Couldn't be happier
We used NSE as the day of coordination and florist for our wedding, and it was an incredible decision! Our coordinator, Kali, and her team were so helpful and on top of every detail. From our initial call, we knew immediately that we could trust Kali (and NSE) to take over on the big day so that we could relax and enjoy every second. We received many compliments from our wedding party and guests on the professionalism of the NSE team. As a florist, NSE made our vision a reality, and it couldn't have been more beautiful. We were thrilled with the outcome and again received so many compliments. NSE was a critical part of our day and we would work with them again in a heartbeat! -

Best coordinating, flower, baloon, & decorating company ever!
I am so happy that Ellen with Northland Special Events was a part of my wedding day. We utilized their planning, decorating, balloon, and floral services which made our lives so much easier the day of the event. Ellen was a pleasure to work with and took care of all of our needs throughout the entire process. Both my wife and I were blown away with just how beautiful everything turned out, and also how much better our day went because of NSE. We highly recommend anyone to contact NSE if you are putting together an event you want brought to the next level. -

Wonderful Experience!
I cannot say enough amazing things about Northland Special Events and our event coordinator Kyla! We planned our wedding from out of state, and Kyla was amazing at helping us plan things over the phone, email, and a few meetings in person (when we could make it to the area) to help us bring our vision to life. The flowers, table centerpieces, and signage that was provided by NSE was exactly what we were hoping they would be, and I received many complements about my bridal bouquet. Kyla was amazing to have around on the day of our wedding and checked up on everyone frequently to make sure we were doing ok and did not need anything. She really helped take away a lot of my stress and helped everything go so smoothly before and during the ceremony, as well as during the reception! -

When people ask me how my wedding was, one of the first things I say is that it was great, and it was great because we hired a fantastic day-of-coordination service. Seriously, we could not have done it without them. When we first got engaged, I wasn't sure we really needed a day-of-coordinator, but hiring one is now my #1 tip I give other brides.
From start to finish, I felt like Mariah just "got" us. I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted on a lot of details, but even without articulating it, Mariah and her staff were able to deliver something better than I imagined. Every detail was surprisingly beautiful.
She took away so much of my stress during those busy last couple of weeks. Everything I had anxiety about, she was able to quickly resolve with a easy, "no problem" attitude. She answered every question we had and gave us an incredible sense of confidence.
We ended up having unexpectedly bad weather. The beautiful outdoor ceremony we'd planned with fall colors ended up being cold and rainy with icy gusts and sleet. When we had to move the ceremony inside, Mariah handled EVERYTHING. Honestly, the venue wasn't being very flexible, but Mariah worked with them to come up with an amazing plan B. All I had to do was show up.
I'll also give a plug for Superior Blooms, the sister company for Northland Special Events. They were our florist, and my bouquet was simply gorgeous. I got compliment after compliment on it all night. Mariah really understood our vision for the wedding and the florals were a perfect complement.
There were so many little details that Mariah and her team thought of and provided that made our wedding special. I can't recommend them highly enough! Truly, hiring Northland Special Events was the single best wedding decision we made. -

Money well spent
I really don't even know where to begin. Northland Special Events was a godsend for our wedding. Right at the first phone call, I knew I would hire them. Lynda took my call and spent 20 minutes giving me venue ideas, etc. - at this point I hadn't paid them a thing and had received some of the best information I'd had . That's the kind of first impression that you never forget !
Mariah got my vibe and what I was looking for even when I didn't know how to get my ideas across. If wedding planning isn't really your "thing" you'll never regret hiring them. I had very specific ideas about what I wanted, and no idea how to execute them as well as no patience for any of it. Mariah took this all off my plate, gave me ideas I'd never had, and made my vision come to life. That, coupled with the knowledge that my family and friends didn't have to be concerned with logistics the day of, made this the best money we spent for our wedding. Truly cannot recommend Northland Special Events enough. -

The Best in the area
Thank you so much Mariah, Ellen, Sydney and all the rest of the crew who had a hand in making our wedding the best day of our lives. From our first meeting to the last I never questioned your abilities and expertise. Everything you did was flawless. All the floral, centerpieces, coordinating our rehearsal and our wedding day was well worth the pricing. This was my favorite expense because it made us the most happy and RELAXED. Mariah is literally a fairy godmother who made all my dreams come true. -

Dream Wedding
I can not recommend NSE and Mariah's team enough, they help you through every step of the wedding planning process. I felt so close with Mariah during the planning that I ended up choosing her as our wedding officiant as well. Everyone at NSE wants you to have your dream wedding and they will go to the ends of the earth to make your day the perfect day for you. Northland special events
NSE was amazing to work with. Easy to communicate with and exceeded all of our expectations. Our coordinator listened to what we had envisioned and fully executed. The set up and clean up crew was amazing and worth every penny. -

NSE not only exceeded our expectations but blew them out of the water! I have known Mariah and her team for some time but to work with them on our wedding was a dream come true. Each meeting we had was a ton of fun and all of my visions, simply put, came alive on the day of the wedding! One of the most special moments was when Darrin and I were able to walk into the ballroom for our "First Look" with Mariah and we were speechless. Every detail, every meeting, came alive in that ballroom! It was spectacular, unique, and so very special to us.
I would encourage all brides to hire NSE for their wedding it takes all of the stress off the bride, bridesmaids, families, etc. The weekend should be enjoyed and that is definitely what we had with NSE leading the way!
We would hire NSE again and again and will continue to for all the events that come our way. You have a lifelong client! -

Planning a wedding from the groom’s perspective I had no idea the amount of work and stress that goes into it by the bride. My wife and I just got married 8/11/18. I am much more of a easy going “you decide babe” kinda guy. My wife on the other hand put her heart and soul into planning this wedding. She was also working overtime for her career and ran out of time for planning. We decided to hire NSE about a year before our big day. We live about two and a half hours from Duluth and we’re thinking that we possibly needed help. I was skeptical about paying someone for something we could do ourselves. About 2 weeks before our day we sat down for our final meeting. My wife was feeling a level of stress of 10 out of 10 and I was really worried. After our final meeting however Mariah and the team relieved us of the nagging stress. Not only does she seamlessly bring everything together, she is also like a therapist in working with the bride. She was able to speak with my wife in a way that calmed her and put her at ease. On the day of the wedding I was absolutely shocked at how they lead everything and made sure that everything went to plan. My wife was bombarded with questions and we were able to defer everything to NSE and they took care of it. Any requests that we had - they took care of it with a smile and quickness. Mariah also was the one that married us at the ceremony and I highly recommend her for that as well. She really outdid all of my expectations. They also did our decorations and flowers and then took all of our gifts to our hotel room at the end of the night so we didn’t have to worry about a thing! If you are a groom and worried about spending the amount of money they charge, believe me they are worth it for your wife’s sanity and your own. Planning a wedding is especially taxing on the bride. And if you’re like me and hate to see your significant other stressed, do everyone involved including yourself a favor and hire Northland Special Events. -

NSE is amazing!! Ellen and her team went above and beyond for our big day. It was pouring rain and they were running umbrellas back and forth, getting soaked themselves, but ensuring we were staying dry. The room was put together exactly how I imagined. They also loaded up all of the presents and decor and packed up our car so all we had to do was leave in the morning. They are easy to communicate with, professional, and SO FUN to have be a part of our big day! 100% recommend. -

We are so thankful we made the decision to work with NSE. Our coordinator was Mariah, and she did a wonderful job! We basically showed her what we liked and she made it happen! I showed her pictures from Pinterest and she made them appear in real life! We got all of our decor, linen and flowers from NSE and we purchased the “day of coordinator” package which was probably the best money spent out of the whole wedding! Mariah was there all day and night making sure everything was set up and ready to go! She even met with us the night before to go through rehearsal. Mariah is the best and a must!-

The talented team of people at Northland Special Events are busy for a reason. They are simply the best at what they do. We worked with Yana. From day one, she got to know us on a more personal level in order to figure out exactly how to make our dream wedding happen within our budget. She certainly exceeded expectations! She set up a design board based on what she learned about us.
Roughly two weeks prior to our wedding, we had some ideas that we wanted to incorporate. We weren’t sure if it was too last minute, but we brought them up last and Yana said it wouldn’t be a problem. I was able to drop personal items off with her two days before so I didn’t have to worry about forgetting them at home day of. I had forgotten to buy a special pen for our wood pallet guest book sign. She told me not to worry and brought one of her pens from home. Talk about service! She also contacted all of our vendors and provided them with our timeline and made sure they were clear on details for the day. Fast forward to the big day, Yana and her team set up the reception in the morning and tore down when the night was over. Everything just seemed to magically appear where it was supposed to, and they were the reason for it.
If you opt in for the day of coordination (BEYOND worth it), you have someone from NSE assisting you throughout the day to make sure everything goes smoothly. There are always going to be little things that come up (flowers get damaged and Yana was there with a pin to fix it, hair comes undone and she asked if her assistant should grab curling iron, guest list changes, etc.) and when you are getting married, you just want to enjoy the day and not have to deal with them. On top of all of that Yana surprised us with extra special touches throughout the day; she really went above and beyond.
Utilizing a resource like NSE definitely makes your dream wedding a reality. Big shout out to Yana for helping make our day perfect! -

Yana and Mikayla were absolutely amazing! We have a 5 month old and Mikayla took him the entire day/night which was very much appreciated! Diane from Fleurtations (Northland Special Events) did a BEAUTIFUL job with all of the floral arrangements and wedding party flowers. They were absolutely stunning, and the planning with her was incredibly easy. She understood what I was looking for as far as overall vision, and the colors she chose were spot on matches for the bridesmaids dresses and coordinating colors. I've received countless comments from guests saying how gorgeous the flowers were. The best part is that a majority of the arrangements have lasted over a week, so we've been lucky to enjoy them at home, as well as dry some of the bouquets etc. Pricing was very reasonable, and the end product was well worth it. -

We hired Yana at NSE to do our decor and flowers for our July 2017 wedding. I can honestly say, I couldn't have done it without her. She made my day a dream come true. She took my ideas and visions & added her professional touch to create my perfect day. I also hired her for day of coordination, her and her team were there with me the entire day. If you're considering "day of coordination", stop considering and just do it- so worth it. My now husband and I could not have been more pleased, we loved Yana!!! -

Northland Special Events decorated the ceiling of the Superior Ballroom at Lutsen Resort on Lake Superior for my daughter's wedding. They decorated it with tulle, lights and chandelier. The price was a little more because of the travel that was necessary to get to the venue, but they did a beautiful job and we were very pleased. -

Kyla is the reason my wedding went off without a hitch! As a conservative spender, I didn't think it was necessary to hire someone for her job, and I was very wrong! (Mom was right, again!) Her professionalism, calm demeanor, and creative style were exactly what was needed to create a wedding that EVERYONE (including two teenage stepsons) absolutely loved. She was able to step in and resolve every sticky (or potentially sticky) situation before it ever came to my attention or became a problem. In addition, she does a great job of "reading" personalities and meeting the needs of all people, while still putting my thoughts first. There are very few people who could do her job as well as she does; I'm incredibly thankful for her!

This was the best money we spent for our wedding. Yana was extremely helpful and responsive to all our questions and concerns. We hired Yana for the day-of coordination and decorating and we didn't have to worry about a thing on our wedding day. We received many compliments on the decorations. My husband and I felt the day went smoothly and it wouldn't have happened with Yana and the NSE team! -

I worked with Yana at Northland Special Events and from start to finish she was absolutely amazing. She was very organized and helped me put together my vision for the wedding. She was very open to my ideas and was very responsive and quick to return my calls/emails whenever I had questions. The day of our wedding we were in complete shock when we saw how beautiful our reception hall was. Yana had everything set up exactly how we envisioned it, plus more! From the flowers, to the center pieces, to the head table....Everything was perfect. Yana is great to work with and I enjoyed every minute. -

Yana Stockman was our coordinator. She was wonderful to work with, she understood exactly the vision I had for my wedding and made it happen (this was no easy feat, I had a very particular vision!). I literally didn't have to lift a finger on my wedding day - she coordinated setup, made sure we were running on time and kept me calm. I don't say this lightly ... hiring Yana/NSE was the BEST money we spend on our wedding. If you are getting married in Northern MN, you would be crazy not to consider hiring her! -

I have used Northland Special Events for my dances at our high school and have been so very impressed. Rather than worrying about the time, set up, storage and take down, the professional team comes in and takes care of it all. They are also responsive to our requests as well as the special touches that we wanted to make the events our own.
My motto as the dance event co-coordinator at our school is "work smarter not harder". My motto is definitely aligned with what NSE is all about. If you want to enjoy your event and the people that are enjoying it, do yourself the favor of hiring the best!

If we could give a rating of 100 we would! Yana and the crew at Northland Special Events gave us a FAIRY TALE COME TRUE! We honesty felt as though we were in a dream. Yana listened to each of my requests and made sure that we were able to meld two themes, winter wonderland and board games, that should never have been able to work together. From start to finish we felt as though we were the only ones she was working with even tough we knew full well that there were several other couples sharing her with us. The work that was done for us was above all our expectations. Our ceremony decor was perfection, the cocktail hour decor was a great blend of ceremony and reception, and the reception was more than our dreams could've ever imagined. The bouquets were beyond beautiful and the floral centerpieces were the talk of the night. The icing on the cake was my hopes of being married under a chandelier come to life! If you're on the fence about hiring NSE, DO IT!!! -

Mariah and the entire staff a NSE are beyond amazing. Mariah met with us personally for a consultation, and not 5 minutes into our meeting my mind was at ease. Not only did she understand what we were looking for, she offered unique suggestions to make the day our own. And let me tell you, when the big day finally came, I was overjoyed. Not only did she capture our vision for a vintage Christmas wedding, she made it even better. It wasn't only beautiful, more importantly it was heartfelt, and I can't thank Mariah and NSE enough for that. -

Hands down, the BEST wedding decision that we made was booking NSE!!! I can not even begin to describe how thankful we are that we found NSE. They listened to our wedding visions, worked within our budget and made our wedding dreams come true and then some. We are from the cities and had our wedding at Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth and I do not know how the day would have been possible without NSE. Truly worth EVERY penny! It was a wonderful feeling to be able to enjoy our wedding day with our wedding party and families and not have to worry about the little details of the day. Also, our parents commented how it was so great that they were able to enjoy the day and not stress out about anything. We have received many compliments from our vendors, wedding guests and families about the professionalism of NSE and how perfect our wedding day was :)

We thought that everything that we had picked out that we had NSE do for us turn out absolutely wonderful. Yana and her assistant did an outstanding job on making sure our day was special and we didn't have to worry about anything. Which is exactly what we wanted. After our wedding 3 people that I know of that are getting married asked who did our decorations and I gave them Yana's email address so they could at least sit and talk to her about what they were looking for. Everyone was very impressed with the decorations looked in the room. We will definitely use NSE again for any other special occasions we have in the future. Keep up the good work. -

Mariah was AMAZING. She was in contact with us throughout the entire process of planning, to the point where we felt she really got to know us and personalize our wedding to reflect us and our relationship together (This was SO amazing because we were planning the wedding from out of state in NC where we currently live). It was because of this that we felt she would be perfect as our officiant, and she was exactly that! They took care of our flowers, decor, officiant services, wedding planning/coordination, and party favors. (She even sent us ideas and contacts for invitations!!)
We had them there for the wedding rehearsal the day before, as well as for the wedding the day of. Their coordination service is worth EVERY PENNY, especially since I tend to be a worrier. She and her team took care of everything, any issue that arose, and went above and beyond to be accommodating. She was in contact with all of our vendors and was so helpful at keeping everyone on the same page about the timeline of how things were supposed to happen.
The pricing was such an easy process - we gave her our budget, we told her everything we wanted incorporated in the wedding, she met with us over skype multiple times to discuss further details, and then she made it all fit within that budget we discussed. In the later part of planning, we realized we didn't have time to do small party favors and asked her if it was something she and her team could help us with. She said of course, told us the cost of it to add to the budget, and we loved how they turned out on our big day!
I was beyond impressed with Mariah's ability to make our wedding day so special by incorporating aspects of us and our journey together. (She incorporated where we met and the love letters we wrote to each other into the decorations!) Beginning to end was 1000% stress free! I cannot stress enough how amazing her work is, how much I enjoyed working with her, and how much I would recommend her and her team!! -

Where to even begin? I was hesitant to hire a wedding planner but I am so glad that I did. Looking back, our wedding would not have been the same and it was worth every penny. From the moment that I met Yana, I knew that we were in good hands. Not only is she beautiful, but she went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was everything that we imagined and more. Throughout the entire process she understood our budget but still brought our vision to life and was also extremely patient with all members of my family involved, listening to every opinion, yet making it work with what I (the bride) truly wanted. Her consultations left us more and more at ease until the big day when everyone was blown away with every detail. I would highly recommend Yana and Northland Special Events. They are not one of those wedding planners that is going to show up the day of, coordinate everything you already put together, and over-charge you. Having chosen to have a destination wedding at Lutsen Resort on the shore of Lake Superior, it was a bit daunting to think about how to find and choose vendors that would help us provide the wedding we had hoped for from a distance. Then we decided to research wedding planning services and found Mariah at Northland Special Events. This was a blessing and we couldn't have asked for a better person to assist us during the planning process. She helped design our wedding, find vendors that suited our needs and budget, ensured we didn't forget any aspect or detail of our wedding, and overall, her and her amazing staff made our dream wedding a reality. Her staff worked hard decorating our ceremony site, social/cocktail hour and ballroom for our reception/dance. They were by our side throughout the wedding day making sure each event ran smoothly and so on. We had the honor of working with Mariah and Lindsey to make our big day come to life!! Mariah was able to slow my husband and I down to the point where we could enjoy the planning process. Instead of seeing it as a giant to-do list, she breathed life back into it all. With her help and creative eye we were able to put together something beautiful and unique to us as a couple. Lindsey was our day-of point person, and we were so grateful for her. Our venue lost power, had to relocate all parts of the event with less than 24 hours notice. Knowing Lindsey was handling the set up and execution of our design put my husband and I at such ease. We were able to truly enjoy the morning of our wedding, without having to think twice about what the evening would look like. She helped manage our vendors, and was able to make our back up space sparkle and look even better than the original plan would have. We received so many compliments on the decor.
Lastly, our floral was incredible. I didn't know exactly what I had wanted, but I had an idea. The ladies at NSE were able to interpret my vision and really bring it to life. I had a gorgeous, asymmetrical bouquet and my bridesmaids had the perfect compliment. The men looked pretty great too :) -

If you can, you must do it! NSE was the icing on the cake! My daughter's wedding was truly magical, a fairy tale come true! Mariah, and her entire staff are amazing! Every detail was perfect, every flower gorgeous! They listened to the wishes of all, and then used their amazing talents to create a dream, once in a lifetime ceremony space and reception at the beautiful Greysolon Ballroom! I would never have been able to enjoy myself if I had tried to do this alone. Using them for the entire year was the best decision we made, from the first gathering, to the invitation suite, we couldn't have been happier with every attention to detail. The day of the wedding, they arrived at 8AM, and stayed until after 2 AM, setting up, conducting rehearsals, decorating, taking down, and packing up everything and storing it for us until we could pick it up. Where do I even begin? Let's start with the fact that I live in Oklahoma.... A nice 14 hour drive away from Duluth. When Matt & I first got engaged my Mom and I started talking about ideas for the wedding. I could not have asked for a better wedding planner. Michaela was amazing. From the first meeting she was totally immersed and interested in making sure my wedding day was perfect. She knew exactly how to make my vision come true. She made so much time for meetings and phone calls to go over little details. Michaela even went as far as to help deal with a jewelry store that broke my wedding band two days before my wedding as I was too upset to talk to them myself. Michaela did amazingly on setting our venue for our wedding even after 3 hours of travel to get to the venue. The day of the wedding our pianist was sick and unable to make the ceremony so last minute Michaela found someone to play without a hitch in the day, how amazing is that! They say that there is always something that goes wrong on your wedding day but I don't think Michaela let that happen. We were on time the whole rehearsal and wedding day thanks to all of her meticulous planning. If I could do it all over again I'd do it just the same with hiring Michaela as my wedding planner, she is simply the best! -

Tami from Northland Special Events did an amazing job of developing our daughter's ideas and making them come alive. She was always responsive to our questions and e mails. Northland Special events worked exceptionally well with our other vendors and made everything feel easy and smooth. I don't think the day would have come together as it did without her expertise and professional crew. -

if you're questioning if you should hire these women, stop now. Mariah and her team were more than I could have ever dreamed of. Every single thing was beyond incredible. They take the time to get to know you and know exactly what you're looking for. People say there's always something that goes wrong on your wedding day, ours was 150% perfect. There were no worries, no stress, it was all immaculate. From the set up to the flowers to the ceremony, Mariah and the ladies killed it. After all of this I feel like I've had the most magical experience ever but also gained a lifelong friend. So thank you to Mariah and all the beautiful women who made it so amazing. -

Nothing but AMAZING things to say about NSE. We began our journey with Mariah, who came up with a gorgeous and elegant vision board that completely fit our style and our budget. The inspiration photos were amazing- and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the real life version was even more breath taking. NSE considers every single fine detail and completely captured us as a couple. We spent many hours meeting/chatting with Mariah and Bridget leading up to the event to make sure we crossed our t's and dotted our i's. Initially, we were not going to add on the "day of coordination" service, but after talking to Mariah, we decided to go for it. Bridget was our coordinator and she was absolutely AMAZING. I honestly don't even know how we could have had a successful wedding without her. She went above and beyond in every single way, was extremely friendly (all our guests loved her too- especially our 2.5 yr old son who she entertained and bribed with his favorite jelly beans!!) and pulled out all the stops. I felt almost ZERO stress on the big day because of her preparation, help with the rehearsal, and day of coordination (and moral support!!). The day went off without a hitch, she even worked with our venue leading up to the wedding so we didn't have to be the middle man in communication. Our guests said it was one of the most classy, beautiful and fun weddings they have ever been to and it was all possible because of Mariah and Bridget and their team. I am already recommending NSE to everyone I know that is planning a wedding. We aren't from the area and stumbled upon them and have never been happier we did. The whole experience was amazing. The best customer service, friendliest women, impeccable style, EVERYTHING! -

Mariah completely understood what we were looking for in the flowers and they could not have been more perfect for our event theme. We used several signs and pieces to complete our centerpieces as well as pillars for the alter area. A friend suggested I hire NSE as a "Day of" Trouble Shooter the suggestion was the greatest gift she could have given me! We dropped favors and centerpieces off days before the wedding, they set them up exactly as we wanted as well as all off the other pieces we had for decor to set up a 1920's theme. She was there to run the rehearsal, take care of any thing that came up and then it was all dismantled and ready for us to take away. They even offered to take back to their shop so it could be picked up later! They are invaluable and if my other daughter should marry in this area,I would head to them first! -

Northland held a wedding on Strand Island here on Pelican Lake in Orr, MN. They worked with us Cabin O' Pines, a local fishing resort, to make what we considered impossible, possible. The wedding was very professional and great for the area!

I had my wedding at the Glensheen mansion, with an outdoor tent for the reception. I had always had a vision of how the tent would look and NSE exceeded it! The tent was beautiful - it looked like a dream in there! The flowers were amazing. And the whole process of working with Tami and the others was so easy and fun. My husband and I live in Minneapolis and were planning a wedding at Bluefin Bay Resort in April. At first, we didn’t know if our budget would allow for a wedding coordinator, so we had meetings arranged with several miscellaneous vendors we thought we may need. After meeting with only 2 venders we met with Mariah and learned about her process for planning/coordinating a wedding. We left the meeting realizing how much we loved Mariah/NSE and her ideas and quickly cancelled our other meetings in hopes NSE would work with the budget we had. We had another meeting to share our budget and Mariah and NSE was confident they could work with what we had and make our day everything we wanted.
Mariah and NSE helped us with our rehearsal, coordinated our wedding day timeline, created the most beautiful flower arrangements, and offered the support of a best friend throughout the day. They turned the shore of Lake Superior into a site above and beyond any expectation we could’ve imagined with details from welcome signs, displaying blankets for the guests and flowers with every detail. Our reception was everything we could’ve asked for turning our passions of wine, the colors yellow & grey, and making the room feel and look like “US”. Our wedding turned out to be the wedding of our dreams…and not one detail was out of place!
If you are in the process of planning your wedding (or any event), we highly recommend Mariah and the entire NSE staff. They are very professional, caring, detail oriented, and do amazing work!

Our advice to a couple looking to hire a decorator would be spend the extra money to make your day easier and look beautiful. We were hesitant to hire a decorator because of cost but it was absolutely worth it. Northland Special Events went above and beyond to make our day super easy for us. They worked incredibly hard to make sure we didn't have to worry about the small stuff, and that gave us more time to spend with friends and family, which is priceless. -

The staff at Northland Special Events are AMAZING!!! The Hermantown Prom 2016 was the first time that I headed a prom and I feel that the guidance, attention to detail and just the positive spirit of the ladies at Northland helped me through the entire thing. Tami took a potentially stressful time and made it a breeze for us. When our first venue didn't respond in a timely fashion, Tami had a back up venue that honestly was even better. She was able to help us make it a well budgeted affair that looked far more grand than it was. As the bride and groom live out of town Tami was able to take their ideas from the brides pinterest board and incorporate them into the reception. The winter woodland theme was amazing. Words can not describe the incredible Mariah and her outstanding team from Northland Special Events. We are BEYOND happy with the services that NSE provided for our wedding. From the first meeting, I knew it was going to be a perfect fit. I am big into event planning and have helped several other brides plan their big days, so I was looking for someone experienced that I knew could handle the day-of coordination and I received so much more than that.
Mariah and the NSE team handled EVERY detail of my big day. The linens, flowers, centerpieces, ceremony decor, table numbers, card box, votives, even the organization of the REHEARSAL the night before! The flowers from Fluertation (NSE's flower side of things) were absolutely STUNNING. Mariah even added a little "B" pinned to my bouquet. The wedding was full of their sweet, thoughtful and personal touches like that.
This was by far the best money we spent on our wedding, and Mariah was great about working within our budget. From the first meeting, she was sincere, organized and really zeroed in on who my husband and I were as people and the things that made our relationship special. She helped me focus my ideas (and Pinterest obsessions!) to create a theme and atmosphere for our guests that was truly magical. The final product was absolutely stunning and so much more special than what I could've done without NSE.
Mariah and her team spent the entire day at our wedding from set up in the morning to take down past midnight. I can't thank them enough for giving our parents, wedding party and ourselves peace of mind that we didn't have to worry about coordinating with venue staff, moving tables, hauling decorations, setting-up or tearing anything down at the venue. We wanted our friends and family to enjoy the weekend without having to do last minute prep and we were all able to sit back and relax.
NSE was the most amazing team to work with. They truly are the TOTAL package! :) -

Michaela at Northland Special Events is absolutely wonderful. I didn't originally have NSE booked for my wedding, but I made the switch after realizing how unreliable the other decorator I first hired was. I contacted Michaela and she knew what I was looking for right away. If I ever had a question, she would get back to me right away and give great advice. Michaela even came to our venue the night before our wedding to ensure that everything was good to go for her to decorate the next morning. We worked with Yana at NSE and she was wonderful!! We first were just looking to get ideas and help with some lighting and we ended up hiring Yana to do all of our décor for the ceremony and the reception and it was money well spent!! We could not have done what she did on our own; she was so great with incorporating our ideas with some of her own and it was just perfect!! Michaela turned our dream wedding into reality. Not only did she help research and coordinate with vendors to get us the best deals, she also did all of our flowers and decorations, making our wedding a real-life pinterest board. She was super helpful throughout the 7 months prior to the wedding - checking in with us regularly and making sure we were on track with everything. She also worked really closely with us to make sure she understood our vision and made great suggestions to bring it to life. And i can't say enough about how amazing she was on the wedding day. All of our guests were so impressed on how well organized and on how beautiful everything looked, they mentioned several times that they felt like they were inside a fairytale! Tami executed our vision flawlessly. We had so much fun working with this company that they have become members of our extended family. We will definitely use them again. If you are looking for help planning an event, you really couldn't do any better than NSE. Talk to Tami or Mariah, they are gems!! -

Working with Tami Siebert was simply awesome. She thought of so many details ahead of time that helped make our daughter's entire wedding day run like clockwork. We'd done all of the wedding planning on our own before even finding out about NSE's services. But, as mother-of-the bride, I did not want to be carrying around a clipboard on the day of the wedding. So, we met and hired Tami from NSE to be our onsite coordinator for the big day. She and I met twice, then she also met with the bride and groom when they came to town. That really helped us all work together seamlessly. We turned over all of the "logistics" at both the church and reception to her. She offered great suggestions of ways to add to the ambiance (e.g. a sweet & salty bar at the reception) and helped outline a timetable that would help keep things moving efficiently. She and her assistant even showed up at the church for rehearsal the night before to get to know the "flow" of the event and to meet the full wedding party. From then on, having Tami "in charge of the troops" meant that the bride and groom ... and we parents could sit back, relax and enjoy the entire day from start to finish. She even moved flowers from the church back to the reception and carried the photographer in her van! Tami kept everyone relaxed and on schedule in a way that kept us all smiling! And she still found time to steam wrinkles out of the wedding dress. -

Working with Colleen helped me tremendously! I felt like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders throughout the planning process. We met with her in the beginning to get an idea of what Northland Special Events is all about, and how much it would cost to work with them since they would be setting up all of our decorations and taking care of our flowers. Colleen had us go to the shop with her and look through the decorations to get an idea of what style we liked. After we started figuring out what we liked, she put together a booklet for us and an estimate of how much it would cost. If there was anything that was over our budget she would take it out. She was in contact with myself, my husband, and my mom throughout the process to make sure we had what we wanted. I forgot to mention, when my husband and I started looking at wedding venues in Duluth, MN we forgot to plan around Grandma's Marathon weekend (the largest and busiest weekend in Duluth!!), which ended up being our wedding day! Northland Special Events went above and beyond to make sure that our flowers and decorations were delivered to our wedding venue the day before our wedding ready to be set up. Colleen was at the rehearsal setting up for the ceremony in Cloquet and even stayed in Cloquet that night to start setting up in the morning. After a long day (starting at 8am and the dance ending at 11pm), Colleen came back at 11pm to tear down all of the decorations, organize everyone, and make sure that any decorations we had purchased were returned completely cleaned! I would highly recommend Northland Special Events to anyone planning a wedding. They were always one step ahead asking questions, getting answers, and staying well organized! -

Where do I begin?! Our wedding turned out to be more than we could have ever imagined! The way you all helped to make our event beautiful, special, amazing and meaningful, was beyond our expectations. There are no words that can express how grateful we as a family are.
