Above and beyond our expectations!
We hired "Nik Lite" for our 200 guest, rustic wedding in the Finger Lakes. We were so happy with the service we received in the months leading up to our wedding, and were THRILLED with their energy and performance on the day-of. I didn't see half of our guests because I spent most of the night dancing (my husband was a much better diplomat, but was right there with me most of the time). We willingly spent hours going through their extensive playlist, creating lists for "must play," "ok - but not our favorites," and "do not play" (music is important to us). It was clear to us from the start that they took the time to learn our likes and dislikes. Later in the night, a guest requested a song that was on our "do not play" list, and they politely explained to this person that it wasn't gonna happen. In a nutshell: we loved Nik Lite and so did our guests. The owner of our wedding venue, who has borne witness to many wedding bands and DJs, was super impressed and told us he will be recommending Nik Entertainment to future couples. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! -

Wow- Just WOW!!!
We had Nik Lite at our wedding and they were simply incredible! Music was one of the most important aspects of our wedding for us, so we were willing to spend a little bit more. As expected, bands cost more than DJs, but I cannot overstate how worth it that extra cost is to have talented musicians reading your crowd and bringing live entertainment to the reception.
First, leading up to the day they were extremely responsive to my questions and concerns regarding day of specifics. They were helpful in turning songs into mp3s to be played for our first dance, father-daughter, and mother-son dance, and hit every song we requested and then some! Our speeches ran a bit long, which made dinner run a bit long, but they were accommodating in still starting on time and doing some lighter dinner music as people ate.
Now the dancing, reception time itself- our wedding went until midnight and it the dance floor was PACKED the entire time. People who weren't big dancers were even out there, and if they weren't they didn't want to leave because they were finding so much enjoyment from just watching/listening to the band. I even had a friend who's getting married next year ask me who they were and said "I normally hate bands at weddings, but they are incredible! They have everyone out on the dance floor!" It was like we were at a concert. They read the crowd perfectly and provided music that people at every age enjoyed. I can't tell you how many people afterwards were calling asking who our band was and commenting how amazingly fun it all was.
I cannot recommend them enough. They made all of our wedding music dreams come true! -

Best wedding band ever!
Nik Lite is AMAZING! After listening to them at a friend's wedding, we hired them for our September 1 wedding. They were absolutely incredible!! Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. Nik Lite played a variey of music that appealed to all our wedding guests from young to old. Angie was super helpful throughout the booking and planning process. Any question we had was responded to right away. The survey and interview questions were much appreciated because it helped them know our preferences and style. We HIGHLY recommend NikLite! -

UNBELIEVABLE. This is the best band we've ever heard at a wedding. With our wedding being on News Years Eve, they kept the music going right up until the ball drop and counted down with us, while also keeping the party going until 1 a.m. They are highly energetic, and play great set list from the 60's all the way up to today's music. What a crowd pleaser! -

I can't recommend Nik Entertainment enough! We were planning our wedding from out of town so it was hard for us to see a band in person prior to reserving them for our wedding. We never saw Nik Lite before we selected them to perform at our wedding and that made me a little nervous at first. However, I couldn't have asked for a better band or have been more pleased with the results. Nik Entertainment made every step of the planning processes easy. They were extremely responses and had great answers to all of my questions. When the wedding came, the band exceeded my expectations, my now husband's expectations as well as our parents (who are not always the easiest to please). We still continue to get compliments from our guests on how great the band was and they had us up on our feet the whole night. Thank you for playing a part and helping our wedding be unforgettable!! -

My husband and I chose Nik Lite for our wedding and it was a fantastic choice. We were able to go see the band play before we made our decision. After we signed the contract, Nik worked with us to make sure everything was the way we wanted it for our big day. We went back and forth several times with Mark to make sure the playlist was perfect. He was very professional and helpful. We worked with Marty as our lead male vocalist and he made sure everything was set well before our wedding day so we didn't need to worry about anything on our day. After the dancing started, the dance floor was never empty. Even during their break, when the sound guy played music everyone stayed on the floor. They were a big part of making our wedding reception a fantastic party. Guests are still talking about them a month later! Chose Nik for a great time! -

We booked Nik Lite for my daughter's wedding. From the start of the process to the event, they were professional, responded to questions and requests and easy to work with. One of the potential logistic headaches planning an event with so many moving parts is getting quick answers - Nik was the best!
The event came off without a hitch, people were on the dance floor all night. The singers were phenomenal and high energy. All the guests had a great time. My daughter's quote "I may be biased but I think that's the best wedding reception I've ever been to".
Book them and rest assured of a great time! -

Nik Lite did a great job at our wedding and kept everyone dancing all night long! They even were a "DJ" for us during our ceremony when we used mp3 music which is above and beyond what they normal do. The only negative was they took an extra long break, so just be careful in your itinerary to look it over the timing. -

We had Nik Lite at our wedding, and they were phenomenal!! Mark was great to work with during the planning process, and the band was fantastic!! We were able to have a say in the songs that would be played, and could see the entire playlist and make any changes. All of our guests commented on how great the band was and people were on the dance for the whole night! They played a range of music that all of our guests loved!! -

Loved, loved, loved Nik Lite! What an amazing party atmosphere they brought to our wedding day. The musicians and performers were absolutely talented and professional. Wish we could book them for every party. Run, don't walk to book this band for your wedding or next event! -

My husband and I knew that we had to have Nik Lite for our wedding after we had attended a wedding in which Nik and the Nice Guys had performed. We are so glad that we did! From the very beginning, the staff was accommodating to work with while we planned the timeline and chose the Set List. The band had everyone on the dance floor from start to finish. People are still raving about how amazing Nik Lite was!
We also hired the solo pianist for our ceremony and cocktail hour. The pianist was wonderful and we could not have been happier with the service provided by Mark in the office to all of the performers on the day of our wedding. THANK YOU so much Nik Entertainment for making our special day even more memorable! -

Having Nik Lite perform at our wedding reception was a blast!!! They know how to get the party started (and keep it going!)!! They were flexible when our dinner ran long (as I know happens at many receptions) and played more low-key music per my request. Then as soon as my husband and I got up they switched to up-beat and fun music to get everyone on the dance floor. They were a real hit! Loved the whole night!! -

This band was awesome. From the time we booked them to the day of the wedding they were great. At the wedding they had everyone up and dancing and worked their butts off. I would very very highly recommend this band to anyone in the Finger Lakes/Rochester area. -

Nik and the Nice Guys were the absolute highlight of our wedding. We booked Nik Lite, and they were amazing. The entire process was a pleasure - we worked with Laura to work out all the details such as the timing, schedule, and song list. We reviewed every song on the list and knew exactly when it would be played. The band played ballads and love songs during dinner, followed by party music for the rest of the reception. They had so much energy and life - the dance floor has packed the entire night. We had a number of people tell us that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to, and we owe almost all of that to the band. They are worth every dollar, and they are such a bargain compared to other bands. Would definitely recommend! -

Best wedding band EVER! They sent a detailed packet to me prior to the wedding planning all the songs, dances, announcements, etc. They were an exciting and engaging band and were also great musicians. They played at my sister's wedding as well and were fantastic then too! LOVE this band! -

We had the smaller version (Nik Lite) preform at our wedding and I was very impressed. I have never had so much fun! They had everyone including my grandparents out on the dance floors. They even got in the middle of the fun and had my guests singing. It was a great time. Everyone stayed at the reception until the end because they were having so much fun dancing. I have received many compliments about the band and I highly reccommend them! -

I lost count of how many people aske me where I got the band and that it was best wedding they had ever gone to because of the band. They were worth every penny and more my guests didn't want them to stop the dance floor was packed the entire night and people from the wedding in the room next to mine came over to hear the band!!! DJ's are ok but Nik and the Nice guys made my wedding great!!!!! -

We had the 11-piece Nic and the Nice Guys for our wedding and they were OUTSTANDING! We had so much fun on the dance floor. The band interacted well with the crowd and our guests didn't want the music to stop when the event was over. We had a mixed crowd - with ages ranging from 7 to 87 - and EVERYONE danced! -

Book Nik Lit and you're guaranteed a rockin' reception or party. We booked them for our June 27 wedding and they made our reception extremely memorable. We thought long and hard about spending the extra money for a band versus a DJ and decided to go with Nik Lit, primarily because they are an established name in the Rochester, NY area. They are one of many bands under the Nik Entertainment banner. Members of Nik Lit can change, depending on who is available, which was a bit disconcerting at first. But it's nothing to be concerned about. We ran late due to pictures after the ceremony, and they agreed to play late. We wanted to take pictures with the wedding party with the band, and they quickly agreed. I strongly recommend this band! -

We booked Nik Lite for our wedding - they were awsome!!! They were flaxable and traveled down to Corning for our reception - the sound was incredible - people are still talking about our reception 6 years later!! A must-get ....SO worth the money!!! -

We had Nik Lite play our wedding reception and they were amazing! I can't even count how many people came up to me to tell me how great the band was. They were extremely professional to deal with and very responsive during the planning process. At the reception, they were so interactive and so much fun it was like we had a private concert just for us! We shut the dance floor down by the end of the night. They were so good, other people staying at the hotel where we had our reception (complete strangers) would stand by the door to the ballroom signing and dancing along. Good music was really important and boy did Nik Lite deliver. They are slightly more expensive than some other local bands, but boy are they worth it. You will not be disappointed. We had a blast! -

Being 25, I wasn't sure about having a band at our wedding. I thought it was a bit old school, but my mom insisted. Nik Lite was AMAZING. Our guests were on the dance floor before dinner was served! They were so much better than a cheesy DJ. They played a wide range of music, suiting the older and younger crowd alike. The band was flexible in our requests. Pricey, but worth it! -

Great band
We had Nik Lite at our wedding since my in-laws had seen them at a wedding before and highly recommended them. I had never been to a wedding with a band instead of a DJ so I was nervous, but it worked out great. I found that there was a lot of paperwork required before the wedding since Nik Entertainment Co. is so large and I was not a fan of that, but Angie was great to deal with throughout the planning process and was always quick to respond to my emails. The band was very professional and easy to deal with, they did an excellent job of keeping all the events of the night moving and had everyone up and dancing throughout the reception. The variety of music they play is perfect for weddings. We were very happy with our experience. -

Great music but awful to work with
I put off writing this review for a few days after the wedding, not wanting to give a knee jerk assessment, but my frustration hasn't really subsided. To summarize, they think of your wedding as a gig where guests are coming to see them which is an awful view for any wedding vendor to hold.
Leading up to the wedding they were difficult to communicate with. There is a reason we are emailing, and its so we can have a record of the things discussed and decisions made. But the responses we would get were "Call my cell at any time". That's frustrating, made even more so when frequently no one would answer and the voicemail was full.
Fast forward to the day of, we come in for our first dance after being announced and see that the band isn't oriented in the direction we asked so the dance floor was incredibly cramped. The bride and day-of coordinator talk to the band after our first dance and they say that they will need 45 minutes to move the equipment and do another sound check. That is 45 minutes of their scheduled 4 hours of play time that was wasted. But the real kicker was that they then set up in the wrong place...AGAIN. When the day-of coordinator pointed this out, they were rude to her and said they wouldn't be moving again. So then they played for ~30 minutes and then it was time for their originally scheduled break which they happily took.
I don't have anything bad to say about the music they played. It was quite good and the guests enjoyed it, but this prima-donna attitude left a real sour taste in the mouth. I think they could really benefit from a non-band-member at the events coordinating and keeping things organized on their end. I wouldn't recommend this group without at least including a warning.
You are providing a service to enhance a wedding. These are not fans following you around on tour. -

I have to admit it hurts to write this review but just have to give a heads up to anyone booking with Nic and the NIce Guys or Nic Lite as we did. The band was fun and we had a good time but they ruined our first dance. We had spent a considerable amount of money taking dance lessons and put in 6 months to get it right and when it came to the dance itself, whoever was running the soundboard for Nic Lite ruined the moment. Halfway through the song he channeled the music down and then turned it off completely. At no time did we ask them to do this, we provided an ipod for them to use to play the music and there was nothing wrong with the song. It definitely soured the day for us. We reached out to Nic Lite as well, to let them know and got no response or apology from them at all. So even though the band was fun and did a good job, there is no way we could recommend them. If you want to be stressed and distracted at your reception, do not hire this band. If you don't read on for the details here is the moral of the story: they play good music, but are a total nightmare to work with the night of. After all the hard work, planning, and more importantly the true meaning of the day, the last thing a couple should have to do is to give them step by step instructions that were already set weeks ahead of time, have the lead singer at your head table multiple times during dinner, have someone ensure that they don't drink at the bar, remind them of your names when they forget them during introductions, have a band that takes triple (no exaggerations) the amount of breaks than scheduled, and loses personal property that they required to begin with.
I cannot express enough how much of a cloud was put over our reception because of the behavior of this band.
After hiring them, the process was easy and organized- which all changed dramatically the day of the wedding. It began at the time of announcements, just minutes before we were to be announced, when the lead singer came out to gather the names of everyone he would be announcing and what songs we wanted him to play. When I reminded him that we already gave him this information he pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and walked away. The groom's parents and the first couple walked out to no music at all. Then, during dinner, the band attempted to take a break at least five times (they are only scheduled 2, 20 minute breaks total. One was to be half way through dinner, the other during a dance performance). My husband had to stop them each time and remind them of the timing on the contact.
