This venue and its team were absolutely amazing to make my special day perfect! I couldn’t have imagined it being anymore perfect! The location is great and the inside is absolutely stunning. The bar staff was wonderful!

    The perfect venue

My husband and I had our reception in their vintage gym. It was so unique and beautiful and quaint. The only down side was since they are non-profit it is really hard to get a hold of someone to help you with any questions. But they always pulled through and Michelle was awesome wedding day! The open bar was great as well.

Peggy Murphy was very available to help with our planning - even though we were out of town! I loved getting to celebrate my marriage in a place that was so dear to my childhood. All of our guests loved the unique and historic venue. We loved it!

This was a fabulous "blank slate" for our reception, with tons of character. Totally unique and vintage. Peggy was amazing to work with, super responsive and helpful, and very calming throughout the process. The staff was very helpful and kind as well. Highly recommend. Also extremely convenient to all the charms of Delray Beach.

This venue was EVERYTHING I was looking for. Every single guest at my wedding commented on the uniqueness of the venue, not to mention that Downtown Delray is a very cute area. Peggy Murphy handles all the events at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts (formally Old School Square) and she was extremely responsive and communicative the week before the wedding. Keep in mind you will need to bring in catering, decor, etc. but I felt it was worth it. Peggy's preferred vendors list was very helpful, as well! There was a chance of rain on the "day of" and I was given multiple Plan B options. Thankfully in the end we were able to use the lawn outside between the museum and theater buildings for the ceremony. We used the "Vintage Gym" for the reception of 125.

I knew I was going to get married here before I even met the groom - and I'm not the type of girl who planned her entire wedding as a child. I just love this venue *that* much! Good thing my fiance loved it, too. :) The setting is beautiful, Peggy is extremely helpful and accommodating and the cost is very budget-friendly! At the last minute, we had to move the ceremony inside and everything went extremely smoothly. Many of our guests came up to me during the reception to tell me how unique and beautiful the vintage gymnasium was. Success!

I really love the outdoors at the Old School Square. Peggy is the coordinator and she is very helpful. She is also extremely busy because this is a busy event grounds. But she gets back to you:-) They were very accomodating in areas where they didn't have to be. We got married in the walkway between the museum and the school. The outdoors was beautiful for our June 6 pm wedding (a little hot- but beautiful). I would definately recommend this venue.

Old-school square was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted something that would be both laid back and beautiful and this venue achieved that and then some! We had so many guests complement us and what a unique venue we had chosen. And it's proximity to everything in downtown Delray made the entire wedding week at breeze. They were flexible with our vendors and when it looked like it might rain, they had two potential back up plans available for us and were ready to do whatever it took to make sure our day still went off without a hitch. Thankfully, it didn't rain and we got to have our ceremony in front of the beautiful tree outside of the theater. It really was the perfect backdrop and we had an amazing wedding!

OSS is the perfect blank canvas to create your dream wedding! Mark and Peggy were very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us! truly amazing! The only negative I must mention is that Peggy is extremely busy coordinating events at OSS therefore she was sometimes difficult to get in touch with.

I had a lot of friends recommend old school square to me when I was looking at different venues in the area. I didn’t think the old gymnasium was going to be what I was looking for but I went to check it out because i really loved that it was right in the heart of Downtown Delray. The minute I walked through the doors at the gym I knew I found our venue. The dark wood throughout the building was exactly the look and feel i wanted for my reception. The bistro lights gave the room a warm and whimsical feel, i was able to visualize my first dance under them. The upstairs balcony makes for a great mingle area, for those that didn’t want to be on the dance floor but take it all it, they had a bird’s eye view. It was especially great for my photographer and videographer to capture every moment. We used the balcony for the photo booth we rented, it was really wonderful to be able to have it upstairs because it didn’t allow the booth to steal the show and I still had tons of guest dancing the night away. The grounds around the gymnasium have a nice shaded area for cocktail area, lush trees that make for great natural back drops and the beautiful breezeway that makes for a perfect ceremony. Highly recommend Old School Square for anyone looking for a vintage feel in Delray Beach.

    Must have planner!

This venue was absolutely beautiful! Our guests loved the uniqueness and it is where me and my husband will have memories for a lifetime. Our wedding took place on the NW lawn, cocktail hour in the museum and reception in the fieldhouse. With all the different sites on OSS campus, all equally unique and beautiful with a vintage look, you really cannot go wrong! I must warn you, this is a blank slate! The only vendors they supply is the bar due to liquor license reasons (glassware NOT included) and indoor tables and nice wood chairs for rent, everything else must be brought in by outside vendors, which is why a wedding planner was so helpful! My planner Nikki with Lisa Pierce events helped coordinate all the vendors and was the main line of communication with OSS. Before my planner, it was extremely frustrating to communicate with OSS mainly because they constantly have events going on and it’s understandable.. recently they added new team members to help with the workload and communication efforts and it definitely improved since then! We ran into road blocks when OSS planned two concerts the same night as our wedding which prevented us from being able to provide valet to our guests or have a solid backup ceremony location if it rained. But I have to admit they made it right by providing the museum to us without charge. The best part was I had my planner to help smooth things out between them and us and ultimately they did their best to make things right. I wouldn’t change a thing about having my wedding here, just know there will probably be roadblocks (just like any other wedding!) but the end result will be amazing.

    Terrible Communication

We fell in love with Old School Square as soon as we saw it and we let them know that we wanted to have our wedding there after seeing it. They looked at the calendar and said nothing was booked for that day. We tried to get ahold of anyone to secure our date and to give a deposit but we couldn't get ahold of anymore. I should note that at the time they were redoing their prices and someone else took on the responsibility of handling wedding and they were very busy with other tasks. We finally got ahold of someone after calling, texting, and emailing multiple times and they said we would 100% have our day secured. We then received an email about a month after actually saying we wanted to put a deposit down from someone else saying that unfortunately there was a concert that day and we couldn't have the ceremony where we wanted and they didn't allow food trucks (this was something we told we could have). We emailed back saying that we were told nothing else was booked that day and after speaking with them by phone they said that the concert shouldn't affect us because they would ask them to not do their sound check until after 4:00pm. We decided to not go through with the venue because of the difficulty getting ahold of someone, accidentally booking the concert on the same day (I'm assuming this is what happened but they never actually told us what happened), and just not having confidence that things would go smoothly.
