From our first conversation with Michael, he made us feel confident that he would provide an experience with smooth transitions, energy, and music that we love. His expertise made the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception flow so well; he was so attentive to the energy of the guests to move things along when the time was right, and the mix of music on the dance floor was both great for getting people on the dance floor and personalized to us. Mother of the Groom!
Michael and his wife were so wonderful, start to finish, to work with. During the planning, all of the O'Dea staff were so responsive and helpful. My son and I had put together a little mix for our dance and Michael had no problem including our file with that mix. It played perfectly. Throughout the day and night, the timing of all the music was absolutely spot on. From the ceremony, to the reception introductions to all our specialty dances, it was wonderful!! This man is a PARTY in the best way.
The vibes were immaculate. Every part of the wedding that Mike touched was perfect. We were given free reign on song choices and preferences via an easy to complete questionnaire. Our first dance was perfectly timed! Set up was quick and professional. Sound equipment was high quality and well situated in the space. The dance floor was never empty for the evening due to Mike's perfect gauge of how to keep the party going. I cannot recommend this DJ enough, he is everything you need for a perfect event.

From the first conversation with Ed his years of experience shown through. His attention to detail was remarkable and truly made sure our song choices for the ceremony would fit at exactly the right time that we would want them to. I could just tell we were in great hands! Fast forward to our wedding day and to say that Ed did an amazing job is simply an understatement. The dance floor was packed the entire reception, you could just tell that everyone was having a great time. Perfect wedding music!
My sister hired Micheal O'Dea for her wedding several years ago, and we still remember how fun the dance floor was. That was the reason my husband and I picked Michael for our own wedding, and he did not disappoint! He plays all the right music at the right time without being "too much" like some MCs can be. Mike and his team were awesome! From the very first conversation we had with Mike, it was clear that he was going to deliver an awesome experience for our wedding guests. He listened to our preferences and tailored the night to our music choices, while also putting his twist on the night and using his expertise to make sure there was energy at all times. Our guests danced from start to finish and we had so many people tell us that the music was perfect, even the older crowd! It was clear Mike really knew how to read a room and that was a huge difference maker in keeping our dance floor full.
Mike also made sure the acoustics for our ceremony and speeches at the reception were perfect. We got married in a large ballroom, which often makes the sound a bit tricky, but he knew exactly what we needed so no matter where someone was sitting, all of our guests were able to hear everything. We can't recommend Mike and his team enough!

One decision during wedding planning I was most anxious about was who to hire as a DJ for my wedding. O'Dea Entertainment came highly recommended from some acquaintances of ours. After a 30 minute intro call with Michael, it was clear he knew exactly how to deliver on a killer vibe for our small, rooftop wedding. From the email responsiveness of his team to the custom music cuts and cues, they really went above and beyond for us. Michael read the crowd just right and the flow of music was so natural and played to the room, the most painful part was when everything had to end! 11/10, could not strongly recommend O'Dea Ent. enough!

I cannot recommend Dj Ed enough and will even go as far as saying he is the best wedding DJ for any wedding I have been to! From the beginning of our search, using O'Dea has been flawless. Clara from the front office took care of all the admin stuff and we were able to meet with Ed the week of the big day. I told him that one of my biggest priorities at our wedding was for everyone to have fun- and he delivered. He was a little weary since the reception was longer than most - we were set to dance for 5 hours (not sure if this would happen or not- but we sure were going to give our best)- and with the help of DJ Ed- we delivered! Ed kept a massive number of guests on the dance floor for the WHOLE 5 hours. He did an amazing job of reading the crowd and sticking to my very strict request of not having any "cheesy line dances" no matter how many times they were requested. Many of my guests commented on how great the music was. Ed was also in charge of ceremony/cocktail hour and dinner music and was flexible enough to come early to set everything up and extend his time as I added on pre ceremony music at the midnight hour. I highly recommend Ed and O'Dea entertainment for anyone needing DJ services. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Ed for being such a critical part of our special day! Absolutely fantastic and memorable
DJ Mike was awesome!!!! Just so enthusiastic and friendly with everyone. What I thought was really special was making a point to call me out (bride) on the dance floor. It was so cool and it pumped everyone up. He always kept eye contact during the specialty dances so we would know when to fade music out. I appreciated that! So attentive and stuck to the playlist given. Recommended!!!!

Michael O'Dea was awesome to work with throughout our process and took all of our questions and input with a great attitude. He read the dancefloor incredibly well throughout the night, and really gave the people the crowd pleasers we - and they - wanted.

Only DJ we would ever consider
Finding someone who genuinely enjoys guiding and being a part of the party is difficult and O'dea Entertainment is the standard I have yet to see any DJ achieve (I am a vendor outside of our own wedding with 100+ weddings across 5 states under my belt). There is zero possibility you will be disappointed in your experience - and if you are, it was probably your own fault. Above and beyond doesn't touch the level of service, atmosphere, and effort O'dea gave our wedding day.

The dancefloor at our wedding was packed!
Mike is the best wedding DJ ever! I told him that one of my biggest priorities at our wedding was to have a packed dance floor and he delivered! The floor was full the whole night. I am really into music and picky and gave him a pretty extensive list of music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception, with the stipulation that he could read the crowd for the dance floor. He did an amazing job and gave me everything I asked for and then some. He also provided some amazing uplighting that really helped enhance my vision of how I wanted the reception to look. His wife Rebecca does the admin side of things and she is super sweet and helpful as well. Highly recommend them for your wedding!

The best music and entertainment experience you can ever want!
Michael, Ed, and Rebecca were absolutely fantastic during this whole process. Their experience and knowledge of this industry is so vast and you can clearly tell by just speaking with them. More importantly, they know how to party! From passing out sunglasses, spraying CO2 on the floor and in the air (Just ask them about it), to making all the announcements and playing hit after hit. We knew it was going to be great but didn’t think it would have been so awesome! We could not get off the dance floor! Would 150% recommend them to anyone and everyone!

We hired O'Dea Entertainment for our wedding in September 2021. O'Dea was very professional and flexible with us given that we changed our wedding date several times. They were detailed in the information they collected but also made it easy for us in building off our song list. During the wedding they read the crowd really well and played songs that everyone liked and were able to dance to. The DJ also coordinated really well with the other vendors on site to capture specific pictures and ensure we were on time! O'Dea was great!

DJ Ed & the whole O’Dea entertainment team went above & beyond on our wedding planning and the day of. The whole process was very smooth, they were super responsive & flexible- we even switched dates & cities. Ed met with us in person a few months prior, let us pick as many songs as we wanted (he incorporated them all into our day perfectly) and we left the rest to him. You can pick as many or few songs as you’d like, which is different from many DJs. He made the perfect playlists for our cocktail hour, dinner & dancing - we were all super impressed. He got to the venue very early (stayed late) and brought great energy & excitement! He also helped with our run of show and guided the day, and got along well with our vendors. Would book him again in a second!!!!

We were overjoyed with their work for our wedding. We had downsized our event over the course of rescheduling and 1) O’Dea were excellent to work with through the rescheduling process and 2) they took our smaller event and we’re able to make it feel perfect. Mike made all of my musical requests come true! I don’t think many DJ’s get a request for a Punk Rock hour, or to Rick Roll the bridal party during their reception entrance AND during the reception in general, but he hit it out of the park! I almost want to do another vow renewal, only with a sweats and hoodie dress code just so he can give us a much longer time allotment for Punk Rock and do his thing! My husband and I aren’t big dancers, but we were dancing ALL. NIGHT. LONG! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mike was AMAZING! Mike was very professional from the first phone conversation we had with him. He was really caring and wanted to make sure his music selection matched our style and how we wanted our wedding to go. The quality of the sound system was awesome! We loved Ed so much! He was wonderful from start to finish and he made our night a total blast! Nobody left the dance floor which was our main goal!! This actually ended up being one of our most favorite parts of the day, and O’Dea Entertainment went above and beyond during the transition to make sure we had what we needed. I found out after the fact that they even assisted our harpist with moving her equipment inside as well. We LOVED having Mike as our MC and DJ! Mike’s energy and professionalism is exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. The O’Dea team did an amazing job of learning all about our favorite music genres and songs, and we heard every song we were hoping to hear! Our guests stayed on the dance floor all night until the venue shut down, and everyone had a wonderful time. We literally had a guest say on his way out, “This is the best day of my life!” as he headed toward the shuttle. I highly recommend O’Dea Entertainment for couples that have some special or unique things in mind for their event. We had several things planned such as a father daughter game of catch, a dance performance, anniversary dances, etc. and Mike did an amazing job of making everything flow smoothly. We are forever grateful for O’Dea Entertainment making their way from Chicago to Colorado to DJ our wedding and party with us! They made the experience so much fun, so enjoyable, and so memorable. O’Dea Entertainment was the best decision!
Ed was fantastic! He took the time to get to know us — our likes and dislikes and met with us face-to-face along with a few follow-up conversations to make sure he had every detail accurate for our wedding ceremony and receptions. His professional demeanor, fun personality and dedication to making sure we had the best play list for the ceremony, cocktail reception and wedding reception was greatly appreciated. He managed to seamlessly integrate, 70s, 80s, 90s and country music. We could not have picked a better DJ than Ed. He kept the dance floor full the entire evening, we would have danced all night long if the venue allowed us! We would highly recommend O’Dea Entertainment/Ed for any event you plan. Great DJ Team
We have worked with Michael several times for different occasions. He was the DJ for my Bat Mitzvah and also was our wedding DJ last night. Once again, the entire crowd loved the music and energy provided from Michael!

Great wedding DJ
We asked O'Dea for a DJ for our wedding, and they connected us with DJ Dave Stripling. Dave was great! He helped us plan our ceremony and reception with thorough (and fun) discussions over Skype in the months before the event. He gathered music from our suggestions and sought input on the format. On the day, he came early and set up professionally. After the ceremony, he did great entrance introductions for the bridal party, and he emceed our shoe game (which he suggested and was a hit). He added personalized touches to the emceeing that we appreciated. Everyone was dancing after dinner, and he kept it up past the time we had scheduled. His music selection matched our requests, and he kept things interesting too. We highly recommend!

Ed O’Dea was our DJ and I couldn’t have asked for a better person for the job. He kept things moving along right on schedule and kept people dancing and having fun. He read the room and played music the entire group enjoyed. Everyone who came commented on how fun it was. My husband and I have a very strong opinion when it comes to music and O'Dea definitely delivered above and beyond our expectations. We knew right from our initial meeting that we were in good hands with O'Dea. We described our taste in music and that we wanted a music festival vibe for our wedding with a everything from Metallica to Cardi B to Andra Day to RL Grime. Mike and his team had the most insane mix of songs for us and kept the dance floor grooving all night long. I want to especially thank them for the impeccable timing of playing Cradle of Love. I had noted that I wanted the song played because my dad named me after the girl in the video and left the rest up to them. Mike played it right after my dad's speech and it could not have been more perfect. Our guests haven't stopped raving about the music and DJ. Our wedding wouldn't have been so amazing without them!

Ed was a fantastic DJ at our wedding (Salvatore's in Chicago, November 2017) and we couldn't have been more pleased! From our first meeting with him we were at ease and knew we were in the hands of a professional. He welcomed our input but also had a great vision on how to make the many moving parts of a wedding reception flow seamlessly from one to the next.
