From candid, to posed, to sweet, and funny shots, Niel is a fabulous photographer and professional. Related to the guests of every age. Makes everyone comfortable and laughs. Barely realized he was there because he was so good and blending in to get the best photos of our best day ever. My biggest issue is I have 1448 photos in my gallery and I am having a hard time choosing!

One of a kind memories. Professional, kind, and accommodating service!
After going through the photos from our wedding I'm happy to say that not a moment was missed. There were even a few that I forgot! We laughed and cried all over again.
Weddings involve a lot of moving parts and I have to admit that I never truly appreciated how much of a difference having an organized photographer would make. From the first time we talked on the phone and throughout the entire wedding I felt like we were in good hands. Neil and his team both listened to our requests and made suggestions where they felt they could help enhance the quality of our day (not just our photos).
Neil and his team were incredible and we’d hire them again if we had to do it all over again!

Neil is absolutely FABULOUS!!
We found Neil Shannon Photography through our wedding venue. They were listed as a preferred vendor along with a few other photographers. We decided to give them all a call, but we knew IMMEDIATELY after speaking to Neil that he would be our photographer. He was funny, nice and HONEST. The pricing was very reasonable and we had seen and loved the work that he had done. We worked with him for our engagement shoot and had THE BEST time. He made it so much fun and captured SO many sweet moments in just a short amount of time. Then on wedding day, he was absolutely incredible. We were never rushed, we were on time all day long, and he is honestly just such a joy to work with. He really made it so much fun, listened to what we wanted and what was important to us, and he made it happen / made it the most perfect day! We CAN'T WAIT to get our pictures back. We know they are going to be absolutely beautiful.

Neil did our maternity photos and we cannot be happier with the pictures!! He was great in communicating the details before the shoot, and helping us pick the perfect location. A few weeks ago, my daughter got married on St. Pete Beach and we used Neil Shannon Photography for this special event. Last week, we received the pictures and were amazed at the beauty of the photographs. The photos Neil took were so romantic and beautiful. He captured the most amazing pictures of the wedding party as the sun was setting in the background. Neil was amazing at both our engagement and wedding. I'm not a big fan of pictures but he worked with us and was so patient and helpful in making the whole process seamless. Neil was exceptional!!!!! I am so glad my daughter chose him. Not only was he professional, prompt, and had a great personality but the quality of his work was better than I ever expected. Best choice for photographer !!
My husband and I are so happy with our decision to choose Neil as our photographer! Neil did an incredible job getting thousands of pictures for our wedding. Neil captured all of our wedding pictures (family, bridal and couple) after ceremony with plenty of time considering time restraints of sunset. Neil was beyond impressive as he got more then plenty as he knew exactly what shots to take where as he constantly assessed the sunset, lighting, etc. We also had about 140 guests and Neil (and his assistant he provided that day to ensure we had all the amazing shots) did a great job at capturing all of our guests during the reception having a great time ! They got amazing shots and were not intrusive as we enjoyed the night. Here are some of our sunset pictures and honestly we can’t pick any favorites since we love them all ! We highly recommend Neil Shannon Photography. It can be overwhelming decision to decide who to hire to capture all these amazing moments of your special day, Neil will not disappoint and will surpass your expectations !

Truly the best!
Neil came recommended by our DJ. From looking at his website and talking on the phone, we knew he was who we wanted from the start and definitely the best decision we could have made! Wedding at the Grand Plaza Hotel 06/17/2018
I first want to thank Neil (and Shannon) for being so accommodating and agreeing to do my wedding, even though it was on Father's Day. It meant a lot to me and my husband. I love pictures, and wanted my wedding day photos to be the best. I was worried (just like I assume everyone is on their wedding day) that he might not take enough of them, not capture the right moments, or that they might not come out good. Boy was I wrong! The pictures he took were spectacular, and he captured every moment of the most important day of my life so beautifully. He knows what he is doing, and it shows-he knew exactly what time to take pictures, where to take them, and how long to spend for each to get the most out of the beach and sunset. He also sent me almost 900 beautiful photos. He has a great sense of humor, and you feel comfortable with him right away. He is the perfect photographer, and I would recommend him to everyone-there's a reason he is on the preferred vendors list of many of the top hotels-he is the best! Once again, thank you Neil for taking such beautiful pictures that will last forever.

No better photographer in Florida!!
When we looked at Neil’s work, we were sure he would do a phenomenal job. He was very highly recommended and we decided to hire him. When we met him and did our engagement photo shoot, we were blown away at the quality of his work, his attention to detail, and his knowledge of photography in general; he know how, where and when to shoot, and how to get the most of every shot. When it came time for our wedding day, he was extremely thorough and focused. He worked hard to get great shots at many places, with many filters, angles, and color schemes. He worked tirelessly from morning to dusk, covering everything he could. With his assistant, they both captured the magic of the happiest day of our lives for us to cherish and treasure for. We can’t recommend Neil Shannon Photography enough, he will go so much more than above and beyond for what you need, and you will absolutely love the results.

Neil was very knowledgeable about the venue we had our wedding at - The Grand Plaza. It was one of the main reasons we choose him. Having a destination wedding was stressful, but knowing that he knew all the "good spots" for pictures helped ease the stress. Getting married in St. Pete? I HIGHLY recommend Neil Shannon Photography! I'm a few months late on writing my review, but we got married at The Grand Plaza in January and Neil came highly recommended from the entire staff at the hotel. I am SO happy I went with (all of) their referral(s). The weather didn't cooperate very well with us on our big day. Sunny and 75 the day before and the day after - but in the 40s, cold, gloomy and windy on our wedding day. We decided to roll with it and still have our beach wedding, and I am so happy we did. Despite the weather, we had a blast - and Neil captured every single moment of it. The most important part out of the whole day: he made sure I never felt stressed out. We had a few mishaps, such as grandparents going inside when we were supposed to be taking pictures, so Neil quickly and seamlessly would change directions by snapping other photos while some of the party went to search from them. Despite the weather, we still did some pictures of us and with our bridal party outside too, and it was surprisingly fun! We would all huddle together to get warm while Neil gave us instructions on what to do next. As long as you listen to what he says to do, he'll do a killer job! You can't even tell we were FREEZING in half of our pictures :) He was also great with kids and got a lot of pictures of my nephews and little cousins throughout the night that my entire family will cherish forever. His editing skills are pretty incredible, too. As mentioned, it was quite gloomy outside, but Neil was able to brighten and edit the photos that made it look perfect. And, he doesn't edit a few, he edits all of them - and turns them around quickly. We had all nearly 2,000 photos back within three weeks. I know brides who have waited months for theirs. We feel so lucky to have worked with Neil, and are excited to work with him again later this year to try to capture sunset portraits. To all the brides and grooms out there reading this - book Neil. He makes things so easy, is a pleasure to work with, and knows exactly how to capture your special day in the most perfect way.

Fantastic Pics!
First of all, the pictures taken by Neil were outstanding especially the sunset pictures! We couldn’t be happier! On our wedding day, Neil arrived plenty early and made a point to make us comfortable while keeping it fun. Neil is very efficient and professional and one can tell he has been doing this a very long time. He works well with big wedding parties getting everyone in place quickly while also allowing for goofy shots. Couldn’t imagine using anyone else!

We just received Our wedding photos and cannot say enough praise to Neil Shannon for such beautiful photographs!! As I look through the photos I am in such Awe of how Neil captured the most precious and special moments for us.
His professionalism and experience was apparent from the first knock on the door. He made everyone feel comfortable and he was so much fun and flexible to work with.
It is obvious that he is greatly experienced with his craft after looking at our amazing photos! His attention to detail and knowing timelines was perfect as our sunset photos on the beach were spectacular!!!! Neil Shannon was my wedding photographer and he did an absolute AMAZING job! He is very detailed and has a specific routine to his photography madness so he knows exactly how the day will flow and he will tell you exactly what needs to be done and the exact order of events so you won't be lost. Our pictures were so effortless! The way he described me and the whole wedding party to pose for pictures was very easy to understand, he is very good with children too! My flower girl is 2 years old and you know they can get fussy after a long period of time, well she started getting fussy and he knew exactly what to do to get a big smile and even a giggle out of her! He even got my brother-in-law and brother to smile for pictures- they never smile! On the wedding day, things don't go according to plan and certain people who need to be in pictures go missing- or are up at cocktail getting their drink on and we have to find them, or there were times when we needed to be somewhere at a certain time and we were totally late but Neil Shannon was very accommodating and was so nice about everything! My pictures look BEAUTIFUL and he told me it would take about 2-3 weeks for him to get all of my pictures to me- I got them all back in just over 1 week!!! I 10/10 would recommend him he was the BEST!

If you want to enjoy your wedding day, definitely pick Neil Shannon Photography. It's just that simple! My daughter's wedding was in January 2018, and from the moment we contacted Neil (nine months earlier), through the entire ceremony and reception, we felt absolutely no worries. Neil is so experienced and professional, he immediately took the reins and had everyone (including nine Bridesmaids and nine Groomsmen) knowing exactly what to do, and kept things flowing throughout the day. We received the proofs in a few weeks and were thrilled with the results! He has a knack for getting the best angle for each pose, including instructions of how to not squint (no furrowed brow) when the sun is in your eyes. When planning my wedding, I knew that the photographer was the most important thing for me because I love pictures and was excited to have my day captured to remember forever. I was so impressed with Neil. He truly is amazing. Before the wedding, he went over the timeline with me so I knew what to expect. Then on the day of the wedding, he was so efficient with the pictures but yet took so many different shots! I have been in weddings where it seemed like it took forever to get the pictures completed. But not with Neil, he had a schedule and quickly took photos with the best backgrounds, poses, and natural shots. Neil was also personable! I just got the pictures and they are amazing...especially capturing the sun setting perfectly! Everything was perfect. He captured all of the special little moments that I had wanted plus more! My daughter got married July 21, 2017 at the Grand Plaza. We are from Illinois and relied on reviews and recommendations for our vendors. The pictures were more important to me than anythimg else. I was very nervous to trust this special day to just anyone. Neil came highly recommended and after talking with him, i knew why. He was absolutely amazing. My wedding was 6/17/17 at the Grand Plaza in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Being someone who HATES to take pictures and always hates how I look in them, I couldn't believe how much I loved EVERY picture I received back!! (Plus, we received our pictures back within 3 weeks!) What I loved most about working with Neil was that he was so professional and made sure the entire wedding stayed on track. The day before the wedding, Neil gave me an itinerary of when he would arrive, what time he would be in the bridal suite to take getting ready pictures, and what time the boys should expect him in their suite to take pictures. With every picture he took, he told us exactly how to pose and what would look best. My favorite photos are the beautiful sunset photos he took. Definitely recommend!!

we are from Illinois and had a really tough decision to make about the photographer. WE picked Neil and it was the best decision which we made. Our sunset pictures are more than perfect and as a proof you can check my profile one ( made by Neil). Our wedding coordinator ( Kate Finan from Grand PLaza HOtel) had Neil's picture in her office , so when i saw it I had to ask her if she can give us a name of the photographer. He was the perfect amount of pushy and kind which is what is needed at a wedding to make sure you have pictures for a lifetime. He was INCREDIBLE with the kids in our wedding. We spoke to a few photographers and my husband use to be a photographer before it all went digital so he was picky in terms of who we went with. Neil came recommended by our venue (Grand Plaza) and he did not disappoint. From the first phone call I had a good feeling about him because he took the time to talk to me about what type of photos we want etc as opposed to other photographers who just listed off what their fee covered. So we paid the deposit and booked him. Neil called me a few days before the wedding to talk through a few things and take note on anything we wanted to capture. He arrived the day of and was so organised. He is very easy to work with and a pleasure to have there with us. We got our photos back a couple of weeks ago and honestly I was waiting for the right words to come to me to write a review but there's nothing that I can say that will do him justice. The photos are amazing. I could hardly believe they were our photos, some of them looked like cut outs from a magazine - I don't mean that in terms of us looking good I mean the moments he caught and the way he used the sun set in them. Please please don't hesitate to speak to him, he sent us that many great photos that we don't even know where to start with picking which ones to hang up in the house without it looking like a gallery lol! The other side of working with him is our daughter has autism and he had SO much patience with her and for that we were so thankful. He is a gentleman and really knows his job so well, if you want to be guaranteed that you'll be happy with your wedding photos - he is the one!

He prompt responded to any questions i had, was extremely reassuring and professional. The day of the wedding he was on time, helped to enforce the schedule of the day and kept everyone engaged. He was creative with our photographs and was open to using ideas outside of his plan. He blends in in such a way that you hardly know he is there. His dynamic style, "Ninja Photography" produced pictures far beyond our expectations. Neil is THE MAN! Our sunset photographs are absolutely breathtaking. Neil was fun to work with, professional, and had impeccable ideas on what shots to take when. His prices were very reasonable, and his work was second-to-none. We came to St. Pete Beach from Detroit to get married, and having one less thing to worry about was invaluable. Neil was always available when we had questions, he explained things thoroughly, and delivered exactly what he promised. I cannot say enough good things about him. We absolutely love Neil! He was kind, professional, and thoughtful. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. He eased my mind with families that do not mingle well together. He was able to get all the perfect pictures with every combination of family with no hesitation. His photography was amazing but that is not the most memorable part of our night together. My wife and I just got married at the Grand Plaza hotel on St. Pete beach on 3/5/16 and also did engagement photos with Neil. As you might imagine I consider myself an awkward person who can not be photographic in the least bit, my wife and I were a tad nervous. Both our engagement and wedding photos came out phenomenal. Neil is very comfortable to work with and is able to get the perfect picture. They were very flexible with our hectic schedule and we received our pictures rather quickly. I highly recommend Neil and Shannon for your wedding. The photographer was one thing we didn't have to stress about.

Neil did such an amazing job with our pictures!!! We got married 2-13-16 on Saint Pete Beach, FL and our reception was inside at the Sirata Beach Resort. I love every single one of my pictures! He took a lot of creative shots that were not cheesy or fake looking! He did a great job with editing and we had them back in just a couple weeks! You get to keep all of your pictures and it is very easy to download them. For a one man show, Neil was able to zoom around quickly from one place to another to get the perfect shot every time! There was no need for two photographers. He is very patient and he knew how to keep everyone involved and having fun. I would highly recommend his services!

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! When you're wedding day is over, and you are trying to recall the events of the ceremony and reception, you quickly realize that it was a blur... Our wedding photos are the only way to relive the occasion. Neil Shannon Photography made sure that we didn't miss a moment! Neil met with us, answered all of our questions, and truly left an impression on us that the memories of our day were as important to him as they were to us. He was the first person to arrive, even prior to the wedding party, and he was taking pictures from the moment we arrived. He snapped over 1200 pictures when it was all said and done, from the bride getting ready to the last dance and our goodbye. The quality and color of the pictures are great and the views, places he chose for the shots, and the way he captured a fading sun to ensure we had an amazing backdrop, truly made for spectacular photos! He also had a few creative ideas of his own for shots of the rings, pics of all reception guests, and some unique perspectives and camera angles that really made for awesome photos. His ability to take photos without the subjects knowing they were being taken made for some great, natural shots that perfectly capture the emotion of the moment! I recently got married at the Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort on St. Pete Beach, FL and Neil Patel, owner of Neil Shannon Photography, was the photographer we had the privilege of working with for our ceremony and reception. Neil was nothing short of outstanding -- he was very professional and prompt to reply during the planning phase, as was his wife Shannon. He went above and beyond by shooting some requested glamour/boudoir photos prior to putting on my wedding dress in our getting ready room. Neil was extremely professional and I was always accompanied by at least one other adult at any time he was photographing me. I felt very comfortable around him and he took away some of my nervousness as the big moment was getting closer. Neil was very organized, knowledgeable, and a good listener when it came to family and bridal party photos. He captured all of the photos we wanted, with two pretty large families! He also worked very well alongside our DJ, Joe Lorenzo from Expert Productions, to photograph moments with music like cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss, and more. Neil captured lots of photos during our reception and wasn't in a hurry to head out when people started dancing. He was FUN! He also has a fabulous relationship with the Grand Plaza which was extremely convenient for the flow of everything on the wedding day -- he was very familiar with the getting ready room, ceremony and reception locations, which made much less communication confusion! Neil Shannon Photography is definitely worth their price tag. Thank you to Neil and his wife Shannon for making our special day so memorable! We're going to have beautiful photos to remind us of our special day throughout our entire lives!

He described his photography style as "ninja-like",and that he was! He was everywhere, capturing absolutely every moment of the day. He was there from the beginning and stayed until the very end! What a pleasure!! Neil was so nice and professional from our first introduction. He was already at the venue waiting for me and my bridal party to arrive so he could shoot the venue and our decor. He had the entire wedding planned out from top to bottom and directed us on what he would like to shoot and when. It is amazing because as the bride I was able to relax and Neil took the weight off my shoulders. He started by shooting me alone, my dress, shoes, bridesmaid's dresses, final touch ups, and then he went to shoot the men preparing for the ceremony. It was so fun, smooth, and organized!! After the ceremony he got amazing shots of me, the groom, family, and bridal party in so many different poses. Once the reception started he was everywhere shooting our guests and continued to capture tons of great shots! He was there all the way to grand exit. He made the night very memorable and comfortable for everyone. Thank you SO much for making our evening so amazing :) If you want an awesome, high energy, and organized photographer choose Neil!! Mike and I had met Neil at Barnes and Noble after writing a brief Facebook post and asking people who they suggest and Neils name was mentioned more than 5 times, so i thought man he must be great. Well as soon as we met him he was instantly the guy for us. So well organized and really thoughtful about finding out what exactly we wanted and what kind of pictures we wanted taken. he was on time on wedding day and really got things feeling real as soon as he walked through the door. When we booked Neil Shannon photography for our wedding, we were intrigued by “dynamic Ninja photojournalism” … whatever could this be? We met and spoke with Neil several times to prepare exactly the sort of wedding photos that we wanted. But all of the preparation could not prepare us for how amazing Neil would be … he was right on time, and kept things on time … he was EVERYWHERE throughout the preparation, ceremony, and reception. He was creative and had fun with every shot … both planned and unplanned. And, did we mention that he is hilarious? We have been to many weddings, but have never heard that many people asking about the photographer, and noting how wonderful he was. We had used Neil for our wedding, he was amazing and very personable. Neil was able to calm the wedding nerves when it came down to the end, in his words "ill take the stress off of you, and make sure things run smoothly, because if things get messed up your pictures won't show you looking happy" and he did just that. He truly was the "Ninja" photographer taking pictures in the most candid ways, making the reception pictures that much better, catching the moments. Most of all his professional manor and talent show in all of his work and he worked very well with the DJ's and our Videographer. With all being said, Neil and his wife run a great company and are very reasonable when it comes to the price for the amount of work and talent he brings to the table. He had our pictures back to us very quick, within 2 weeks. We are very impressed with our pictures and couldn't be any happier. We would with out a doubt use Neil Shannon photography for other events and have already recommended to our friends.

We selected Neil as our photographer (out of state, mind you) due to the simple fact that he is the best in the business! His website is a great representation of the high quality work he does. We could not be happier with our decision to hire Neil! He is awesome - takes charge, kept us on schedule, made sure we got the shots we wanted and was a lot of fun! Neil's style is photo-journalistic, he captured many special moments that we did not realize he was taking photos. His energy was fantastic on the day of the wedding - positive and upbeat..... just what I needed. He is spontaneous and creative.... and we were the perfect people - he took shots that seemed like they just came to his mind. Some shots were the typical wedding photos, but many were different and showcased me and my husband's personalities.
His wife edits the photos and she is very talented! They delivered tons of photos - completely blew us away! The pics do not look like everyone else's pictures, many unique shots were captured!! Overall, Neil and Shannon are excellent and we highly recommend them.

My now husband and I had heard wonderful things about Neil Shannon, and he was recommended by our venue, The Rusty Pelican. After doing some research and talking with him via email we met with him at the open house and signed him on the spot. We talked with him before the wedding to make sure everything was still ok and to get an idea of what we wanted and any specifics for the day. Day of the wedding he was on time and I will say while I was worried because at time things felt rushed, I was worried for no reason. Not only did we get TONS and TONS of pictures, but they are amazing. He truly knows exactly what he is doing. We have great "typical" wedding photos and lots of wonderful candid's from throughout the day. He added some filters to some of the photos as well, but nothing the distracted from the pictures. We are so excited to share these photos and create our album. We are allowed to chose 40 and that will be tough. It was a great day and we have great photos to remember it always.

After interviewing a few different photographers my fiancee and I realized that Neil really has a passion for what he does, so it was clear to us that we wanted him as our photographer for our wedding. In my mind I had set the bar very high in terms of what I wanted to see when looking back through all of the photos of our wedding, and let me tell you, Neil exceeded all of those expectations. His ability to capture the candid moments as well as the formals was amazing, and the picture quality we received is off the charts in terms of clarify, color and resolution. The day of the wedding he was there early to capture everyone getting ready and had no issues with traveling back and forth (we got ready at the reception hall, traveled to the church for the ceremony, and then back to the reception hall for the party). Neil is great at capturing all of the moments without being intrusive, at times we forgot he was even there at all. I cannot say enough good things about Neil, do yourself a favor and stop looking through pages and pages of photographers. Just set up an interview with Neil, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I hired Neil for our engagement session and our wedding. When we first met with Neil at the Barnes and Noble a year prior to our wedding, we instantly knew he was the photographer for us! He had so much energy and knew our venue from working there for many years. He made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. On our wedding day, he arrived in the bridal suite 2 hours before our wedding, and took such great pictures! My favorite photos were the ones he took of my dad and I, where he did a "first look" and really captured the moment! After he did the bridesmaids, he took some great photos of the groomsmen at the Rusty Pelican. We were married outside on the water, and with the sunset in the background, our pictures were more than we could ever have asked for! He did some absolutely beautiful effects with some pictures, and really captured every aspect of our wedding. He also took pictures of different ideas that I had as a bride, which turned out great. At our reception, he captured every moment for all of our guests! We loved working with Neil, he had such a positive energy and made us laugh throughout the whole wedding. He was good friends with our DJ, so we called them the "dynamic duo" throughout the night, because they worked together and captured our cake cutting, bouquet and garter tosses and toasts so great. The best thing was that we felt so comfortable with Neil and you can tell that in our photos. He really captured our personalities. We received our pictures in 3 different forms, with 2 online sites and then a zip drive with all of our photos. I highly recommend hiring Neil, as your pictures will be stunning. We would use him again in a heartbeat to capture every part of our special day!

Whenever I had any questions, he always replied my email at the earliest convenience. We decided to go with Neil after previewing work from four different vendors with the Rusty Pelican Tampa, FL. Neil's work is a reflection of the many years he has spent as a wedding photographer and we are so pleased with his work. The reasonably priced package we chose included engagement photos which were promptly delivered to us and beautifully mastered. He uses excellent equipment, latest technology, and gave us full rights to all of our photos. About 3 weeks after our wedding on November 3rd, 2013, we received a thumb drive with all of our engagement pictures and wedding pictures on it and we are still having fun developing and making holiday gifts out of them for our family. I would definitely recommend Neil to future brides, and already have given him recommendations to friends in the area who are recently engaged!
