    Nesselrod was Amazing!

    I highly recommend this venue. My daughter was married at and had her reception at Nesselrod. Jeff was a pleasure to work with and so helpful and accomodating from our initial meeting with him. He provided a list of vendors he had worked with previously and the DJ, photographer and caterer we selected from the list were all wonderful. The ceremony location is beautiful with trees and gazebo. The house was perfect for getting ready for the wedding. The bride, bridesmaid and mothers were there and it was a lovely and relaxed setting with enough space for us all to be comfortable. Jeff provided a delicious breakfast and arranged for lunch I had ordered to be picked up and delivered. The photos in the house of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready are stunning because the house is so beautiful. Jeff was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend Nesselrod as an event space or place to stay.

    The Best We’ve Worked With!

    Nesselrod on the New was by far the best venue we worked with. After having our first venue back out and steal money from us we were in a hard spot. We met with Jeff at Nesselrod and he made our day possible. Jeff worked with us on prices, dates, and everything in between. His team allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams. I can not recommend this place enough. The venue is beautiful year around and the service is unbelievable!

    Exceeded our Expectations!

    Words cannot begin to describe how thankful we are that we chose Nesselrod on the New for our wedding venue. Jeff worked so hard to make sure our special day was perfect and far exceeded our expectations. The venue is so beautiful and spacious. We would highly recommend Nesslerod on the New for any event. You will not be disappointed.

    Nesselrod was Beautiful

    The venue was beautiful, quiet, and accommodated all of our guests! The house was the perfect place for everyone to get ready and relax before the ceremony. The owner was incredibly helpful and worked very hard to make sure we all had the perfect day. I highly recommend this venue for anyone who is looking for a peaceful place to get married in any season!

    2 sides to every story

    This owner is now making us out to have been difficult when that is absolutely not the case. We intended to have our wedding on a Saturday in July and have only the ceremony at Nesselrod, which is right smack in the middle of wedding season (not an off day) and he quoted us $800. We then decided to change it to a weekend in October instead and have both the ceremony and reception and he bumped it up to $1,100. We were never told anything about packages. Just like he told us he wouldn’t be booking guests in the B&B, he also told us we could use both the veranda and pavilion at our consultation. He said, and I quote, “you guys can have the whole place to do whatever you want. I don’t care as long as you don’t tear the place up” so we had planned to have the cocktail hour in the veranda and then the reception under the pavilion but when he sent us the invoice it only said veranda. He then suggested we have our reception under the pavilion due to lack of space for all the tables in the veranda so I told him we had planned to use both BECAUSE HE TOLD US WE COULD. I also specially remembered signing a contract when we paid for the venue and then when I asked for a copy of it after he cancelled, he told me he didn’t do physical contracts and all electronic ones get locked up after signing so we couldn’t have a copy and now he’s saying there is a contract and we just didn’t sign it?? Why would he have even let us book the venue without signing the contract? He’s also now apparently blaming us because HE was letting us have our wedding there for cheap and other brides were questioning him about being charged so much? Like Jeff said, there are 2 sides to every story. I think this obviously shows how disorganized and unprofessional this man is.

    This was unfortunate and we hated to cancel this weeding but feel we made the correct decision given the circumstances. We do everything possible to make sure our couples are happy with having their wedding at Nesselrod.

    1….This couple originally indicated they wanted an OFF-Day booking and were having 30 guests or less. So we priced them with our Micro (Basic) package.
    2…They then requested to change their wedding day to an October Saturday (significantly more expensive) and we did NOT raise the price on them (our first mistake).
    3…Their wedding package included our back Veranda for their reception. We later told them that we would move it to the Pavilion, again more expensive, in case weather was not cooperating. (Our 2nd mistake). This couple began planning to use both the Veranda and Pavilion.
    4…We do plainly indicate that all our guest rooms will be available all day for preparation for weddings of 50 people or more. This is not the case for our Micro & Petite packages. Because we are a business, on weekends of Micro & Petite weddings, the rooms are available from 11am to 4pm because we do keep our Bed & Breakfast open.
    5…An electronic contract was provided to this couple but was never signed and we did not press this issue (our 3rd mistake).
    6…We received phone calls several days prior to this wedding from other future brides questioning why they were paying significantly more money for a wedding that this couple were getting for a 1/4 of the price. Both weddings did cancel on us understandably.

    It was at this time we felt it necessary to cancel this wedding so that we could maintain the integrity of our pricing structure and prevent being taken advantage of.

    7…We did issue this couple a FULL REFUND.

    We recommend you contact any of our past brides to get a better understanding of how we do everything we can to make their wedding day great. Ask as many questions as you can for any venue or vendor. Do your best to stick with your original decisions for your wedding. What could be perceived as a small change, can make your wedding day far more challenging for venues and vendors.

    Lastly, consider that there are 2 sides to every story. Do not let one review keep you from contacting us.
