The perfect wedding venue
Beautiful beachfront wedding, it was everything I dreamed of and more. Amanda is the onsite coordinator and I cant say enough about her professionalism, handling everything, and responsiveness. 10/10 -

I cannot say enough good things about Amanda, the coordinator at Ocean’s Edge. She was so flexible with us planning 1.5 years out and our guest count being cut in half. Our entire engagement she was just a text or email away with the millions of questions my mom and I had while planning my wedding. When the day was approaching, the weather and tide were not in our favor, but Amanda knew exactly what to do and we were able to have our beach ceremony before it poured! Again, I can’t rave about her enough.
As far as the venue, it is absolutely stunning. It was the first and only venue we looked at! For being right on the beach, it is SO reasonably priced for everything you get! Food was delicious and everyone had the best time. Thank you SOOO much Amanda and Ocean’s Edge!

Five Stars!!!
This place made our 25th anniversary/ Vow Renewal held on September 18, 2021 , very special!!! Our guests were very impressed with the panoramic views where our ceremony was held. The reception location was beautiful as well. The service, food, staff and wedding coordinator exceeded our expectations. This place is rated 5 stars in our book. I highly recommend it to anyone for their special day. -

Everything about this venue was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for us! They make having a beach wedding as stress free as the location itself. Everyone raved about the food and how it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding! Amanda is such an amazing coordinator and answered all of my questions along the way without making me feel like I was a bother or that I should have known the answer already. I knew my day would go perfectly because I had her there to keep things on schedule and make sure everything looks as beautiful as I envisioned it. Everything about my day went perfectly and I know that Amanda had a huge hand in that. This truly was the best day ever, and I’m so grateful we decided to go with Oceans Edge as our venue. If you want a beach wedding, this is definitely the best way to have one and know that you’re getting the best possible outcome! -

During our wedding planning process, Ocean's Edge was the first and last wedding venue we toured because we knew from the moment we were there that this was the perfect venue for us! There was constant communication throughout the entire process and Amanda Kemp (wedding coordinator) was the best in making our day perfect! We had the Pender Hall rented Friday and Saturday but was able to come on Sunday to clean up which made it really stress free. We even stayed the night at St. Regis which made the whole experience very relaxing and convenient! Ocean's Edge food was amazing and everyone had a great time at the reception! I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a perfect beach wedding! -

The venue and food was great. Service was exceptional.
Great choice for our daughter's wedding. We worked with Emily and Greg, the owner who provided great customer service and suggestions for a fantastic event. I have to say that Greg really has a handle on how to help pull off a very successful event. His staff is amazing. With rain threatening the outside wedding he kept us up to date on how far out it was to make sure that my daughter would have her dream event on the beach. We were very satisfied with everything that we requested. They were accommodating with letting us in early to decorate and provided a welcoming atmosphere. The groom's family chose to have the rehearsal dinner at the restaurant with such an amazing view and quality service there as well. I can't say enough how thankful we are. Greg, the staff and Ocean's Edge is an ideal choice for a beach wedding and reception. -

Ocean’s Edge is such a beautiful venue! They have 3 rooms to choose from but we went with the Overlook because I could not pass up those views! You have a panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean for miles and miles! You cannot beat that. Greg, the owner, is fantastic to work with! The food was DELICIOUS too! His staff is very friendly and helpful. You will not regret booking this venue! -

What a beautiful destination wedding for my son and his bride! Our initial tour of the reception halls and the private room with outstanding ocean views overlooking the restaurant was a definite YES for our rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception. The stairs approaching the serene beach made this an easy decision for the happy couple's ceremony! As parents of the groom, we were honored to put on such a lovely event for our son and his wife. We all instantly connected to the event coordinator Emily who was responsive, warm and full of suggestions, ideas and options. We also met Shane, who was equally kind and invested. Our event was small and intimate (40 people) and it was nice to have both Emily and Shane attend to our celebration as coordinator, prep staff, bartender and server! We would not hesitate to return to this lovely venue and work with Emily again for our other adult children's Big Days. -

Our Destination Wedding
We had a great experience working with the team at Ocean’s Edge! From having our rehearsal dinner ready, to the day of the wedding, everything was a smooth process.
Emily, our wedding coordinator, was a blessing. She worked to create the day we have dreamed of. Emily made sure that everyone was on the same page for the day of the wedding! As a bride, Emily made me feel confident and comfortable the day of the wedding.
The food is AMAZING at Ocean’s Edge, and our guests loved that they could eat dinner and look at the stunning view. The view from the restaurant is amazing, and highly unique on the island.
We have established life long friendships with the staff at Ocean’s Edge, and are already planning our one year anniversary trip.
We would highly recommend Ocean’s Edge! -

Melissa Sent on 04/28/2016I reached out to Jeahn at Oceans Edge (formally Topsail Shrimp House) February 2016. During our initial phone conversation I just knew that I had found the right ceremony and reception venue for our wedding! Our beach wedding was on October 22, 2016. We used Oceans Edge for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. I seriously can not thank Jeahn enough for all she did to make our wedding amazing. Jeahn was extremely helpful and attentive to all of our questions and needs. On the big day I literally did not have to worry about one thing. Everything was flawless. The food was amazing, the new floors and updated venue was breathtaking, and the coordination by Jeahn was beyond anything I could have ever asked for. Oceans Edge will always have a special place in our hearts. Highly recommended! -

The food, the view and the facilities were beautiful. The event planner was not so friendly. She was rude to our guests, parents of the bride no less.. It was the perfect day of course but she needs to work on her people skills.. -
Maggie Sent on 11/21/2017The venue is BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't have found a better setting both for the beach ceremony and the reception. The food was amazing. My only complaints would be the communication.organization and overbooking. I would send e-mails to Jeahn, the coordinator and not always get a response unless I sent a 2nd email. She asked me to send her a seating chart, I did and labeled how many people and highchairs were needed at each table and she never looked at it. I had to tell those working that they were missing and where they went 20 mins before walking down the aisle. There were 2 other weddings booked for the same day around the same time and Jeahn couldn't keep each party straight, she kept getting confused with the way I wanted things done. As a result she sent the wrong people down the aisle at the wrong time, which messed up the the DJ and the song's he was supposed to play for the parents.

This place is an episode of Bar Rescue that hasn't happened yet. If the owner would return my calls, I would have tried to resolve this another way but since he won’t, I’m here warning others about the deception. This vendor uses deceptive advertising practices.
Here are my memories of the Overlook Room on Sept. 10, 2022. Sticky floors, broken AC in September, hateful staff, not even getting a chance to eat my own wedding cake on my wedding night because the caterers refused to serve us. My handicapped and other family members had food taken away before they could finish eating and then the staff refused to replace it because “mealtime is over”. My dress and several others found our dresses black from floor filth at the end of the day, they have dirty drapes that they refused to let us take down. My son had to go mop the floors in the morning because it was so sticky on the day of the event that people walked out of their shoes as they stuck to the floor, during my reception the coordinator had to pull my contract out and read it so children could be served sprite from the bar package that I paid for. I did not have one single helpful moment from the restaurant catering team, no ice or water refills despite the excessive heat, no servers (as advertised on this site). My guests had to stand at an empty or understaffed bar to even get sweet tea or water refills. We were forced to use plastic cups for our wine toast because "glasses get dropped and people get barefoot" (the irony is they serve glass beer bottles from the bar and use glassware for all other drinks). Minors were served alcohol from the bar. Why were minors standing in the bar? Because tea and water (refill) service was not provided by the servers, as advertised.
In preparing for my event, I was only able to get room measurements from the venue manager, after asking for over a month, when I offered to cashapp $30 for them, I'm still waiting for the promised table diagram layout diagram for the "standard set up". I decided to wing it and not to pay for that.
If you want someone who actually cares about your wedding day, please run because if the Venue Manager decides she doesn't like you or just wants to be a miserable human because she has that unchecked authority; it will cost you time, money, and possibly worse.
So let's talk about what they advertise vs what I found:
1. Handicapped accessible Ocean ceremony: No it isn't ADA Compliant and they don’t care. Note: a ramp to the sand is not ADA Compliant or accessible.
2. Event Planner onsite-No, "she's tired of doing it" but she will make promises, before the contract is signed. After it is signed and you make that deposit, those promises are forgotten.
3. "Experience Tailored to fit your style"- No, you get what they give you. Tables are set up their way and you get some linens (with the meal upgrade package), food, and the ocean-anything else is your problem. Would you like to eat your $10k meal from round tables? No. Would you like your tables set up different than flat against the walls with giant obstructions? No. Would you like your cake displayed on a round table? No.
4. "Our team takes care of the details"-they do not. Their team didn’t even want to serve the bride and groom the meal they prepared and tried to make our coordinator do it. They cut our cake, left it sitting on the table and left after clearing some, not all of the tables, before the event was even over. My Coordinator was left to bus their tables at the end of the night. No one was served and my husband and I didn’t get to eat our own wedding cake! If you mean being rude to my vendors and family then, yes, those details were covered.
5. "Your wedding is as unique as you"-not included in their standard or any upgraded package that is offered. I promise, Amanda does not care what you like or don’t.
6. "Upstairs loft can be used for rehearsal dinners or bridal parties"- It is uncooled, dirty, and used for storage.
7. Sand Table $20-No it's $50 "but if it's windy, they won't put it out and you will not get a refund"
8. Couples may rent items such as chair covers, dance floors, and tables- Yes you can, just not from them and they won't set it up for the Overlook space either. But you can hire private decorators and a minimum of two people to move tables (you aren’t allowed to drag the heavy tables across the sticky floors) for the space because Amanda is, "tired of doing that".
Any items that you see in pictures that aren't table linens are from a private, outside decorator that the couples hire but those vendors aren't given credit in the advertisements or on the venue social media accounts so people are led to believe this is part of their “full service” venue. Decor is not included because Amanda is “tired of doing that”.
Besides sweating all night with the broken AC, a guest favorite was the toilets that didn't flush on either the 1st or 7th floor.
The above details overshadowed the amazing food that was served, although late, pushing my reception timeline back. In summary, I will make sure that my experience (no matter how hurtful it was) is shared anywhere I can.
