Wedding Dress
I got married in my dream wedding dress thanks to Gail at occasions! She worked with me as I tried on countless dresses and she gave me honest feedback as well as advice. I didn’t have an idea of what I specifically wanted so Gail had me try on a variety of silhouettes to find what looked best on my body and made me feel confident and beautiful. After trying on a lot of dresses over the course of a few visits, I ended up choosing one of the first dresses I had tried. I felt like an absolute princess on my big day and am still so in love with my dress! In addition to my wedding gown, my mother and bridesmaids also got their gowns from Occasions. They all looked stunning! Gail worked with my bridesmaids (who weren’t all in the area) and made sure everything was perfect. I can’t recommend Occasions enough! -

Found the perfect dress
The ladies here are beyond sweet. I loved the selection and quality of their stock. Going into david’s bridal after going to occasions was a huge difference. The care I received was unmatched. I was able to find a dress that wasn’t something I had seen on a hundred brides already. Truly a showstopper dress, and I owe it all to these ladies! -

I loved using google Occasions! Being a size 16/18 I have had issues finding dresses in the past. Occasions had a wonderful selection that not only fit but came in almost any style that I could have wanted. While I went in with an idea of what I wanted, I ended up altering that when I found a stunning dress that made me look amazing! They were also very helpful with suggestions to alter the dress to make it even more unique. -

Gail was amazing!! So helpful throughout the entire process. One of the best dress shops I have been to.
The selection of dresses is not overwhelming like other stores which helped me out a lot. There is a dress that fits every style, but not 100000 dresses to make you more confused and stressed. At larger stores like David's Bridal I would just get more confused and did not really have that feeling like they were really trying to help me pick what I really wanted, but rather just wanted to make a sale.
The one thing I liked was how Gail really made you feel at home and was super personable and remembered you every time you came in/called. She is also honest and will tell you what styles may work best with your body type. I hated how some stores told you a dress looked amazing, when in reality it was one of the worst style dresses you try on! The last thing you need it someone lying to you throughout a process that may already be stressful. What I thought would be one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning was actually the most fun and relaxing because of Gail.
I am so happy that I went to Occasions for my wedding dress AND bridesmaid dresses AND mother of the bride dress :) She has styles that worked for everything! I would recommend that every bride at least stop by to see what they have to offer. You will not be disappointed!!! Even if you are from out of state, make the trip :) A friend of mine that is getting married in October made the trip from NYC and ended up getting her bridesmaids dresses there as well. She also raved about how great Occasions is! -

Gail was such a sweetheart!!!!! This was the first dress shop I looked at and within an hour I had my dress. I spent WAY under budget. My dress was one they designed. It was comfortable and I could dance in it (we did a choreographed dance). I got so many compliments and I did not spent a fortune on it. I forgot my shoes once at my dress fitting and she let me borrow a similar shoe for the fitting (tailor is across the street). I highly recommend Occasions. There is something for every budget. My mom even found her mother of the bride dress there!
My mother in law spent more on her dress than I spent on my dress, veil, shoes, alterations and additions to my dress combined. It was insane. I'm SO BEYOND THRILLED. I loved my dress so much and it was very meaningful because I was able to add beads from my mother's wedding dress and put my late cousin's initials in blue in the back inside of my dress. The affordability let me be able to do this. YOU MUST check out Occasions! -

Gail is the reason why I bought my dress there. Her attention to each customer makes the whole difference! I had 6 months to plan my wedding from the day I got engaged to the day of the wedding, and while most bridal stores wouldn't even allow me to look at options Gail helped me get the dress of my dreams which would arrive in time for my wedding! Very pleased with her. -

Gail is absolutely amazing. I went with my mom to browse wedding gowns with no intentions of getting a dress and I ended up falling in love with a dress that day- this dress is my ultimate Pinterest dream come to life! Gail made my experience fun and and easy with her calm and gentle personality. She was very patient with me when I had trouble deciding on a color (who knew there are different shades of white- I sure didn't). Both Gail and Liz (another team member at Occasions) let me come to the decision on my own but were able to offer great tips and advise along the way. I couldn't he happier with my decision to my get my dress at occasions, I feel like I've made a great friend in Gail look forward to continuing to work with Gail and her team throughout the rest of my wedding planning process. -

Occasions Bridal has been amazing to work with for my wedding dress! Gail was SO sweet upon my arrival and made me feel so comfortable. I had a previous experience elsewhere that was not so warm and fuzzy so this was certainly appreciated. While trying on the dresses she had good advice so what would work with my body and made me feel beautiful in all the dresses I tried on. I came back with more family for the 2nd visit and again, Gail was wonderful! I can't wait to continue working with her when my dress comes in! -

There are not enough words to truly describe my experience at Occasions Bridal! Gail, Debbie and the other lady that works there are phenomenal! I was not planning to go to their store but after looking on a Saturday without a scheduled appointment and not being able to receive help at Majesty. I called their boutique and Gail told me to come in at that moment. When I arrived there were many girls trying on dresses for prom. Gail immediately greeted us with the sweetest welcome. Once a room was available I began trying on dresses that I selected. Her boutique was the only store I found that had dresses larger than a 12. While trying on dresses, Gail kept checking on me and right when I decided I was about to leave because nothing I selected really looked good on me, Gail encouraged me to try on some dresses I had not chosen. To make a long story short, I found my dress which made a group of ladies cry who were there shopping for prom dresses for their daughters while I had the dress on. Gail's attention coupled with her expertise and professionalism made choosing my wedding dress a memorable and beautiful experience. I'm going to have some alterations done to my dress and she is working with me every step of the way. For me picking my wedding dress was not all about the "posh" experience it was about someone truly listening to what I wanted, working with someone who really showed they cared about me finding a dress without a guarantee if I was going to purchase a dress from there, they weren't concerned about how much time I was there and just being nice. If you are looking for ladies who truly will take a personal interest in you choosing your dress from start to finish, who are the sweetest and most helpful ladies at a boutique and who believes in giving the highest level of customer service, I highly recommend you go to Occasions! -

As a very self-conscious bride, working with Gail at Occasions was refreshing. She is genuine, caring, and kind. She really worked to make me feel comfortable, and she seemed just as excited about the dress I picked as I was! I found a dress that was much better in quality and more gorgeous than anything at "the D word," and still more affordable. My dress was available for pick-up more quickly than I anticipated also.
She has a wide range of sizes available. -

I found an amazing dress at occasions and truly felt amazing on my wedding day. From the first day I walked in they were courteous and accommodating even when I did not have an appointment. They were able to save the dresses I was interested in to be able to bring back my sister, and I have the worst schedule and they were able to accommodate times that worked for me! They were so helpful suggesting jewelry and veil, and I was able to add a lace jacket to my dress which really completed the look. I am not an emotional person and with Gayle and Occasion's help truly had that bridal moment. They were timely in getting my dress and accessories and even helped my mom (who might be one of the pickiest people I have ever met) find a dress which I honestly thought would take months! I cant thank Gayle and the rest of the staff for an amazing experience! Thank you!

Gail is a family friend so we always knew for my wedding gown we would be taking a trip to occasions. Gail opened her shop up just for us on a sunday- which I know she will do by appointment for regular customers. She really makes you feel like the only bride in the world. She has a great eye for what looks good on a womans body and is open and honest when she feels a girl is going in the wrong direction. Gail also has a seamstress two doors down from her boutique and that is very convenient. I have known Gail for my entire life and I was so happy with my experience at her shop. -

I have known Gail for many years. She and her team are great at finding the right dress for you for the "Occasion". I purchased a dress for my prom from her and recently a dress to wear at my cousin's wedding. When I walked into the shop I didn't really know what I wanted. Gail picked out a dress that she thought would look nice on me. My mom loved it. Honestly I wasn't too over the moon about it myself, but as I walked around at my cousin's reception I truly fell in love with the dress. Over the past four years I have purchased at least four gowns for my high school age daughter.Gail and her staff have always been extremely helpful in assisting us. Giving advice and finding dresses that not only suit my daughter but are perfect for the occasion [ no pun intended] Every time we visit we are amazed at her buying skills and fantastic selection of unique and different beautiful gowns. Occasions Bridal is the reason I was able to find my perfect wedding dress. Upon first appointment, Gail was extremely helpful and filled with love not only for her clients but her job. There is no question she loves what she does as it shines through in every interaction we had with her. Gail took time with me and my family and made each of my trips to Occasions one I looked forward to.
I found my wedding gown at Occasions and truly could not have been happier with how beautiful it was. I truly felt like a princess on our wedding day – blushing with compliments from family and guests at what a beautiful wedding gown I had.
I attribute all of that to Gail and her knowledge, expertise and care. The jewelry we picked out at Occasions beautifully complimented the dress and made the “WOW” factor.

I did not think I would find my dress so quick or so easy. But the staff at Occasions were so warm and friendly. After trying on 3 dresses I found the gown of my dreams and it was even better that it was on sale. I even bought my bridesmaids there to look for and try on dresses, and her staff was extremly helpful and professional. Looking forward to my big day now :) -

Gail is well known around Fairfield County for her dresses and her expertise. From picking out my dress to coordinating the colors for my bridesmaids, Gail had one motto: "Whatever you want, we'll make it happen!" I chose to customize the colors of my girls dresses. It's a bit risky and most vendors would shy away from supporting such a decision. Gail very much enjoyed the challenge and praised my creativity. She is the best at what she does and I would recommend her to any bride. -

Occasions was a nice little shop where i just so happened to have stopped in, with no intentions of purchasing a dress as it was March and my prom was in June. But i completely fell in love with a beautiful yellow dress that they so nicely let me try on and gave me their opinions regarding shoes and jewelry to compliment the dress. Their opinions were greatly appreciated and extremely helpful. The Occasions staff is amazing! -

I love this store! I got a magazine from them, and then I saw a dress I wanted for prom and since it wasn't in stock, they ordered it for me right then and there. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming. -

I found the dress of my dreams at Occasions. The sales people were very helpful, and the price was wonderful. I ordered in February and was told to expect my dress to be in around June. I wound up being pleasantly surprised because it came in way ahead of schedule - in the middle of April! I was a little bit nervous because alterations aren't done on site, but they have a working relationship with a seamstress a couple of doors down. As it turns out I couldn't have been happier. I tried on a wide price range of dresses at fancy boutiques and inexpensive chain stores. I coudn't imagine getting married in anything other than the dress I got at Occasions. -

I looked on line at the selection that Occassions had and then made an appointment to try on bridal gowns. The store is quaint with lots of dresses to pull from. My mother found my dress, even though the sample was much too large for me we clamped it on and it was perfect. I was still on the fence but never felt pressured so left to think about it and came back the next morning and ordered it. It was a perfect dress, for a perfect day and I will always love it for that. -

Occasions Bridal is a fantastic little shop. Gail is a WONDERFUL saleswoman and provided me with the selection and advice that I needed. My dress was a very special find and Gail helped to make this important part of my wedding planning a wonderful experience. So first off, I have used Gail for a few different occasions. The most recent being my wedding. I actually found my dress at another bridal shop but was turned off by their owner. So I called Gail, immediately she knew what dress I was talking about and was willing to have my come in and try it on again in her store. I was so thankful because I would have been heart broken if I had to order from the horrible lady! Gail was willing to help me work through my issues with the dress, she offered feedback on how to incorporate my moms veil with my dress and even handmade my hair piece to exactly what I wanted and needed. Gail understood what I meant in every instance. I am so happy that I used Gail all those years ago and went back. I also used Martha for alterations. Although there were a few things that I was not happy about with alterations Martha quickly helped me and made it right. She also did two other dresses for me before my own! Martha was able to take a piece of my grandfathers shirt and sew it into my dress! It was amazing. Thank you Gail, Martha and team! -

I found and purchased my wedding gown at Occasions after not finding my dress at two other major bridal stores. Although they had a smaller selection of gowns, their personal assistance and attention was well worth the visit. I pulled the dresses I thought I would like, but the winner was actually a dress that I had not even noticed that the assistant had me try on. The value for the gown I purchased was excellent. Be aware that they strictly hold to appointment times as the boutique is small and can not fit that many people (so don't bring a full entourage). There was also a gentleman in the boutique and I had wished he was asked to stay on the opposite side of the store as the try on area is not for those modest. The only slight points I took off the review were due to the fact that I had to call them to see if my dress had come in as opposed to them calling me. Thank you for helping me find the most beautiful dress for my wedding!

my weddin dress and my bridesmaids dresses were unbelievable- i even bought their shoes from her and when they intially came in, they were dyed too light and she returned them until they were perfect! she helped me and encouraged me through all my decisions and has become a true friend to me. Wonderful experience
Gail was absolutely lovely. The first time I went into Occasions, it was absolutely packed, but she still took the time to ask if I wanted to reschedule my appointment (they were closing early) and explaining there was an upcoming trunk show. When I came back, it was full attention on me. I found the dress of my dreams in the trunk show and I fell in love. Gail made sure I was able to get the dress and ordered the size I would need in record time. She even offered me a payment plan since I'm paying for the gown myself - not only did she work with me to make sure I was able to afford my dream dress, she was upfront about whether or not things looked good on me (it was just me and my mom) and made sure to pull styles outside of my comfort zone when I asked. The selection was small (the store is tiny!) BUT the trunk show was lovely.
Overall, can't recommend Occasions enough. I went shopping at David's Bridal the week before and it was a miserable experience, but Occasions turned that all around. -

Had a great experience with Occasions. I ended up purchasing one of their in house branded dresses and could not have been happier. Gail was so sweet and honest- if it didnt look great she didnt say it did! The dress was unique verses the other bridal shops I went to and the dress was perfect for me!
I also had a great experience with Martha (*the seamstress) in making a few adjustments to the dress and getting the fit just right. -

This was the first place I tried on dresses and it turned out to be the only place I needed. Gail was very sweet, helpful, and attentive. When I arrived I was asked to choose from a handful of envelopes and inside were coupons for a certain amount off any dress, which was really a great bonus. Although it was a small shop there were plenty of dresses to choose from. Someone looking for a huge selection might be disappointed but I think it's possible for them to order anything. After finding my perfect dress, we went ahead and ordered it. Perahaps we were too excited about finding the dress but we did not look at the invoice closely enough. The dress was mistakenly ordered in the wrong color (ivory) and we did not find this out until it arrived months later. Gail was very helpful in ordering the dress in the right color and rushing the order for it to arrive in time. Overall I was very happy with the service and the dress! -

The ladies at Occasions are so great! My mom, my maid of honor and I went shopping for my dress and we found it on our first try! I wasn't expecting to walk out that day with my wedding gown, but it was perfect! For a smaller, local shop, they have a great selection of dresses for the bride, MOB and bridesmaids, as well as accessories. They also have a seamstress that is right next door to make the alterations simple and easy! We had a great experience and I would recommend looking here first for your gown! -

I had a very positive expierence finding my beautiful dream wedding dress at this store. That all turned into a total disaster when I brought my dress to thier reccomended seamstress across the way...I paid over 200$ for alterations only to have my dress returned to me with not only a huge water stain on the train, but a tear in the bodice of the dress. A true nightmare for a bride less than two weeks before her wedding day. I was never offered any of the money back, and the stain was never completely removed, although no one noticed it on my wedding I knew it was there, and the tear in the bodice is a true disappointment in my pictures. -

I came to this store looking for a veil. In the beginning of the visit, Gail was extremely helpful and attentive. She was giving me many options and ideas for what she thought would work well. Well....this was for the first 10 minutes, until another bride came in, one that she obviously knew more and wanted to work with more. Maybe because this bride was looking for a dress, and Gail wanted that sale more than mine. I immediately was left fending for myself. When I went to take a picture to show my sister, she said photos are not allowed. Funny since 5 minutes later the "chosen Bride" was able to take a picture of herself in her dress.
Overall, I would not recommend this vendor to anyone. They have nice styles, but the help was less than to be adored. Especially when you are ready to spend over 200 on a veil. If you do go though, hopefully you will be a "favorite" so you actually get the attention you deserve.

Do not come here
Future brides, take note: do not come here.
Today, I visited this bridal shop with my fiancé's mother and my own, and I left feeling deeply disappointed. Since it was my first time trying on dresses, I approached the experience with excitement but quickly encountered frustration. Despite claiming to be a "size-inclusive establishment," I was shown only about 50 dresses—far fewer than advertised—and received little guidance from the staff. Gail promptly presented three similar dresses, and when I asked to try on additional options, she appeared annoyed and discouraged me from doing so.
Throughout the visit, Gail frequently failed to pay proper attention to my questions, often ignoring or missing them entirely. This led to several moments where I had to exit the dressing room only to find the dress completely open in the back or held together by makeshift binder clips.
In summary, I strongly advise future brides to think twice before visiting this store. My experience was disappointing from start to finish, marred by unprofessionalism and poor customer service. There are many other bridal shops that will treat you with the respect and care you deserve. Save yourself the frustration—consider exploring other options for your wedding dress shopping.

I absolutely hate leaving a bad review but the only good experience I had at Occasions was actually picking out my dress. For a small boutique they had a nice selection (enough but not too much to overwhelm) and the staff was friendly, helpful, and patient while I made my decision.
Everything went downhill after that. I picked out my dress in late February for my September wedding, and they said they would need to rush order my dress to get it in time (fine). I was planning my wedding long-distance and would need to fly back for my fitting, so I set up an appointment with them in May and called them twice on the phone to confirm the appointment date/time AND to confirm that the dress would indeed be there due to the rush order (the second phone call was a week prior and I was assured the dress was already there).
When I arrived for the fitting, the dress had NOT arrived and they were incredibly unapologetic and unhelpful about it. They looked at their files again and noticed they wrote down the wrong month for the dress to arrive, which they'd failed to notice both times I'd called to confirm its arrival for my appointment. Despite their error in the shipping date AND telling me they had received the dress when they hadn't, they were barely apologetic to me and their way of remedying the situation was to tell me that they would accommodate a last-minute appointment as soon as the dress arrived. When I reminded them that I had flown up for the fitting and would not be able to come in again, they again barely offered any remorse and no reduction in price. When the dress finally came in my mother had to pick it up for me and I had it fitted and tailored elsewhere.
I understand that mistakes happen, but it was their unapologetic attitude in recognizing or attempting to alleviate their mistake that absolutely astounded me. I expected to be treated with more respect and I would not recommend them to anyone. -

Buyer Beware!!! Gail the owner sold me a used dress as new. When brought to my seamstress she showed me where it was expanded, etc. Upon return she acted like she did not know how that happened, but acknowledged there were alterations. How that happened??!! You sold a used dress as new CLEARLY!!! Such an exciting time turned into a nightmare. Buyer beware!! Do you due diligence, don't trust her!! She is looking to make money any way she can!! -

Stay away if you actually expect to have an experience when buying your wedding dress. The woman Gail, couldn't care less about me and my dress buying experience. I made an appointment, was on time and incredibly polite. She threw dresses over my head, didn't zip them or smooth them out when they were on (so most of the material was bunched in my crotch) and had personal visitors during my appointment. Would not let us take any pictures in the dress for references and didn't even know that we walked out, because she was so consumed with her personal visitor. Not a good way to treat potential customers. The worst part is I really liked the dress, but went elsewhere to purchase. -

I visited Occasions in Bethel to search for my wedding dress and it was an awful experience from start to finish. Prior to the appointment, I spoke with Gail and gave her a list of dresses I was interested in trying on so that they could be pulled in advance. She assured me that she'd look for the dresses and pull whatever she had in advance. When I arrived, not only did I have to wait 15 minutes for someone to even say "Hello" but I found out that none of the dresses had been pulled and the list hadn't even been looked at. There were four brides crammed into the tiny store and only three employees to take care of them all. I understand a Saturday being a busy day but why take appointments if you're only going to overbook your staff? It was impossible to move around the store, there was nowhere to sit, and the dress selection was extremely limited. The first dress I tried on was not at all the style I was looking for and was poorly made and when I expressed that to the consultant, she proceeded to bring me a second dress that was almost identical. She wasn't listening at all to what I was looking for and kept trying to push the dresses that were deeply discounted. At one point, I was left alone in the dressing room for a full fifteen minutes with no dresses and standing in my underwear! When Gail finally found a moment to help me, I was informed that the store didn't have any of the dresses that I had previously requested to try on. If I had known that from the start, I wouldn't have wasted my time! In an hour and a half in the store, I tried on exactly three dresses. Occasions was completely unprofessional and I left the store very upset. The only bright side was that the experience was so miserable that it lead me to searching for a different bridal shop to go to the next day and that shop turned out to be absolutely wonderful (3 Graces Bridal, Lebanon, NJ). Don't waste your time with Occasions in Bethel. Would not recommend to anyone. -
