User3016641 Sent on 03/28/2017My husband set up our session and apparently didn’t inquire under the correct section of their website and didn’t click wedding since they were not attending our courthouse nuptials. But we did want our wedding photos done on the beach. He inquired but the communication wasnt there on their part, nothing was discussed further than payment and time. When she saw I was in a wedding dress and we told her, I think she should of discussed then that she was unaware it was a wedding and try to get a quick idea on what we’re looking for, instead said nothing and still went along for a basic shoot. It did not seem to me that this person was passionate about what they do. After about 35 minutes, she said she was done. Both husband and I were confused, not happy that we ended early. We let it go since she insisted more than once she had great shots. She sent 31 photos, 6 or so that are different from each other which only two we even like. All others are the same, glares on them or the same ones black and white. (The people in the back I cropped out myself). There was nothing special and we were disappointed. We laughed and smiled during our shoot but got quite a few of us not smiling at the same time or just came out awkward. With the sun in our eyes and not looking at the photos during that time, we didn’t know what they looked like. It’s not that we were unhappy during our shoot. We would have liked opinions given to us. After letting her know my thoughts she asked why I didn’t like them and when I told her, her response was why she liked them. She’d revisit the shoot and then sent a few that looked exactly the same. I told her I appreciated it but that didn’t help and was there anything that could she could do to rectify the situation, but that was that and she ignored it. This experience which has been so miserable, I plan to redo my wedding and photos. Not the type of vendor I plan to work with in the future.MYB Photography's reply:
It’s not that your husband didn’t inquire under the right section; it’s that he booked a family session and NEVER mentioned in the MANY emails sent that it had anything to do with a wedding. As explained to you previously, the consult we do with bridal clients is not something we do on the spot as it involves far more than just a quick chat. We did, as we do for every shoot, ask if there were specific shots or poses you had in mind. You had none, which is fine, so we went on with your shoot how we would any other. Your session was for UP to an hour. Sometimes we get the shots we need before the hour is up, as we did with you. You and your husband were both happy with ending early – we wouldn't have left otherwise. You don’t have duplicate photos in your gallery. You do have sunbursts, not glares, in your photos and some black & white photos – just like our portfolio, as both are part of our style. You are both smiling in most of your photos, the others you are kissing or have a “romantic” type look on your faces. You say you only like 2 photos, but you’ve downloaded every photo in your gallery at least 4 times. When you told me you were unhappy with your photos, I apologized and asked why to see if there was anything I could fix. Unfortunately you were upset about things that were out of our control (people on the public beach, feeling unhappy, wanting different poses after the fact, not liking the way you looked). I offered to revisit your shoot and changed your black & white photos to color and even sent 6 more shots hoping they would be more your style. I also asked what I could do to help fix this for you. You responded saying there was nothing that could be done. So yes, after that I dropped it and didn’t hear anything else from you. Your photos reflect the work in our portfolio, which I assume you reviewed prior to booking us. We stand behind our work and still feel that your photos are beautiful. I am truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations.
