A great DJ for our wedding was a priority. I am Israeli and my wife is Central American and our friends and families love to dance.
We reached out after seeing great feedback online regarding multicultural weddings. The clear pricing on their site was also a plus! We worked directly with DJ Ben who made this process so easy. It was clear from our first call that he was excited about his role for the big day and wanted to work closely with us to create the perfect evening.
The worksheet he provided was helpful for us to really think about music. after the second pre wedding call, we felt at ease/excited and knew Ben would deliver.
Life threw us an unexpected curveball before our big day so some things were touch and go and we made modifications. Despite this, Ben demonstrated compassion, flexibility and the utmost professionalism. Thanks to Ben we had an amazing night with a packed dance floor like we wanted. Thank you Ben! -

We had a great experience working with Ben leading up to the wedding and with DJ Rafe on the day of our wedding. Ben was very oragnized and responsive, and Rafe did a wonderful job DJing/MCing our wedding. We had some unexpected rain right before our ceremony, but Rafe rolled with the punches and handled everything seamlessly and kept the party going through our afterparty until late at night. Would highly recommend! -

We wanted to say thank you for an unforgettable party! Countless of our friends and family have told us how they wanted to dance the night away. The playlist was phenomenal -- mixing our love of pop and Latin hits. Matt even coordinated a playlist with a surprise performance from our drag queens, and it was brilliant. Our friends and family cannot stop talking about how that was the best dance party they've ever been to at a wedding.
There are too many moments to list, but it was a wonderful night, we're so glad Matt was a part of our wedding reception. He felt out the vibe of the party and kept the dance floor packed all night by playing music that people really enjoyed -- never getting bogged down by slow songs or cheesy wedding dances. Thank you for bringing the energy and making our day a true celebration of love. And for making it, so our family had to be dragged off the dance floor. -

Matt absolutely CRUSHED it at our wedding on Saturday. Words cannot begin describe how appreciative we are. He made our wedding so incredibly special and managed the vibe to get the crowd's immediate buy-in from a very bright, holy Catholic wedding to somehow the most crazy, enthusiastic, joyful dancing spirit I have ever seen out of our guests. Seriously. He was so core to our wedding guest experience and he made ZERO mistakes and made over ONE MILLION perfect decisions. He absolutely was a key party ambassador from start to finish, and we are so so so so so so grateful. We cannot say enough great things about him. Everyone was obsessed with him... aka "DJ Adam Driver"! Here's only a short, abbreviated list our favorite core memories from the evening:
Walking out to "This Will Be" and weaving through our tables to the dance floor
Perfectly fading into our first dance song and cheering us on

We knew that our wedding would be a great time, but still we were absolutely blown away and our expectations were alarmingly exceeded. We cannot think of enough compliments to give not just Matt but you and your team. We both feel that we only saw a sliver of the team's very hard work and care that was put into our wedding. The results were perfect... It felt so personal, so joyful, and so professional. We don't know how you all pulled off the perfect day, but it's a long long long list of very happy memories that we will talk about every single day for the rest of our lives. -

We are so happy we hired Ben for our April wedding at Rule of Thirds. From the beginning, Ben was easy to communicate with, and he made the process of planning the music throughout the entire wedding extremely easy with a detailed worksheet. We were also able to add in some Spotify playlists we made with song suggestions. Ben understood our musical tastes very quickly and played banger after banger during the dance portion of our wedding. The music flowed very smoothly/no awkward transitions, and none of the songs felt cut off too quickly. We had so much fun, and multiple guests told us they loved the music selections! We also especially appreciated his seamless integration of a cultural song for some of our older family members into the beginning of the dance portion of the wedding, as well as his ability to cut the song for our processional with the exact parts that we wanted. Thank you so much Ben! -

Jonathan Romero DJ'd our wedding for us in October 2024 at Marina Del Rey in Throgs Neck, NYC, and we were absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. He seamlessly wove several genres of music together that matched the energy of our guests, and people were dancing all night long.
Jonathan received positive feedback from many of our guests of diverse backgrounds/differnt ages, and he also received praise from our venue's bridal attendant who regularly works weddings.
The process was smooth, as we had a couple of conversations with Jonathan and Ben in advance of the wedding. We also filled out a worksheet that they provided with all of our ceremony & entrance music. We had less than 5 song requests for the wedding reception, and asked Jonathan to take care of the rest, based on our conversations and our worksheet. We knew we were asking for a lot since we asked for music that spanned several decades and many genres (Including Latin music). He nailed it: the music perfectly fit our taste. We were grateful for his vast knowledge of many music genres.
The sound for the wedding ceremony and reception was perfect - everything was clear and audible, and the music was neither too loud nor too soft; with seemless transition between genres and moods required between dinner, speeches, and all over party fun. He was fully ready and prepared in advance of both the ceremony and reception.
We are happy to recommend Jonathan as a wedding DJ and Non-Traditional Wedding DJs as a service. We also opted for a photobooth rental, and the photos came out great, and were easy to download after the event. -

We worked with Matthew to DJ our wedding of 130 people at Shell's Loft in Brooklyn. He did an amazing job working with us to play the music we wanted throughout the cocktail hour, ceremony, and dance floor. He made all of our guest feel comfortable on the dance floor and helped us have the party we wanted. We also used them for the hosted photo booth which was a guest favorite and made for great pictures of the night -

Taela was the DJ at our wedding two weeks ago and she did a wonderful job! We met with her a few times before the event to discuss our music preferences. We were hosting a fusion Indian American wedding so wanted a mix of music that would get all the different guests on the dance floor and she certainly delivered! She created an awesome blend of the initial songs we sent her and used that inspo to keep the vibes going all night. Additionally, she really helped us out with a couple of announcements throughout the night. She has a calm but fun presence which is perfect for a wedding celebration. Definitely recommend going with Taela and non-traditional wedding DJs! -

As soon as we began wedding planning, we knew that we didn’t want one of those loud DJs making too many announcements, and we didn’t want the basic wedding music (Cupid shuffle etc.) When we came across Non Traditional Wedding DJs, their name alone had us sold! Music has been a huge part of our relationship and we wanted our wedding to feel personal to us, and not the same as any other wedding. Flavya paid close attention to our different music styles and vibe preferences for each part of the wedding (pre ceremony, cocktail hour, wedding, & dance). She curated a playlist that fit perfectly! Each song had a smooth transition into the next, and we were able to hear the many songs and genre types that we asked for. Flavya was a pleasure to work with and truly made us feel heard and understood. Throughout the process and the wedding night, she was professional and her minimal announcements were clear and helpful to our us and our guests. We highly recommend working with Non Traditional DJs!
- Also, we included the up-lights and photo-booth and I’m so glad we did! The up-lights brought an intimate and romantic feel during dinner, and made the dance floor even more of a party! Our guests had a blast with the Photo Booth, and loved that they were able to text the photos directly to their phones. -

We highly recommend Non-Traditional Wedding DJs! Flavya was our DJ and she did the most amazing job. She met with us prior to the wedding to learn exactly what we wanted from a DJ, from volume and type of music to what announcements she could make throughout the event. On the wedding day, everything went so smoothly and she played such amazing music! The dance floor was packed all night. The main comment we have gotten from friends and family after the wedding is how good the music was. Notably, Flavya can accommodate a wide range of genres, as we started the night with 70s and 80s dance music and ended with rap. She can truly accommodate any taste and play what YOU want to hear. -

We are so lucky to have booked Ben as the DJ for our wedding last month at The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island. He was one of our favorite vendors to work with! He was so personable, easy to chat with, and my husband and I had the best time geeking out over music with him. He was always super quick to respond when we had a question. And most importantly- the dance floor was packed all night long! Guests of all ages loved his music picks, and many of our guests said he was the best wedding DJ they’d ever experienced. I think so many people are used to cheesy, schmaltzy DJs who don’t really tune into the crowd- Ben is the opposite. He knows how to catch the vibe and keep the party moving and grooving all night long. If you’re looking for a DJ with no ego, who is a kind human and a joy to work with, who will keep people dancing all night long- look no further than Ben. He is your guy. -

DJ Rafe Terrizzi came highly recommended from a friend-of-a-friend, and we were SO glad we went with him for our wedding at Kanopi (Opus Westchester)! The owner Ben Boylan was very organized in sending us a detailed worksheet to fill out and reminder emails. We actually spent several months filling out the worksheet and curating an inspiration playlist, which Rafe/Ben definitely appreciated (and plan to feature!), to ensure we got the vibe just right. Rafe is super kind and professional – he was on-point with the music–cocktail (R&B), dinner (millennial pop), dance (2000/10s college party) and got our crowd DANCING ALL NIGHT!! He also emceed our speeches and did such a nice job of gently getting attention without feeling like an announcer. -

I couldn't have imagined a better DJ to have played at our wedding. From the start Ben took great consideration in the type of music and the vibe we wanted. We incorporated live music (horns, bongos) into the music for the night and the collaboration worked seamlessly! Through a couple well-timed prep conversations, a thoughtful pre-wedding form, and some Spotify playlists we shared back & forth, he seamlessly incorporated our ideas and track selections (even the deeper cuts) throughout the day – from arrival, to the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception dinner & dancing. DJ Ben is the best! We first discovered Ben at a friend's wedding a few years ago and loved his non-traditional style and his ability to weave together a perfect playlist. When we got engaged ourselves we knew we had to book Ben for our wedding. He was the first vendor we booked!
We gave Ben way too many songs, a list of must-plays, and a few last minute changes and nothing fazed him. He managed to turn our messy Spotify playlists into an awesome 3-hour dance party. He also accommodated our request for a traditional money dance, which everyone loved. We especially appreciated how communicative and attentive to detail he was during the event, checking in with us to make sure everything was on-track. We received so many compliments about the music during and after the wedding.
In addition, Non-Traditional Wedding DJs also provided a photobooth that was a huge hit with our guests. Not only was it a fun activity, it gave us dozens of photos for our guestbook that we will treasure forever.
Ben made our wedding a truly special night and I couldn’t imagine a better DJ for any wedding. Ben and team are highly recommended!!

Non-traditional wedding DJs were perfect for my wedding. First of all their price point is fair and competitive in the wedding DJ space. Owner Ben was extremely helpful in figuring out the kind of music my partner and I like and our DJ Thando executed it perfectly. I had a couple of pretty specific requests but also wanted Thando to include crowd-pleasers during the reception; he wove all of this together seamlessly. I spent so much time dancing that I didn’t even talk to some of our guests (oops) and that is a testament to the ambiance that the music created. I highly recommend Non-traditional Wedding DJs: 10/10, 5 stars, chef’s kiss! -

Joe took the time to get to know us and perfectly curated the soundtrack to our wedding so that it felt like us...so much so that we had guests asking if we provided the playlist! We were lucky enough to book Ben for our wedding, and from day one, we knew we had to work with him. He has years of experience working the NYC wedding scene, and it shows through his depth of knowledge on venues, music catalogues, and how to get a crowd moving!
My husband is an avid, and particular, music enthusiast, and so our music preferences started with highly prescriptive songs and playlists and ended with providing Ben with genres and styles we’d like to play for each part of the wedding. Ben made it clear that whatever our choices ended up being, he was confident in being able to execute our musical vibes, and he provided helpful and welcome guidance when we needed help.
Weddings are such a funny business because you, as the couple, will likely only meet your vendors in person on the day of. Trust me when I say you’ll feel like you’re old friends with Ben when you meet him on your special day, and book him! -

Rafe was absolutely the perfect DJ for our wedding - we had a specific music vibe/theme in mind - Rafe picked up on it and really ran with it in exactly the right way. The dance floor was packed all night; guests kept coming up to me telling me how much they loved the music, and I personally kept trying to leave to do wedding stuff but getting pulled back on by another banger that I just had to dance to. -

We worked with Ben from Non-Traditional DJs for our May 2023 wedding. Ben made the process incredibly easy for us from start to finish. He was also on top of communication leading up to the event; this helped helped manage our stress levels as we were chasing other vendors around.
Ben took the time to get to know our personal taste with scheduled calls and a comprehensive music work sheet. He was a great listener and made perfect suggestions. In the end, we appreciated how well our reception music represented us. Our guests have been messaging us about the music all week post wedding.

We highly recommend working with DJ Ben Boylan! From the beginning, he was enthusiastic and open-minded. While music selection for your wedding can feel like such an intimidating endeavor, Ben made the process fun and relaxing. He was encouraging us to lean into our musical preferences, and then allow him (if we were comfortable) to fill in the blanks and build around our “must play” songs. At the reception, we distinctly remember Ben observing the dance floor and making song adjustments to bring people back to the dance floor when people started to drift closer to the seats. His overall awareness of the dance floor’s energy was impeccable. Two wonderful perks about working with Ben are his recordings of the speeches at the weddings, and a full recording of all music played at your reception. It’s a fun way to relive the night, and the quality was very high. We received countless compliments on Ben and our wedding music selection, and DJ Ben rightfully earned it. -

Ben was our DJ for our 12/3/22 wedding, and I knew he was going to be amazing from the first time meeting him over our zoom introduction meeting, one year prior! There are not enough words to describe his amazing service, talent, and demeanor.
From the start, he made the process of choosing music for each moment of the night, music do's & don'ts, relaxing and fun! His knowledge and insight was super comforting as I knew we were in good hands! The day of the wedding he was extremely professional, prepared, and FUN!
We also rented his photo booth and uplights... all I have to say is just DO IT! Rent the photos & the up lights, you won't regret it. The photo booth is digital (the photos are sent directly to your provided email address), so it reduces waste & keeps things super simple! He even provides really great quality fun props to use in the photos :) The uplights completely transformed our reception space-- we did the amber/gold color for the start & then when things got a bit more rowdy we changed to this beautiful hot pink. It was exactly what I was imagining!
Guests were on the dance floor all night, and they loved the fact that he was an actual DJ that mixed tunes together, rather than just played a playlist.
We cannot recommend Ben enough.. we wish we could have another wedding simply to be able to work with him again! :) -

Booking a DJ was super important to us for the wedding and Ben knocked it out of the park, perfectly blending Caribbean music with American music for our multicultural wedding! If you’re looking for a wedding DJ, look no further. Ben is the perfect DJ. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him DJ some company parties, then my cousins wedding, and most recently, my wedding. Without fail, he continues to exceed expectations. When my fiancé and I are we’re stressing about the wedding music, Ben was our calming presence. When we provided him with some of the specific songs we wanted, he layered them into the ceremony and reception perfectly. His sound mixing, timing, and musical sense are outstanding. If you’re looking for a DJ, look no further than NT Wedding DJ’s. Ben and Ray were incredible. Ray was the DJ for our 120 person wedding upstate at Audrey’s farmhouse. Ben was super on top of the planning leading up to our big day - he always reached out to us ahead of schedule with helpful info for us and our first-time officiant. As a queer couple, we wanted to make sure our DJ used non-gendered and inclusive language to address us and our guests. They crushed it! Ray picked wonderful songs for our ceremony and dinner and played a great mix of our custom playlists during the reception. He managed speeches, took only the best requests from our guests and made sure everyone was happy and dancing all night long. The best part about NTWDJ’s is that they stay until your event is over - you aren’t paying by the hour and you don’t get hit with any surprise charges at the end of the night. They were amazing from start to finish and we can’t say enough good things. Thank you Ben and Ray! -

DJ Ben Boylan is the best decision you can make for your wedding. Ben is not only communicative, kind, and thoughtful, but he knows how to get and keep people on the dance floor shaking their booties!!! I am a wedding planner in NYC and Ben was the first vendor we hired for our own wedding in June 2022. He listened to all our requests with no judgement and was able to combine all sorts of genres of music throughout the night. He also has a low-profile setup and does not make unnecessary announcements. He also coordinated the sound for our rooftop ceremony and everyone was able to hear everything/it sounded great. After the wedding he even sent us a recording of the ceremony! Our friends have already booked him for their 2023 wedding. THANK YOU BEN! -

Professional vibe, super-eclectic music
DJ Ben Boylan TORE. IT. UP. Throughout the night he got folks up and out of their seats, dancing, and having fun. He has a whole worksheet and pre-meetings to go over the music styles and DJ vibe we wanted — and everything went as planned. He was also great about doing some unobtrusive emcee'ing to deliver much-needed announcements, introduce toasts, and keep the party running smoothly, in addition to simply delivering great great music picks. Our guests of many many ages and musical tastes, including some fellow DJs in attendance, came up to us over and over again to comment on how they heard so much great music that they didn't usually hear at weddings, which we took as the highest possible compliment. (Direct quote: “Best wedding music ever!”) The groom also sent Ben a last-minute request at 1am the night before the wedding and Ben handled it like a pro. We didn't provide any hard must-plays, but he managed to play a lot of the songs that were meaningful to us anyway, and wove in super-danceable Brazilian music into with the American pop songs. Music is super important to us as a couple, and it meant a lot that we found someone we trusted who totally nailed the vibe. Overall, just a super professional and accommodating wedding vendor, in addition to his music mastery. 100000/10. -

Home Run with DJ Ben
Using Ben for our wedding DJ was an incredibly smart decision for us. We got to experience him at my brother-in-law's wedding and we knew he was the perfect DJ for us. Leading up to our wedding, his communication with us was great and he conducted himself very professionally. He used our Spotify playlist as a guide and made a mix that got almost the whole wedding dancing the entire time. The way he understands all genres of music is very impressive...all-in-all we couldn't have been happier with choosing DJ Ben. -

Ben was exactly what we were hoping for and more in a wedding DJ. From our first consultation call, we knew Ben could help us realize what we wanted which was definitely a bit non-traditional. Ben took time to understand our music tastes and asked great questions to help us refine what the soundtrack would be for the cocktail hour and reception. We wouldn't change a thing about the songs Ben played over the five hours, and he had people dancing on the tables to artists from Miley Cyrus to Paul Simon. The sequencing of songs was fantastic, and all night our guests young and old commented on how great the music was. Ben is also a fantastic MC making clear, direct, and relevant announcements related to photos, dinner, after party, etc. I doubt there's a better DJ in the business. -

My husband and I are so grateful we found DJ Ben Boylan for our Manhattan wedding!! Our guests raved about the music and photo booth throughout our reception and Ben had everyone out on the dance floor all night long! Even with a microwedding, we had more guests out on our dance floor than a large wedding we recently attended. We loved that he used a natural speaking voice and didn’t play any corny songs that cleared the dance floor. We love that we got everyone’s photo booth pics and gifs and a recording of the reception afterwards! -

To say hiring Ben as our DJ was the best decision would be an understatement. When someone is as knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic about their craft as Ben is, it truly shows. We loved Ben's minimal announcing style, as we weren't fans of traditional/cheesy DJs. When we had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, Ben was the vendor we would have been so sad to lose. Luckily we found a date that worked and he helped make our day absolutely awesome.
From our first emails all the way through to our wedding day, Ben felt like an old friend instead of a vendor. He was always quick to respond to all our questions, and took my husband's mile long "do not play" list seriously which we really appreciated. To know Ben was just as excited to get our party started as we were meant everything! We cannot recommend Ben enough! -

If you’re looking for a wedding DJ- look no further!!!! DJ Ben is an absolute star- he really took the time to understand mine and my husbands music tastes, while also taking into consideration all of our wedding guests and mixing it up on the fly as he read the room! All of our guests were glued to the dance floor all night which is exactly what I hoped for - Ben truly made our wedding a hit!!!! Multiple people came to us afterwards complimenting his excellent taste in music and for having such a fun wedding from start to finish! -

We booked DJ Ben for our wedding on 8/1/21, and he blew away all of our expectations. He was so professional and easy to work with, from the first email, through all the check-ins, and especially the day of the wedding.
When we had our first video call with Ben, we were still figuring out what we wanted our music to be for our wedding. He gave us a great sense of confidence, and we knew he would be able to blend our musical tastes and keep the party going all night. One thing that we really loved about Ben was that he put us first. He stressed to us that it was our party and he was there to help make it better - and he delivered.
For the wedding, Ben provided music for the arrival of our guests, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner/reception, and afterparty - all at the same venue. He was exactly as advertised for the wedding. Since many people at our wedding had not seen each other in years, they were not as ready to get on the dance floor at first, as they were catching up and greeting one another. While some DJs would try and turn the music louder and yell for people to get on the dance floor, he instead read the room and changed up the plan we initially had and allowed our guests to continue to mingle. When it did come time to dance he threw it down and everyone had a great time dancing. We are still getting compliments from our parents and guests for how well Ben did.
After the wedding, Ben sent us an audio recording of the entire night, including the ceremony, speeches, and the last song. We had some regrets that we did not have a videographer to capture the ceremony and speeches but Ben had us covered with an extremely clear recording of the entire night. We plan on playing it during our next long road trip. -

I cannot recommend Ben enough! He was such an amazing vendor to work with and definitely one of the reason my wedding turned out so special! I had a friend sing during the ceremony and first dance and he set everything up for us. During the reception I had multiple guests say can’t seem to get off the dance floor because every song was a hit! I should also mentioned that the wedding was held during a heatwave, so the indoor/outdoor space was not exactly the ideal for dancing all night.
We also got uplights and the photo booth from him (see photos below) . Uplights warmed up our very bright white room. And everyone had so much fun at the photobooth when they were not dancing. -

Ben was the ultimate professional, he really listened to what we did and did not want, he catered to all age ranges as we requested, and by the end of the night everyone was dancing and complimented us on how awesome the music was! We heard about DJ Ben from our friends who had raving reviews. DJ Ben is professional and prepared and left us totally relaxed and confident in his abilities. We listened to his pre recorded sample mixes with friends in the months leading up to the wedding. Preparing for the day and I’m the day DJ Ben was perfect. He completely understood the music that we wanted. It was a blast! Book Ben now. It will be some of the best money you spend for your wedding. Each song change at the wedding I said “wow I love DJ Ben”. I said it at least 15 times during the night. -

Ben was great to work with. Right from the first conversation we knew we had found the right DJ. He was open to our input, understood that we didn't want cheesy music played, and didn't want the over-the-top DJ personality. Ben let us pick our favorite songs, and then he organized them into the perfect order to keep the guests dancing the whole time. He worked with us on the schedule of events, from the ceremony, the toasts, the first dances, etc, and was able to adjust on the fly when the kitchen needed a little extra time to get the food ready. I highly recommend Ben for any occasion. PS - Make sure you get the photo booth option, as this was the hit of the wedding and everyone loved it. -

Music was one of the most important parts of the entire wedding planning process to me, something I started working on before we even had a venue or a date. After two reschedules and a venue change due to COVID, by the time I went on my third DJ hunt, I was tired of searching and just wanted to find a DJ that would just take care of everything start to finish.
As soon as I was introduced to Ben, I felt 100% confident that he would be the right fit for us. I could not recommend Ben more — not only as a killer DJ, but as an extremely helpful, friendly and professional vendor. He was always available to take a call or answer a question, quickly and with great enthusiasm!
He’s organized, thorough and gave us tons of great tips and considerations that informed all parts of our wedding planning to make our and our guests’ experiences smooth and enjoyable. On the wedding day, Ben was super flexible and everything went off without a hitch. He executed all of our requests exactly and was an excellent MC for our speeches and toasts.
And the PARTY! Our guests are still raving days later about how much fun they had dancing. Especially after so many months of COVID, there was nothing better than the energy of leaving it all out on the dance floor and Ben delivered above and beyond.

DJ Ben was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was a great listener and very attentive to our wishes for our wedding reception. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Ben sat down with us (this was pre-COVID) and we talked about what we wanted from our wedding DJ. He tailored his approach and music to give us the wedding we wanted, not just the wedding he wanted to put on (though he definitely looked like he had fun that night!)
Everything he highlights about his professionalism is 100% true – no cheesy announcements, no cliché songs except the ones we specifically asked for, and he only allowed crowd requests when we said we were okay with it. He was down to party for as long as our crowd was. Ben was totally transparent (and reasonable!) on pricing and very clear on what we could expect from him on our wedding day. And then he delivered exactly what he promised. And on top of all of that, he was just so warm and inviting and pleasant to work with. I will recommend him to anybody I know who is even remotely talking about getting engaged. DJ Ben is the man!
