Fantastic experience with Nathan and Kate

Nathan and Kate took our wedding photos earlier this month. They were with us for nearly 11 hours and captured the special moments from our day. Communication was easy, and they had our finished photos to us in less than two weeks! They had a creative eye for finding the best backdrops and backgrounds. We are very happy with the pictures and would recommend Nathan Desch Photography to anyone!

The Absolute Best!

Nathan did our wedding at the Phoenixville Foundry and we could not have asked for someone better! From the moment we met him, we knew he was the perfect fit. Nathan is so kind, and really listened to what we wanted and what was important to us. One of my favorite things about his work is how great he is with lighting. The Phoenixville Foundry is very dark and we were worried about how the photos turned out but we loved each shot we saw. Nathan also did a great job getting those intimate photos without being too up close and personal. We have so many beautiful shots from our ceremony but we didn't even notice where the cameras were. I would 100% recommend Nathan for your wedding!

Excellent experience beginning to end!

First, Nathan did our engagement shoot which turned out beautiful. Then, for our wedding they outdid that! We had Nathan and a 2nd photographer all day and they were with us from beginning to end. Captured a bunch of personal moments and I never felt as if they were even there. Getting hundreds of thousands of pictures after the wedding was a great surprise. Nathan even pulled us away a couple of times to get excellent sunset pictures. All in all, they did a great job and I would highly recommend them for an outdoor wedding but I am sure they can capture the very essence of just about any wedding.

We found Nathan online and fell in love with his unique photos. Nathan was awesome to work with through the whole process. He spent the entire wedding day with us from early morning hair and make up to some evening shots after the reception. During the ceremony and reception we barely noticed he was there, but he captured every moment. Most importantly, the photos are amazing! We highly recommend Nathan!

AMAZING!!! We are from Nashville, TN and got married March 2016 in Elizabethtown, PA. We came across Nathan's work searching for a photographer that took creative and unique photos. With the first photo we saw on his site we new instantly we had to have Nathan photograph our wedding. He has such a distinct and gorgeous photography style. Nathan was very easy to work with, and extremely responsive leading up to the wedding. This was especially great since we were so far away, and because of the distance, the first day we met was our wedding day. Nathan was so accommodating, nice and friendly. We are not the most relaxed in front of a camera but Nathan instantly made us feel comfortable. We had a list of photos that needed to be taken (family/bridal party... etc.) but left it up to Nathan to use his creative eye for the location of those photos at the venue. We were amazed by the creative ideas he had, they truly made every photo unique and special to us. Our photos are so artistic, we are so glad that we have such gorgeous pictures. We get complimented by everyone who has seen the photos and I highly recommend his services to everyone! He is extremely talented and has an eye for seeing things that will make absolutely fantastic pictures.

Nathan and his wife were our photographers for our wedding day and they are absolutely amazing! They were there from the morning until the end of the night and captured our whole day in their photos. I'm in love with all my wedding pictures and their shots truly show the story and timeline of my day. They got all my facial expressions that explained my mood throughout the day and all the minor details were captured. They say your wedding day goes fast and it's true - but having these pictures to look back on makes all the memories come back. Nathan works really well with lighting and finding the best shot for pics. I told him I wouldn't have even been upset if it rained on our wedding day, because he's so good at using those conditions to make awesome pics. Overall, I would definitely recommend him - he's friendly, professional, and really good at what he does!

During my wedding day Nathan arrived on time and was very professional but still laid back and was able to joke with my crazy crew. He is willing to do anything for a good angle or shot - we have made him get into a river or swampy pond for a picture twice now and he was very happy to do so to get the right angle and lighting. I have not seen the actual wedding picture yet because I just got married a couple weeks ago, but I'm sure they will be amazing.

If you're reading these reviews to try to decide whether or not Desch Photography is the right choice for you, I hope you'll find our experience and feedback helpful. - He was the model of professionalism. Patient, but direct, and able to manage a lot of personalities and opinions/suggestions at once. Don't underestimate how important that on your wedding day. - He was great at communicating -- answered all our questions quickly. Was flexible and available on short notice. On the day of, he let us know when he'd need us, and was barely even noticeable, but was flying around the entire time. - You saw the pictures. That's why you're reading these reviews. He is creative, but not tacky or goofy. He sees things and stages them better than anyone else we were even considering. A lot of the people you are considering will point fancy cameras at you, and then touch them up later -- and that's it. Desch understood angles, lighting, and when was the right time to take the pictures we wanted in certain spots. I can't recommend him enough. If you're going to save a couple dollars by using someone else, do yourself a favor and cut corners somewhere else. Nate

My husband and I found Nathan on theknot and instantly fell in love with his photos. They were more artistic than the ones from any of the other photographers we had previously considered using. We had both our engagement session and wedding photos taken with Nathan. I can not stress enough how professional and creative he was. He saw lighting, scenery, and photo opportunities that I couldn't begin to notice or understand. He knew exactly how and where to place us to capture the perfect photographs. Nathan was extremely professional and made sure to get all of our "must have" photographs throughout the day. Nathan provided a service level more than anything we could have asked for! When we first reached out to Nathan, he was quick to respond and was so excited to meet us! We met up with him in person over a Panera dinner and immediately connected with him. He is just one of those people that you can immediately get along with and feel comfortable around. Our engagement session was so much fun! At first I was sad that the weather didn't hold up (starting storming), but Nathan assured me that it was going to turn out beautiful, as he loves shooting dramatic scenery. I was blown away when the photos came out awesome! The wedding was even more impressive. Nathan showed up around 10:30am and wasn't done taking photos until 11pm. Now that is something that is rare to find in a wedding photographer. He knew exactly where to be at the right time and seamlessly blended into the wedding. We just got our photos back from the wedding (a little over a month!) and they are so beautiful! Nathan is so personable, fun, and professional all at the same time. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Nathan as our photographer. We highly recommend him to others looking to capture their big day!

We were looking for a photographer for our wedding in August and all it took was one look at Nathan's website and we were sold! Nathan's wedding package came with an engagement session which was great because we got a chance to meet him and immediately we felt at ease. Working with Nathan and Christelle was such a joy. They knew that we didn't want cookie cutter shots and they definitely delivered above and beyond. Our families and friends all commented on how magical our day was and how it was perfectly captured on the pictures. The only problem we're having is picking which picture to put in the frame because they are all beautiful... Looks like we're going to need a bigger wall... Picking Nathan for our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we've made. Worth every single penny!

My husband and I found Nathan and his wife, Christelle after reviewing a list of frequently used vendors from our reception venue. The pictures on his website were awesome...the perfect combination of romantic and artsy. We met with him briefly one evening and felt an instant connection. He was laid back, easy to talk to, had a sense of humor and most importantly for me (an anxious bride) not the type of person that would stress me out on the big day.
A free engagement shoot session was the perfect way to get to know Nathan and his style of photography as well as getting used to being in front of the camera. We had a great time walking around boathouse row and the art museum that day…and when we got our pictures (hundreds!) we were totally floored with how incredible they were!
On the morning of our wedding, my husband’s best man had planned for everyone to meet at a local barber for straight shaves. Nathan and Christelle were happy to accommodate them as well as me and my girls at the salon. They got so many awesome shots and it thrilled me that my husband had some of the spotlight that morning, too!
The photos that they captured of the rest of our day were just spectacular and exactly what we wanted. Most importantly, Nathan and Christelle perfectly captured the love that my husband and I share! I would recommend Nathan Desch Photography to absolutely anyone getting married in the tri-state area!

It was a no-brainer to work with Nathan for our wedding, after seeing his work. He has great examples of outdoor and nighttime photography on his blog and with our wedding being held in the evening and mostly outdoors, his style fit in perfectly with our vision of the day.

We chose to have two photographers for the full day, and Nathan and his wife were a wonderful pair to work with. They were prepared, professional and took the reigns, as we wanted. We let them be the experts, and had them direct us throughout the day. The output speaks for itself; it's not just photographs, each image is a piece of art. If you are looking for specific photos or poses, definitely provide them but I would recommend letting Nathan do his thing!

His use of lighting is magical and I can't even count how many people have commented on how great our photographer was. He made every moment beautiful and I can't say enough good things. I'm just so glad we have these images for the rest of our lives. Best vendor decision we made.

We came to hear of Nathan through our wedding coordinator at the venue we had chosen. Both of us had never heard of him, but we were very intrigued by the samples of his work the venue was able to provide. When we checked out his website later on, we knew we found the right one. I was particularly impressed by the time and effort put into the shot compositions. He was not simply interested in giving you a photographic account of your wedding; he wanted to create art. Additionally, he was a very personable individual and he knew how to make his subjects feels at ease. Since the wedding itself, we have spoken through email in regards to the purchasing of engagement photos, and he continues to be very reasonable and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone.

Nathan came highly recommended by our wedding venue. After pouring over the numerous options we had to review, we realized that there was no better option for us. Nathan makes you feel like you are his only client. He is very timely with his responses and always thoroughly answers any inquiries you may have. Furthermore, his shots are stunning. We had never seen anything like some of the pieces he has produced for us. There is a clichéd notion of weddings that the occasion should feel magical, like something out of a fairy tale. Obviously, with the amount of work and stress put into planning, that mentality feels somewhat far-fetched. Having Nathan as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. Photography was incredibly important to us, and we had such a hard time trying to find the perfect photographer before we found Nathan. Some photographers are fine art photographers who can take wonderful portraits but aren't able to capture the many moments of your wedding as it unfolds. Some are photojournalists who can document every little moment, but their pictures lack the artistry and creativity to make them anything truly special. We didn't want to have to choose, and finding Nathan was like a miracle because with him, we didn't have to. Nathan has a gift and is able to look into his camera and take pictures in a way that makes ordinary things look extraordinary. We got back over 1000 jaw droppingly beautiful photographs that perfectly capture every moment, feeling, and emotion of our wedding day. I truly feel like Nathan went above and beyond with our wedding photos, and I could not be more ecstatic with how they turned out. Nathan is such a pro and was an absolute pleasure to work with - super friendly, easy going, and helpful, with great communication before, during, and after the wedding. He is so kind and even came back to the hotel to take a picture of us with our pet guinea pig, which meant the world to us. We were the first in our college group to get married, and we would not hesitate to recommend him to all our friends. Nathan is an awesome photographer, and you won't regret hiring him!!

I can't begin to describe how phenomenal Nathan's work is. He did our engagement photos and we loved them so much that we wouldn't book our wedding venue until we confirmed that Nathan was available that day to do our wedding! Nathan photographed our wedding in June (and engagement shoot a few days before!) and we are so happy with the photos. He and Christelle were simply amazing! I grew up in a photography obsessed family - pictures at every holiday, birthday, dinner out - closets overflowing with albums and DVDs of pictures. So I always knew photography was going to be my top wedding vendor priority.
We found Nathan by accident, he shot an engagement shoot at a location we were considering, and his photography blew us away. The colors, composition, emotion conveyed in his pictures leaped off the screen to tell a story. My husband and I loved his style of candids and artistic poses. All of his couples seemed at ease and the pictures seemed so natural, not overly orchestrated in traditional stuffy wedding style.
Nathan was quickly responsive to our inquiry and we knew he was our photographer at our first meeting. He came so prepared compared to other photographers we met. Full album examples, pamphlets of tips, questionnaires etc. He was personable, honest, enthusiastic and passionate about his job. We are so incredibly happy we booked him.
Our engagement photo shoot was a blast - felt like wandering around town with a friend just chatting and getting amazing pictures! Our family and friends cannot stop commenting about how great all the pictures are! I only wish I had more wall space so I could hang every single one. :)
At our wedding Nathan and his second shooter/wife were fantastic! They wrangled everyone easily into pictures, made great suggestions for locations and setups, were game for any specific photo requests. It was such a pleasure to have them both there. We even did a few night shots - which we are anxiously awaiting! The sneak peeks on his camera's preview screen were absolutely astounding!
We are so lucky he was the one to capture our special day. We cannot wait to print up loads of prints and surround ourselves with his art in our home. There is magic in the shots he captures. I would recommend him to any couple - A++++ vendor! Thank you Nathan!

Our venue listed Nathan Desch as a preferred vendor but that is not why we went with him. From the very beginning of the vetting process, he was fast to respond, friendly to talk to and knowledgeable in his craft. Nathan was always available to reach on the phone when we had questions, prompt to respond to emails and consistently polite and professional.

In the months leading up to our wedding he prepared us for what to plan for and expect on our BIG day, and when that day came, we felt calm and comfortable with him and his wife. They made us, our families, our wedding party and our guests feel at ease with the posed photos and went unnoticed seamlessly for the candid ones.

Nathan has very unique photo ideas that he sets up with you as well as capturing the random memorable moments, flawlessly. If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding day, all you need to do is just take a 5 second tour of Nathan's portfolio on his website and your search is over. We had an absolute blast working with Nathan for both our engagement shoot and wedding day and the finished result he delivers to you is magic. He gives you photos jam-packed with stylish contrast and color and the most beautiful composition. Not only does he have a very creative and unique vision (because there are some photo ideas that really floored us!), he is the nicest person ever. So down to earth and really easy to work with. He made us feel relaxed and normal in front of the camera. We are a bit camera-shy and have always felt a bit awkward in front of the camera but Nathan just kind of lets you be you and he somehow manages to capture the most genuine moment.

One thing that stood out to me about Nathan's work was even though he shot many weddings at the same venue that we got married in, he is still able to make all of them truly remarkable and different so you are left with one of a kind memories. As we planned our wedding, one of the easiest decisions we were able to make was hiring Nathan to be our photographer. We found him through an internet search of photographers in our area, and he was without a doubt the best. We were sold the moment we went to his website and saw the work he had done on weddings. Nathan has a unique style that made our jaws drop. Not only is his work amazing, but he was an absolute pleasure to work with. My husband and I both are not ones that enjoy our pictures being taken, but Nathan made us both feel so at ease that we actually forgot he was taking pictures of us at times. He captured all the moments we cherish as a couple and has allowed us to continue reliving those moments through his work. He is without a doubt the best, and we look forward to hiring him again in the future.

I was initially drawn to Nathan's photography because of his artistry, composition, and use of light and color. At our first meeting, he immediately put us at ease with his friendly and personable manner. He is confident and competent in his work, communicated openly throughout the process, and always answered my questions quickly.

I really didn't feel the need to review a lot with him in advance of our wedding day. I already knew I loved his style, and trusted him fully to create beautiful photographs. Nathan instills the kind of trust that just allows the bride and groom to enjoy the day. He exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be happier with our photos. I highly recommend his services.

We were pleased with Nathan Desch and his assistant, Chris, who shot our wedding.

Nathan is friendly, patient, creative, easy going, and professional. He is flexible and willing to do whatever suits you. He listened to what we wanted and what was important to us. He didn't chime in and give us his opinions; he just did what we asked. Anything we listed on his questionnaire, he made sure to capture so be thorough with your requests. He helped to remind us of different angles we wanted or photos we had listed. He also spent the time to do some more creative, innovative shots, which turned out great.

We chose Nathan also because he doesn't have a time limit on his packages. He comes when you want and stays as long as you want. This made it easier for us to prepare and took the weight off of being worried if he'd miss out on some of the day. Also, Nathan is super accessible by email. He was very responsive to all our emails and willing to meet upon request. He offers a free engagement session, which helped us get to know each other and learn his style and what kind of shots we liked and didn't like.

Nathan has more of a natural, candid style so although I wished he gave more direction, that's not his style. He lets you be you and doesn't try to force anything. Our photos came out great. It documented our big day and that's all we can ask for.

Tip: If you don't like Nathan's poses, use your own. Speak up and ask to do your own poses. Nathan was more than happy to accommodate us. And if you need more direction, do some research on Pinterest and incorporate them.

Tip: We regret not getting more group photos. We should've made sure to get all girl photos, all guy photos, and photos with all the flowers.

I came across Nathan on the knot and instantly fell in love with the pictures. The style of photography is exactly what my (now) husband and I were looking for. We met up with Nathan and knew right away that we had found our photographer.

We had our engagement session and I was pretty nervous, because I've never had professional pictures done before. I thought it would be awkward - and of course at first it was. But that lasted all of 2 minutes. Nathan made us feel so comfortable even while he was shooting photos of my fiancée and I kissing right in the middle of a very crowded Suburban Station! We then went to JFK Plaza and to the Art Museum/Waterworks - he made sure we had all the pictures we wanted and had so many great ideas. By the end of our engagement session we were pros - we felt so comfortable that instead of a photo shoot we felt like we had just spent the day hanging out with a friend that just happened to be taking pictures. We had the e-session on a Monday, that Wednesday we had 2 "sneak peeks" and Thursday afternoon Nathan emailed us to let us know all of our pictures were available online. Seriously. 3 days.

We had our wedding on Friday May 2 at the Adventure Aquarium. This sounds cheesy, but I was so excited for the pictures of the wedding I hadn't even had yet! Nathan and Chris met up with my bridesmaids and I that morning at the salon. Just like our first experience with Nathan, the whole day we felt so comfortable and had a great time. We had some "sneak peeks" while we were on our honeymoon and a little over two weeks later we had all of our pictures. Nathan loves what he does and it shows with every picture he takes. Just look at his website!

The bad news: I love so many of the pictures that it's almost impossible to pick which ones I want to hang on my walls.

My advice to future brides: Contact Nathan ASAP because he's the best. When you're done that, buy/register for A LOT of picture frames. You are going to need them!!

I could not say enough good things about my experience with Nathan and his team. From the beginning, Nathan was extremely responsive, easy to get ahold of, and upfront about all of his pricing. My husband and I fell in love with his photos online, they really stood out compared to so many other websites we looked at. I also loved how he excels with nighttime photos - this was so helpful to us because we didn't want to see each other before the wedding and had limited day-time photo opportunities. On the day of the wedding Nathan was prompt, professional, fun, and very relaxing to be around. My husband really dislikes having his photo taken, and it was a breeze I think in part because Nathan is very non-obtrusive, and his personality is so easy-going. Most importantly, the pictures we took turned out amazing.
Nathan made sure to capture every detail of the wedding that I requested, we did photos of the bridesmaids/myself before the wedding, captured all the ceremony, family photos, wedding party photos, reception, and tons of dancing photos. He also stayed later to do some final night shots of myself and the groom which were the fun "sparkler" photos. He really tries to accommodate your schedule and desires for the entire day. I truly felt like Nathan was working for us that day, and yet his expertise was visible and he knew when to take command of a situation to ensure we got the best quality photos. I am so glad that we found him and were able to book him- if you are reading this, you should contact him ASAP!!

After looking at various photographs from weddings at our chosen venue, Nathan’s work was by far our favorite. From our first contact with him, Nathan’s enthusiasm and responsiveness assured us that he was the photographer for us. He was flexible in creating a package that worked the best for our wedding day and budget. We had engagement pictures done, and this helped us to be more comfortable with posing. His creativity simply cannot be matched by any other photographers that we came across in the area. He takes awesome nighttime pictures! Christelle assisted him on our wedding day, and the photographs that both she and Nathan captured couldn’t be better. They took such a high volume of photos that we were not disappointed about not having a videographer. Everything was documented. Multiple family members and friends commented both on their professionalism and kindness on the wedding day, and certainly on the final product of their work. We highly recommend them! Nathan and Christelle did my wedding photos and they all came out amazing. I would seriously recommend them for any sort of special event. They were also really accommodating, they went above and beyond to fit our wedding into their schedule when we could only give them two weeks notice (it was a military wedding)! Nathan did our engagement and wedding pictures. I was extremely happy with how both turned out. I love so many of our wedding pictures i have no idea how we are going to pick out just a few to print. They took a ton of pictures during our reception with the fisheye lens that I love because I can see the entire party. They even took pictures of my shoes and accessories that I had no idea they took until I saw the proofs. Nathan was very professional and made us feel very comfortable.

Nathan and his wife, Christelle, were our wedding photographers (and Nathan did our engagement photos) and the quality of everything was just outstanding! From our first phone call with Nathan, through the engagement pictures, planning for the wedding, and the wedding itself, we have nothing but rave reviews for Nathan Desch Photography. These are the memories we are going to have for the rest of our lives and Nathan is worth every last penny we paid him and we would book him all over again. He has got incredible vision and imagination. We didn't want a photographer who takes the same shots, same poses, for every single event. Nathan's images are fun, creative, and the final photos are full of color and life (definitely not boring!). He also has great ideas for night shots using sparklers, spotlights, and any other lighting accent you could think of! We loved having him take care of our wedding and we couldn't be more excited with our engagement and wedding photos. If you book any other photographer you are wasting your time and money.

We hired Nathan to shoot our wedding because we were looking for a more journalistic approach and we were really impressed by his portfolio. We purchased a package that included a second shooter (his wife, Christelle) and they were both amazing! They were with us all day and our pictures turned out amazing. My family and friends were really impressed with his creativity and the quality of the photos. The pictures (and video if you get it) will be what you have left once the big day is over so you will definitely want a great photographer!

Nathan Desch Photography was great to work with! We enjoyed our engagement photo shoot and were impressed how quickly and efficiently he was able to get through our posed wedding shots and how incredible they turned out. When planning our wedding, we put extra effort into finding our photographer. To us, one of the most important components of a wedding is finding a good photographer to capture the moments of the day. When we came across Nathan's webpage, we knew he was the perfect photographer for us. We scheduled an engagement session and had an absolute blast in the pouring rain. Our photos came out amazing which made us even more excited for our big day. I always hate when you are at a wedding ceremony and all you can see is the photographers back because they're right in front of the bride and groom trying to capture the perfect picture. That's not the case with Nathan. He was able to capture each and every moment of our big day without being noticed by our guests. He had unique and creative ideas for our bridal pictures, and we received our proofs shortly after our big day. We definitely recommend him for engagement and wedding photos!!

Nathan and his second shooter did a great job for my wedding in Philadelphia! I love the photos, particularly the night shots! (I think it is their specialty) They caught every moment of the day and present the photos in a story telling way with an artistic yet natural touch.

Besides the incredible photo quality, Nathan is a responsive person throughout the planning process. He always replies within 24 hours, and make sure that every detail is clear. Also, I think for the service we had, the price is very reasonable in Philadelphia area.

Nathan and his wife Christelle were awesome to work with. From the the first meeting with Nathan to the day of our wedding we could not be happier with our choice in a photographer. I am currently still waiting for our photos (this review is a little early), but know they will be wonderful when I finally get to see them! We did our engagement session with Nathan as well, and would highly recommend doing so because it allows you to get to know one another and what each of you can expect come the the BIG DAY.

Nathan captures beautiful moments and has the ability to be creative and do something different. It is what most attracted me to him as photographer, especially how he can play with light and reflections. While I only used Nathan for our engagement/wedding photography, I know he offers a wide array of services, that given a larger budget, I would have used.

As far as communication goes, Nathan is GREAT! The wedding industry is busy, but he will always take the time to answer your questions and explain things to you... a sign of someone who knows what they are doing, is that they can help you to understand, rather than just playing "I'm the expert" and leaving you feeling underwhelmed.

When it comes to being prepared, Nathan has it covered. He provides you with informational tips at the meeting that help you to prepare for your photo needs. My husband happened to get something on his white jacket and Nathan even had a tide wipe to take care of that. He should be called "No Worries Nathan" because of his ability to make your day run smoothly with his calm and collected attitude.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to have had Nathan photograph my wedding and would highly recommend him and his wife to anyone who doesn't want the typical (lame) wedding shoot.

My husband and I absolutely could not be happier that we chose Nathan for our wedding. We both photograph weddings on the side and so we were very picky with our selection of a photographer while also trying not to break the bank. Nathan was the perfect choice. His approach was professional and comfortable. I was able to ask for certain shots and also let him do his thing. During the reception and ceremony I actually completely forgot he was present because he was so unobtrusive. Once we received the photos, however, it was apparent that he was absolutely present and capturing all of the right moments at the right times. His use of lighting is probably what drew us to him first, he has a definite eye for using both natural and artificial light. We received our proofs within 2 weeks of our wedding, much sooner than some of my friends received their photos from other photographers. He really was simply fantastic and I have already begun to recommend him to friends!

Nathan Desch Photography is THE only photographer for you! I met Nathan and his wonderful wife at Stokesay Castle’s Bridal Fair in Reading, PA. Nathan is extremely talented, personable, polite and a true professional. We searched through many photographers at events and online. I assume all professionals displayed their very best work on their websites and at bridal fairs. Nathan’s work blew them all out of the water. Looking through Nathan’s portfolios, I could immediately see he has an eye for beauty and art. His pictures were amazing, all of them! He is great at capturing “in the moment” shots (photojournalistic) which are my favorite. After meeting Nathan at the bridal fair we continued to research photographers but I just could not get his work out of my head. No one compared to him. So we decided to take the next step and formally meet with him. For our meeting, Nathan traveled to my home in the evening which was enormously convenient for my fiancé and me. After going over some preliminary information and looking though a few pages of a sample album, it was crystal clear; the search was over…I had to have Nathan as our photographer to capture our precious moments on that special day. I don’t know how to describe the calmness I felt after meeting with him. I knew everything would be handled and our photos were going to be amazing. The day of our wedding came and went so fast. The second my husband and I pulled out of the reception parking lot I said, “I cannot remember anything!” The day just flew by. A few days later Nathan release the photos and all I can say is WOW! Over a thousand photos were taking and I was in tears because, though Nathan’s talent I was able to see things I missed at the wedding and recall things I had forgotten. His photojournalist style preserves the life of our family and guests, the beauty of the day and the precious memories for us to share for a lifetime. I cannot say enough positive comments about him and his wife.

Nathan was very helpful the day of our wedding in keeping us on track and making sure I got the pictures that I want. I was not the most put together bride when it came to photos and I appreciate him taking an active role in directing us. It was extremely cold the day of our wedding and I could tell he was working to help keep us as comfortable as possible. There aren't enough great things I can say about Nathan and his photography skills and professionalism! He is so talented, and actually has fair prices (something that isn't commonly seen in the wedding photography world!)! We had so much fun working with him! He captures moments that I will now be able to keep forever and he had brilliant ideas for pictures that were unique and different from the "traditional" style. We also opted for a photo booth that our guests LOVED. I highly recommend Nathan Desch Photography because you truly get a professional and talented photographer that will capture the best moments and memories of your special day.

We used Nathan for both our engagement pictures and our wedding day pictures. He does awesome work (great at capturing all the little details!!), and turns it around quickly. He's also competitively priced for the quality of shots and editing he provides. Plus, his travel rates are pretty reasonable: he traveled from Reading, PA to our wedding in Bel Air, MD without charge (which we really appreciated).

Nathan did an incredible job with our wedding pictures. He was extremely professional and efficient. We had our photo booth pictures posted within 48 hours and our wedding pictures back within 2 ½ weeks. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Nathan was so great to work with – you didn’t even realize the two photographers were at the reception. They just made the entire day very relaxed and were super accommodating. Thanks again for an amazing day!

Nathan is an incredible wedding photographer! He brings artistry to his shots and the results are breathtaking! I could not be more happy with the pictures he took! And he's so quick so you do not miss much of the party. Would recommend him to anyone!

We just had Nathan Desch and his second shooter, Luke, photograph our recent wedding, and overall, we would recommend him and the quality of his work. We were very happy with his style of shooting- he takes more of the photojournalist approach to blend in with the crowd and capture moments as they happen rather than trying to pose people all day. And when we say all day we mean ALL DAY. He was taking photos for our entire day of festivities and was there for 12 hours and never gave any impression he was tired or wanted to skip out- he was there working for us happily. And he charges by the day not limiting how many hours he'll be there so he didn't hit us with an additional charge for his long day.

Some of the group and family shots unfortunately were a little different from the way that we had hoped to see them, which is mostly because we were trying to shoot at 12:00 noon, which is when the light is the worst! The bad sunlight forced us to use an awkward spot for the group shots, which is unfortunate because they're so important to family and friends. We also didn't get a chance to sit down for a 'proper' consultation with Nathan prior to the wedding day because we live in Florida, which led to a little bit of miscommunication during the day- we definitely would strongly encourage any future brides to make sure to speak with your photographer in detail, a few days or weeks before the wedding!

Those are the only negatives we have, though, and we felt that the rest of the process was outstanding. Nathan is a professional and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process, the quality of the photography was consistently top-notch (as discussed above), and the value for the price was exceptional: Nathan also offered us a discount as we're a military couple, which is a quality of service above and beyond the norm.

Nathan and his wife are a very good team. We couldn't have asked for a more laid back couple to shoot our wedding. They shot beautiful pictures for our engagement session, wedding, as well as trash the dress session. Working with Nathan and his wife was easy. They met us at the hair salon and followed us the entire wedding day.
Being from a family of photography, I can say that the quality of pictures and editing was superb. I would highly recommend Nathan Desch to shoot your wedding day. He is very talented and will do anything to get the perfect picture for your wedding album.

We got married 8 months ago and I still look at the wedding photos that Nathan and his assistant took on our wedding day. We were very happy from the start of our engagement photos to the wedding day. I was planning my wedding from thousands of miles away from Philadelphia and had to do a lot of conversing back and forth via email. Nathan took the time to answer my questions by email and phone even though there was a time zone difference. I had a Chinese ceremony in the morning and an American ceremony in the evening so it was an all day affair that lasted 14+ hours. Unlike other photography groups that charge an hourly rate per photographer, his price structure was a flat fee for the entire day. That take a lot of stress out of planning b/c I didn't have to stress so much about going an hour over schedule. While family posed portraits are not why Nathan's work shines, he was very accommodating and took many family photos for us. In each photo, he made sure no one was holding a purse, shirts were tucked in, and hands and arms were in the right place for each photo. I now have a family photo where everyone looks great! I have a very large family that can be a bit difficult to work with but Nathan handled the environment w/ ease. He was flexible and easy going, but also took his work very seriously. The finished photos were beautiful and I have no doubt that he is the best in the Philadelphia area.

I hate to leave a 3 star review, but I feel with my experience that it's a fair review. As far as pictures go, my husband wore a cover during the day which left a red line on his forehead and we were told it'd be edited the day of the wedding and when we got the pictures back, there's a red line on my husbands forehead. Another thing was I don't think our venue's location was taken advantage of with how beautiful it is. Our pictures pretty much all have the same background. I don't feel as if the picture taking process was very well organized but that could've been partially our fault too. Nathan clearly has talent based off his pictures, I just don't think I saw the full potential in ours unfortunately.
