I couldn’t have asked for a better officiant team! Rebecca and Emily were absolutely amazing—responsive, organized, and brought the laid-back vibe that every couple needs on their wedding day. We chose a non-religious ceremony and asked them to write our love story instead. They created the story from a survey we filled out, along with input from our closest friends and family. The result? Pure magic. The story had me in tears—it was beautifully written and far beyond anything I could have imagined.
Emily officiated on the day, and she was incredible. She has this calming presence that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years. It truly felt like having a close friend there to support and celebrate us, while also making everything official!
I also really appreciated their laid-back yet responsive style and how patient they were with us when we took forever to get them what they needed. They never made us feel rushed or stressed, which was such a gift during wedding planning.
I cannot recommend Oak City Ceremonies enough—they exceeded every expectation and made our day unforgettable. -

So happy we came across Oak City Ceremonies while searching for an officiant for our wedding! From our very first conversation with Rebecca, we felt confident she was exactly who we were looking for. Rebecca is extremely knowledgeable, professional, dependable, kind, and genuine, and she brought a sense of calm throughout the whole process and on our wedding day. She customized everything to our liking and gave us many different options to choose from to make our ceremony feel like us.
I love that she sent over questions for us to answer in private, then wrote our love story based on what we said to share as a surprise. She also had our closest friends and family write about us and shared their words during our ceremony — it was so special! So many of our guests commented on how much they loved hearing our story and how wonderful Rebecca was.
After the wedding, Rebecca was quick to do all of the necessary paperwork and send over the love story and script she wrote for us to keep. We’re so excited to print it out and hang it up in our home (along with the keepsake marriage license she printed for us)! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ceremony or a better officiant. Thank you so much, Rebecca!

Rebecca and Emily were wonderful to work with throughout our planning process and created a beautiful ceremony for us! It was important to us to have a bilingual ceremony that felt personalized for us, and they did exactly that. They presented us with plenty of ceremony options without ever pressuring us to do things a certain way, and they always responded quickly and listened to our ideas. They surveyed us and some friends and family to get to know us, and they used the answers to write our love story to tell during the ceremony. We loved revisiting our relationship development with all of our friends and family there. We definitely recommend Oak City Ceremonies! -

She made it personal and funny and really just so so special. When you really get down to it, the most important part of your wedding day is your ceremony; it’s why you’re there. It was really important to us that the ceremony not just be an obligatory half hour on the way to the party, but a feature part of our wedding day. Rebecca of Oak City Ceremonies made it so.
We met virtually with Rebecca for an initial consultation and immediately knew the vibe was right. We booked her and when our wedding day got closer, we met with her in person for a coffee and chat about what we wanted for our ceremony. She sent up follow up materials, including potential readings for our friends, sample vows, and videos of how we could do our handfasting ceremony. She also sent us a survey (for me and my now husband to complete), which asked about our first date, first impressions, what we love about each other now, etc.
From all the information she gathered, Rebecca wrote us the most beautiful and authentic-to-us ceremony. One guest commented afterward that the way that Rebecca wove in our Love Story made her and our other guests feel like they were part of that story. Many other guests remarked upon how beautiful our ceremony was. Rebecca’s words really brought everyone together in this common understanding of why we were all gathered here today: the work and love that had been put into our relationship, now culminating in this moment where we joined in matrimony.
We couldn’t recommend Rebecca and Oak City Ceremonies more highly! Rebecca was responsive, worked with us with various ceremony/vow changes, and just a genuinely kind and friendly person. We’re so grateful that we found her to write our Love Story and share it so powerfully with all of our family and friends!

We had the absolute pleasure of having Rebecca as our officiant for our wedding on January 20th, 2024. She blew our expectations out of the water. We were able to make our ceremony be exactly what we wanted. All of our guests RAVED about our ceremony and how it was different than most weddings. Rebecca told our story by having us fill out a survey but also our friends and family so that she could write a version of our story from our perspective but also the perspective of those close to us. We were able to incorporate anything we wanted as well. It was a truly magical ceremony and we are forever grateful to have had Rebecca officiate our wedding! You could not choose a better officiant. -

Rebecca and Emily put together the most wonderful ceremony we could ask for. They were so thorough leading up to our special day, meeting with us over coffee, asking all of the right questions, and making us feel so heard throughout the process. They are fantastic listeners, kind people, and masters of their craft. With the level of care they put into our ceremony, we didn't even need a coordinator. Reading the final draft brought tears to my wife and my eyes. It was beautiful. Thank you both so much, for everything. 100/10 would recommend these wonderful women to anyone. -

Rebecca and Emily were incredible to work with! From the very beginning we felt instantly comfortable with them and felt that they understood the vision for our wedding. They spend the time to get to know the couple and craft a truly unique and beautiful love story that is shared with our wedding guests.
We had multiple guests come up to us and tell us that our ceremony was beautiful and one of the best wedding ceremonies they had ever attended. One of my husband's cousins even told us that she's only cried 7 times in her life and our wedding was the 7th because the story was so beautiful. If you are getting married in the Triangle area, you HAVE to book Oak City Ceremonies!! -

Rebecca and Oak City Ceremonies were absolutely wonderful to work with! When we first started looking for an officiant, we were concerned we may not be able to have the ceremony we had always pictured. Rebecca from Oak City Ceremonies made our wedding day SO special!
My husband and I knew that we didn’t want a cookie cutter ceremony- so we absolutely loved working with Rebecca and learning about how Oak City Ceremonies totally customizes and writes a 100% original script for each ceremony.
Rebecca took the time to get to know us personally- and sent us and our closest friends and family questionnaires to get to know us better. She used these questionnaires to write a beautiful synopsis of our love story to share during our ceremony.
At our reception- almost everyone that we spoke with remarked on how much they loved hearing our love story and how our ceremony was so special and different from any other wedding they have attended (in a good way!).
She was so flexible and inclusive and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process.
We also greatly appreciated that she made herself available the day before our ceremony to attend our rehearsal with the bridal party. All of my bridesmaids told me that Rebecca had such a sweet and calming presence that put them all at ease.
Beyond that- both before and after our wedding day- Rebecca sent us helpful check-in emails (like reminding us to pick up our marriage license!) and also sending helpful information about the name change process and etc.
We are so grateful that Rebecca was available for our wedding day, and we honestly can’t imagine the day without her. We can’t wait to get our wedding footage back so we can rewatch our special ceremony!
I would (and I will!) without question recommend Rebecca and Oak City Ceremonies to anyone looking for an officiant for their wedding day.

Sweet, tailored ceremony!
Oak City Ceremonies was THE BEST! They really took the time to get to know us and our love story and made that the theme of the ceremony. It was the sweetest ceremony and was my favorite part of my wedding (usually I’m just waiting for those to move along so we can party, lol). Emily was actively excited about our wedding and marriage and it made us feel so happy to have such an engaged and dedicated person officiating our wedding. They were organized, helpful, and a calm presence throughout all of the planning and the big day and I cannot thank Emily enough for all she did! Highly, highly recommend! -

Rebecca is amazing, we could not have asked for a better officiant on our wedding day. Rebecca told our story beautifully, making our ceremony filled with warmth, laughter and happy-tears! She is professional and organized, and communicated with us promptly throughout the entire planning process. We had such a nice time getting to know Rebecca at our in-person planning meeting, she was so thoughtful in her "interview" of us, and asked so many questions that we never would have thought of to capture every detail needed to make our day special and perfect. She also reached out to family and friends throughout the planning process to obtain different perspectives and fun stories to help tell our story. She even provided us with helpful information concerning obtaining a marriage license, name change tips/information, and vow ideas. Rebecca is the absolute, hands down best officiant anyone could possibly be lucky enough to have. When our original wedding officiant backed out on us 5 weeks before our big day, we (needless to say) were in massive panic mode. Our ceremony was incredibly important to us. We wanted it to be fun, intimate and personal. Finding an officiant that’s capable of crafting a heart-warming story, with a twist of humor and wrapping it all together to make it the most memorable day of your life, all within a month is impossible. Well, we found out that the impossible was made possible when we found Rebecca and asked her to be our officiant. Rebecca bent over backwards to fit us into her schedule. She went above and beyond to make our wedding special and a day we’d cherish forever. With her kind personality, witty humor and in-depth research into our family, friends and us as a couple, she was able to tell the story of our relationship and love without being stoic, creepy or boring (much like other officiants) and despite the fact that she had another ceremony less than 15 minutes after ours. Words can’t express how grateful we are for you to make our big day as special as it was. Thank you so much Rebecca!! -

Everything came together so beautifully — IT WAS PERFECT - you two really make an amazing team!
Thank you both for being a major piece of the most magical day of our lives. We are so lucky and honored to have had Oak City Ceremonies prepare and officiate our wedding ceremony. My daughter had a small official wedding prior to her larger wedding. Her, the groom, four parents, and one photographer. Rebecca performed the ceremony beautifully, at a beautiful location (her parents' apartment overlooking a lake), at a very reasonable price, and was easy and wonderful to work with from start to finish. She made a small legal moment into a beautiful and memorable occasion, and she even hand-made a beautiful certificate. I recommend her highly. -

Highly recommend the talented writing and storytelling of Rebecca Wiglama! We worked with Rebecca to create a custom ceremony for our August wedding. We met with her a couple of times and she answered all of our questions so we felt comfortable with the process. She had great suggestions for different elements to bring into the ceremony and was receptive to the ideas that we had, and creatively helped us figure out how to include all the elements we wanted to be in there without making it all feel too long. After the ceremony, all of our guests kept coming up to us to tell us how much they loved the ceremony, which is usually the part that people are ready to be done with! Rebecca made it funny, sweet, and unique to us -- and we loved that she kept the story of how we met a surprise to us until the wedding day! Truly can't recommend her and her company enough. Super thorough, very professional, and very affordable for any budget! -

I recently worked with Rebecca & Emily at Oak City Ceremonies and the entire process from start to finish was amazing. Rebecca handled all pre-wedding logistics and Emily was the officiant on the wedding day. Both were very responsive and professional. Many of the guests at the wedding said it was one of the best ceremonies they had been to and had the perfect balance of humor, sentiment, and personal touches. BONUS - Emily is bilingual and can speak fluent Spanish. As a Wedding Planner, I will definitely be working with them again in the future! -

Amazing officiant
Rebecca was amazing!!! She met with us prior to our wedding day and got to know us a bit. She sent us each a survey to get to know about our love story and even sent a survey to some of our friends/family (we provided email addresses). She customized our service with OUR love story! We had multiple people tell us it was one of the most personal ceremonies they’ve been to and they wanted to hear more of the story. I highly, highly recommend her!!! -

Our ceremony was my favorite part of our wedding day, and this was in large part due to the effort Rebecca Wiglama put into it. We met several times before the wedding to better get to know each other and help her understand what made us unique as a couple. She also helped guide us through various styles of a ceremony until we found one that fit our personalities and felt inclusive of everyone attending (we had an intimate wedding with a variety of backgrounds). She met with us multiple times at our convenience before the ceremony and definitely took the stress of planning our ceremony off of our shoulders. I wish I could give a million stars. Rebecca was everything we could have asked for from an officiant and more. I knew she would be the one to marry my partner and I from the first email! She asked all the right questions to make sure this was OUR wedding ceremony, not some standard cookie cutter “do you, yeah, do you?” situation. My (now) husband I are huge nerds and Rebecca incorporated so many things that made the whole ceremony so uniquely us, I’m glad I had waterproof makeup! Most importantly, she answered every single question I had no matter how small and really talked me down off a ledge when I thought we wouldn’t be able to get our wedding license in time! 15/10 would recommend Rebecca for anything from an elopement to a my big fat Greek wedding sized ceremony!
