group room rate is outstanding but the resort fills fast so if you need more than the 10 rooms they hold (5 double queens & 5 single kings) make sure you get your numbers quick. Very nice rooms with private patio and a fireplace. Plenty of space for getting ready. You are required to have event insurance, which can be pricey, but if you can bundle it with someone's homeowners insurance it's a really good deal. There can be more than one wedding going at once in separate parts of the garden (up to 3 but we had one besides ours) but we had no issues with the other event except for some photo spot overlap. Overall a beautiful day and an outstanding event.
Thank you Oregon Garden Resort Staff!! -

The Oregon Garden venue is gorgeous. The plantings around the wedding garden are spectacular. The orchid Ballroom was spacious. The Oregon Garden Staff are professional and skilled. Every staff member knew their job and did it well. All the pieces of the wedding flowed together seamlessly. The staff and family had agreed to a time schedule. By keeping to the schedule. The details came out correctly (e.g., the champagne was delivered in time for the Father of the Bride to give his toast). The OGR Event Coordinator Shana was a big help to us in visualizing and planning the wedding and reception. Our guests had a wonderful time at the OGR. They liked the rooms, the restaurant, the Fireside Lounge, the view, access to the Oregon Gardens, etc. -

We were very pleased with the our event, everything turned out perfect! The wedding garden was lovely and the reception ballroom and food was excellent. The staff were very accomodating the day of, day before and week before the event. My only complaint really, is that communication could have been better in the months leading up to the wedding. We booked the venue a year in advance with one staff-person, then worked with a different one, and in the final months a 3rd individual. This lead to a few minor miscommunications and moments of panic for the bride and family. I would recommend that the Oregon Garden Resort plan a sit-down meeting with both the wedding coordinator and catering/banquet staff 1-2 months ahead of event to make sure everyone is on the same page. Again, our event ended up perfect! and we are so grateful to all the staff at the resort! -

I had a great experience holding my wedding at The Oregon Garden. Renee is very friendly and was great to work with. Every time we had a concern or needed to ask her to change something, she did it with a smile. Also, she gave my mom and I a lot of advice as to where things should be placed during the reception. The day of the wedding went very smoothly. Everything was set up the day before! Scott was AMAZING. He had such a great attitude and I knew that the event was in good hands the minute I met him. He was joking around with my family and making everyone feel at ease. Also, the staff (from what I heard from my mother) went above and beyond what we expected. Staff members were actually making floral arrangements with our extra flowers and helping decorate prior to the ceremony. There isn't much more that The Oregon Garden could have done to make the event run smoother. I'm so happy with how everything turned out, it was a very stress-free day for me! -

What a great venue. Their on site catering was delicious. We were also able to customize our menu to exactly what we wanted. The grounds were beautifully manicured and ready for our day. It was so nice to have te resort on site as well so people didn't have to worry about driving. We chose the market garden/bosque venue and couldn't be happier. We have amazing photos that will last a lifetime and people can't stop saying how beautiful our wedding was! -

I was so pleased with my experience at the Oregon Garden! It is an absolutely beautiful venue. The website doesn't even come close to showing the actual beauty of the grounds. During the wedding planning process the reception coordinator was extremely accommodating and willing to work with us to make sure everything fit into our budget. The day of the wedding my visions become reality! I have never been to a more beautiful wedding. The coordinator and staff were extremely professional and provided wonderful service. My guests were also very impressed by not only the appearance, but the food and service as well. Friends and family that were aware of the price I paid for this amazing wedding, were shocked by how reasonable it was. I would recommend anyone considering a future wedding to take a tour, you will love it! It is well worth the drive from the Portland area. -

Our wedding came out so beautiful!! We chose the Garden Green and Grand Hall. The venue was absolutely beautiful and the resort was fantastic as well. We had a lot of family from out of town so it was very convenient for everyone to stay there. And they all enjoyed their stay as well. The only thing that kept me from giving them all 5's was when I had access to my venue for the rehearsal and also on the day of my wedding to begin set up, I had to go find someone that worked there. Which took time because I had no idea who was in charge and really no idea where to find them. It would have been much more helpful if the banquet captain or someone was there when I was there for all the questions I had.-

We went to view the Wedding Garden and Orchid Ballroom in February. It was rainy and windy but still looked beautiful. When we looked at the prices on the brochure, we didn't fully factor in the 18% gratuity on the whole price. And that added up to be about $1000 more. However, when we spoke to them about our budget, they really worked with us. Which was awesome.
The day of was an on and off rainy day. I was in contact with the venue about set up as they needed to know whether or not to set up outside or not. They were fairly flexible with it (more than I expected). I had a really great experience there. -

I had my wedding at the Oregon Garden and Resort on August 1st. We held a welcome party in the Wedding Garden, the ceremony in the Silverton Market Garden, and the reception in the Bosque. All of the events were catered by the Resort and all of our out-of-town guests stayed there.
Positives: The location is beautiful, service is friendly, things went smoothly, the staff is very accommodating and helpful, Christine Bradbury (events coordinator) is a lot of fun and knows what she is doing, the rooms are really nice and comfortable.
Small negatives: Christine Bradbury can be difficult to get in touch with, my reservation for the wedding suite & getting-ready room got lost, and the card keys for the rooms kept getting de-activated.
Overall though, small things will always go wrong when there is a big event held somewhere. And, the Garden staff was really helpful in trying to deal with the little problems. For example, Christine comped a room for us to get ready in and let us use the salon space for makeup & hair due to my lost reservation.
In the end, all was well and the event was a blast, so I recommend the Garden both as regular hotel and a great place to host parties and other events. -

The Oregon Garden resort is a beautiful location with comfortable, clean and well-appointed guest rooms, an excellent restaurant and bar with outstanding service, and multiple locations for gathering as a family. We chose to utilize the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Gordon House on the garden grounds (available through separate rental) as a brunch space to the delight of our family and friends. -

The Oregon Garden Resort was a wonderful place to get married. Having the ceremony site and venue in the same location was perfect, not to mention our guests could stay at the Resort as well. Make sure you reserve the Bridal Suite & Getting Ready Room for your wedding. The food was great and they were willing to work with our guests who had dietary concerns. Tina, Peggy and Scott were very helpful during our planning process and the day of the wedding.
My only issue with the Oregon Garden Resort was in the salon and the lack of responsiveness, professionalism and flexibility by the Salon Manager. If you are planning on having your hair, make-up or nails done for your wedding, go to an outside salon or having them come to you. -

The Oregon Garden is a beautiful venue and their special events coordinator, Shana, is great to work with. My only complaint is that you have to use their catering service for all food and drinks other than the wedding cake. They have a pretty good selection of items, but with no competition, they can set their prices pretty high. -

Our experience at the Oregon Garden Resort turned out beautifully for our August 2nd wedding. We loved the gardens for both our wedding and rehearsal dinner. Shana was great in communicating with us through the entire process and seeing that our vision was carried out. The food was delicious, tables were set, and those working the event that night were incredibly hard working.
There were a few things that I would recommend for the Oregon Garden Resort including getting a steamer for a wedding venue, not recommending the Bridal Getting Ready Suite to brides as there was a non-existent air conditioner (room was at least 95 degrees) and just making sure all small details are taken care of (setting napkins right way, making sure there is the right number of chairs, and that when services are paid for they are rendered). For this venue, I would absolutely hire a wire coordinator to help. With the help of our wedding coordinator all small details were taken care of and we loved our venue.

The Oregon Gardens is a beautiful location however pretty expensive. We had a beautiful ceremony! The reception area could have been a little cooler! Also, all the extra food just goes to waste they require you to spend so much but will not allow you to take any home! We had so many left overs that just got thrown away.
The bridal suite and the rooms were pretty nice however; one of my guests had an issue with dirty bedding when she checked in. -

This was hard for me to review because we had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this company right as the main wedding planner had left and a not very experienced person had taken over. She was then fired just previous to our day and we had to start with someone new. That being said, the newer person, (Shana), that took over for the original person was awesome. She was way more helpful than the original and had to deal with a bunch of issues that the original person had messed up. She made it right. The day of was perfect. The staff were nothing but gracious and helpful and the venue was freeking beautiful. If we had to do it over, we'd go there again.
I will say that you want to read your contract carefully. The Moonstone company will try to nickle and dime you. For instance, They tried to add gratuity to the corking fees. Also, they have a policy of only giving you 10 hotel rooms at a time. So, if you have a big guest list of people staying the night, reserve the amount of rooms you want on your visa and then let them go if you don't use them. They original person "helping" us did not tell us that, and we ended up having to reserve rooms at a hotel for some of our guests which did not make us very happy.
All in all, there were some weird rules that made it kind of a pain, but like I said, the staff and venue were both amazing. -

The Oregon Garden was a great venue. Though we were double booked and had to move locations at the last minute, our coordinator did a great job of helping us comfortably move to the other location and making sure we had access to the same ammenities as we would in the other room. The only downsides for me were the high cost of catering and drinks, and the inability to use sparklers, etc. for a grand exit. -

Ok, I need to make a note about my scores... These scores are solely for the person we worked with in "planning" our wedding. We had a different crew help us the day before and the day of the wedding and they did an AWESOME job; I would give them all 5's... But for my overall experience leading up to the wedding, I would not give them high scores. The person we worked with was un-professional and you could tell she did the least amount of work possible to get the job done. She brought up issues that we told them about the day we rented the venue (one year before our wedding) the week before my wedding. I'm sorry, but as a bride, I don't need the added stress the week before my wedding over something that they knew about ALL YEAR! The person who does their weddings is not a "warm" person and does not make it a special experience for you and your fiancé. She was horrible at returning calls and always wanted to send e-mails; I'm sorry, but face to face and over the phone is way easier. Then when I called her out on matters, she stopped sending me e-mails or talking to me, instead to started contacted my fiancé. 9 out of 10 times the bride is the one planning the wedding, so going to the groom does not seem beneficial at all. I would strongly recommend this place for your wedding (as it is a beautiful place), but I would say please wait until Tina no longer does the weddings there. -

My wedding was everything I could have wanted atheistically & I got so many compliments on the ambiance. That being said, the service from the Oregon Garden was less than impressive. Here's why: We had to do all our own setup and take down including hanging things using a very tall ladder (seems like a huge unwise liability for the OGR). $3,300 in venue rental only got us tables, linens, dish ware, and a few staff to man the buffet line. We had to pay extra for a bartender. We had to pay $100 per HOUR for use of a golf car to drive our elderly guests from the hotel to the ceremony/reception site & back. The cart was also supposed to be available to us during our photo time to help us get around the gardens quickly. I never saw the golf cart when we were taking pictures and the elderly only got to use the golf cart for the ride at the end of the reception, because it was no where to be found before the wedding. We stayed at the OGR the night before and night of our wedding as did most of our guests. They tried to get us to pay for our room both nights. Every single other venue I looked at included a free hotel room for the bride and groom and only after we pointed this out multiple times, did they offer us our wedding night for free. Given that with our wedding costs plus our guests' hotel rooms, they made at least $20,000 off our wedding, they should have offered us a free stay without being asked. It felt uncomfortable and tacky that we had to insist on that. Finally, we had a signed contract with prepaid beer and wine based on a guesstimate the wedding coordinator there had. We never got a final bill & 1 week after our wedding, our credit card was charged for another $80. It took 4 phone calls & 3 emails to get anyone from OGR to respond to me & when they did, the final bill showed I should have gotten a refund based on our actual consumption vs estimated costs. To date, I still have not gotten an adequate explanation from them why I have been charged more money. -

We had our wedding in November 2013. I rated quality of service 4.5 due to the fact that in the end everything worked out. However, there were many issues along the way. When we first booked in late 2012 or early 2013 we made all arrangements with one person. Over the course of the 11 months that followed that person was replaced twice, without ever notifying myself or my husband who we were to contact if we needed something. We went to the tasting for the brides and grooms and the food was TERRIBLE. Cold and rubbery and not good, it made it difficult to choose or want to choose our food (Note: The food at the wedding was AMAZING). The pricing was expensive, however the venue is amazing, so I expect that and didn't find that to be an issue. We were not able to have a rehearsal unless we wanted to do it several days before or the day of. It was only after I got angry that they agreed to give us an hour in a different room the night before. Booking the rooms for my guests was difficult as they never actually put the rooms in our name, so when our family tried to book rooms at the resort they were told there weren't any rooms. The "getting ready room" is tiny and they charge you an extra $100 even though you are spending $2500 on the venue in the first place. In the end the wedding went smooth and the staff working was professional and very patient with my drunken guests. Everything moved along flawlessly. It was everything prior to the wedding day that left such a bad taste in my mouth. Overall, I'd recommend Oregon Gardens because the garden and the venue is unbelievably gorgeous, but don't expect much from the "wedding coordinators." -

Disappointed. Personally would not recommend
The package I purchased is no longer on their listing, but it was 1695 | believe, not including fees, and included one hour of the venue, a couples massage, a night in the honeymoon suite, a sparkling wine toast at the reception following the ceremony with chocolate covered fruit, dinner vouchers for entrees at their restaurant for my husband and l, as well as a bottle of sparkling wine with dinner. While that sounds like a great deal, when fees were added it was over 2K. Which is fine, but just a heads up about the fees.
Unfortunately we had a poor experience with this venue. There was no communication from staff, including the staff member we were told would be there to ensure things ran smoothly (part of the fees included gratuity and some of that went to this staff member even though we never met them or saw them once). We had planned to have the elopement outside, but about an hour before the weather was getting bad so we decided to move inside. My dad, husband, and FIL tried to access the reserved room at 345, as our ceremony started at 4, so they could put a few decorations and make it look nice. They were told they could not enter because it wasn't 4, even though in prior emails I was told we had an hour beforehand to decorate. Due to this, and a break in the weather, we decided to move back outside 10 minutes before the ceremony started. Even though there was only 4 of us, we of course still wanted a nice place for our ceremony. I take fault for moving it back outside last minute (though there was no set up needed since everyone stood so we just walked from one place to another instead), but I'm glad I did as we had cake in the indoor room provided and there was literally applications and advertisements for a job fair on the tables. Not the place l'd want my ceremony. I had asked about using a speaker for one song to walk down the aisle to, and one song to have a dance with my new husband to. I offered to pay for this but was told they would include it. Our ceremony started about 30 minutes late because they were trying to get the speaker to work. No one had thought to test it outside, even though that's where the wedding had been planned for. No staff member communicated this to me, as if they had we had a back up speaker I would've used.
Eventually I decided we should just start because I had no idea what was going on and it was running so late. so we had no song to walk down the aisle to and I didn't get to dance with my husband (or dad or FIL) which is the most upsetting part for me as I can never get that opportunity back. Following the ceremony we went inside for cake, and that's when I first saw the state of that room. I don't think it would've been hard to remove the references to the job fair.
There were no plates or forks for the cake, when one of my vendors went to ask for some they were treated as if they were an inconvenience. Still no help from staff. The only contact/help we had from staff was the one who tried to hook up the speaker. The massages were also booked wrong. When I brought these issues up the next day, and via email, the coordinator put all of the blame on me for moving back outside right before the wedding and acting like she did me all these favors (with things I offered to pay for, like the speaker). No reason given for why the staff member who was supposed to make sure things ran smoothly never made any contact with us, why the speaker wasn't tested outside beforehand, why the indoor room was in the state it was in, why we were denied access to decorate after being told we could, etc. I also emailed the GM. I did not receive any help until after I posted a review. I did not want to deal with the woman who was the event coordinator due to her not taking responsibility for anything and referring to my wedding as a “learning experience”, but I did deal with the GM, she did finally email me back a week later after I left a voicemail the prior day. She did authorize for some money to be refunded and I think she did try to make up for it to the best of her ability, and she did admit where the staff was at fault. Overall it was still a beautiful day since I married the man I love, but I would not recommend this venue. If you have your heart set on it, I would recommend using a wedding planner/coordinator not tied to the venue to make sure things run smoothly. -

Do not have your wedding here!
For such an exorbitant price, one would expect exceptional service, and this was not the case. We were not given the alcohol that we ordered, nor was there enough meat or food for our guests even though we ordered well over the actual number of guests in attendance. Some items we ordered were not even present at the reception! Furthermore, the wedding event coordinator for the Garden was so difficult to communicate with, did not correctly input our banquet event order, and failed to provide the services promised. Also, the “resort” rooms are straight from the 1990’s. While the grounds are beautiful, I would suggest that a couple looking to get married not use this venue! Very disappointing! -

Just last month my husband and I got married at the Oregon Gardens and we would like to tell all brides: DO NOT USE THIS VENUE!
In addition to being very pricey, the billing is very shady and management is very poor. Not only did we overpay in advance for food, we also paid in advance for cases of wine and champagne with the understanding we would be refunded for what was unused. At the end of the reception, the bartender told me how many bottles had been used and that I would be refunded (about half of what I paid for); we are STILL battling to get our money back.
Tina, the Garden's event coordinator, who had been very difficult to get a hold of throughout the planning process, did not show up to the rehearsal to cover last minute details as she said she would. There were also several “over looked,” lost, or mishandled events during the planning – such as the lost wine order, mischarging the honeymoon suit, and charging but not reserving the bridal party get-ready room. Tina also over-stepped her bounds many times throughout the evening, including yelling at the bride about there being a wedding cake in the freezer right as I am lined up to walk down the aisle. Absolutely unacceptable etiquette.
In addition to suspicious business practices, the gardens were left a mess by staff the day of the wedding. If it hadn't been for the amazing Groom and Groom's men, the whole day simply wouldn't have happened. In dress blue uniforms, decorated in metals and fresh home from war, these men had to clean scum out of the man made reflection ponds, pick up large piles of debris left in the middle of the wedding aisle, and pick up buckets of gardening tools left in the seating area. The groom's men had to scramble to set up the bar in the garden as guests arrived and serve them water at the designated start time, because the bar and its supplies were still in boxes and the paid staff was nowhere to be found. The groom’s men also had to set up the tables and chairs in the reception area when garden staff unloaded the truck and left them there, despite having had a meeting and mapping out table placement with the on-site coordinator Tina, who assured me her staff would set them up according to the specifications. In a pile and unusable were not a part of my directions.
Additionally, there were no working lights in the any of outdoor bathrooms, half of the lights in the reception area were not working, and the water fountains were not turned on. I'm not sure why we paid over $2500 (plus an additional 18% gratuity) to rent this facility if its basic amenities weren't even working. It would have been a quick fix had any one checked it at all prior to the event.
Using the Garden's on site catering was mandatory and at the upper-high end of catering menus. Food was mediocre and was serve-yourself buffet style. After the wedding, I had more than one guest tell me that when they went up for seconds they were told, "No. This food is for the servers." That is completely unacceptable to tell guests!
After talking to Oregon Garden management after the event, none of the issues above have been resolved. Management gave a very flippant response to these issues. If they continue at this rate, they will run themselves into the ground.
I'm so grateful to our amazing wedding party that went above and beyond the call of duty to pull our big day off. Had it been left to the care of Oregon Garden management and staff, our day would have been a disaster!
