I bake and I was not impressed at all. I ordered 3 cupcakes and the icing taste too much like shortening.

Delicious and gorgeous cakes

The owner met with us even though we didn't make an appointment. We planned on ordering a few cupcakes to try and then schedule an appointment at a later time. But as soon as we mentioned to the staff that the bakery had been recommended by close friends and we were there to buy cupcakes to try for our wedding, the owner came out to give us samples anyways and discuss possible cakes. We still bought a dozen cupcakes to go and placed our order for the wedding that day. The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing. They were also able to make milk free and soy free cupcakes for our friends with allergies.

Amazing product, unbeatable price, impeccable service! Marcia and her team were great, and on point with all the details, down to cake design, arrival time, and arranging the flowers on the cake! Very pleased with the end result!

Oh, What a Cake! was the first place that we did out taste test at and let me tell you, they set the bar high! We went to two other vendors but kept finding ourselves comparing them to Oh, What a Cake! When we first went, we thought we wanted cupcakes for our wedding and so that is what was prepared for us to taste. After some rearranging of the wedding details we decided that we wanted a cake after all. They were super flexible and had us come back in to taste their flavor filled cakes! We decided on lemon with raspberry filling for our 3 tiered wedding cake and then had two additional kitchen cakes (to serve all of our 205 wedding guests!), one was their caramel apple, which is to die for, and the other was almond with amaretto. I would highly recommend Oh, What a Cake for any event!

You could eat this cake by itself, it stands alone and is only made THAT much better by the delicious buttercream frosting. We were looking specifically for a cake that was decorated with mostly buttercream. Oh What a Cake does a PHENOMENAL job decorating with buttercream. Our cake was BEAUTIFUL and looked like one that had fondant covering it but WAY more delicious. The owner and baker also provides many flavor combinations, I recommend trying as many as possible!

Marcia is a life saver. Our original baker closed shop with no notice, and we were left scrambling for new baker for our cookie favors. With only 1 month before our wedding we reached out to several vendors and they were all booked. Marcia was able to include us in her schedule and even provided cookie samples, so we could try out the favors we found on Pinterest. After trying the samples we realized the idea was too sweet. By providing the samples it allowed us to ask her if she had other ideas for sand dollar cookies. She made these delicious almond cookies with almond slivers and we were sold. Lastly, the pricing was very reasonable and we were able to stay within our budget. I look forward to ordering birthday cakes and cookies from her in the near future.

Oh, What a Cake baked my wedding cake. Delicious! The staff was so friendly and attentive and met all of my expectations. I will be using them as my bakery for all of my celebrations.

We ordered a 3 tiered wedding cake in 3 different flavors for our daughters october 2014 wedding. The cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious!! All three flavors were wonderful and the guests raved about them. Marcia was fantastic to work with - the customer service here is great and the prices are very reasonable. Would highly recommend!!!

Marcia was awesome to work with! She sat down with us to discuss our ideas and options. The end result was a beautiful, delicious cake, she even decorated the cake with flowers that I provided her. We had a caramel apple wedding cake that all the guests raved about! We can't wait to cut into our anniversary cake! Thank you!

For our wedding, I had planned on using a friend of a friend to bake our cake, as she is an independent baker and has made several wedding cakes for large wedding parties in the past, and has a lot of experience. A few months before the wedding when we met with the venue they advised us that the cake has to be provided by an insured and licensed baker, which our friend unfortunately was not. Panicked, I did a quick Google search for bakeries in MD and found this bakery since I live in Columbia. I spoke with Marcia and explained the situation to her, and she squeezed us in the same day to meet with her. She gave me an estimate over the phone which was only $5 more than what we had expected to pay originally. The estimate she provided included a 3 tier cake and a sheet cake big enough for 150 people. We chose to have our cake decorated very simply in all white with swiss dots, but she is able to do more elaborate designs. We had the red velvet cake and the butter cake with strawberry filling and they are both delicious! Our guests loved the cake; some people even ate up to 4 pieces! We still have some left over which we have chosen to freeze and save, but we are still taking a piece here and there because the cake is so good. Marcia also sends a free cake on our 1 year anniversary, which I know a lot of bakeries do, but is still a nice touch. I actually forgot to pay her 2 weeks in advance, called her up, and she allowed me to pay over the phone without a problem. Marcia was extremely easy to work with, and very warm and friendly which made us comfortable with her right away. I would definitely recommend working with this bakery for brides on a budget but who want a great tasting cake! We will probably go back there to get cupcakes as well.

Went into Oh, What A Cake on a list minute whim and had my cake tasting, ordered and paid for in less than an hour!! Marcia was very friendly, helpful & made great recommendations to keep within our budget! Everyone loved the cake and I cannot wait for our anniversary cake to eat it again!

Marcia and everyone at Oh What a Cake were wonderful to work with. They provided a beautiful cake that was DELICIOUS! We chose a somewhat intricate design and I was so impressed with how it turned out! They offered a high level of service that made the whole process fun and easy.

I used this company for my 30th birthday cake a couple years ago, it was the most beautiful done cake I had seen! I wanted a "Wicked" the musical themed cake, and the cake they came up with was truly so beautiful I wish we would not have had too cut it. Well when it came time for my wedding, I could think of no other place to go for that. Again, they did exactly as I asked, and it far exceeded my expectations. It was a 3 layer cake, and was absolutely stunning. We wanted simple, but beautiful, and that is exactly what we got. The owner was even kind enough to deliver the cake to our reception hall herself! We love all of them, and will use them for every special occasion from now on. They have gained a lifetime couple of customers for sure!

LOVED OUR WEDDING CAKE!!! It was so amazing beautiful and tasty. Marcia was great during the planning process, she sat with us to understand what we wanted and had us try all of their amazing cake flavors, fillings and frosting. Will definitely use them again for other cake needs.

Oh! What a Cake! Everything about this company is fantastic. Marcia was a pleasure to work with and the cakes turned out both beautiful and tasty! I will definitely be back for birthday cakes, cupcakes, whatever else! On top of a perfect product, Marcia's pricing is extremely reasonable. We customized everything and she was happy to oblige and provide us with taste tests of our flavor ideas.

Marcia at Oh What a Cake, was wonderful to work with and really knew how to get us exactly what we were looking for. She provided our wedding cake and also some additional truffles and cake bites! Her prices were very reasonable and she was very flexible in making changes as we went. She also delivered the cake and followed up whenever needed so I never had to worry about this part of the planning process. The cake was AMAZING and all of our guests are still talking about how great it was! We had part buttercream with cream cheese filling and part red velvet with cream cheese filling. I highly recommend going here if you're looking for a GREAT cake at a reasonable price!!

The cake we got was simply amazing. The staff was great to work with, and their ideas helped us decide on what we wanted for our fully custom cake. The cake tasted amazing. We tried cake at other places and this was by far the best around. The prices were more reasonable than elsewhere. The design of the cake came out way better than we expected. One great bonus to this venue is that they give you a cake for your one year anniversary so you don't have to save the top tier and eat gross, old, frostbitten cake. We're excited to get more of their glorious cake! All of the guests were impressed with everything about the cake. Highly recommended cake place, and we'll be back at least for some delicious cupcakes!

We often purchase cupcakes from Oh, What a Cake! therefore it seemed likely that we would use them for our wedding cake. We did try a few other locations but we came back to Oh, What a Cake! We ordered half red velvet and half yellow cake. Being from the south, we know what a red velvet cake should taste like. Needless to say, it was delicious.

Our cake was amazing, we got so many comments on how good it tasted! We were able to choose as many different flavors as we wanted, which allowed us to get 3 tiers as well as a sheet cake in the back. We originally had gotten a quote from another company for double the price, but Oh What a Cake's price was half as much and tasted just as good! We had a custom cake topper which was a Testudo (University of Maryland Mascot) bride and groom on top of the cake, and they turned out fantastic! People could not stop talking about them all night! Other cake places we went to told us we would not be able to keep the cake toppers if they made them, but we were able to keep these and will be able to remember our cake forever! And I love that on our 1 year anniversary we get to go back for a new cake, instead of having to freeze our top layer! We would definitely recommend them to everyone!

We loved our cake! Marcia really worked with us to help us get the perfect cake design for our ceremony. The cake was beautiful, tasted AMAZING, and photographed well. Marcia even made a special effort to be sure the flowers in between our cake layers were just right. We loved Oh What a Cake and so did our guests!

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience working with Oh, What a cake! My coworker recommended this company while we were looking at different wedding vendors and we are thankful she did! We met Marcia, the stores owner during our tasting, and we were very impressed with the variety of flavors! We ultimately decided on a coconut and chocolate layered cake to give our guests choices to suit their preferences.

Marcia and her staff were extremely personable throughout the planning process! When my husband and I called or stopped by the store, they remembered us by name and could recall all of the details about our wedding. We loved that we were more than a last name and a number at Oh, What a cake!

Overall, our wedding cake was beautiful and tasted SO good!! Marcia put real roses in between the layers to add height to our cake and sprinkled extra rose petals around the table. ALL of our guests LOVED the presentation and taste of the cake flavors. I highly recommend this company if you want an easy planning process and a tasty cake!

I was so thrilled to find Oh, What a Cake! I live in Columbia and so it couldn't have been easier and more convenient finding a baker right in my own neighborhood. Marcia, the owner, opened her business last year and is famous around town for her delectable cupcakes.

I happened to stumble onto Oh, What a Cake! by accident and I'm so glad that I did. My husband and I had an island/Hawaiian themed wedding and reception and Marcia had so many great ideas on cake flavors. We ended up choosing two flavors -- chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and coconut cake with pineapple mousse. It was such a fresh idea having two flavors of cake, especially the chocolate. Most weddings I've been to have one flavor and it's almost always yellow cake with raspberry filling. Marcia is just full of unique ideas for different flavors to match your theme.

I was equally impressed that she had an emergency back up plan for the day of the wedding and she delivered the cake herself! We were able to work within our budget and not have to give up quality to stick within a reasonable price range.

I would highly recommend Oh, What a Cake for your wedding or special event. You will not regret it and your guests will be talking about how delicious your cake was for years to come!

Marcia and her staff are absolutely amazing! My cake tasting went incredibly well and she was very accommodating to the style of cake I wanted. I was able to mix flavors-my husband wanted butter and I loved lemon so we had both in each slice. I finally saw the finished product as I sat during my reception and I was so happy, my cake was flawless inside out! I can't wait until our year anniversary to whip it out of the freezer and taste it all over again!

Like most of the other aspects of my wedding, my wife and I tried to keep costs down. With that in mind, I can't emphasize enough the VALUE that we got out of Oh, What A Cake! After we tried their cupcakes, we were hooked. The cake was moist and delicious and there was a wide variety of options and flavors to pick from. We were able to pick 3 different flavors and went with Chocolate & Peanut Butter, Butter Cream & Butter Cream, and Almond Cake with Amaretto Frosting. They actually sold us DOWN when we were trying to figure out what size to get, and made a sheet cake to cover the extra pieces. The design was pretty too and they worked with our florist to get real flowers to add to the cake. Overall it was an A+ experience.

This bakery is awesome! I was able to have two flavors of cake (chocolate and lemon), and the bakers were able to replicate a beautiful cake I'd seen in a magazine. The prices are very reasonable, in my opinion, and on the wedding day, the cake was moist and delicious, and very pretty!

Our wedding cake looked fantastic! Marcia did a great job and followed our instructions exactly as to what we were looking for. Her prices were so much better than most of the other bakers in the area (almost half!), and her cakes are more delicious than the others we tasted. Everyone raved about the cake.

We loved our cupcake wedding cake. We did 4 flavors and a top cake (chocolate peanut butter, butter/butter cream, lemon raspberry, and chocolate chocolate) I didn't really like the design of my top cake. The price was very right though and they delivered all the way to Deep Creek (2 1/2 hrs) away ON TIME!

I chose Oh What A Cake based on my desire to have cupcakes with fillings, instead of the traditional wedding cake. All of the cakes that I tasted were absolutely delicious, and they were willing to share their creativity with me in order to help me reach the image I had in mind.

I felt that their prices for delivery and actual cost of the cupcakes was very fair in comparison to the other bakers I visited. And they had a broader variety of flavors.

I did not have any issues with them, but they did arrive about an hour after the time they set with me in order to deliver my cupcakes. They were setting up dessert as guests were talking in. I do not know what prevented them from being there on time, but we were unable to reach them to find out where they were.
