    Simply amazing!

Our experience with Bruce at National Museum of Dance was truly amazing. I will never be able to say enough thank you's for everything he did for us. Through a series of unfortunate events we had no other choice but to move our reception venue (a tented event at our house) at the last minute. Eight days before our wedding to be exact. Somehow our date was available at the Dance Museum. Bruce worked with us and our caterer to secure the venue, made sure it was set up exactly how we wanted it, and the day was executed flawlessly. Our wedding turned out better than we could have ever imagined. The Museum is beautiful and the location is perfect for a Saratoga wedding. If you are searching for the perfect venue, you have found it here!

    Could not have been better

The National Museum of Dance is a lovely venue; both grand and intimate; stately and fun. The outdoor space is perfect for ceremonies, cocktails or small dinners.

    Beautiful Venue June 12 2021

The Dance Museum is a gorgeous venue. The venue management, Bruce, was so accommodating, helpful and flexible. We were able to transform the space into a magical venue, having numerous wings to the building enabled us to have a formal dinner followed by a great dance party, the night was amazing.

Knocked it Out of the Park!

The National Museum of Dance is a beautiful wedding venue! Bruce, the Weddings & Events Manager, was incredibly easy to work with and really took the stress out of this stressful time for us. He is full of wonderful suggestions for vendors and made sure our day was perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend the National Museum of Dance for weddings!

    Saved the day

First of all, if you’re even debating the MoD, you need to confirm your date already, and if you haven’t considered it yet, you need to! My (now) husband and I worked with Bruce C. who is the director of events for the MoD and he is extremely welcoming and compassionate—there is no better person for this job. Any question we had, Bruce answered. Any request or question, big or small, Bruce was accommodating and patient. My husband and I are so very thankful to the MoD and Bruce for everything, our wedding would not have been the same otherwise.

Jo and Shelly are an amazing team! The venue is beautiful and we were super excited to have our wedding reception at the Museum. The acoustics, charm and decorum of the space is great for weddings! We utilized the southeast gallery for cocktail hour and the main room for dinner. It was a wonderful experience! Jo goes above and beyond to help out with your big day!

I had my ceremony and reception at the Dance Museum and it was the perfect setting for my pink and gold "summer glam" wedding! I had 90 guests, ceremony in the main ballroom, cocktail hour outside in the courtyard and reception back in the ballroom. Jo was so great and answered all of my many questions throughout the planning process. They only do 1 event per day which was great because my vendors were allowed to get in and set up with plenty of time just as long as it did not interfere with the museum (we had a Saturday wedding and the museum closes to the public around 4, my ceremony started at 5:30). They also have a large kitchen for the caterers which is nice. One thing to be mindful of is that the property grounds are run by the state park so the back courtyard lawn unfortunately wasn't mowed in time for my wedding (even though the museum called the week before to see if it could be done), the grass wasn't super tall but if I had an outdoor ceremony I probably would of minded more. During the night it did get really hot and the AC seemed to not be working but we just opened all the doors and there seemed to be a nice cross breeze. Overall the venue was beautiful and the guests loved how they could look around some parts of the museum, its definitley a unique venue in Saratoga with great picture spots!

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect setting for our wedding. The space alone is beautiful and the Museum event coordinator is a pleasure to work with. We found that our wedding of 75 guests was the perfect amount for the space (although you could probably hold about 100 comfortably). The value was even better. I was a bride on a budget and looked at a lot of venues in Saratoga Springs. The Museum didn't have any hidden costs and was a much more picturesque space than a lot of other venues in the area.

My husband and I had our wedding at the National Museum of Dance and were so very please with the venue. We had an early fall wedding in order to hold the ceremony and cocktail hour outside in the courtyard and the reception in the main atrium. The location size was just right -- not too big but not too small and made for a wonderful and beautiful day. When fully decorated the Museum looks gorgeous, with that Saratoga charm. Working with Jo at the Museum was a pleasure. Would highly recommend for your day!

We were the first spring wedding 04/30/11 this season. It was AMAZING. The place looked beautiful. They made sure all the flowers we're planted and it "appeared" to look like spring.....We had both our ceremony and reception right in the foyer. We had approx. 100 guests and their was plenty of room. Jo at the museum was great from beginning to end. Im so glad I went with this venue, the marble and columns looked great in the pictures and everyone thought the place was amazing and most of all, very clean and well kept!

The Museum of Dance was perfect for us. It's a beautiful and unique venue that our guests loved. We had our ceremony in the Main Foyer which was a little tight for the ~110 guests we had, but it worked out fine and pictures look beautiful. The Southeast Gallery was a perfect spot for cocktail hour. For the reception, the Main Foyer was rearranged and the entire center portion of the room was used as the dance floor, which was packed all night! The twelve 10p tables were split on opposite sides of the room which comfortably held everyone in addition to the cake table on one side; the bar on the other; and, the DJ by the giftshop. The sweetheart table was tucked away at the front of the Main Foyer which meant are guests couldn't see us much when we were seated but it gave us some quiet moments to take everything in.

My wife and I loved our choice of venue in the National Museum of Dance. It was the perfect size for our guest list (120 attended) and together with our DJ (Music Man Entertainment) and caterer (Longfellows) provided an elegant but fun atmosphere that led to a great party! The main entrance looks amazing when lit with up-lighting on the columns! Jo at NMD was so easy to deal with and very helpful with ideas and was always prompt with communications. We definitely recommend NMD!

The National Museum of Dance is a gorgeous venue. You need to do very little in terms of decoration to make it a breathtaking backdrop for your pictures. The museum has a lot of chairs and tables available for you to use and allows you to use most of their spaces.

The museum is a beautiful place to have a wedding. Our ceremony was in the courtyard, under the big tree. They hadn't mowed the grass, so it was a little high, but it was beautiful, and very quiet (the building blocks the road noise very well).

The cocktail hour was supposed to be in the courtyard as well, but it was so hot and sunny out back, people didn't want to stay out there, so they moved inside, where the reception was being held anyways. If you want people to stay in the courtyard, you may want to consider a tent.

The foyer was amazing for the reception. They say that you can fit 150 people inside, but I think that would be awfully tight. We had 120, and it was comfortable, but I wouldn't have wanted any more. Again, it was a little warm inside, even with the A/C running, but once the sun went down and we could open the doors, it cooled off. The lighting inside was amazing (the photographer loved it!).

Overall, it was a really nice place, despite the couple of "problems" that we had with it. It's such a different place (much better than the hotel conference rooms) and it makes for a really great wedding experience for you and your guests. The fee is reasonable for the area, especially considering they have all of the reception tables, cocktail tables and chairs that you will need. And, if you want an extra hour so you don't feel rushed, you can get it (for an extra fee of course).

    So gorgeous!!

This place was so perfect for my wedding. The rooms can be transformed so easily. It’s so picturesque. Bruce was easy to work with. I had previously been working with Jo and she was fantastic! Great staff. The space you get for the price is fantastic. I really love this place and was so glad I had my wedding here.

The space is absolutely beautiful, which was nice because it required minimal decoration. It was a really great value compared to other venues in the area and it felt unique and special. We had around 100 guests and it felt like the perfect size. Use of the porches and courtyard helped create a really nice indoor/outdoor flow and the surrounding area was gorgeous. I had originally considered an outdoor tent wedding, but changed courses and opted for something that required less coordination. The Museum of Dance combined the beauty of an outdoor wedding with the convenience of a catering hall type location at a great price.

I got married at the Dance Museum this summer and it was a lovely venue. I got many compliments about how unique and beautiful it was. Jo (the one who books the weddings) is a doll. Let's be real, she is quite old but sharp as a tack and really wants your day to be perfect Very responsive.
However, there are some things you should know about getting married at the NMD!

    Pros
The foyer CANNOT HOLD MORE THAN 120 PEOPLE for a sit down wedding reception. Absolute max! If you have over that you simply will not have a dance floor. With 116 (including 6 at a semi-head table) we were all very close/ squished.
NDM is super inflexible about staying over 5 hours. 5 hours is NOT ENOUGH time for your wedding ceremony and reception. Trust me on this! If you stay literally 15 minutes over 5 hours they will charge you $850. I was upset about this because I thought they would be more flexible. They are NOT. I was so stressed at the end of my wedding night (lights went on at 10:30 pm!!!) because I thought they were going to charge me for overage! I was rushing people out. It honestly was bad.
The courtyard under the tree is a nice ceremony spot but not breath taking. They need to mow more. It's probably a State Park budget shortfall.
The Foyer is very echo-y. Extremely echo-y. I had Mike Garassi DJ and he had all this fancy equipment and it still echoed way too much. Kinda bummed.
Southeast gallery for cocktail hour is fine but nothing special. Crappy carpet. Good flow though, lots of space.

    Pros
great, central location in Toga. Guests can go downtown easily after. No need for a shuttle!
    Jo is great and helpful.
Very bright foyer with lovely chandelier
Nice options for the ceremony in the courtyard or right in the foyer
great spot for photos on the pergolas outside and on the paths
one of the most unique, beautiful, historic buildings in Saratoga. A really special place to get married.
    Bathrooms are re-done very well.

I have always loved the museum of dance and when my fiance and I decided to get married in Saratoga Springs, we knew it would be the perfect venue. The space itself is just gorgeous. Our guests loved walking through the museum after the ceremony and all commented on what a beautiful space it was. We had our ceremony in the main hall, cocktails in the southeast gallery and then moved back into the main hall for our reception. The space is gorgeous, the bathrooms are very clean, and the southeast gallery was recently renovated and now has wood floors which were beautiful. The landscaping on the grounds was also gorgeous in June. The museum has both tables and chairs, which were included in the overall fee which made the planning process easier. Jo was incredibly responsive and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. Our wedding was 110 people total and it did not feel cramped, but I think anything over 120 would feel cramped, especially if you're having a sit down dinner. My only real complaint was that it got VERY hot in the museum as the party was revving up, but it was a very hot night and all of our guests were dancing, so perhaps it couldn't be helped.

This venue is stunning! I had the most beautiful wedding there. It has gorgeous lighting, it is so unique with the museum artifacts, and full of windows and beautiful chandeliers.
The downside is it is a little pricey, it was a little difficult to get in touch with the rental manager at times (though she is such a sweet lady).
All in all, it is an awesome location!

The venue is beautiful but needs some upkeep done! There is chipping paint and the exterior needs some work. We got married at night so it was much less noticable. We had the reception inside and it was perfect for 100 people. I don't think you could fit too many more people in there without it feeling packed. We got married outside and there are some huge air conditioners that look really bad against the side of the building so we choose to get married on the back patio area. Overall the place is beautiful but does need some work! It is a lot of money but they do provide all the chairs and tables for you which is nice.

We were very pleased with the venue. The entire museum is beautiful, especially the main foyer. The rental fee was 3500 for 5 hours, which was reasonable for the area, however we were told that the space was for 150 guests and really you should have no more than 120 if you plan to have a wedding inside the museum.

The Museum of Dance is a beautiful venue, and we held our ceremony and reception there. The grounds and building are gorgeous.

While I loved having our wedding at the Museum of Dance, the service is a bit difficult. They are not flexible about time, and you have to really be out of the venue within 5 hours. The Museum can get very hot inside in the summer, so plan for outdoor time - the porches and gardens are beautiful, so this is not much of a downside.
