Dream Boho Modern Cake
Wow, what can we say about Nutmeg except that our cake absolutely knocked it out of the park. If you want an incredible tasting cake with a unique and modern design, look no further. We loved Nutmeg’s style from the beginning, and knew it completely matched with our vision of our wedding cake. They worked with us to create a proposal that was exactly what we asked for and more. The design they came up with was so stunning, unique, and just completely us. And not to mention, their tasting process is so fun! We had such a hard time narrowing down the flavors because they were all so good. What we landed on was truly amazing and we got so many compliments on our cake at our wedding. From the design of it, to the taste, we heard it was the best wedding cake people have ever had—and we completely agree. We absolutely LOVED our cake and it was everything we dreamed of. We can’t recommend Nutmeg enough! -

We loved our wedding cake from Nutmeg and Meg & team were great to work with! We got married in Philadelphia but live in Miami, and it was nice that we were able to pick up a tasting box when we were in town, fly home with it, and do our tasting in Miami. Communication, delivery, etc. was all great! -

We were very happy with our experience working with Nutmeg Cake Design. The process started with a take-home tasting kit, which allowed us to try multiple combinations of cakes, fillings, and frostings - each more delicious than the last - and to get input from a couple of our closest family and friends. (We loved Nutmeg’s cakes so much that we ended up getting a separate cake for another special event!) For our wedding cake, we really appreciated our individualized consultation with Meg to explore our options for flavors and design, including coordinating with our florist to add fresh flowers for decor. We were so grateful to receive a cake that was beautiful, delicious, and meaningful, and for seamless delivery and setup by the Nutmeg team. We would highly recommend Nutmeg for any special occasion! -

Meg is PHENOMENAL! Her sugar flowers are so realistic that everyone thought they were real. We had a grooms cake, a wedding cake, and a sheet cake in the back with three different flavors. The flavors were spice cake with apple compote and vanilla buttercream, pistachio cake with vanilla buttercream, and orange olive oil cake with Nutella buttercream. All were amazing! Some of our guest were fighting over sharing different flavors or eating the last bite. I cannot recommend Nutmeg enough. She also did my bridal shower cake (lemon cake, lemon curd filling, vanilla buttercream). We ordered twice as many slices as guests and there was not a single piece left at the end of the event because so many people ate seconds or took a piece home with them! The restaurant staff also said it was the best looking, most consistent crumb they’ve ever seen. *I will add professional pictures when I receive them -

Contracting Nutmeg Cake Design, was hands down one of the easiest and best decisions I made for my wedding this past July. Initially meeting Meg and having our first consultation with her was such a special experience. She took the time to get to know us as a couple, to understand our likes / dislikes, vision, define what cake flavor combinations best represented us and ensure alignment with the overall design aesthetic of the wedding + venue throughout the entire process. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the cake tasting process was equally as magical. Nutmeg has mastered their cake tasting presentation and Meg sends her couples home with a package of individually curated vignettes of their most delicious cake / buttercream creations along with the latest issue of Philadelphia Wedding Magazine. Let me tell you that this was some of the most fun my husband and I had throughout our entire wedding planning process! It was packaged so well that we were able to taste test at home and then rewrap our tastings, cross state lines and include our parents in the cake tasting fun as well! We worked with Meg through multiple wedding postponements due to the covid pandemic and she handled each amendment with poise and utmost professionalism. We also worked with Meg to create a custom stencil for our wedding cake design and through each step of the process Meg ensured that all of our questions, concerns and minds were at ease. On the day of our wedding, some of the best compliments we received were in regards to how scrumptious our wedding cake flavors were! Both my husband and I cannot wait to rip through our 1-year anniversary cake which is patiently waiting to be devoured in our freezer! Final point: throughout it all, Meg delivered - simply put. (As you can see through the wedding day photos)! If you are contemplating wedding cake designers - stop it. Make the decision to contract Nutmeg Cake Designs. Your family, friends and even wedding photographer will thank you. But most importantly YOU and your partner will walk away so happy you’ve made the right decision! -

I wish I could give Meg 10/10 stars. I really do! I knew from the moment I got engaged that I wanted to use Nutmeg for our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions that we in our vendor hiring process. We walked away from the tasting basically rolling out of the door because each of the flavors was so good, everyone overate. It was quite a tough decision narrowing down our final flavors, you really cannot go wrong with any!
I worked with Nutmeg to create my bridal shower cake and also my wedding cake and I could not have been happier not only with how everything tasted but the designs of both of the cakes. Meg is truly an artist, a cake visionary. I remember saying to her that I wanted our wedding cake to look like art, not a traditional cake. Meg worked with me to create something unique, bold, and impactful. She absolutely nailed it. I seriously did not want to cut into the cake it was that beautiful. Not to mention, every.single.slice was eaten that night!! Our guests could not stop raving about how incredibly beautiful and delicious the cake was.
I cannot speak highly enough of Meg's talent, professionalism, artistic ability, and out-of-this-world baking skills. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind cake that is almost too pretty to eat, but the second you take a bite you can't stop eating it, yea, Nutmeg is where you want to be! -

Incredible!!!
Meg and her team are truly amazing. We booked Meg back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding that got postponed to 2021. Meg was extremely flexible and accommodating with us moving our date and made the entire process a breeze. A few months out from our wedding, we decided to change the look of our cake and opt for a more fun palette and even though Meg had already drawn up the original design, she was more than happy to change to our new look. She is so helpful in explaining all of the different options and combinations and is great with offering her professional opinion when you're not sure which to chose! Our cake came out absolutely beautiful - better than anything I ever could have imagined. Our guests loved it and we cannot wait to eat our anniversary tier. Very high chance it doesn't make it a full year ;). I cannot recommend Meg and her team enough. We were so lucky to work with her!!!! -

We found Meg and Nutmeg Cake Designs at a wedding event held at the Horticulture Center in February 2020. Despite all of the craziness an uncertainty that followed, Meg remained responsive and optimistic. She coordinated a remote tasting event- with over 10 delicious flavor combos. She was able to accommodate our wedding date change, and made the entire process as pain free as possible. We weren't exactly sure what we wanted, so we gave her creative license with some basic parameters for our two (smaller) cakes. She never tried to pressure us into doing anything more/different and we could not be more pleased with how they both turned out. At least three people told us that it was the "best carrot cake that they had ever had". -

I have a huge sweet tooth and really wanted the cake to be great. So, I gathered some friends and ordered the tasting (on one of Nutmegs tasting days) from four different cake vendors to do a side-by-side comparison.
The Nutmeg pistachio and early gray cake was a clear winner. So by taste alone, Nutmeg won. Some time before the wedding, Meg reached out to confirm our order and to discuss the design of the cake. I sent her a few photos of cakes from her Instagram page I liked, and she sent me a sketch of the the cake as part of the proposal. Even from the sketch, the cake was GORGEOUS. The execution, when I saw the cake the day of, was also perfection. It was one of my favorite parts of the day! The whole process was so seamless, I could not recommend Meg and her team enough! -

Nutmeg Cake Design was extremely pleasurable to work with! We used them for our wedding, and I will absolutely be using them in the future for future events. Not only was it extremely well coordinated, the design was impeccable! It was so easy to communicate with them to get what we wanted. She makes it so easy.
The cake on the wedding day was absolutely phenomenal. The appearance was beautiful, and the taste was out of this world. All of our guests thought it was beautiful, and thought it tasted great as well!
Even the tasting was so well done (in the height of covid, we got a to-go box that was extremely well presented and well laid out). It couldn't have been better!!! -

The best ever!
I cannot recommend Nutmeg enough!!!! We ended up booking Nutmeg less than 2 months from our new wedding date. Meg was so attentive and responsive to my ideas (& indecisiveness!!) She created my DREAM wedding cake. I still cannot believe how beautiful a cake could be!! We decided to go with chocolate chip & vanilla buttercream. It was the BEST cake I’ve ever had! Everyone raved about how delicious (& beautiful) it was!! Thank you so much Meg! I am so grateful for you! -

Meg from Nutmeg is an artist and a professional baker, and I'm not sure which comes first, because she's so talented in both arenas. We hired Meg to design our wedding cake during COVID, and she worked very diligently to be sure we still had an awesome experience (even providing a "pick up" cake tasting in which she created a box of individually wrapped cake slices with her most popular flavor combinations and we scheduled a time to pick up the box using a "no contact" protocol.) She's a total professional, responds very quickly to questions and other communications and created our dream cake with very little guidance. She is top of her industry, so if cake is important to you, hire Nutmeg without another thought!

We had an amazing experience with Meg and Nutmeg cake design! Meg's cake tasting box was the best way to sample wedding cake. We placed an order online and scheduled a date and time to pick it up. The to-go tasting box was perfect because we were able to relax at home and take our time trying and appreciating each of Nutmeg's special flavors. The Orange Olive Oil Cake & Honey Buttercream was our favorite and Meg was willing to work with us to make a small 8" cake when our original wedding plans changed due to Covid-19. We also ordered 2 dozen mini lemon cupcakes with raspberry buttercream and they were delicious - the perfect summer flavors! We cannot wait for our vow renewal in 2021 and to share this special cake with all of our loved ones. -

Best cake ever!
We feel in love with Meg at our tasting, before even trying the cakes. My husband had just suffered a tremendous loss in his family right before our tasting. I wanted to reschedule, but he insisted we go as a means of distraction. From the moment we walked into the shop, Meg's energy was so positive you couldn't help but feel it as well. She made us feel so special the entire time we were there. After tasting her cakes is when we truly knew we had found the right person for the job! It was so hard to choose because everything was delicious. But, what we will never forget is how much fun we had despite the challenges occurring in our personal lives.
When we had to pivot the plan due to the pandemic, Meg was extremely understanding and accommodating! We couldn't have been more pleased with our wedding cake. We went with the vanilla chocolate chunk cake with cookie dough filling and honey buttercream. Our families couldn't stop raving about. Looking forward to our anniversary cake next year! -

Meg kills it every time !
Talk about a vendor that delivers... Meg killed it. Taste-testing cakes we, obviously, the most fun part of planning our wedding, especially since everything she creates is delicious. Although there were a ton of flavors we loved (get the olive oil !!!!) we ultimately decided on THREE cakes (no easy feat) with a variety of flavor pairings: sepculoos cake + speculoos buttercream, carrot cake + caramel icing, and champagne cake + raspberry buttercream & cinnamon buttercream. Her champagne cake is the most delicious twist on white cake and I recommend it to everyone ordering a cake for a large crowd plus, you can use pretty much any buttecream on it and it will taste amazing. Meg nailed our design ideas and we are thrilled with how they turned out! -

So, so happy we went with Meg + Nutmeg Cake Design. The entire process, from tasting to design to the final cake, was everything we wanted.
The flavors that Nutmeg carries are so unique and absolutely delicious. We went with an earl grey cake and it was just phenomenal. We also had a groom's cake that was banana cake with cinnamon buttercream, a flavor combination that Meg had recommended, and it was spectacular.
Our cake tasted fantastic and it looked incredible. Meg created the most gorgeous design for us based on my super vague and varied taste in cakes. She came up with three gorgeous and unique designs for us to choose from and the one we went with us even more beautiful in person. Communicating with Meg throughout the process was so easy.
She also worked with our venue to make sure the groom's cake stayed a surprise and had an anniversary tier for us that was already packaged and ready to go. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day.
We can't recommend Meg and Nutmeg enough! -

The sweetest!
First off, Meg is seriously one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was always so cheerful and hiring her to make our wedding cake was one of the best (and easiest) decisions I made!
The cake tasting process was fabulous. She provided slices of the actual two-layer cakes for about twelve different flavors. I loved this idea since it gives you an example of what you would expect in a larger cake with cake-filling-icing ratios. We only ate half of each piece and were able to take home the rest which was lovely since 1) that much cake is very filling and 2) we could sleep on it and try them again the next day.
That said, Meg's carrot cake is INCREDIBLE. It is by far the best carrot cake I have ever had and we got MANY compliments on it. One person even said that it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. We ordered a 104-person sized cake for 93 guests which was a good idea since multiple people had two slices and there was none left at the end of the night.
We didn't have a solid idea on what kind of design we wanted and Meg stepped right up and helped us. I went back on forth on having a wedding topper and she totally went with the flow and was low-stress. I HIGHLY recommend Nutmeg Cake Design, she's worth every penny and more! I can't wait to order another cake from her! -

Working with Meg was an amazing experience and her work is absolutely stunning.
We had Nutmeg make not only our perfect wedding cake, but also cookies for my Bridal shower, cupcakes for my Bridesmaids proposals, our 1 yr anniversary cake and also my moms 60th Birthday cake. Clearly we love her work and everything is just delicious!

We ordered our wedding cake from Nutmeg for our August 2019 wedding. Through the process, Meg was very responsive and organized. Meg was helpful in walking us through cake flavor options, cake decor, and the delivery process. She was very accommodating when we ordered additional cake samples and we not only got more than we almost knew what to do with, she explained how to store them so we could share them with family and friends, which helped in the (tough) decision-making process.
We ordered a three-tiered cake and there were not a lot of leftovers. My great aunt, who lives all of 15 minutes away from the Nutmeg and doesn't eat a lot of sweets, wanted samples of each flavor to go. -

We hired Meg to design our cake display for a garden wedding. We wanted a giant cupcake display with 150 cupcakes (each with a different floral design) and a six inch cake for cutting. Not only did Meg deliver and follow the exact color scheme of my wedding, but the cupcakes were just absolutely delicious. Our guests keep asking who we used and were taking extras home. We will definitely order from Nutmeg again! -

The cake was delicious - even non-cake eaters couldn't get enough! And the cookies were so adorable and yummy! Everyone sent pictures of themselves enjoying the cookies later that day!
Beyond being an extremely talented baker, Meg is an artist - making each cake / cookie design a work of art! Meg is extremely talented and easy to work with! -

Her baked goods are the tastiest, most delicious things ever and I'm almost embarrassed by how many I put away at once.
After attending a few events with Meg's sweets, I asked Meg to make 100 cookies and macarons for Valentine's Day. I ordered them way later than I should have (like I ordered the week before V Day), but she sweetly accommodated me and even ordered a custom cookie cutter to go with my theme.
Meg is pretty much the cutest and honestly her baked goods will change your life. -

Sweets to Celebrate
We signed up for a tasting to celebrate our Nov 2020 engagement and wound up falling in love with Nutmeg Cake Design’s flavors. Her consultation with us made everything so easy. We loved that we could mix and match the cake and icing options and design elements to create something that felt true to us in desert form. We ordered an earl grey cake with honey butter cream for our cutting cake along with mini cupcakes in chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream and champagne cake with passion fruit butter cream.
In a planning year that had a lot of twists and turns (guest count, covid considerations, design changes etc), Meg was a team player and easy to work with. Looking forward to ordering from Meg and her team to celebrate our first anniversary (Sep 2022).

Absolutely delicious!
Just celebrated my wedding with the most AMAZING champagne cake with passion fruit icing! In fact, multiple guests complimented us on how tasty it was. Not only was Meg incredibly easy to work with and professional, but the end product was the exact sleek and simple look I was going for and matched the venue perfectly.
