Perfect touch to our wedding!

Michael played at our 2/7/25 wedding. It was a beautiful touch to incorporate an extra hint of our Scot/Irish roots. He was very easy to work with, and a pleasure to have!

Michael came marching in playing lively Irish tunes and got the crowd clapping their hands and tapping their feet! He then played along with a track of AC/DC "It's A Long Way" and rocked it out to the Rock N Roll Bagpipes portion of the song! AMAZING!

Brought the perfect touch of Ireland to our wedding!

Michael and his wife were wonderful to work with. Super responsive and 100% made our day that much more special. I 100% recommend working with him, and is definitely worth the extra special touch at your ceremony.

Veterans Event

A true professional and master at his craft!
A year in the planning stage, months of arranging and coordinating key attendees, countless hours in the final details come down to a ceremony which plays out in 20 minutes!
The Monmouth Film Festival was proud to showcase a segment honoring Veterans at this years 2019 festival at The Two River Theater in Redbank NJ. In planning, it was unanimously agreed upon that amongst many concerns there is no greater element than the bagpipes. We were recommended to contact Mike Hannigan at NJBagpiper. From initial contact, it was evident that Mike and Denise are true professionals. They arrived at the event early, reviewed the itinerary made suggestions and ensured that all elements were in place. They acquainted themselves with the staff and crew, prepared, rehearsed and stepped onto the ceremony platform in the spirit of a seasoned professional and performed flawlessly to a group of Veterans, devout supporters, attendees, and curious onlookers.
It is without reservation that we highly recommend NJBagpiper Mike and Denise Hannigan.

Highly recommend!

We used Mike and NJ Bagpiper for our wedding reception. Having him outside the venue as guests arrived was such a great addition to our wedding. Mike and Denise were professional, easy to work with, and very accommodating and flexible. Mike was on time (even early!) and guests raved about his performance. We would highly recommend using them for your wedding.

Best Bagpiper I have ever heard!!!

Michael Hannigan performs every year at our Saint Patrick's Day party. He is the highlight of the night. He is beyond talented, best bagpiper I have ever heard and a wonderful person! You need NJ Bagpiper at your next event. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Amazing Addition to an Indian-Fusion Wedding

Michael and Denise are amazing! I called Denise with an inquiry for a bagpiper with about 5 weeks to go until the wedding. I was lucky that he was available, and luckier that he has played many Indian weddings in the past! From our initial call, I had no concerns that Michael would be the perfect addition to our baraat. My somewhat ambitious goal was to make this wedding a perfect mix of cultures and traditions, and Michael played a direct role in that. I am Indian, and now husban is Scottish and Native American. Denise recommended a dhol drummer that Michael had played with in the past, and we were able to secure him for our wedding as well. Our baraat was one of the most unique I've ever seen, with a bagpiper and a dhol drummer playing together in harmony alongside a huge parade of friends and family from both sides. We kept Michael a surprise for the groom's side of the family (and most of the wedding party), and it was well worth it for the reactions! The baraat was incredible and our guests will be talking about it for years to come! Thank you so much to Michael and Denise for helping us create some unforgettable memories through meaningful live music.

Three weeks before my wedding I found myself still without a bagpiper. I am SO thrilled I found NJ Bagpiper. Even though it was last minute, Michael and Denise were so accommodating! Denise was very communicative throughout and Michael was excellent! We had our wedding ceremony at Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach and Michael was outside as guests arrived playing beautifully. All of our guests told us that having the bagpiper was such a special plus and really made our wedding stand out! Definitely use NJ Bagpiper at your future events!

My husband and I hired Mike to play at our son’s wedding ceremony at Church of Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach last week. Unfortunately, It was raining, but Mike persevered through the rain before the ceremony. It stopped raining after and he played beautifully as guests were departing. Took pics with bride and groom. It was truly a special touch and a tribute to Irish heritage on both the bride and groom’s sides. I would highly recommend Mike for any affair!

Michael was absolutely fantastic. I wanted him to surprise my now husband by playing outside of the room where he was getting ready. Michael acknowledged every little detail and the surprise was a huge success. He did an amazing job playing during and after our ceremony. My husband and I had our wedding in March. The week of, we had a nor'easter with snow and then the day of the wedding it rained, so needless to say, the weather was not cooperating with us. I really wanted to add special touches to our day and many of them were weather permitting. I surprised my my husband and his side of the family with a bagpiper as a gift at the church where we were married. Mr. Hannigan played outside my church as guests arrived and left the ceremony while standing in the cold and misty rain for us for the entire duration. It was so important to honor my husband's family's heritage as a part of our big day. This was such a special touch. Extremely professional, friendly and talented.

With all of the anxieties that come with preparing for a wedding, it was a peace of mind to see the bagpiper at the church before the ceremony though he was scheduled to perform after the ceremony. It was good to know that 1 aspect of the wedding arrangements was going to take place as planned.

I contacted NJ Bagpiper to play at the church of our ceremony for our wedding. All I can say is that Mike and Denise were fantastic to work for, went above and beyond to make our ceremony perfect, and Mike was amazing the day of. I had wanted something a little bit different than normal. Denise was great to communicate with, she made sure she knew exactly what it was that I wanted and worked out the details with Mike. At first we weren't sure if we could work out what I had wanted and I appreciated the fact that Denise was honest with me and didn't promise anything that they may not have been able to deliver on. At the end of the day, Mike was able to do exactly what I had wanted and went out of his way to do so. So many of our friends and family members commented on how beautifully Mike played! I really can't thank Mike and Denise enough for helping make our wedding day absolutely beautiful and special for us.

NJ Bagpiper has worked with my organization for the past several years and they have always provided nothing, but the best service to us. Michael is a wonderful performer. I am the Director of Recreation for a senior care facility and we were lucky enough to have Michael perform for us. He was personable to both staff and residents and even was kind enough to visit residents individually who due to medical restrictions could not come out to the main recreation areas. His wife Denise is lovely to work with and is very prompt about getting to you right away with questions or concerns you may have. I 100 percent recommend him for your bag piper services!

Michael provided entertainment for my Dad's 80th Birthday party for a group of 50 people at St. Stephen's Green in Spring Lake, NJ. Dealing with Michael and his wife Denise was a delight from start to finish. Easy communication and wonderful services. Mike arrived early at the venue and waited until we were ready for him to come in. He was a surprise for my Dad and entered playing Happy Birthday on the bagpipes. He also played a variety of Irish, Celtic and familiar songs that everyone could enjoy. His skills were outstanding and you can tell Michael takes pride in the services he provides. Besides being talented, Mike was also very nice as well as accommodating and stayed much longer than contracted amount of time to take pictures with my Dad and the family. I was hesitant about getting a bagpiper online; however, he was amazing and I am so glad I found him. I expect to hire him for other family events in the future! If you hire him, you will not be disappointed.

Mike and Denise were very professional, courteous and flexible. My wedding was planned for the weekend after Hurricane Sandy hit. As I had to reschedule my wedding date, they worked with me and moved the date without penalty. I truly appreciate their friendliness too. And as if the music...absolutely beautiful!

Mike and his son Aidan were awesome!!! a week later, and we are still getting comments on how great the pipers were. They added that special flair to the ceremony that was unmistakable. Mike and Denise are super people to work with. My wife and I wish we had another affair on the boards that we could use his services!!!
My daughter's inlaws and family are of Irish heritage, with several guests at the wedding coming from Ireland for the wedding.
They were bowled over by the pipes and the pipers!!!
I would recommend Mike and Aidan without a moments hesitation, as they added that special something to my daughter's wedding day!!

I highly recommend hiring Mike for your event! He was accommodating to my musical requests for my wedding, very quick to respond to my emails, and was very professional the day of the event. I highly recommend Mike Hannigan, from NJ Bagpipers! He is absolutely amazing! I wanted to surprise my husband for our wedding ceremony and contacted his wife, Denise! She was wonderful to work with and put everything together to make this a memorable day. Mike totally blew everyone away with his talent! His performance was incredible!!! I will always remember my husband's beautiful reaction when he turned and saw Mike standing there with his bagpipes. We have heard so many compliments from our wedding guests. Thank you very much!

Michael is a very talented bagpiper, and his beautiful music on my daughter's wedding day was everything we hoped for, and more! His music, and his splendid authentic attire drew quite a crowd at the church before the wedding! The Middletown Arts Center was extremely fortunate to have Mike Hannigan play the bagpipes as part of a “Savor The Arts of Ireland” weekend. His performance was outstanding and added tremendously to our celebration of Irish culture.

In addition to being a talented and dedicated musician with an extensive repertoire, Mike is a consummate professional. It is delightful to work with someone who is so considerate and flexible. We highly recommend Mike and hope to have him back at the MAC again soon!

We had no idea that we would find a Bagpiper as great as Mike in NYC. We traveled from Scotland to NYC for our Wedding in Central Park and we did most of our wedding planning online, we really wanted to have a piper as being from Scotland this is tradition for every wedding, we contacted a few pipers who came back to us but with really high rates, we then found NJ Piper through a web search and contacted them. Denise (Mike's wife) emailed us back and she was really lovely and helpful, we agreed on a timescale and requested some specific songs for our ceremony. When we arrived on the day, Mike was fully kitted out even though it was 35 C heat and he did a grand job of entertaining our 20 guests before i arrived and a beautiful job of piping my chosen song for walking up to the venue. We had lots of pictures taken after the ceremony with Mike and Denise even took some stunning pictures of us during the ceremony and emailed to me a few days later. We would 100% recommend if you are looking for a piper for any occasion and he is definitely value for money.

This is the third year we have had Mr. Hannigan perform as the students enter school. He then parades through the school as the students line the hallways. Both the staff and students appreciate Mr. Hannigan's bagpiping abilities. It's always the highlight of the day. See you next year!

Mike played beautifully at our wedding in Jersey City. The process of booking him and working with his wife Denise to do so was seamless, and with very little direction Mike was able to make our event extra special. I would hire him again for any event without hesitation. Many guests commented on how wonderfully he played! We had always wanted a bagpiper to lead us out of our wedding ceremony. Michael and his wife Denise were great! Michael does the playing but Denise does all the planning and coordinating of the event. Denise is so responsive and professional. Having a bagpiper just added an extra little touch to our ceremony. Michael plays as the guests arrive and it was amazing. As I pulled up to the church, I could hear Michael playing from afar and it literally gave me chills. It was such a nice touch and everyone was talking about how cool it was that we had a bagpiper there. I would definitely recommend Michael! From the first contact I had with Mike and Denise they were very professional. They explained their charges, payments. When there was a possibility the birthday party being postponed due to family member health, they were agreeable to another date. Mike was prompt, courteous and neat appearance. He took his time for pictures, spoke to the people attending the party and explained his bagpiper outfit. Mike was the hit. I will refer him and if ever needed to hire again I would ask Mike.

Michael was absolutely AMAZING! I pulled up in my limo and Michael was already outside piping away, it bought a smile to my face immediately. My daughter was getting married to a very Irish fellow, and we thought it would be nice to have a bagpiper playing outside the church before (and after) the ceremony. We were very pleased with the effect and so were our guests!! When planning a wedding, it's all about the details, and our goal was to incorporate traditions from both families. The week before my daughters wedding she decided she would like to have bagpipes played before and after her wedding ceremony at church. I placed many phone calls to bagpipers I found online, not one returned my call. Then I came across a picture online of a man named Mike Hannigan. I placed the call, and much to my surprise I was told by his lovely wife that not only was he available to play, but he would be happy to be a part of our special day. His wife was kind caring and considerate and although I spent very little time with her on the phone I felt like I knew her a lifetime. As for Mike and the bagpipes, he was wonderful. Not only does he know his pipes but he was clean and neat. He made an impeccable appearance. As this was a surprise for my daughter, when she pulled up to the the church she cried hearing the beautiful sound Mike played from his pipes. So if your looking for someone who not only sounds great but looks like he stepped out of a bagpipers magazine, Mike Hannigan is the man for you. And his wife, whom I believe handles his bookings, was a pleasure.

Unforgettable and Amazing

Michael played the bagpipes at our Hindu ceremony and he was fantastic!! We wanted a fusion sound for the Baraat, Indian Groom's procession, since my husband is Irish American. Michael recommended an Indian dhol player (drummer), Neil, and the two created a fun, unique, celebratory sound. The crowd couldn't stop dancing and everyone had a blast! I needed a bag piper for my partners life celebration last minute. I spoke with Michael's wife Denise. She was very understanding, explaining everything to me. From the music to there fee. mike was great !!! i really appreciated that i reached out to Mike and his Wife Denise just a few days before our party and he was available to come . Made my mothers surprise party great all the gusts loved it !

The music was amazing, everyone loved it - and it was a surprise for my groom (he was thrilled!). Many guests told me they only see bagpipers at funerals, and it was lovely to have one for a happy occasion - I couldn't agree more, which is why I hired one!

hired them for several events and Mike was excellent. Highly responsive in all communication leading up to our events, easy-going, flexible, professional and performed wonderfully. Would recommend him to anyone in need of an Irish / Scottish Bagpiper.
