Exceptional Photographer!
We found Kayla to be very accommodating and patient to capture my daughter’s wedding. Her photos are awesome! She went over and above to photograph all of the shots we requested plus many of her own creative ideas. The engagement session was fantastic! A magazine representative saw some of her photos and requested to cover the wedding in an issue, due to the story her photos told. Most amazing photographer!
Kayla is amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture our engagement photos and the most important day of our lives. She is so easy to work with and one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. She made us feel so comfortable and our wedding party had a blast with her! You will not regret booking with her!!Kayla is amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture our engagement photos and the most important day of our lives. Rude, Cares about Money over Clients
When we went for our engagement session, we discussed with Kayla that we would drive 3 hours from our location to her location. We didn’t hear a word from her after we decided on the meeting time (at least a week’s time). When we were halfway there, I let her know we were getting close. She then decides to tell us that she doesn’t want to do the session because of the weather. Me and my fiancé had been checking the weather all day, and rain was NOT in the forecast for our session time. It would be cleared up for hours by the time we got there. At the time Kayla was pregnant and said she had to cancel because she can’t slip and fall, which I TOTALLY understand, BUT she should have let us know AT LEAST 3 hours before our session time that she wanted to cancel, since she knew we were going way out of our way. The chance of rain had been in the forecast all week, so she had plenty of time to cancel, but instead waited until we were 1.5 hours away. And only said something because I messaged her first. We convinced her to at least meet us (which by her tone I could tell she didn’t really want to do) and we ended up doing the session because the ground wasn’t even slippery, since the rain stopped a while before we got there. But it felt awkward after the tense discussion on the drive there. The majority of the pictures turned out ok at best, a few being pretty good.
Now, with COVID-19 going on, we decided to postpone our 6/27/20 wedding to next year. We really wanted to stick with her and give her another chance since we had already booked her and worked with her, but she proved yet again to be difficult to work with. When I asked the Saturdays she had available, she asked if we could change our wedding to a Friday since she will make more money off of new clients. This rubbed me the wrong way. I told her we want a Saturday. Then she said since her prices have drastically changed, we will have to sign a new contract. I thought maybe they had gone up $1000. No, she is now asking $5500 for her best package, and about $3500 for her second best package (the one we had). Our original price was $1400. We are not going to pay over $2000 more for ok pictures and a photographer who is rude and not easy to work with. The fact that we had to postpone our wedding, and she couldn’t even work with us, is pretty harsh. I understand you are running a business but this is not how you treat customers, especially when they have already paid you their 50% deposit. I don’t understand how all of her reviews are good, which is partly why I’m writing this so people will know. Save your money and go to someone who is nice and doesn’t just care about money. When we went for our engagement session, we discussed with Kayla that we would drive 3 hours from our location to her location. Hello!
Thank you for your detailed review. I’m so sorry that this is how you remembered our experience as it’s not how I remember it! It’s so true, readers will want to hear your side but they will also want to hear my side of the story. I would like to ask any readers of this review to contact me if they have any questions about the situation. You’re correct, I do have excellent reviews and again I’m so sorry that we didn’t get the opportunity to work together to earn your 5 star review. -
