I Never Knew a DJ Could Be This Good

I’ve lived my life thinking I knew what a good DJ was like: keep people dancing, play a good mix of music, announce some events. Then I had Evan at my wedding, and he completely shattered the bar. I had no idea a DJ could bring this level of joy and happiness to myself and all our attendees. The dance floor was packed the entire night and every song was so well selected and timed. It felt like a concert where the artist finally plays that one song, the kind where you turn to your friend and jump up and down because IT’S OUR SONG, except it was my wedding and it was every single song. I even had guests in the middle of dancing pull me aside just to compliment the DJ. Evan and his team are next level. Just stop reading this and book them.

Great experience with DJ Jeff!

We worked with DJ Jeff for our wedding recently at the Loom. We had a Sunday brunch wedding and we were uncertain of how much dancing would be involved. DJ Jeff was able to read the room perfectly - he played crowd favorites when the dance floor was lively and played a collection of our favorites during the rest of the reception. The process was extremely simple and DJ Jeff was very helpful along the way. He let us know that he would be as hands-on or hands-off as needed. We cultivated a number of our favorite songs that would give him a sense of our musical taste and he was able to set the playlist from there. We thoroughly enjoyed working with DJ Jeff and would gladly work with him again!

Brian absolutely killed it!

We HIGHLY recommend MyDeejay, and DJ Brian Jones in particular! The company's inquiry process was very easy because the company does the work of matching you with the DJ they think will fit you best. We were paired with Brian and after our initial virtual meeting with him, we knew he HAD to be our DJ! He listened to our goals and our concerns, and helped us to keep our friends and family-- and us!-- celebrating and dancing all night long. We wanted a wedding that felt like "us," but we also wanted EVERYONE to enjoy the music at our wedding. Brian helped us to balance those goals perfectly, incorporating the music we love with the normal vibe of a wedding with a large family contingent. Brian was flexible on the amount of input he received from us and how he got it (we made several Spotify playlists, and made an Excel spreadsheet). He did an awesome job of following all of our requests when we were being particular and of providing his expertise when we were just totally lost. Brian was able to blend classic wedding dance music to get everyone on the dance floor and then smoothly transition to a pop-punk hour that kept every guest on the dance floor through the end of the night with songs that everyone was singing along to. He was also a great MC-- not at all cheesy, but very up-beat, informative, and helpful! Every guest we talked to since the wedding commented on how great the music was and how much fun it was to be on the dance floor. The company was affordable for the area, and we never felt like we were being up-sold on extras. But really, it was Brian that made our wedding amazing, and kept our guests on the dancefloor all reception long!

DJ Van Petty mad our reception a special event!

Van Petty worked patiently with us through all of our developing and ever-changing ideas to create a special playlist for our reception. From the jazzy, laid-back feel of the cocktail hour, to the special Bridgerton soundtrack for dinner to the dance mix that kept our guests moving from beginning to end, everything was spot-on! By avoiding tired boomer hits in favor of modern dance pop mixed with some good ol’ classic hip hop, he engaged not only the millennial guests of the bride and groom, but the aunts and uncles and other older friends and relatives. Van also served as a perfect MC to keep the party moving and was able to accommodate on the fly a salsa request by my brother (his wife is a salsa dance champ). All in all a 10/10!

The best energy & great collab with saxophonist!

If you are looking for a DJ who is professional, high-energy, and will truly elevate your wedding to the next level, look no further than Brian Jones. Our coordinator recommended him specifically, and we are so happy we trusted her judgment!

From our very first introductory call, we knew Brian was the one. His personality and infectious energy shone through immediately, making what could have been a tough decision an incredibly easy one. We left that call feeling confident that our reception was in the best possible hands.

Brian struck the perfect balance between honoring our specific vision and using his own expertise to keep the party moving. His versatility across genres is impressive, and he has a knack for adding his own fun, creative touch to transitions that kept the dance floor packed all night.

What truly set Brian apart was how he handled a last-minute request. Only two months before our October 2025 wedding, we asked if he knew a saxophonist who could accompany him during the reception. Given the short notice, we didn’t have high hopes.

Brian didn't just give us a "maybe" — he tapped into his music community to find a solution. A month later, he connected us with a talented saxophonist he hadn't even worked with before. Brian took the initiative to coordinate, and together they arranged a flawless setlist.

Their partnership ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our wedding. It was a seamless, high-end experience that left our guests raving — we still have friends and family telling us how amazing the music was months later!

Dj jeff is phenomenal!

DJ Jeff was the DJ for our wedding on 9/13/25 and he was absolutely incredible. He did such a great job of listening to our preferences and crafting a playlist that was a perfect blend of songs we chose and songs that fit the vibe. Our dance floor was packed the whole night, and I credit that to DJ Jeff! The highlight of the wedding was when DJ Jeff surprised us by playing Love Story (Taylor Swift) as the final song. It was the happiest, most magical moment. DJ Jeff just knows what he’s doing. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He.is.amazing.

Excellent!

My husband and I had a truly wonderful experience working with My Deejay for our wedding. We were paired with DJ Jeff Furnas, who was absolutely fantastic. He collaborated with us throughout the entire process to ensure that the music and the run of show were perfectly set for our big day.

Jeff was extremely detail-oriented and expertly brought our musical vision to life. Our guests are still raving about how wonderful the music was! He also served as our MC and was truly key to helping the day run smoothly, giving timely announcements to provide instructions on what was next and where guests should go. We had so much fun at our wedding, all thanks to our incredible DJ!

The Best DJ!

We are so happy we went with MyDeejay! We were paired with DJ Van Petty, who was amazing from the jump. He was prepared, had all the right equipment for our live musicians, and really brought our musical vision to life. We had quite the party and so many of our guests commented during and afterward about how great our DJ was. We loved DJ Frank!

We were so happy with DJ Frank! He was very communicative, and understood the type of music we were looking for for our wedding. Wonderful Wedding!

Van Petty was an amazing DJ! His service and communication was on point from start to finish. Our first zoom was almost an hour of him getting to know us as a couple, asking questions about the kind of music we liked, and helping us curate a musical experience we wanted. He stayed in touch with us leading up to the day of and was easy to reach for any needed changes. Most importantly our dance floor was hopping the entire time at our wedding! There was quite literally never a dull moment the entire night thanks to Van Petty's DJ skills. I would recommend him to any couple wanting a long night of dancing fun!

DJ Keion was fantastic!

We had DJ Keion Gaskins who was absolutely fantastic. He was well prepared with questions and was able to get all of the questions resolved before the wedding day. On the wedding day, Keion was energetic and incredibly professional and worked with our coordinator to get setup. He did an amazing job of keeping people on the dance floor while also hitting a wide variety of songs so all of our guests were out there dancing. Our family and friends kept commenting on how great the music was and how energetic the dance floor was. We really appreciated him hitting our must plays and the timing of the songs for the ceremony was absolutely fantastic. Would recommend for your wedding!

MyDeeJay, specifically DJ VAN, was incredible!!!

We are so impressed with DJ Van! He kept the party going all night. Our dance floor was packed for a full 2.5 hours. He played to the crowd and kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night seamlessly working in our favorites and mixing up the genres perfectly. Their portal was super easy to work with and we just emailed DJ Van a spotify playlist we liked and he did the rest. He set up for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and played amazing music during dinner. He was also a great MC.

Great wedding dj!

Evan brought exactly the right energy for our wedding from start to finish. We had some custom music files that we wanted to use in our ceremony, which he incorporated with no problem, and he immediately got the vibe we wanted with cocktail hour and dinner. His MC-ing at dinner was clear but unobtrusive as he guided guests through the transitions and onto the dance floor. I got so many guests complimenting the dance mix—one said “I couldn’t sit down because there are too many bangers!” As the bride, I wanted to dance the night away without worrying about anything, and Evan made sure I could do just that. MyDeeJay is a great choice!

Simply the best!

My brother and sister-in-law used MyDeejay for their wedding 12 years ago, and I still remember how amazing their reception was — the music, the energy, the dancing that never stopped. From that moment, I knew when it was my turn, I’d want MyDeejay too.

We were lucky to have Van Petty as our DJ, and he was phenomenal. Van listened to everything we wanted and went above and beyond to make our vision come to life. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all in different locations at our venue, and he had separate setups for each. Every transition was seamless, and the entire night flowed perfectly.

The dance floor was packed from start to finish, and our guests are still raving about how fun the night was. Van is professional, talented, and truly knows how to keep the energy alive. We can’t recommend him or MyDeejay enough!

We love dj wong!

We had the pleasure of working with DJ Wong from MyDeejay. A quick review of MyDeejay: They were excellent to work with. They paired us with DJ Wong after we filled out a quick survey about the vibe we wanted for our wedding, and it was smooth sailing from there. It's clear from working DJ Wong that MyDeejay vets their DJs very well and ensures they're all professional and great to work with.

Now for DJ Wong: He's got all of the main things you want in a vendor--professionalism, responsiveness, expertise, etc.), but he goes well above and beyond those standards. He provided ceremony music, background music, reception music, and uplighting, but that's just the starting point of everything he did for us.

We were PICKY and we had A LOT of requests, and he accommodated them all flawlessly and eagerly. We requested he alter versions of some of our selected songs to adjust for timing, blending parts of songs together, and very particular transitions between songs. He made everything sound amazing!

We had not 1, not 2, but FIVE choreographed dances throughout the evening, and he executed the timing of everything perfectly. The sound was incredible! In addition to that, because we were completely over-the-top for our wedding, DJ Wong so graciously and excitedly fulfilled our request to have KARAOKE at our reception. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!

We had a very particular vibe in mind from our wedding--we wanted our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner to be classy and jazzy, and then for the reception dancing we wanted a mix of Pop anthems from the past 3 decades--DJ Wong understood the assignment perfectly! We were also at a very large venue and he had to provide sound across many different areas throughout the evening, but he came fully prepared and did an excellent job. We received so many compliments about the ambience for the entire evening, and we attribute that to him!

On top of everything else, DJ Wong is an excellent MC and can read a room flawlessly. He kept the vibes up the entire evening, and struck the perfect balance of engaging with the audience and letting the music do the work. We are so grateful we had him for our special day!

Cannot Imagine the Wedding Without Evan

Hire Evan if you are lucky enough to get the chance! He was INCREDIBLE at reading the room and kept the dance floor packed all night. One of the comments we heard most about the wedding (and still hear to this day!) was how wonderful the DJ was. We couldn’t agree more! Evan took such a weight off of us in the planning process, knowing we could completely trust him to be able to play a set to a diverse group of guests with very different music tastes. He even went above and beyond to accommodate some pretty intricate sound requests during our toasts and we were so impressed with his professionalism and talent. He was never showy or cheesy, never made things about himself, and kept the energy up and the party on track all night long. We are incredibly grateful that we hired Evan and highly recommend him -- you will not regret it!

Sooo awesome!!

Jeff Furnas was incredible!! He followed the couple’s directions to a T! The crowd danced until the very end when he read the room and played the best song for the couple. Perfect wedding!

Our experience with MyDeeJay was great. From the start, we asked to speak to a couple of DJs to find out right match for our wedding. We went with DJ Van Petty and it was perfect! He spoke with us throughout about the various music we wanted for our ceremony, reception, dinner, and dancing— from our vague tastes (certain schools of jazz, 90s/00s hip hop and pop, classic rock) to our more specific song requests from Bollywood and Turkish music. We were all over the map, updating our preferences from weeks ahead to even the day-of, and DJ Van made it all seamless. The music was fun, the mixes were great, and so many of our guests commented on how fun the music was. Thanks DJ Van for making our night so special!!

DJ Jeff Provided the Perfect Soundtrack to an Unforgettable Day

We used MyDeejay for our wedding, and the experience couldn’t have been easier. Their site was user-friendly and matched us with DJ Jeff, who turned out to be the perfect fit.

Leading up to the wedding, Jeff was incredibly helpful. He offered thoughtful suggestions, guided us through the planning process, and even assisted with the ceremony layout. His experience took a huge weight off our shoulders.

On the big day, Jeff executed everything flawlessly. He handled the uplighting, which looked amazing, and all of the music and announcements were spot on. Thanks to his attention to detail, there wasn’t a single technical issue.

For the reception, we gave Jeff a loose outline and a few “do not plays,” and he absolutely nailed it. The music was perfect, and the energy on the dance floor reflected it.

We highly recommend MyDeejay and DJ Jeff to everyone. He truly helped make our day unforgettable.

Amazing DJ!

We hired Chuck Nunn from MyDeejay for our wedding in June 2025, and it was hands down one of the best decisions we made! From our very first conversation, he was professional, responsive, and attentive to our preferences. We were pretty flexible on the exact music we wanted and provided a general idea of the vibe we were going for, and he offered a few great suggestions and took it from there. He worked really well with our coordinator and handled all the sound set-up for our outdoor ceremony and reception seamlessly; all the music/speeches sounded great. He made us an awesome cocktail hour playlist that completely matched the summertime, laid-back vibe we were going for. During the reception, he was a fantastic emcee (we wanted a more chill party vibe and he totally delivered – super cool, nothing over-the-top at all) and, most importantly, did an amazing job with the music once the dance floor opened. He made awesome song choices and mixed the music perfectly, delivered on great vibes and variety, and didn’t touch our Do Not Play list once. A month after our wedding I still have friends telling me how much they loved the music. If you’re looking for a fun, easy to work with, and experienced DJ for your wedding, we cannot recommend Chuck Nunn and MyDeejay enough!

Great DJ!!

We decided to go with DJ Brian Jones because of the fantastic job he did at my brother's wedding a few years ago. He did not disappoint at ours. Throughout the wedding planning process, he was incredibly easy to work with and offered great recommendations based on his previous experience.

On the day of the wedding, he timed the music perfectly and read the room well.

Aside from DJ Brian Jones (whom I would definitely recommend), My Deejay is a very easy company to work with overall. I appreciated that there were no hidden fees, and they made sure our DJ had all the information needed to help make the wedding perfect.

Great experience and fantastic event by DJ Van Petty

DJ Van made our wedding pre and post an unbelievable event/experience. He was very attentive and detail oriented during calls, and was very flexible when it came to song and artist choices. His knowledge of music and weddings it a very smooth process from picking songs to organizing the event in general. During the wedding he was very accommodating to our guests when it came to song requests. He was extremely professional and consistently came up to us to ask us if certain things were still good to go or if a certain requested song was appropriate. DJ Van Petty is great!

Everyone kept telling us the music was great all night--old people and young people were all very happy with it. Van Petty did such a great job pulling in songs from our suggestion playlist, he hit everything we put on our must-play playlist, and his ability to know which suggestions to take from guests was supernatural.
His instincts to get people dancing were perfect. I don't think there was a time when the dance floor was empty for more than like thirty seconds. We had everything from slow dances to fist-pumping techno to a literal mosh pit at the wedding, it was awesome!

DJ Van Petty knows how to keep the crowd interested, to seamlessly mix and edit songs, and was very fun to work with. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars!

DJ Van Petty was exceptional to work with for our wedding. He was communicative, helpful, and incorporated all of our inputs and requests. Brian at MyDeeJay was recommended from a friend and from our first call with him we knew we wouldn't need to talk to any other DJs. Brian was prepared, responsive, and related to our millenial late 90s/2000s taste (while avoiding the cheesy parts of this era). Even though we used live music for the ceremony, Brian showed up well before the ceremony and set us up with mics for the readers, officiant and groom. Great service, great vibes

So happy we booked with MyDeeJay for our wedding. Our quote was reasonable and DJ Chuck was very collaborative about how to make our day special. This included A/V help for the ceremony and wedding toasts as well as an excellent DJ set for the dance portion of the reception. We were able to build a wedding day playlist very easily with their tools and DJ Chuck was very responsive to our requests both before and during the wedding day including building a custom mash-up for my Father-Daughter dance and replaying one of my favorite songs several times because I kept wandering away from the dance floor and missing it. MyDeeJay also had very helpful referral options for ceremony musicians and event supplements that we didn't end up using but could be useful to prospective couples.

We worked with DJ Jeff Furnas through MyDeejay and he was WONDERFUL! He was so down to earth and just straight up nice. We gave him playlists for different parts of our wedding and he did a great job keeping the night happy and energetic. He even created fun moments for us (like turning on our pink up lights during Pink Pony Club - how good is that??) Jeff is a legend

We booked MyDeeJay and were paired with DJ Jeff Furnas.

Jeff was extremely responsive and professional throughout the planning process, and did a great job taking our preferences into account while also taking time to listen and care about the special moments - for example, playing a special song for my parents and making a nice announcement during the party. Jeff also helped keep us on schedule during the reception while still allowing us flexibility to enjoy the event. Jeff also coordinated effectively with the planners, event staff, and us leading up to the wedding day, as well as throughout the day and night.

From a music perspective, Jeff was fantastic: he was flexible to take as little or as much direction as needed. For example, we chose specific songs for the ceremony and first dances which he cut for time and mixed to perfection. We gave a more general "vibe" for cocktail hour and he ran with building out a broader playlist for that, and he did a great job of keeping the dance floor rocking the entire night, while accepting our must plays, our "do-not plays" etc.

Ask for Evan!

I'm belated in writing this review, but we hired DJ Evan for our Indian/American fusion wedding in September 2024, and we could not have been happier! We're old, (43 and 55 respectively) and we generally don't listen to music that was recorded after 2000 (lol... just about!) and he totally got our vibe and then took it up a notch. Not only that, but he is well versed in Indian popular music and kept it mixed up so well that no one wanted to leave the dance floor! Our wedding was on a Sunday afternoon, and I think my dear wedding planner thought she might get to go home a little early if the party fizzled out on a school night, but we were dancing until they turned the lights on at 11:30 at night and no one was ready to go! Evan is the best!

We are so delayed in writing this! Evan was the dj at my best friend’s wedding and we couldn’t get his contact info fast enough when it was our turn to get married. My mom was diagnosed with cancer so we were in a rush to get a wedding date scheduled so she could be there. Luckily, Evan was available. We were trying to get everything done in 4 months and Evan was great- he even recommended a caterer (who we booked and loved). Then Covid happened and we had to delay the wedding by 1.5 years. He was so flexible and understanding. My mom passed 3 days before our reception. Needless to say, it was a bittersweet day. Looking back, I can’t believe I wasn’t crying the whole time. I like to think my mom and Evan had a lot to do with that. For the first time in a long time, we were just present in the moment. The dance floor was full the entire time and he totally understood what we wanted (no cheesy music). Anytime anyone asks for a dj recommendation, we send them to Evan. Thanks for everything, Evan!

Amazing vendor

I am so grateful we booked DJ Brian Jones through Mydeejay for our Washington DC wedding. From our first meeting with him, he understood our vision and helped us plan for each part of the day. We reviewed the schedule together and this allowed for a smooth execution of the event. DJ Brian was so well prepared that with the last-minute turnover of my event coordinator, he worked diligently with the venue and other vendors to ensure alignment. Totally put me at ease once he was on the scene. The schedule was followed to a T, and I am so grateful he was there to facilitate.

Not to mention, our friends and family had the dancefloor full all night!! As promised, DJ Brian made announcements and narrated the events perfectly, but then let the dancefloor music speak for itself. We had a blast and guests raved about the nonstop hits. Cannot recommend DJ Brian enough!

DJ Welvin was awesome!

Our wedding was such a party thanks to the incredible DJ Welvin! His mix of songs was great and really brought the right energy to the party at all the right moments. MyDeejay's DJ matching questionnaire was very detailed and helped us hone in on the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We specifically did not want a DJ that yells into the mic a lot (like telling guests to get on the dance floor), and in our initial meeting, DJ Welvin immediately understood. He is also very friendly, down-to-earth, professional, exactly what we were looking for!

Leading up to the wedding, DJ Welvin and Nicole at the office communicated what they needed from us very clearly. The day itself ran so smoothly, even with all of our microevents (many toasts, parent dances, cake cutting, last songs, etc), DJ Welvin kept the timeline flowing perfectly. We also asked him if he by chance could make some EDM mashups for some songs, and he did! We didn't even think our crowd were big dancers but everyone was on the floor and had so much fun!

He also mic'd our ceremony which was tricky because it was an outdoor wedding, but not a problem for DJ Welvin-- the officiant and groom wore lapel mics and the speakers were battery powered (no need to find outlets!) and also very discreet (I didn't notice them at all and don't see them in pictures either). The sound quality was perfect-- not too quiet/loud, not buzzy, and you could hear me (the bride) perfectly fine even though I wasn't mic'd just because I was standing close to my husband.

Highly recommend booking with MyDeejay, and if you're matched with DJ Welvin, you're in great hands!

MyDeejay is easy to use, and a great value! DJ Chuck is the best!

We recently used MyDeejay to book a DJ for our wedding and it was super straightforward. The booking and matching process through the MyDeejay site is clear and easy, and their pricing and expectations are very transparent up front which I appreciated. Their system is well built and user friendly. Their matching process is also great, because we LOVED the DJ we ended up with!

We worked with DJ Chuck Nunn and he was absolutely phenomenal. We had friends playing pre-ceremony music, and he helped them get set up and navigate the venue. He also handled some on-the-fly requests from the FOB during cocktail hour and was able to play all of the songs that we wanted. He also absolutely CRUSHED IT on the dancefloor. He had everybody dancing, did some really cool transitions from one song into another. I would heartily recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ that can transition smoothly from one part of an event to the next, he was essential to the overall event management. Brian MADE our day. We both love music, but really couldn't bring ourselves to figure out much... MyDeeJay, DJ Shawn Garrick, and a Great Time

When we started our search for DJ options, one of our top criteria was that there be an inclusive vibe, as this was a Two Groom kind of wedding. When I did a search with that in mind, MyDeeJay had a statement about being open to the LGBTQIA+ community. That made the search quite easy. After filling out the initial form, we were matched with our DJ, DJ Shawn Garrick. After accepting the recommended DJ, Shawn sent us a message to set up an initial Video Visit through Google Meet, which was our first time using it and we were thankful for that as well. He was flexible with our work schedule and it made the experience personable. We discussed the overall vibe we were going for and it was a great match. The contract and payment process was seamless and easy. They give you options for add-on's which include up-lighting, and photobooth services. At first we opted out of the up-lighting, but in the "11th hour" of everything, we decided to add it onto our package, which again, was an easy process.

MyDeeJay, will prompt its clients to log into their website to start building the experience. This was an area that we should have personally paid closer attention to and not wait until the last minute to do, however we still didn't have a secure timeline of our day's events until two weeks leading up. DJ Shawn, was great with his communication via email, and we were able to set up a second video visit to go over details a week and a half leading up to the wedding.

The profile on the website is very detail oriented, so have your information ready to fill in, be it names of your wedding party, and the songs you want for every aspect. I would suggest building your own Spotify Playlist in the event that they're system link to Spotify cant find a particular song. That way you can send it to your DJ.

We also asked our guests via our wedding site for songs that they wanted to hear to get them on the dancefloor. . You can then compile this list via spreadsheet and filter through them, and add those songs to one of the MyDeeJay profile sections.

The sound quality was great, a mic and two lav mic's were provided for the ceremony. And as far as we know there were no issues for setup at the venue.

DJ Sawn was professional and at the top of his game with the music. We honestly can't wait to find an excuse to hire him for future events.

We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND MyDeeJay if you are in the DMV, not only for weddings but for any event where you want your guests to be entertained with great music.

Our Perfect Classic Wedding with DJ Chuck

We got married at The Belvedere on 10/12/2024 and worked with DJ Chuck. DJ Chuck absolutely exceeded our hopes & expectations & created a more perfect atmosphere than what we even had hoped for for our music. We admittedly had a notable list of must plays & "play if possible" songs, with some comments about certain parts of the song we wanted to get played or any specific announcements we wanted DJ Chuck to do with a certain song, and he got everything right, transitioned each song perfectly & maintained the integrity of each song, which is exactly what we wanted from our DJ (vs. a lot of remixing with quick transitions). The process of selecting MyDeeJay and using their online portal for our music selections was seamless & straightforward. Our dance floor didn't slow down once the whole night once dancing started, & our guests raved about how much fun they had. We are so appreciative of MyDeeJay and especially DJ Chuck for creating the perfect environment & vibe for our classic wedding of ~170 people. I would absolutely recommend the MyDeeJay team to anyone who is thinking about having a DJ at their wedding.

From the very beginning of our booking process with the team, everything went smoothly, including getting a quote, checking availability, and finalizing our contract. They assigned us a DJ (DJ Brian Jones) and we got to meet with him over Facetime to discuss our initial plans. As we built up to the wedding, we made some modifications and sent along some sample playlists - this was all very easy.

When our wedding day came, Brian did an amazing job at supporting all the entertainment and A/V needs for our event. The music was great and people did not stop dancing for a second. All their A/V equipment was high quality and the music was loud without being overwhelming. Brian was also a great MC and was not overbearing at all!

Evan was the best! He was professional and just fun to work with. He got our vision for music and killed it. We had such a great time dancing with our guests, and he could accommodate their requests while also honoring our wishes (meaning he said no at some point), and we could not appreciate that more! There were no complaints from our guests, only praise about the music (and we have all been to weddings where the music was awful, am I right?), so I know that means he was a win! It made our wedding even more memorable and enjoyable!

People split their pants

DJ Chuck was so easy to work with and our guests raved about him! Multiple people split their pants dancing, and no one wanted to leave the dance floor at the end of the night. We could not have been happier with the entire process; from zoom meetings, to planning documents, to the day of, Chuck was knowledgable, friendly, and most importantly a fantastic DJ. DJ Shawn Garrick is who you want!!

Shawn was amazing!! He showed great attention to detail and understood the vibe we were looking to capture for our wedding. He stayed in constant communication and asked so many good questions making sure everything was captured correctly to make our wedding day special. He is also an overall great person. Fantastic experience with MyDeejay

DJ Chuck was awesome to work with!
The planning form used by MyDeejay made everything very easy from adding songs to our playlist, to filling out the timeline of events. Chuck sat with us and went through everything and was able to make edits on the day of to make sure everything went smoothly. We had a blast and never wanted to leave the dance floor the entire night! We received positive comments about the DJ/music from several of our guests!

Thanks DJ Evan!

DJ Evan was a fantastic DJ and all-around audio coordinator at our wedding! He provided music for everything at our Woodend Sanctuary wedding- including mics and music for our outdoor ceremony in the separate grove, as well as cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance floor in and around the mansion- everything was seamless. He was very flexible and worked super well with our coordinators and other vendors - the day of our wedding the weather was looking sketchy but we were still able to squeeze in an outdoor ceremony even with a little rain which we really appreciated being able to do even with speakers and mics!
As for the dancing- we had an incredible night!! We sent a general playlist to Evan before the wedding, but he made the dance floor so fun for us and all of our guests! We got a ton of compliments on the music, the energy and the fact that the dance floor was always full! Couldn’t be happier with the energy Evan brought to our party - highly recommend!!

Amazing night made possible by DJ Van!

For our wedding on April 20th, 2024, we knew that music would be a priority. Having been to our friend's wedding where DJ Van Petty was the DJ and we had so much fun, he was at the top of our list. We had multiple phone calls and he responded to every email quickly. He coordinated our ceremony music and cocktail hour music on the outside patio which was organized to a T. The online forms and request portal were super comprehensive and easy and working with the rest of the staff at MyDeejay was enjoyable. Every song that was a must played was played, and the other requests which we uploaded just for Van to get a sense of our tastes were respected and played as well. The order and timing and mixing of all the music was amazing and I think I only left the dance floor once all night (and it was to get some glow jewelry at the bar). Van expertly worked with our day of coordinator and had everything set up and ready to go (including an officiant mic) effortlessly. He also MC'd very well where it was the right touch and introduced us perfectly! If you want to have a fun memorable night hire this man!

DJ Chuck was amazing!

We hired DJ Chuck from mydeejay for our wedding on April 6, 2024 at Kent Island Resort, and it was the best decision! From our initial phone call, after interviewing a few different DJs from different companies, we knew Chuck would be the right fit. Throughout the planning process he was very accommodating, and the mydeejay planning portal was incredibly thorough and easy to navigate. Chuck arrived early to set up for both our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. His equipment was top of the line - everyone said our ceremony music (which was played outside during an incredibly windy day) sounded like live string music. His indoor set up was incredibly sleek looking. Chuck played all of our requested songs, cut them at the perfect places when needed (for ceremony and dances) and mixed in others that kept our dance floor packed all night - which is what we wanted most at our reception. We also ordered uplighting through them which turned out great. I highly recommend DJ Chuck and mydeejay for your wedding or event!

The best wedding DJ our attendees had ever seen

DJ Brian Jones so rocked our June 2023 wedding in Warrenton, Va., that more than half a year later some of our guests still keep bringing him up. We clicked with Brian right away after MyDeejay matched us with him, bonding over First Aid Kit concerts as we talked through our tastes and what vibes we envisioned for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We felt in very good hands, and he totally delivered. The dance floor was packed and an absolute blast as DJ Brian blended our must-plays with perfect throwbacks, including an extended alt/punk rock set to close it out. Multiple unrelated friends of ours told us he was the best DJ they’d ever seen at a wedding, and we 100% agree. Brian’s a really good dude, on top of his talents, and was a breeze and joy to work with.

Incredible DJs

We hired MyDeeJay (as recommended by our wedding planner) as our reception DJ, and were paired with Evan based on availability. Evan was AMAZING. His energy was exactly what we wanted on our wedding day (lowkey and fun), he listened to our music requests (including our Indian music requests), and executed on wedding day perfectly. The transitions between songs were seemless, he read the crowd so well, and the dance floor was buzzing. I got so many complements after the wedding on what a great job he did. HIGHLY recommend!

Incredible DJ experience with Jeff Furnas!

We couldn't have been happier with our MyDeejay experience. From the first call with Jeff Furnas, we thought he was perfect! He understood our vibe and was very communicative in the months leading up to the wedding. He even mixed our first dance songs well before, probably about five months ahead of the wedding when I asked! Jeff truly went above and beyond for us. His equipment worked so well even though we had sound playing throughout a few separate rooms of the venue, and went to a separate room for the toasts. His vibe reading and announcing was personable and really picked up on the vibe of the night and the guests' energy. I couldn't recommend Jeff Furnas enough!

DJ Van Petty is magical - HUGE part of our successful reception!

As mother of the bride, I knew music was going to be important for everyone involved, but I didn't realize how important the DJ was going to be to the success of the reception. Van understands ALL the dynamics of a wedding reception (tons of experience!), has a keen sense of people and their needs, tastes, and styles, and has a way of keeping the event running perfectly & seamlessly without being that DJ who acts like it is their "show." From working with the bride and groom at the beginning to choose playlists (they had strong opinions, and not much time!), to working with the day-of coordinator, to helping us with our timeline, to deftly dealing with twists, turns, & requests at the reception, we were so grateful for how Van handled everything. It was a spectacular reception due much in part to his magic!

Evan was amazing! Book MyDeejay!

We had an amazing experience working with Evan from MyDeeJay in October! He was professional, super easy to work with, and was truly interested in making our day special for us. I have never seen EVERYONE on the dance floor at a wedding! Seriously, after the parent dances, not a single person was sitting down and all of our guests were commenting about how great of a DJ he was. During our meeting with him, we told him our vibe and gave him only a few song suggestions and he nailed it! We had a blast all night. Personally, we liked how Evan doesn't try to be a crazy stand-up comedian. He's a chill guy, knows how to make people laugh, but doesn't make a big deal about being the MC. He was also very helpful before the wedding. We asked him to shorten our first dance song by removing the bridge and he sent over a version that we could practice our dance to. We would definitely recommend Evan or anyone from MyDeejay!

DJ Jeff is the best!

I love dancing (badly) at weddings so a priority for me when planning my own was that the dance floor be packed! MyDeeJay paired us with DJ Jeff who was great to work with. He was super understanding of our music indecisiveness and some last minute adjustments. Day of, he made sure he knew how to pronounce everyone's names and gave all the speakers a heads up so they weren't surprised when it was time for them to speak. He also took our Spotify playlist for the pre-ceremony/cocktail hour/dinner and broke it up and expanded it to fit the vibe for each of those. And, of course, he played music that kept people on the dance floor all night! Making sure we had the right DJ was a priority for me and I'm so relieved we ended up with Jeff!

We had the pleasure of having Brian as our DJ for our wedding, and we can't say enough good things about the fantastic job he did. From start to finish, he was a true professional and a delight to work with.

Brian not only kept the party going all night, but he also had everyone on the dance floor, and people didn't want to leave when the event came to an end. His music selection was spot on, and he smoothly transitioned between songs, creating a wonderful atmosphere that left everyone in high spirits.

One of the highlights of the night was our choreographed first dance. We had only a part of a song for our routine, and Brian went the extra mile by providing us with a perfectly trimmed version in advance. This allowed us to practice and prepare, making our first dance a truly unforgettable moment.

We hired MyDeeJay and DJ Brian Jones for our wedding and we couldn't be happier we did! The MyDeeJay team was professional and easy to work with - everyone on the team was extremely responsive! We especially liked that the team uses a survey to match clients and DJs. We were matched with DJ Brian Jones, and he was absolutely fantastic! DJ Tim's Curated Tunes = Magical Wedding Celebration!

Nothing short of amazing-- DJ Tim was the linchpin of our wedding celebration. Tim started off with a call with my fiancé and myself to understand what we were looking for regarding music, flow and environment. Tim kept the wedding party on track and critical to our measure of a successful party- he kept everyone engaged, dancing, and having a blast throughout the evening. We had a lot of different cultures and age groups to keep happy. As evidenced by a full dancefloor throughout the night, Tim beautifully covered all bases. Great Wedding DJ!

Can't say enough great things about MyDeejay! From the beginning they were responsive, professional, and friendly. My husband and I talked to several DJs, and once we talked to DJ Frank we immediately knew he was the right fit. Such a great DJ!!!

DJ Jeff is such a gem! Had him at our 200-person DC wedding and everyone loved him. He handled all our last minute changes without trouble and kept the dance floor packed all night. We really appreciate all the prep work he put into making sure our night ran as smooth as possible. He's the best DJ we've seen at a wedding, so thank goodness it was ours!

Best experience with any wedding vendor!

Jeff Furnas at MyDeejay was absolutely amazing! He was super responsive in our initial emails, was pro-active to set up a few calls leading up to the wedding, and was really understanding & communicative throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, Jeff was set up & ready well ahead of time and greeted us at the door; also playing the role of MC throughout the entire night. Would 1000% use MyDeejay and Jeff again for any future events.

Jeff was amazing!

MyDeejay was amazing! We used them for mine and my new husbands wedding a little over a week ago. Our DJ was Jeff and he was truly amazing. So kind and helpful. He really helped the dance floor keep moving and made the day a breeze. He was so helpful during the times we met to talk about the wedding just giving us advice or tips on things that he has experienced. Would HIGHLY recommend!

An absolute blast

We had a small wedding and were nervous it would make for a sub par dance party. BUT, DJ Evan absolutely delivered and had everyone dancing all night long. We love so many different types of music and he was able to mix together the perfect playlist that totally captured our vibe and kept the party going. All of our guests cannot stop raving about the time they had and how they haven’t danced like that in years, or even at their own weddings. It was truly the best night of our lives and working with DJ Evan really made our wedding complete. Aside from the party, the whole process was very easy and communication was great. Everyone really works to understand the ins and outs of your day to make sure it’s seamless and perfect. I couldn’t recommend Evan and MyDeejay enough

Positive, Calm, and Qualified!

DJ Van Petty did an amazing job reading the room and playing the music we requested. He was upbeat and enthusiastic, but not over the top. He listened carefully to what was important to us and made sure to DJ accordingly.

DJ Brian Jones (Huge Hit!)

Well, what can I say... here's another 5-star review coming your way. We were married on April 1, 2023 (no joke) and worked closely with DJ Brian Jones. OMG, there aren't enough positive words to say about him and the service he provided us with. Not only was he absolutely pleasant to work with, but he listened to every single detail that we requested of him and implemented it. I did not realize until the next morning that I never sat down. I, literally, danced the entire evening. Brian was so observant of my guests on the dance floor that he knew exactly when to slow things down, speed them up and throw a little mix in between. I kid you not when I say that I received so many compliments from my guests as to how fantastic he was. I seriously could have not asked for a better DJ. And, let's face it, we'll all know the DJ/Band will either make or break a wedding. Brian was EVERYTHING I had read about in previous reviews and then some and I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I promise you it will be the best decision you ever make... next to marrying your significant other of course.

DJ Welvin Wong was the best!

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a Renewal of Vows and a reception. I searched online for LGBTQ-friendly DJs, and when I came across their website and read their LGBT-Friendly statement, I filled out their initial questionnaire. We were paired with DJ Welvin Wong, and it couldn't have been a better match! He took time to meet with us a couple of times before our big day, and he was cool, knowledgable, and friendly. But the best part was the reception--we had no idea our guests were even going to dance! But Welvin just new what songs to play, and he kept everyone dancing the entire evening! We aren't a younger couple, and the majority of our guests weren't too young either, but Welvin went around table to table introducing himself and taking requests. He was able to gauge the crowd so well, and the music he played got everyone on their feet. We had an absolutely wonderful reception, largely in part due to Welvin. He was great to work with, and we also appreciated the responsiveness we got whenever we communicated with MyDeejay. We would recommend Welvin and MyDeejay to any LGBTQ couple--and to any couple looking for an outstanding DJ.
